Queen Anne Hotel - سان فرانسيسكو

Nice older hotel that is well situated for a visit to several inner-city locations, but especially Japantown. It takes about 15 minutes to drive to any of several nearby areas including Golden Gate Park, Union Square, Fisherman's Wharf, the Mission district, etc. The area appears relatively safe and there is a considerable amount of foot traffic to support that claim. Excellent restaurant choices nearby, but especially Japanese-oriented fare of many types and costs. The Queen Anne is a Victorian-era structure, which boasts, then, both the good (charm, quaintness, etc.) and the bad (older structural features (e.g., single-pane windows) and revamped plumbing (neither charming nor elegant and which detracts somewhat from the overall feeling of that early 20th century feeling) of an older building. If you visit now, you'd best like era-appropriate holiday-oriented holiday decorations since most of the first floor not only boasts but screams "Christmas!" (but, alas, no other ethnic holiday theme). However, once you adjust, the fireplaces, tea service, and abundant sitting opportunities are pretty comfortable. Desk help is pleasant and there's usually someone knowledgeable of the area somewhere near the lobby. We would certainly stay here again - yes, even with the lobby's gaudy accouterments. PS - Breakfast, although a substantial "Continental" array is available, is quite a letdown considering the number of outstanding nearby breakfast locations. If this were my hotel I'd improve the quality of the coffee (this is San Francisco, after all) and design a simpler, more local breakfast food theme.

the hotel was beautiful and festive. Holiday decor was all around. Would stay there again everytime in S.F.

Be ready for Old! If you are, you’ll enjoy this hotel. True to it’s billing, the furnishings are authentic and interesting. The lobby is a comfortable place to sit and read by the fireplace. Staff was all very helpful to us. Centrally located in the city – just a short cab ride to many of the spots. Breakfast is nothing to get excited about but it was adequate.

There was an overpowering smell of air freshener, to which I am very sensitive. I had to open the window and it still did not eliminate it. The TV had sound, but no picture. I phoned to have it addressed, they said they would take care of it. After returning from dinner, they had done nothing. They sent an older woman to try and fix it, which she could not. They then asked me to move to another room that had a larger tv and was better appointed.

The hotel is very charming and the parlor/living room is elegant and comfortable. Breakfast is adequate...more than just "continental". I liked the location. It's quiet but very close to downtown, the park, Japantown

The Queen Anne was so charming and comfortable! In our other stays in San Francisco we stayed near Union Square. Staying a little farther out was much quieter. But the Queen Anne was still super convenient since there are several Muni stops within a couple of blocks that got us everywhere we wanted to go. The biggest problem we had with the Queen Anne was that we got very spotty cell reception in the building (AT&T). Overall a great stay!

This was such a great place for us. My husband & I lived in SF for 15 years, before moving to UT. We were married there & wanted to spend out 20th Anniversary in "Our City." I cannot think of a better place to have chosen. Although I was disappointed at not having any "ghostly encounters" during our stay, the Queen Anne's rooms are good-sized & well decorated. The lobby & other public areas are also beautifully done -- it is a much friendlier atmosphere than one would fine at one of the "big name" hotels. The staff was charming & very welcoming, although the hotel could use 1 or 2 additional staff during the day, as on a couple occasions, we had to wait for someone to come to the front desk from another part of the hotel, where they were attending to something/someone else. We know the SF bus system well, & the hotel was close to major bus lines -- we went anywhere & everywhere via bus (uptown; downtown; SOMA; the Haight; the Mission, Sunset & Richmond Districts). The hotel is right next to Japan town, & it was just a couple blocks's walk to good Sushi. I do not, however, want anyone to get the wrong impression from this Review. This was, indeed, a great hotel -- the "perfect place" for us, but by no means a "perfect place." As with any place, there were some flaws. The walls are a little thinner than I would've liked -- we could hear maid-service working out in the hallways several hours each day. The elevator is quaint, however quirky, & a bit slow. There was a time or 2 that I wondered whether the door was going to open & let us out! We also quickly learned that it is a bit faster to take the stairs, on the way down -- even with my bad foot. My only complaint with respect to the room, itself -- the lighting. We had a beautiful, canopied bed -- very Victorian; very romantic. The only problem was that the canopy blocked the light from the ceiling, making it difficult, if not impossible, to read my book in bed, at night. The bedside lamps were not much help -- I eve

The staff of the Queen Anne was very welcoming, and the room was spacious (by S.F. standards) and clean. It's an older hotel, and some features like the room door locks (perforated key cards right out of the '80s) and the elevator are serviceable but dated. Like the comparable Majestic Hotel down the street, rooms at the Queen Anne are an odd mix of antique-looking furnishings and modern bathroom fixtures, which is just fine if you don't demand either completely authentic or completely modern accommodations. My wife and I thought the free breakfast, always-open free coffee bar, free sherry service in the late afternoon, and fireplaces in the lobby were nice touches. The California Street cable car line is about five blocks away, which is a fun way to get to the heart of the tourist and business areas. Rates seem to vary considerably, but if you can snag a low one, the Queen Anne is one of the best values we've found in San Francisco.

