Hotel and service were very nice, location, not so much

Hi attended the Exppolit Conference May 1-5 at the DoubleTree Hotel and Convention Center at the Miami Airport. Amazing place. The rooms was huge and well appointed. The breakfast buffet was ample and varied. The restaurant and bar had a good variety of food choices and although not stellar, were still very good. All interactions with staff were kind and professional. A great stay

The room was nice - end unit was very large....HOWEVER.....when we walked in it reeked of HEAVY smoke. I called front desk but they didn't do anything, such as offer me a new room. The entire hotel is non-smoking (so they say). Everytime we entered the room it smelled awful. My purse and clothing smelled like smoke even when I got home. Way worse than any Vegas room, where you expect smoking. Even worse than casinos.

If you are looking ro stay in a hotel close to Miami Airport I would definitelly recommend Double Tree. The Service is very good, rooms are big and confy and very clean. We did not have any meal at the hotel so I can't say anything about it.

very nice, better than we had expected for the Miami Airport area

It is a very nice, clean and good hotel, customer service was good. But the location it wasnt good, is a construction close by but you wont hear nothing and the airport is really close but is not noisy... and the price was cheap.. i like it!!!

Very nice stay at DoubleTree near Miami airport. We were just 12 mins from South Beach and Bayside shops and just 5 minutes from Dolpin Mall. Nice pool and my son LOVED the indoor basketball court. We will definitely stay here again.

Very clean room with friendly staff and great facilities!

pros: this doubletree seems newly renovated and nicer than most. got upgraded for free. it's just 5 min from the airport. cons: the airport shuttle is not a great system. it's difficult to get on, people just bombard it out of order.

I don't even know where to begin. Upon Check-in, it took 4 hours and 3 phone calls to receive a refrigerator. Our bath tub didn't drain throughout our entire 6 day stay. It took 1-3 hours to receive towels after requesting from front desk. Then they would bring 2 towels instead of 4. The bar downstairs is a joke, completely understaffed. We ate an entire dinner without anything to drink. When I went to the bar to get waters it took over 10 minutes so my food was cold. The onion rings had the skin of the onion in them so they weren't even edible. They replace them with the yuca fries which were old and dry. The hot tub was cold. The pool had no towels. I went to the front desk 3 times asking for more towels at the pool, and they finally came after an hour of us being cold without towels at the pool. The front desk seemed to be attentative, but the rest of the hotel was a disaster. After all this all that they offered me at the front desk was 2 free breakfasts. No thank you, I don't want your free breakfast.

Our stay was only one night, but it was GOOD. We asked for and got a late checkout. It was a busy Event Weekend so Prices were up. Still made for a Good nights stay!!!!

The bed was good and comfortable, but the towels where old and hard, there were stains everywhere, the ironing board was so dirty and stained, it was like a cheap motel. lipstick on the shower curtains, holes in the shower curtains. I complained, they changed me to another room, it was a little bit better, but the stains (like toothpaste stains) where everywhere, the doors and even walls the ironing board in the second room was also really dirty. I have pictures. It doesn't measure up to a double tree hotel at all. Needs serious renovations.

Beautiful hotel, room was wonderful--clean, large and comfortable. The $10 per person shuttle to the Port of Miami was very much appreciated. There's a small indoor shopping area as well as a food stand that was convenient for a quick breakfast in the morning.

We were in Fort Lauderdale / Miami area for five days without concrete plans. We stayed at the Doubletree due to a discount coupon. The hotel was a little dated. The staff was very helpful even though there was a language barrier some times. We stayed for two nights so it wasn't a bad hotel. I had to go to store in lobby to purchase soda as there was no machine on my floor or the floor below. The room was straightened very nicely while we were out. I feel that Doubletree needs to rehab for hotel to be considered three stars or lower room rate. The location was easily accessible from highway.

We had an overnight stay on our way from Panama back to Chicago. There was dinner for 2 special at Rioja grill and food was great and super affordable. There is a free shuttle bus to and from the airport, which was very convenient. Just be sure to go to second floor departures to catch bus.

Overall it was decent but a strange experience! First the shuttle service from the airport was terrible! I called 5 times to remind them we were waiting and was assured they would arrive in 10 minutes..after an hour we were finally picked up. However, the manager kept the pool open an extra hour for us so bad and good! The hotel was nice and the pool was great and our room was comfortable. However, the shower did not drain so I had to stand in 3 inches of dirty water after I cleaned out the long black hairs on the bottom of the tub...can you say yuck? Also somehow the door to the bathroom locked so in the middle of the night I could not get in and then in the morning they sent maintenance and the man had to tear the door frame apart to pop the lock and get us in. You would thin the would have a better way to enter. The breakfast was great and the service to the airport in the morning was timely...so like I said, a mixed bag of good and bad.

The Hotel was fine. Front desk check in was horrible..even the too few people at the desk thought so and were frustrated. Service and food in the Cafe/Bar was just plain poor. We ordered two meals. One was served and they couldn't find the other??? Waitress tried to duck the issue. We were shocked.

Love the airport shuttle. Great for 1 night before getting on a cruise. Took a shuttle to the port for $10 per person, but need to make these arrangements when you arrive at the hotel. Short taxi ride to Walmart.

We booked this hotel bc they offered a free airport shuttle when we arrived, and had a way to get to the port for only $10pp. Room rate was fairly high--about $180-- which was a lot for a quick stay. They also offered a shuttle to the dolphin mall for $5pp round trip, which was another bonus since there is nothing close to the hotel. The gym is really nice, but the treadmills shut off as we were running. Equip was clean, new, etc. I didn't hear any airplanes- yay!

Nice hotel with good service and close to the airport. However, it costs abt 30 dollars each way to downtown/south beach so can be an expensive proposition and may make more sense to pay a higher price for a downtown hotel and save on travel time...

The best beds ever!!! my daughter didnt want to leave the hotel.

Had a nice stay but not very child friendly.

Good value for the price. Only thing that could have been better was to find a couple of restaurants located somewhere close by.

This stay was not at all what I expected and was quite disappointing. From the unprofessional conduct of the valet when we arrived, not receiving the world famous cookie at check in, constant requests for basic necessities like towels and tissue, and dirty dishes being left in our room, I looked forward to leaving. However, management did respond quickly to our concerns and made efforts to correct the recurring issues.

Despite a tiny concern at first as main entrance was closed due to a new driveway and there was no signage. This hotel was spotless, great large clean room, good staff, pool area was open late with tons of room. Great value

The room has a lot of smoke odor, the rest of it was very good

great bed,pillows were good, friendly staff missed the choc chip cookies, We were disappointed we were only there 4 hours Our plane was late getting in & had to caught a early flight out

The hotel premise is excellent. Nice looking room and comfortable bed. Service came a little short on the friendliness, but still acceptable.
