Staff couldn't have been more helpful, breakfast best I have had for a long while. Room rate was great, Room decor was perhaps a little 'tired' but with so much to do on the doorstep there is no need to spend much time in your room. Bar good fun and staff super. Had a good time, thank you. Will definitely come again!

Hotel food terrible, water not hot in the early hours, internet very slow, no one answering front desk phone in the early hours - bad experience!

The room was fine. The staff was Not helpful in any way. And when I checked out, they charges me 50 pounds (80 something dollars) for 5 local calls. Of which I only made 3. And they were not 7 minute calls, but 2 minutes calls. Their system recorded calls that were made at the same time twice. That's not even possible. And they charged 17 pounds for each of the so called 7 minute calls. They refused to do anything about the error and gave me an email address to take up the issue. I felt robbed.

Pleasantly surprised by the quality of the rooms in this hotel. Super central location - perfect for the city centre and train stations. Staff were attentive and helpful.

A warm welcome. Our room was lovely and the huge bed was really comfortable. Enjoyed the breakfast, and was spoiled for choice! Would definitely stay again, despite paying more than other hotels in the area!

Stayed on the 4th floor. It was a good hotel, price was good and food, etc but damm couldnt get a wink of sleep with the noise from the Friday / Saturday night clubs on the high road outside! For the price i would recommend, but not the noise. Stay higher then the 4th floor if you can!!! Bonjour

Visited with my Daughter for a visit to see Oliver! at the Birmingham Hippodrome, and was very pleased that the hotel is situated near to Birmingham New Street railway station, & the theatre. There is also many restaurants to eat out in, close by, especially chinese, japanese, cantonese & italian cuisine. Is also close to the Bullring shopping centre, so a good choice for the centre of Birmingham The rooms are clean & comfortable & provide safe facility, iron & hairdryer, as well as a tea & coffee making tray. The bathroom is also as you would hope, with an excellently sized shower, large fluffy towels, and a plentiful supply of hot water. Breakfast menu in my opinion is overpriced, so I am unable to comment on the food here as we ate out. Would return & recommend for a city break.

So much going for it but unbelievable noise at night. I was at the front of the hotel, on the 7th floor and I thought that I was in in downtown Paris at mid day. Massive amount of traffic noise, did to get to sleep until 04.00. Hardly the hotel's fault though, as everything else was excellent.

Stayed in the Hoilday Inn in birmingham for 1 night, the room was great and clean, the bathroom had a shower and a bath. Room was quite and very comfortable. The location was perfect within 2 mins walk from new street station, the o2 academy and shopping area. We didnt try the breakfast as it was a little expensive at 15gbp each. Staff where very nice and polite and we where able to store our bag there all day for free while we went out into town.

We chose the Holiday Inn because of its proximity to the Alexandra Theatre - literally 2 minutes walk away. The room we had was absolutely superb (618) and extremely comfortable and although our stay was on a Saturday night, it was very quiet. We didn't use the restaurant at night but breakfast was not rushed at all, the food choice was lovely and all the staff were charming. I would definitely stay here again if we were going to either the Alexandra or Hippodrome theatres.

THE HOTEL WAS VERY NICE AND WE ENJOYED OUR STAY. THE ONLY DOWNSIDE WAS OUR ROOM WAS NEXT TO THE LIFT AND THERE WAS A HUMMING SOUND EVERYTIME IT WAS USED

excellent location to new st railway, bullring, china town, new street shopping etc. everything is literally within 5 mins stroll away. also.across the road is a 24 hr convenience store. buffet breakfast was average. but satisfactory.all the usual hot items.

it was nice to stay. location is good to access and room is clean. money for value.

stayed here as very close to the hippodrome theatre this hotel in the superior room was extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean would use again. Very large comfy bed a great place to stay if new to Birmingham.

The Hotel room was great, clean room and facilities, convenient parking at the NCP next door, central location... however...Our room was facing the main road at the front of the hotel, and overlooking Oceana night club, which made the hours between 1 and 5 extremely noisy. Make sure you ask for a room not facing the main road, and I'm sure you'd have a peaceful night's sleep!

The staff very friendly and courteous, breakfast was excellent, all very clean and comfy, well definitely use again.

Recently stayed at the holiday Inn Birmingham and had a nice comfortable stay. Hotel was close to all the main shopping venues like Bullring and Mailbox, it is also close to theatres and restaurants. Only issue was the heating wasn't working so hotel brought up a portable radiator which helped .Overall good 2 night stay and good brekkie!

Great hotel, we had a family room as you get a sofa bed in those rooms which makes it feel more like a suite, but you're not paying a premium as you would for a suite. We were on the top floor with views of the city skyscrapers and a walk around balcony, amazing at night. Japanese styled sliding doors instead of curtains. Superb value for money! Would definitely recommend.

Stayed here for NYE and was central location and also late breakfast for NYD

Went for the german christmas market for the weekend, caught the train to new street, hotel located about 5 min walk from bullring and all other sites . great location and good sized room

We paid a bit more for an exec room and it was really worth it, massive bed, large newly refurbished room, box of chocs, bottled water. It was a really well kitted out room. Staff very polite and helpful. We were going to concert at NEC and hotel very near B'ham New St Station and shops etc, so very convenient. Only comment..restaurant a bit too hot, but really that is the only slightly negative thing I would say. Would thoroughly recommend.

This is a comfortable warm hotel with above average service. I can recommend anyone who wants a city center hotel to try this one.

