Everyone was so nice to us. We would stay there anytime and told alot of people about how nice it was. Loved the whole place

If you are a light sleeper, don't stay here! You can hear every conversation in the hall and your neighbor's room. As an example, I woke up about 15 minutes before my neighbor's cell phone vibrated in the next room. Then I got to hear their entire conversation. I could hear everything said on the street, and since it is near some bars, there was plenty to hear.

An otherwise pleasant stay was marred by the rude attitude of the older woman clerk in the early morning hours who castigated me and another guest "for not scheduling our cabs" and who (until another clerk appeared) had nothing but disdain for those of us who had paid. While I'll be staying there again, I will also be mentioning this to the management - really - at the cost - we should expect a bit more...

The people that worked there especially the front desk was very nice, good location right down town . The bed was the best ever so comfortable some hotels you stay in the beds are very uncomfortable this is a deal breaker for me because the bed was very comfortable I will defeniatly stay there again and would recomend to others.

I chose to stay at this facility unfortunately while it was undergoing remodeling. Some of the hallways on some of the floors were a mess. However, the hotel in general was decent. CONS: the construction (this is a temporary condition) parking is an uncovered area in back of the hotel with no rear entrance, requiring that you walk around the block to re-enter the hotel. the room that I stayed in was tiny. The heat went out the first night I was there, but they fixed it before the second night. PROS: The staff were extremely nice and courteous. The appointments in my room were very nice. ALL THINGS CONSIDERED: It is a nice place, slightly overpriced, but from the looks of it, they are in the process of remodeling to make it much better. While I marked the survey that I would not stay there again, that is while construction is underway. When that is finished I would be happy to stay there.

Great location in downtown area, nice, old, quaint place to stay. Never ate in Restaurant so can't attest to the food, except for breakfast which was good. Rooms are old, but nice. It is true, the walls are thin, so be careful of what you do, and say because your neighbors will hear you!

hotel does not have shuttle service to airport or ferry dock. other hotels in juneau have such a service. therefore plan on adding 80 dollars or your stay. Russ erickson

The rooms are not large, but adequate and in a perfect, central downtown location. Within walking distance of the entire city. Only need a cab or bus to get to the airport! Highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in downtown Juneau!

The Baranof was in a great location and was extremely comfortable. The drawback was that there are very thin walls - you really can hear everything in adjoining rooms.

Location was good, hotel was clean and service was good also.

I thought the Westmark Baranoff was overpriced and looking a little tired. Having to pay single supplement is a big ask when the hotel's rooms are not the best. However, I was in Juneau which is an extremely expensive tourist destination.

Hotel is situated between the end of the tourist district and the Capital area. Although clean, with a great staff, and fairly well maintained, it is ready for an update. A room in this price range should get more than just a flat screen TV and nice bathroom fixtures. Fresh carpet, wall covering, drapes, desk etc are expected. This is owned by Holland Cruise Lines my expectations were higher. That said, the location is excellent and everything is either within walking distance or easy to get to by car. Check in using my reservation was effortless.

This hotel is a very old over 70 years and classic hotel. The rooms have upgraded bathrooms and new comfortable beds. It was very clean. The only downside is the noise. The adjoining room doors and the room doors to the hallway are original without any seals around them and gaps under them. Light from the adjoining rooms was visible around the doors and consequently one can hear any conversation, snoring etc of anyone in the adjoining room. The windows are also very old with almost no seals so outside noise is also a problem. The service was good particulary the front desk who moved us to a non adjoining room, food was average and cleanliness was good. The hotel would be great if they changed all the room doors.

Our accomdations in Juneau were excellent. No complaints about condition of hotel (recently rennovated) or room, dining or other services. This hotel seems to be the best one downtown and frequented by the local State government people due to the proximity to the Legislative Buildings and other government building. Close to coffee and shopping. A bit pricey but not out of the ordinary and worth the value.

the Westhof Baranof was a comfortable place to stay, except that I suspect it would be better if it has some air-conditioning, b/c we were on the 2nd floor and wanted to open up windows at night. But then there was street noise coming in. So ask for a room as high up as they have one at the time you book. It's a great location, close to coffee shops and Silver Bow Bagels and Bakery and an organic marker up the street one block.

I am a Senior and chose to travel by myself. I found the hotel gave me easy access to everything. The staff was very helpful in getting information and booking events for me. They were friendly, supportive, and interested in giving me excellent service at all times ,whether it was day or night.

