great value for money ..excellent central location

I was unsure after reading some previous reviews, however ultimatley I chose the Hotel for it's location. Having stayed there for 2 nights, I have to say I don't have any negative feedback at all. The staff were friendly and hospitable, the hotel was clean, excellent room. What can you ask for, some of the reviews are puzzling and I regard myself as well travelled and I like my comforts!!

Very nice hotel. Staff were very helpful. Fantastic proximity to sites, and also Underground (nearest station - Hyde Park Corner).

Only had two nites but enjoyed our stay.The staff were all very frienly and helpful. Location was great,with resturants walking distance.The only complaint no fridge in room.We will stay again,a little longer this time.

It's hard to beat this hotel's location. Yes, it needs some money spending on it to get it back to its past glory- but until then, for the money, it can be a bargain. Those who complain about the tiredness of decor don't seem to realise that a room in this location could easily cost twice what this hotel charges. The rooms are clean, and the public areas have been redecorated. The location is the winning factor, close to Mayfair and the West End- and adjacent to the friendly 'village' feel of Shepherds Market.

The hotel has good bones and it's in a great location but that's where the good news ends. The staff was rude and mostly didn't seem to know what they were doing. To top it off, there was no hot water at all for the morning shower. I mean no hot water!!!!! It started as a trinkle and shortly stopped to nothing where upon a gurgling gassy sound came came out instead of water. I called the front desk standing there with soap in my hair shivering and was informed it would be 2 hours before hot water would be available!!!!! No apologies whatsoever!!! I was told that there was some sort of notice I was supposed to have had about the hot water. No one said anything when I checked in and I never saw a notice. This was by way of an apology!!!!! DONT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!!!

The room was small but had a king size bed. Was nice and clean. Great location close to park. Good value.

Good location and friendly service.

I did appreciate that they had a room available at 11 o'clock and the second advantage was the free wireless access that allowed me to start working immediately after arrival

The manager is out usually around luck time and all the reception activity stops. Other than that, normal service. Wish they make something to make the hotel special. LIked the location though.

I stayed for one night whilst in London visiting family. The daytime receptionist was not at all friendly. The room was adequate. The Hotel was noisy, when guesta arrived in the evening, no attempt was made to quieten them down. I would not stay here again.

A wonderful way of sampling the delights of a beautiful part of central London, at a reasonable price. Very endearing, pint-sized hotel that really conjures up a feeling of nostalgia and olde world charm due to the location setting, interior features and dry humour from the front desk! Unfortunately there is no internet access from the room, so it was necessary to work online from the downstairs lobby. That being said, it was overall a very enjoyable stay.

Whenever I ever book a single room I have always had a double bed with single occupancy, I actually got a very small room with very small single bed. Also the male person on reception requires many courses on customer service, he has no clue!

Main issue, aside from the very outdated and scruffy drab room, was upon check in I was given the incorrect room key for a room already being occupied by a gentleman! As a single woman checking in this could have been disastrous - the rececptionist seemed completely un-concerned about this and just gave me another room! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL AND OUR COMPANY USES THIS HOTEL OCCASIONALLY SO HAVE FED BACK MY THOUGHTS

After reading several negative reviews we were really concerned prior to our visit. However our concerns were totally unnecessary as all aspects of the hotel were first class. Rooms were comfortable clean, en-suite bathroom and shower really good, staff friendly and breakfast excellent value for money. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone who needed to stay in the Park Lane area.

We were looking for an authentic English hotel in the heart of old London and we found one. The Park Lane Mews feels very old time, but with the modern touches. It is within blocks of all the big famous hotels, but on a quieter side street, near all kinds of authentic pubs and restaurants (ie: ones without other tourists). Great choice if you want to experience the real London.

Unfortunately this hotel was of four star quality as suggested. The furnishings throughout were well worn and the bed mattress must have seen many years' service. Additionally the bar\foyer area was of very limited size. We did not have breakfast or use other services so cannot comment on these but overall we were disappointed as we just could not see how this hotel could be given a four star rating.

Good hotel, beds were not very comfortable, but for the price you really can't expect better. The location is great if you don't mind walking a little. It's very close to Piccadilly Circus. I would definately stay here again if I were on a budget.

Have stayed at this hotel twice now and have been pleased on both occasions. Found hotel clean, staff helpful and is excellently situated for central London and tube services. Surrounding neighbourhood can seem busy, but you must remember that you are not in a country retreat. If you want a clean hotel, well priced right off Park Lane, then I would highly recommend this establishment. I shall definitely be rebooking.

The hotel should have let me know that there is a building site outside the front door. The noise started at about 6am, and sounded like they were dropping a skip full of glass bottles from the 3rd floor into a truck on the street below. Very Very Very noisy.

At this hotel a single room basically means a closet with a tiny bathroom. I had no working outlets and no WIFI signal (the promise WIFI, but good luck if you have a corner room far from the acess point). The lobby is seriously dated and the staff is caustic. Any questions asked were treated as a nuisence at best. If you have any other options - Take them!!