Convinient location - close to many of the must-see sigths Large, clean room, although a bit worn out. Very helpful and service-minded staff Tea and sherry in the afternoon. What more can you ask for? I would definately recommend this hotel.

This place is so very unique. It is like walking into the past. The decor is incredible. Every floor is fitted out with antiques and the atmosphere is great. For us it was in a great place as we love to walk and we did to Fisherman's Warf which took us about an half an hour to 45mins. The staff were great and it was excellent value for money. Would definately stay here again.

This hotel choose itself for us when we saw it on the internet and needed an American address to book our round the world flight. We arrived mid afternoon somewhat tired from Auckland, having departed early evening that day. We were given advice regarding eating out nearby or offered to get food in. Our room was more spacious than we expected, our previous hotel having been in Hong Kong. The decor and furnishings gave the hotel a character of its own. You felt like "somebody" without it being too "posh". The complementary breakfast had a constant variety from which to choose and adequately line the stomach for a good sight seeing session. The communal space was what made us choose this hotel; not a choice we have any regrets about. We were able to pop in any time during the day and have a cup of tea or coffee and share experiences with fellow guests and on the occasions we made it between 4 and 6 o'clock we could serve ourselves sherry and cookies if we wanted to. Our only criticism is that the plumbing had its own character; being environmentally aware, I was concerned about the amount of water drawn off before any heated water emerged. I am also convinced any tales of ghosts are down to plumbing rumbles!

We had concert tickets at the Fillmore, this hotel was within easy walking distance. Great ambiance, full of antique furnishings & excellent customer service!

this a wonderful place to stay in San Francisco. It is quaint, well appointed and very helpful staff. the room we had was quiet and a romatic mood. Don't tell, as it is reasonablly priced and the breakfast in the morning is wonderful. We stay here when ever we go to the City.

Excellent service. Very homey!. Very courteous staff. Tea, sherry, and delicious cookies in the late afternoon. Breakfast in the morning was good.

Hotel staff was friendly and welcoming. Lobby seating area was very large with victorian furnishings. Two fire places to sit in front of. Very cozy. Room was large. Beds comfortable. Bathroom clean. TV old with funny instructions on how to turn on/off attatched. This hotel is fun to stay at!

This hotel was a delight! We were very impressed with the people that worked at the Queen Anne and the unique Victorian decor. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting something special for their stay in San Francisco.

Great hotel for the price. Very clean and hotel staff was terrific. The decor is over the top but it was a great deal in a nice neighborhood

Lovely furnishings and victorian atmosphere, with helpful and pleasant staff. Quiet location, too, for central location in SF.

I had the most amazing experience from another era at the Queen Anne. What it lacked in little luxuries (no valet)it more than made up for in experience. The moment that I walked into the lobby, I was in love. Every detail made me feel as if I was staying in a hotel in San Francisco in 1910. What a delight-fantastic staff, amazing lobby, great for hanging out and playing cards by the fire. I loved staying in this hotel. The breakfast was not gourmet but it was free and substantial enough to get me through lunch while saving cash so that I could splurge on other things throughout the day.

The Queen Anne is a completely gorgeous hotel, very Victorian throughout, and our stay was superb. The location, too, in Japantown, was ideal for getting around the city, as it is smack in the middle of everything. Our only complaint would have to be that the continental breakfast is a bit lacking. All that aside, I'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

The Jacuzzi tub from the room above leaked through the ceiling and into my shower! I took a shower in someone's dirty bath water. Hotel staff offered nothing,no room change or anything else.

My husband and I celebrated our first year wedding anniversary at the Queen Anne Hotel. The customer service was excellent! We planned to stay one night, but the next morning we decided to stay another night! Why? Well, let's say the bed was sooo comfortable we slept like babies and hey the atmosphere was so relaxing! Every morning continental breakfast is served, which includes, pan sausage, boiled eggs, danish, toast, bagels, fresh fruit, cereal, and juices. The only difficulty was the parking, but it was out weighed by everything else. Oh, and to top everything off we stayed off Octavia Street (my name :)! We will definately be taking our parents to this hotel with with character, comfort, and romance. This was the best find ever! You have to stay at the Queen Anne Hotel!

This was probably the most satisfying hotel stay I've ever had - from my cozy room to the relaxing lobby (complete with lit fireplaces)to the excellent staff! Keep up the good work, Queen Ann! Will recommend it highly!

