Rooms are really small. You can't open the fridge door properly as there is no enough space... NO PRIVACY. You hear the neighbours talking in next room all he time. Carpets look old and dirty... I was expecting something better...

The hotel has a great view of the Acropolis. Food and service was good, but the hotel is in desperate need of some maintenance and up keeping. The decor is nice but wasd done a long time ago and not much has been done to maintain the look.

I requested an upgrade room and paid a surcharge for this. Very ordinary room with ghastly outlook, dim and dismal and only one pillow For a hotel rated 5 star, this was not what I was looking for. No access to food until 7.30 pm - way to late if u have been travelling all day and need to eat. This review is for Hotels.com rather than the public domain - if your suppliers are charging for upgraded rooms then we should get what we pay for. I was very disappointed and it tainted the visit to Athens. I have used your booking service in Paris and Abu Dhabi recently and had a much better result.

This is one of those hotels that looks great in the lobby. I had to move rooms because the first room I got smelled like an ashtray. They were very fast, and moved me right away. The TV did not work. The room smelled musty. Those things didn't bother me.... as much as the two (yes, TWO) times that the showerhead fell on me while I was showering. The first time, I thought maybe it slipped and it was an accident. It hit me in the middle of my shower, right on top of my head. I didn't bother to tell the staff about it because I thought maybe it was a one-time thing. But, the next morning, the same thing happened. The toilet would not flush very well- you had to pump the handle to make it work. The food was mediocre, overpriced - except for breakfast. The view in the breakfast room is indeed wonderful, and the food is good. Not great, but definitely good. I will say, that when I complained to the manager in the morning, he was apologetic and very nice. He asked what he could do to make it up to me. But I also didn't care much since I was checking out. The staff was very good - polite, concerned, and asked how they could help. The room was immaculate and the cleaning staff did a great job. But overall, I would definitely not stay here again. Paying too much for internet, suffering through the bathroom annoyances - sadly not worth it just for nice staff and a good breakfast.

The hotel is old and tired. We had mold in our bathroom and the room hasn't been updated in 10 years. The TV set was older than I was. We did have a great view of the Accropolis but the noise from the restaurant/bar below us was really loud. This is no where near a 5 star hotel.

Was pleased with the hotel's location, we were able to walk everywhere (we only took one taxi) and there were plenty of good restaurants and cafes nearby. The rooftop pool was fine - a small area but good to be able to have a dip. The room ( a superior view room) was pretty standard, quite small and the views weren't really worth it. Felt more 4star than 5, as with most Greek hotels.

My little brother and I needed to book a hotel right when we arrived in Greece. We saw this hotel and it was rated 5*. The hotel is on a hill and a good 15 min walk to shopping. About 5 mins to food. Take note this is on a hill so climbing back up is not exactly the best experience. The staff were friendly and we paid for an upgrade to a suite. The food was quite pricey so we opted for the local cuisine. The hotel is quite old but has its charm. Great stay!

- nice facilities and location - nice restaurant and views over Acropolis - very firm and uncomfortable bed - very noisy: exterior (cars plus road works) and interior (you could hear the music/chats, shouts, shower from 2-3 rooms across)

The hotel was really nice and the room was quiet. We did not eat at the hotel as the prices were exceptionally high but we were so near the city this did not impinge on our visit. They charge for using internet which in this day is unusual. The rooftop pool and facilities are great and the views at night are wonderful. We would stay at the hotel if in Athens again.

Hotel St. George Lycabettus was billed as a 5 star hotel, but was not worth the money. The location is OK, but there are many that are much closer to the walking district. The room was nothing special at all. Not particularly comfortable & no character. Paid extra for a view of the street. Staff was friendly & helpful.

i really enjoyed my stay at this hotel, it was lovely and in a great location...

When they tell you that your room is overlooking a "garden courtyard" or "terrace," do not be fooled ---there may be a shrub or two in a courtyard waaaay down below, but the huge wall springing up from that courtyard (which apparently is the outdoor pool wall/foundation) is all you see.....rooms are cheaply done with fake wood flooring. If Madonna was spottted staying there, it must be that they have some fancy schmancy room designed just for her.....

It may well have been a 5 star at one time...but it's seen better days. Women at the front desk knew absolutely nothing... we asked for travel times to an island and she didn't look into the return only the departure... when asked why she said "you didn't ask for that" and didn't offer to look into it further... nor did she ask the price for us. The elevator is a disaster.. Our room looked out on a cement wall.