The hotel's location was great! Close to shops, port area, dining. But it was a bit like a tired grande dame who has seen better days. The decor was OK, just a bit "wilted". The front desk staff was not as friendly as I would have liked, seemed a bit distracted. Our housekeeper was super! She always spoke to us and wished us well on our daily adventures. I would stay there again simply because of the excellent location in town.

Good hotel - probably the best in town but don't expect too much. Nice and clean an comfortable

The staff was awesome and very attentive to every detail of our stay. Great location, very clean, my only possible complaint was that rooms booked with a discount were much smaller than the regular priced rooms.

The room was well appointed and confortable. HD flat tv is a plus. On a negative note better sound proofing is NEEDED. Noise from the street could be cut if better windows were installed. Too much noise from the hallway - both nights when were there. Definitely needs better sound- proofing between rooms. I really dont want to hear someone talking on the fone quietly in the next room.

Pics do not match rooms. Tub was super small. Rooms are small. Building is older but maintained. Staff was friendly. Walls are thin and could hear the TV and talking next door. Place was good, I'd try another place before I would stay again just because I felt I was deceived by the online photos. I wanted a bit fancier place. All in all still a great trip!

The hotel itself was very clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and accommodating for my companion by moving us to a room with a fridge for her diabetic supplies. The interior was very spacious and pretty much what you would expect for an upper-mid-level hotel; updated interior furnishings, HDTV, surprisingly fast wifi, etc. The Westmark is located near the center of downtown which makes walking to and from local shops and restaurants convenient. The huge downside to this hotel is that it does not have a shuttle service to and from the airport or ferry terminal. Due to the great distance between the two (7-9 miles) the taxi to take us back and forth was a large expense that I had not anticipated. Combined, it was nearly what I paid for a night at the hotel! There is public transit available to help you visit the further points of interest but be sure to budget in plenty of time as they often late. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel for anyone without personal transportation staying in Juneau unless you are on business and have been provided taxi vouchers or per diem. There are other options for hotels downtown and the higher price that gets you a shuttle saves you a large sum of money in the end.

Comfortable hotel with the feel of a big chain. Bland rooms and decorations, but it was clean and comfortable. A big step up from the Alaskan, although not as "charming".

The hotel was fine, when I checked in the staff was helpful and told me about parking. There was another event going on and so parking was extremely limited. I was upgraded to a King size bed. The room was still really small, but for the price I paid it was fine. Since the hotel is downtown and it was a Thurs and Fri night, it was pretty loud. People singing and yelling on their way to and from different bars. The food was excellent, but the bartender in the lounge was almost rude. Overall, it was what I needed.

The location is fantastic, walking distance to the Capitol, most State Offices and the Convention Center. The food and the service were outstanding and can only be highly recommended. Since it is an older Hotel, the rooms are smaller but still very comfortable. The only negative I encountered, was the Streetsweeping at 4 AM every morning and if you sleep with the windows open it is pretty noisy.

I arrived late at night and I found out that the hotel has just an extremely limited parking area (about 20 cars), which was already full. So I had to drive around Juneau looking for a parking for almost an hour for finding a paying parking. I talked to the Manager the following morning expaining that the main reason I made a reservation at this hotel was for the parking promoted online, which is quitedifferent form the relity of the facts. He said he was sorry for my expereince, and that was it. As for the room, it was smelly, extremely small and I found human hair in the bathroom's shelves.

I almost did not stay at this hotel after reading all the other reviews plus what my friend who lives in Juneau told me. I called the hotel and was told that the higher floors are not noisy. I took the chance because I really liked the location. It is a convenient and easy place to stay. Not fancy but comfortable. I am glad I chose to stay at this hotel.

The Westmark is in a great location. The restaurant is excellent and the front desk very helpful. I spent a lot of time researching hotels in Juneau-unfortunately there really is nothing above a 2 1/2 star. The rooms at the Westmark are bare minimum-the bathrooms are the smallest I have every seen, the beds aren't comfortable and the walls are paper thin. But, it is the best hotel for the location.

Rooms are small but location makes up for it! I would stay here again no questions asked.

I stayed here at the end of a 2 week trip into the wilderness. The staff was extremely accomodating and had no problem with letting us store bags for the 2 weeks prior to our actual night of stay. The location is in the heart of Juneau (small town, all walkable). The hotel is nice, but a bit dated. Dont expect luxurious beds / showers, although everything was clean. The in house restaurant, The Gold Room, was incredible and definitely amongst the best in Juneau.

The Hotel was classic, and old, with small rooms, but aside from that - the bar area was comfy and the food there and in the cafe was Superb! I just wish we had more time, to try more of the meals. My compliments to the Chef!