The Queen Anne was a unique experience. The place was filled with antiques that appeared to be left from the previous owner which was a Episcopalian all girls school. Everywhere you walked you can find something new and interesting to look at. The lobby had a fire going in the fireplace and was a very comfortable place to sit and chat. Plus there was mention of a friendly ghost in room 410! How cool is that? On a more practical note our bathroom appeared to have been renovated recently and was quite nice. If you like the usual boring, standard next to the airport type of motel the Queen Anne may not be for you. But it certainly was for us!

This place was fantastic. If you like a hotel with alot of character and uniqueness not seen in the every day chain type hotels, stay at the Queen Anne. The continental breakfast was great, the room was spacious, and even though they are kind of tagged as a B&B, every room has its own bathroom, which exceeded my expectations. And, it's only about a 15 minute walk (mostly flat and downhill) to Union Square. My wife and I will definitely go back and I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

Loved our stay! quiet and cozy and felt victorian. Loved the fireplace and a chair to read in. Sherry, and tea, and coffee out, and real cups to drink from! Loved it that it was original and not a cookie cutter hotel. Liked that I could walk to Japantown and eat dinner. Liked that I could afford to do that with my two teenagers! Thank you!

Personnel très accueillant, charmant et serviable, de bons conseils. Des petits biscuits et du thé à l'arrivée disponible. Hôtel qui respecte l'architecture d'époque, superbe ambiance tranquille, foyer dans le lobby pour relaxer.Petite odeur un peu vieillot mais on s'y habitue. à une vingtaine de minutes à pied du Chinatown. Belle expérience d'époque.

Gammaldags design o interiör. Sköna sängar. Lite lyhört mellan rummen o mot korridoren. Tyst gata utanför. Continental frukost var riktigt omfattande i vad som ingick. Gångavstånd till bra restuaranger o till Waterfront.

Das Hotel ist nachdem man sich an den Stil gewöhnt hat ein Erlebnis. Es ist sehr perfekt und liebevoll eingerichtet. Das Personal war zu jedem Zeitpunkt erreichbar und sehr hilfsbereit. Sehr gut war auch der immer verfügbare Kaffee und die Kekse am Nachmittag.

Leider auf Großstadt Preis - Leistungsniveau. Das Hotel ist in seine Jahre gekommen, aber dennoch ein Schmuckstück. Es ist sauber und auch mit Details wie kuscheligen Sitzgelegeheiten Kaminfeuer usw. Nachmittagssherry ausgestattet. Das Frühstück reicht leider nicht an Starbucks heran ist aber durchaus ausreichend um in den Tag zu starten. Was noch hervorzuheben ist. Das Hotel stellt einen Rechner mit Internetzugang zur Verfügung an dem sogar kostenlos gedruckt werden kann, was uns sehr geholfen hat!

Das Hotel ist in einem wunderschönen großen alten Haus und mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Allerdings gibt sich das Alter des Hauses auch zum Teil zu erkennen. In unserem Zimmer war das Badezimmerfenster undicht und im Frühstücksraum flackerte ein Kronleuchter. Das kontinentale Frühstück war inklusive, ebenso drahtloser Wifi-Zugang. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und konnte auch gute Empfehlungen zu Restaurants in der Nähe usw. geben. Direkt vor dem Haus ist eine Bushaltestelle, aber vieles ist auch zu Fuß zu erreichen.

Unsere Buchung erfolgte aufgrund der Bewertung bei Hotels.com und der Lage. Wir waren 3 Nächte im Queen Anne Hotel und waren sehr zufrieden. Logischerweise ist das Hotel und auch die Einrichtung nicht sehr neu. So ist es ja auch beschrieben. Aber alles ist super sauber. Das Auto haben wir aufgrund der guten Lage für die Sehenswürdigkeiten innerhalb SF nicht benötigt. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Der Service, dass ein Concierge vorhanden ist, ist besonders schön. Hier haben wir auch noch tolle Tipps bekommen, wo in der Nähe gut (und günstig) gegessen werden kann. Also ein gelungener Aufenthalt. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Trevligt victorianskt hotell, öppen spis i salongen, personalen höll hög servicegrad, biltransport vid behov, concierge hjälper till med sightseeing planering. Trevligt med sherry o bisquits på eftermiddagen i salongen. Frukosten var inte upp till standard.

Ett hotell i fyra våningar i Victoriansk, gammalbrittisk, stil med tidsenliga möbler och inredning från 1900-talets början. Stora sällskapsrum och öppna spisar där gästerna kan avnjuta sherry och småkakor som ställs fram kl 16.00. Trevlig, tillmötesgående personal som gärna hjälper till med tips om utflyktsmål och restauranger. Ett plus för gratis internet - en kvart åt gången. Minus dock för den fantasilösa frukosten med alltför hårdkokta, fisksmakande ägg och trista hamburgare.