Top class hotel with a lovely breakfast area part of which overlooks the Acropolis.The buffet breakfast was first class. If you are on foot it is a bit of a hike up the hill towards Lycabettus Hill. This is fine if you want to stay in Kolonaki for the up-market shopping but it is a bit away from Plaka,Monastriki and the Acropolis However we got an excellent rate and would recommend the hotel subject to the above reservations.

we stayed there after a trip to the islands and were dissapointed. they sell this hotel in an untrue way. it is not a five star hotel by any stretch. and most of the people were rude.

When I travel to Athens I always choose this hotel because of the magnificent view. Hotel staff is most helpful, also upon request to change rooms. Fitness and wellness in the groundfloor is great.

un hotel tres bien situé avec une vue magnifique mais une qualité de service déplorable , des prix de consommation et de repas exorbitants . les chambres sont minuscules , les salle de bain basiques. Il y a tres peu de transats à la piscine . le personnel est désagréable

N'est plus ce qu'il était. Le personnel à l'accueil est devenu hautain et désagréable. J'étais un habitué de cet hôtel, où je séjournai lors de mes passages à Athènes, je n'y remettrai plus les pieds. La chambre était bruyante sur un immeuble en construction, sans vue (j'avais pourtant payé pour) et j'y étais allé au moins 5 ou 6 fois auparavant. Très déçu.

Wunderschönes Luxushotel,das eine exklusive Privatssphäre garantiert. Es befindet sich im elegantesten Viertel Athens, dem sehr geschmackvollen Kolonakidistrict. Am Fuße des bezaubernden Lyabettushügels gelegen,auf dessen Spitze sich eine kleine,wunderschöne,weiße typisch griechisch-orthodoxe Kirche befindet,umgeben von herrlicher Natur mit typisch griechisch-mediteraner Vegetation (Zypressen,Pinien,etc.),hat man das Gefühl gar nicht in Athen zu sein,sondern eher auf einer griech.Urlaubsinsel,obwohl das Zentrum nur 3-4 Minuten per Taxi entfernt ist! Im Gegensatz zu anderen Luxuxhotels in Athen bietet das St.George Lycabettus aufgrund seiner hervorragenden Lage völligen Schutz vor dem ständigen,überall vorherrschenden Straßenlärm,und gewährt eine sehr angenehme,von der herrlichen Natur begleitete Ruhe. Da ich schon in verschiedenen Luxushotels in Athen übernachtet habe,war dies das wichtigste Kriterium,mich wiederum für das St.George zu entscheiden. Die Zimmer sind sehr schön eingerichtet, haben angenehme Farben und bieten einen wundervollen Ausblick auf die Akropolis, das exklusive Kolonakiviertel,Athen alsauch den zauberhaften Lycabettushügel,was auch ganz besonders bei Sonnenuntergang und nachts sehr romantisch ist. Der Roomservice und das Restaurant sind absolut exzellent. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich,aufmerksam und höflich,man wird sehr individuell behandelt. Weiterhin viel mir etwas auf,was gerade in Griechenland sicherlich eine Ausnahme ist: die Taxis ,auf deren pünktliches Eintreffen ich als Geschäftsreisender angewiesen war und die ich immer über die Rezeption des Hotels bestellt hatte,waren immer überpünktlich vor Ort, meist 2-3 Minuten vor gewünschten Zeitpunkt! Auf dem Dach des St.George befindet sich auch ein Swimmingpool,der bis 20 Uhr geöffnet ist,von welchem man eine unglaubliche Aussicht auf die Akropolis,Athen,die Landschaft und das Meer hat. Ich bin ein vielgereister Geschäftsmann ,wobei ich immer in exzellenten Luxushotels übernacht

Hotel located in the fashionable Kolonaki area of Athens. Fantastic view from top floor restaurant and swimming pool overlooking Acropolis and most of Athens, Piraeus and the Saronic bay. Outside hotel rooms with balcony offers the same view over Athens. Stayed in inside room which does not have any view at all, except for a wall. Room furniture a bit dated, but still nice, clean with a boutique style bathroom.

Located in a very nice area of Athens and has great view of the city and Acropolis. Felt safe walking around the area also late at night. Clean comfortabel rooms, good service, many good restaurants nearby.