I'm ok with basic hotel rooms, but this one fell far below basic - expecially given the price. But let's begin with my arrival. I struggled to get my bags through the door while the two front desk people just watched me. They weren't helping anybody, they just watched me struggle with my bags, the door, the ridge on the floor. The man who was working was weird and kept calling things to Kate (I feel like he thought he was one of John Cleese's characters from Monty Python). The room was depressing. Run down, worn out. It was a struggle to close the curtain (first because I didn't want to handle it or the tie that held it back, then because the rod was in need of repair and lube). The shower was worn through in places and could use a good de-liming and scrub. The bed was a joke - hard and lumpy at the same time and a miserable sleeping experience. And the sheets smelled funny. For heating there was a space heater plugged into the trouser press next to the bed. The space heater barely took the chill off the room, despite it being on all night. Terrible. The next morning I asked the front desk if they could help me call a cab (I tried to call down and make the request, but nobody picked up the phone). The same man who watched me struggle with my bags the night before said "well, we could, but if you just walk down the street they'll be right there". REALLY? I will not be going back to this hotel and recommend that others not settle for this dump.

This hotel could definitely use some refurbishing but the staff is friendly and helpful. We liked the location a lot. The Shepherds Market was right down the street. It was a short walk to the Tube and near both Hyde Park and Green Park. We enjoy walking to get to know a new a city and the hotel was convenient for that. Also in a very safe and quiet area.

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. The hotel staff were pleasant, although English wasn't their strong point! I would recommend eating breakfast elsewhere. Having cost more than I've ever paid for a breakfast, I expected more. There was plenty on offer but it wasn't as fresh as I would have hoped for. We weren't given our own teapot and had to keep asking for refills. The waitress was very pleasant and obliging, but for the price it would have been better to have had our own pot and a fresh breakfast rather than the old buffet food on offer. The scrambled egg had an unappealing smell and was less than tasty. Our hotel room was small but adequate. The bathroom could have benefited from an extractor fan and the shower perhaps needed updating, although served its purpose. The location was fantastic. Green Park Station is the closest and easiest to walk to. Hyde Park is just across the road. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from in the Square behind the hotel. We were situated at the front of the hotel so at times found the road a bit noisy, but nothing too disturbing. Overall, we had a pleasant stay. I would recommend this hotel to visitors based on location and ease of access to the rest of London.

When we asked the front desk person where Shepherd's Market was, she did not know. We found out later that the hotel borders on Shepherds' Market. Otherwise, everything was fine

bit pokey in size but it was a sweet small boutique hotel situated right in the heart of london, good safe area. food was very nice

Reception staff were helpful on arrival, staff looking after the 24 hour bar were negative and it was a real struggle to be able to order 1 drink as a night cap. It may have a 24 hour license but the staff do not like to make use of it.

Nice hotel all around, great pubs and restaurants close by. Knowledgeable front desk staff. They did not have a computer for those travelling without a laptop. Check out the Piccolo Bar for great sandwiches and breakfast.

We were very disappointed with the Park Mews. Outwardly it is lovely but needs maintenance inside. Peeling wallpaper, etc. The check-in clerks were not fluent in English and were humorless. To get a taxi one had to go to the London Hilton up the street.

Just next door to Sheperd's Market and in the middle of bustling Mayfair. In walking distance to all the great London places and yet very cosy and old british charm. I will come back over and over!

It's a very good option from Convenience perspective. Cozy and Very well located either because of the surroundings, or underground location to move around the city. Good Attention (not espectacular). Hotel is Old, but comfortable. Good Value for Money.

totally adequate, if you don't plan to spend much time in your room. Near all the major Mayfair hotels. Internet wi fi only in lobby, bit of a hassle.

Service & location superb.

It's in the Mayfair area, one underground stop from Picadilly and one from Harrods.. Easy walk to either. Kind of tucked a few blocks from Picadilly street. Has many pubs/cafes within a short walk. Was nice to get out of the crowds of London for the evenings at the hotel.. Definitely an older hotel but the hallways looked real cool with the old wood doors. Our room needed some minor repair work (small dents in baseboard) and the bathroom was laid out kind of weird (tub/shower faced the sink).. It has free wifi but was not accessible from the room.. They were in the process of upgrading it.. It worked fine in the lobby. Usual limited selection of TV channels in UK. All in all.. good for the price compared to higher prices of other hotels in the area. Staff was nice. Would go back again.

Hotel was a hidden pleasure and very good location to all the areas I needed to be in during my trip. I had to change rooms do to a leak in the bathroom which traveled under the wall into the carpet next to bed...hotel staff moved me to a bigger room at the same price...so was pleased. Only complaint I have was that I would be great if they had some international news channels on TV...only 7 channels, 5 British and 2 Arabic....no CNN International, MSNBC or even Sky News...so it would be great if they could add some news channels. That's it....great stay and with the best rates in town for Mayfair location.... John

Very close to Green Park, The Mall Buckingham palace and the tube all within 5 minutes walk, the street by the hotel is full of restaurants to give a lot of choices to eat.

The good: The location isn't bad at all. The staff is helpful but not overly friendly. Not expensive. The bad: Small rooms. Hotel shows wear and needs updating. This makes the hotel seem a bit unclean. Wifi only in lobby, not in rooms. No parking, so if you drive, be prepared to spend £40 per night to park your car in the closest garage.

It takes a map to find this hotel as it's tucked away on a back street but price for location, if you need to be near Hyde Park, is great considering nearby hotels' rates. Very basic amenities and service however again considering rates in London the price was ok for a quick weekend trip.

Booked and then read closely some of the review - was a bit worried. Hotel was fine, central heating wasn't working but had a electric oil radiator (which we turned off), double glazing was missing the inside glass but no real noise from traffic. Shower was fine, breakfast expensive (ate at a cafe round the corner for half the cost), interesting shops, all in all worth going and would probably go back