Good hotel-clean and very good facilities. Buffet breakfast was superb. However, got a room on the 2nd floor next to the elevator shaft. The noise from the elevator is very annoying and prevented me from getting a good night's sleep.

Our stay at this hotel was an ideal city break, the hotel itself was very clean and well presented, our room was very spacious and well maintained. Located just a short walk from Birmingham's New Street Station which provides trains to and from the airport, also less than a 5minute walk from the O2 Academy the huge Bullring Shopping Centre and an extensive selection of restaurants. Although we had no problems with noise from the streets during the night, a light sleeper may wish to request a room on the other side of the hotel facing away from the main street. I would definately recommend this hotel!

AVERY GOOD STAY FOOD WAS VERY GOOD THE ONLY DOWN FALL WAS THAT WE HAD TO WALK THROUGH OF SMOKERS OUT SIDE THE HOTEL ENTRANCE, THE FRONT DEASK STAFF SAID THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING AS THIS WAS A PUBLIC PLACE.

Best value for money I've stayed in, in Birmingham. Highly recommended.

perfectly located right in the middle of the main shopping area of Birmingham ( the Bull Ring,Cathredal St.) and within easy walking distance of the Museums Galleries and Canel walkway. The Hotel staff were pleasent and very helpful and we enjoyed our stay but we found the breakfast to be pricey with no vegetarian option. Overall we would recommend the Holiday Inn Birmingham

Hotel was absolutely great for the price we paid. Room was clean, modern, comfortable and quiet and location perfect. Would definitely stay there again and recommend.

I was on the street side and a lot of noise during the night. It is near a few night clubs.

I enjoyed my stay at the Holiday Inn. The room was spacious and clean and had everything that was required. The only downside is that the room faced the main road and loud, noisy party goers could be heard in the early hours of the morning. Despite that, I would still stay at this hotel.

Location perfect for theatres, shopping, coach & rail stations, Hotel very clean, the double room very clean & comfortable, the staff helpful & friendly, would use again & ask for the same room as it was very quiet at night.

This hotel was great! very comfortable, very cool rooms (green mood lighting in the bathroom) and great conference/convention/ballrooms. the location is wonderful-very close to the bullring and the mailbox, and right around the corner from one of the oldest comic shops in Britain. It is also within walking distance of a few national rail stations. Staff was wonderful-we had a weird issue (days 1 and 2 were paid for by someone else, day 3 was paid for by me) and they accommodated us quite well, letting us stay in the same room even though we had 2 reservations. fantastic overall stay! my only complaint was that the room did not have a microwave, but that's just a preference, not really a complaint.

I booked this hotel because it was cheap and for its location. It is near Birmingham New Street Station and Edgbaston Cricket Ground. The room was small but as i was staying on my own it was fine. It was clean and comfortable, the only downside was a large crack in the washbasin. I would suggest that if you want breakfast that you get a room with breakfast included as it was a bit expensive. All in all it was a nice hotel and I would stay there again.

everything at this hotel was lovely. the room was very comfortable and cozy, and the location was great-like a 5 minute walk to the bullring, 10 minute walk to the mailbox, just perfect! i'd stay here again in a second.

Couldn't fault hotel. Only thing was it was quite noisy outside at night, had a bit of trouble sleeping. This would not put me off staying here again because we were going to see a show at the hippodrome and it was so close to the theatre.

The room was comfortable and very large. The free wi-fi was a great bonus.

Location perfect for shopping and The Hippodrome, room very good but please don't expect to get any sleep. Although asked for a room at the back, did not get one. The constant noise of traffic and vehicles/taxis tooting their horn all night/morn; till 5am! Lovely Hotel but will not be using again.

Not great I am sorry to say. I expect to haved the location of the Lifts, My Room and the breakfast restaurant given to me. I expect a smile and greeting as though the staff are happy to see me. I dont expect to watch the bar staff do a crossword while I wait for a quick pint. I expecet to be asked how my stay was. I expect the double glazing to keep road noise out (even on the first floor) and finally i expect to be able to sleep throughh the night (i was awake at 4am due to road noise). The area is horrid as well, not the hotels fault but it is grim.

Only 1 staff at check and check out. frustrating as it took 20 minutes to check in and 30 to check out. Was advised the room included breakfast but charged to the room. Booked an executive room, excellent and clean. Surrounding area comprises of clubs, restaurants etc not very safe at night.

The hotel staff were extremely helpful and charming. The room was brilliant - very clean, comfortable and spacious. I have made a note of the room number and will endeavour to book again on my next trip to Birmingham.

I stayed here as I was seeing a show at the Alexandra Theatre (which is just around the corner). I asked to be put on the quiet side of the hotel and I'm glad I did as Birmingham can get very noisy around that area, especially on a Friday night! My room was very clean and it looked like it had been recently decorated, with a very cosy bed which meant I slept extremely well ready to hit the shops in the Bullring which is just up the road (all of 3 minutes away). The breakfast was great with a good choice of hot and cold choices - the scrambled egg was delicious! All round, I'd recommend this for anyone wanting a quality hotel close to the shops, train station and theatres/concert venues.

The Holiday Inn Birmingham is ideally located for city centre attractions such as the Alexandra Theatre and the Mailbox, both just a very short walk away. The rooms are large, clean and modern. This is a great value, no frills, hotel if you're looking for a decent place to stay without spending a fortune.
