The hotel is the perfect location for a romantic getaway or a family vacation. The free shuttle to and from the airport was a big convenience and they will even take you to the airport to go pick up a rental car if you decide not to rent from the on-site Enterprise location. You really won't need a car, although there are tons of great things to see and do around the island. The beach out front is perfect for kids or those who just want to splash around, and there are several great restaurants within walking distance. We had a great stay and couldn't have been more pleased with the staff and facilities.

One of my favorite hotels/resorts. The pool is next to the beach. Beautiful place, yet quiet. Koi pond and all natural beauty. I will definitely come back for sure.

The Marriott is a nice hotel located near to the airport (but you do not hear any planes). The pool is very nice as is the beach. Overall I really liked this hotel but following my stay there I moved on to the Hyatt which I have to say is the better of the two. Location wise the Marriott is great for a base as the north shore is well worth visiting and it is closer from the Marriott than from the Hyatt.

Everything and Everyone was nice. My only concern was the $24.99 charge for some kind of resort package which I never asked for and never used, but was charged for. It was added to the welcome package without telling me there was an additional charge for it.

Not too quiet, not too crowded. A perfect resort for families or couples. We also rented a car on site for enterprise and explored the island. Dukes is a good dinner place and there is an ABC store just off to the side of the resort for drinks and snacks. The pool is amazing and there is plenty of room for everyone to get a good spot with the chairs by the pool or the beach.

Located in a larger resort setting which includes a golf course and residential development, the grounds of the entire complex are stunning. Add to this the beautiful bay on which the hotel sits with a well protected bay, and the setting is great. We wanted to visit both the Na Pali coast in the north and the Waimea Canyon in the south so his centrally located resort served us well. Outside the resort, the town of Lihue is OK, but not the hotels strongest attraction.

We chose to stay here for our first night on Kauai and it was perfect. The quality definitely matches the price. Highly recommend. Great place to relax and get away from it all. The one downfall would be that you get too comfortable at the resort and miss out on all that Kauai has to offer.

This hotel was absolutely beautiful. The pool was great. The beach was lovely. Dukes restaurant (on the grounds ) was really good. The Italian restaurant was snooty, and the food wasn't very good. Service was slow and bad. My only complaint about the hotel is the rooms were far from the lobby and the restaurants (a 15 min . walk). Also, when we pulled up to the hotel and was greeted by the parking people. They told us there was a fee for parking and valet When we checked in (registration is far from where you pull up to the hotel), they told us parking is included in your resort fee. People at the entrance should know this, and not try to scam you. That was our only glitch. Hotel is beautiful.

Real negative was food service. Hotel Restaurant was over priced for the food and service provided. It was embarassing that Duke's which rents space in the building, had better pricing and food than the hotels own restaurant. Parking is awful, tennis courts were a joke, pool towel policy and wrist bands made you think that you were swimming at the YMCA.

We recently stayed here just a few days before Christmas and I must say what a beautiful resort. For starters, the pool view we booked was sold out so they upgraded us to an ocean front at no charge. Kalapaki beach is no special gem but it was really nice. The waves kept coming in, not big but consistent. It is a great place for beginning surfing or boogie boarding. The pool is gorgeous but a bit chilly. The front desk said that the heating pump went out but they were in the middle of fixing it. My 1 little ones stayed in the kiddie pool with the slide. They have 5 hot tubs all different temps so you can fin just the right one. Breakfast buffet was really nice. Omelettes made to order fresh fruit juices and lots o other fresh food. There was even a dessert bar with fresh tropical cakes. Right next door is Dukes restaurant. Fantastic place to dine. Every entree comes with a salad bar. Fresh Cesar fruit and about 30 other things. I highly recommend this resort. Such a beautiful place to spend some quiet relaxing time.

We were overwhelmed with everything - our first trip to Hawaii. Two of our daughters and their partners also joined us and they kept us busy with sightseeing, helicopter ride, several dinners in and out of he Hotel. The weather was wonderful, including the beautiful "Sound & Light Show", together with a lot of rain, but it didn't dampen our spirits. Everything was more than we had hoped for. Thanks to all the staff.

We had a beautiful stay. The view from our room was amazing, we stayed in an ocean view room. The staff and service were great. We asked for a change of pillows and were accommodated immediately. The front desk staff were very friendly. We were all sad to leave.

Nice resort. Had a beautiful room with a balcony but was disappointed that they had no screens in place.

very relaxing, great location & beautiful pool

My husband really enjoyed staying at this resort. We had an ocean view room on the 5th floor. The staff was very friendly and helpful at all times. Our room came with the breakfast buffet, which was good for a buffet and definatly enough food to get us started for the day. We especially loved the pool area and the waterslide! We will definatly stay again.

Great location if you plan to drive around the island and sight see. There is a direct entrance to the resort from Lihue airport and a complimentary airport shuttle runs frequently. Grounds were beautifully maintained. Pool is large and there are multiple hot tubs so you have personal space. Plenty of loungers around the pool and facing Kalapaki Beach. Gym had sufficient cardio equipment and weight machines. Staff was friendly and service meets Marriott standards. There are local restaurants within walking distance of the resort which is nice if you want to take a break from resort food.

Everything was fabulous except they kept only leaving towels for 1 when both my husband and I were checked in. We also had to ask the second night for more shampoo and conditioner and lotion.

We had a great time, pool is awesome and liked having the linger option except that it was a little expensive. The Internet option was confusing but overall it was a great stay.

My wife and loved our stay at the Kauai Marriott. The location was great and the service was outstanding. Our room was comfortable and loved sitting on the patio listening to the ocean.

A killer pool. Actually it is so desirable they require you get an armband to be allowed in. The hotel is beautiful. The architecture leaves you wanting more if you are very particular; however, most will feel one is in paradise. The sushi restaurant is top notch, so don't bother driving into town, as is Duke's Restaurant. People who stay at other hotels and locals actually come to eat at Duke's. And on top of it all no entre with salad bar included is more than $30. The drinks are very reasonable too. The only surprise was an additional $25/day "resort fee" due at booking that covered parking, WIFI, and two "free" Mai Tai's. A recommended stay. Looking forward to staying there again.

The hotel is nice. The service is spotty; i.e., some on staff give great service, others give horrible service. I wouldn't stay there a second time. The location is easy to get to from the airport, but the surrounding neighborhood is not worth anything you may be saving by staying here. Pick the south/north side of the island, and get yourself a hotel there. Worst thing about hotel is getting nickeled & dimed for things like internet, toast, etc.

Great place to stay!! Perfect location - the pool was fabulous and my husband loved the gofling. Very friendly place to stay. Our full ocean view from our room was stunning. The restaurants were excellent. We're cattle people from the midwest and the prime rib dinner was the BEST prime rib we've ever eaten and the crab legs that went with it were delicious - didn't want to go home. We will be going back.........Marty from Kansas

The Kauai Marriott was absolutely gorgeous. The beach was convenient w/ many water sport activities. The pool was refreshing w/ just the right temp, Everyone kind and helpful with any question or concern. Comfy room. The only criticism I would have is they don't greet arriving guests w/ leis. I was really forward to it...who wouldn't be?

Great location with beautiful pool and nice safe beach. Good food at 4 different restaurants. Not much night life here or anywhere on the island; perfect for relaxing in paradise! Staff very helpful. Lots of activites to do (or not). Beautifully landscaped with nice looking golf course.

This is simply the best hotel I have ever stayed at in my life. The resort is breathtaking, the landscaping at the hotel may be the single best I have ever seen, regardless of location. The pool is unreal, the beach is great, and the best restuarant on the island is at the hotel -- Duke's. The only issue I had, and I came to understand this isn't an issue with the hotel, rather the island, is we had a SINGLE DEAD cockroach that appeared in our room the morning after our first night. I informed the front desk about the issue, and they immediately changed/upgraded our room free of charge. Upon talking to locals and research, however, I almost felt bad. It is a tropical climate and no matter how often you fumigate, clean, etc. they're around. The fact we didn't see another the entire trip was almost amazing, as I saw them at other places around the island. However, the customer service regarding the issue, and just the customer service/quality of the hotel was so amazing I could care less the issue even took place. I guess the point is, if you're a person that hates bugs, stop trying to decide which hotel to book on the island and pick a different place to visit. If you still want to visit the island, this is the best hotel you'll find.

This hotel is 75% a time-share property - not really a hotel. It was built in 1960 - and looks like it. To one side it looks across an employee car park to the cruise line passenger terminal - which looks like an industrial site. The pool area is large but surrounded by ugly columns from what looks like a 1970's makeover - extremely garish and ugly. I would not recommend this property to anyone.

My daughter and I recently stayed at the Marriott Resort in Kaua'i, and I cannot praise it enough. I am very picky about hotels' cleanliness, customer service and activities. This hotel has it all! It's clean, the staff is very courteous, efficient and accomodating, the grounds are pristine and the adjoining restaurants are quite good. The view from our room was spectacular - pool, mountains and beach. Even when it rained, we had a great time enjoying a spa day.

We've stayed at some of the top hotels in the US, and this was the best!!! The views and service were top drawer. Price was a bit steep compared to other 5 star locations, but worth it.

The hotel looked just like it was advitized, the pool was wonderful and the view from the balcony to the pool and the ocean was awesome

This was the nicest place I've ever stayed - the staff, the hotel grounds, the room, the spa and the food were fantastic!
