Kensington Park Hotel - سان فرانسيسكو

Fantastic hotel. Soooo glad we stayed there. Staff was superb and accommodating.

the valet parked our car between two cars that were parked and we could not get out. after 15 min i asked the front desk to move the cars and they said there was nothing they could do the cars were waiting to be parked!!!

Cutting corners with low quality bathroom amenities, ie bath products toilet tissue and facial tissue, but linens were fine, bed comfortable. Remote didn't work, channels limited, so it's a lesser hotel than I would usually frequent, but if you just need a place to sleep, this one saves some money!

Gloria, the young lady who worked the front desk was awesome! So sweet and friendly!!! She made our stay very enjoyable! The room size was a lot smaller than the pic but was very comfortable !! Would stay here anytime but we will not return to a city that cost this much to visit! Over priced on everything!

We all love the location and the people at the Hotel, unfortunately, what the website has as a photo, and what the room really looks like is a bit off, the four of us could barely fit in the the room. pretty small, compared to what you see online. (and no...we're not big gals, the biggest girl weighs 140) We had to change rooms and it was only 3 feet wider, but it worked. probably won't stay again, if it's over 1 nights stay, too tight!

HOtel location was great and the staff was very helpful. The room was small but nice, bed comfortable. We did not have a TV remote in the room, we did get one, but all the controls did not work. There is no cafe or restaurant onsite, but location was extremely convenient.

Hotel is on Post Street a half block away from Union Square. Great location for shopping and seeing the city. Hotel itself is aging a bit--but has a bit of charm. Felt a little like a trip back to the 1930's. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

I am so happy I stayed at this hotel on my recent stay. The location of the hotel was great, the staff was very attentive, and the extra perks of the hotel were great, particularly the morning coffee and evening sherry. I would highly recommend a stay here and hope to be able to make it back to San Francisco soon.

I spend one week a month in the Union Square area and have tried a lot of hotels. I really enjoyed the Kensington. It was very reasonable, and the rooms were clean and very quiet, which is a big deal to me. The wireless also worked very well. The only downside is the size of the bathroom. Big enough for 1 person, but not for 2.

The Kensington is a nice place to stay when one want to be close to Market Street and the shopping opportunies that area does offer. The hotel is in a 1920ties building, I believe still owned by the 'Elks Club', which has also their local lounge in the building . As there is also a small theater in this building, you will encounter all kind of folks in the lobby. For some this is interesting for others it's annoying. The hotel is chamingly English in various ways (e.g. a hot tea offer in the lobby...), the elevator with a bench to sitdown and the classical mirrors is really old fashioned - but surely functiong,t oo. Service during my stay was impeccable - a hotel with no nonsense, but defintely above average! Other than the thin window paine and frame that let you hear to much street noise to early, everything in the room was fully functioning and the WIFI easy to access - so I would consider a return, if I have to stay in that area again.

The Kensington Park Hotel is beautiful, historic, and up to date with decor and ammenities. I loved the closeness to shopping, sight seeing, cable cars and muni bus transportation. Parking is expensive so avoid bringing your car if possible. You don't need it to see San Francisco.

We cannot say enough about the wonderful experience my husband and I had at the KP SF The agents & staff bent over backwards to make sure our stay was fantastic. It was a Dream to have such wonderful servants at our hotel and I do mean servants. They could not do enough for us. They were AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will return there everytime I am traveling to San Francisco. The location was fabulous. Thank you so much for a terrific vacation to San Francisco, Kensington Park!

We had an amazing experience with our trip to San Francisco...and our stay at the Kensington was the icing on the cake! Thank you for exceeding our expectations! We will recommend you to our friends and family- our aunt & uncle are going to SF in June and we have already told them they MUST stay at your hotel! We plan to return to SF and we will definitely be staying with you on our next visit! Thanks again!

I was here on stay for a conference and leisure. The hotel service was amazing, especially room service. Twice I stayed in late because of the weather and left only to get food. An hr or so after I returned, my room was already cleaned. They seemed like magical elves. The location is great because there is easy access to the Bart, Trolley, and Bus, making traveling around the city easy. There are a number of great restaurants nearby, as well as good shopping. It was a short 10-15 minute walk to the Moscone Center for the conference I was attending. Morning coffee and tea were great and a nice way to start your day. This hotel is a great bang for your buck.

I stayed at the Kensington Park recently during a business trip. Found the location to be very convenient to Union Square. Interesting older architecture, yet the room seemed quite up to date. (only exception-- they need more outlets at the desk for laptop, phone, etc) For me the best feature was the really friendly and helpful staff. Hot tea and sherry in the lobby during the afternoon was a nice touch, as well!

The staff are all super friendly and quite accomodating. Everyone was quite helpful with whatever needs we had. Free Wi-Fi was good too, as was the afternoon sherry. Advisable to get a room on the backside of the hotel, as opposed to the streetside (since street cleaners come between 2-6am). Washroom did not have a fan, which was unusual. The Farallon restaurant is right beside the hotel and has excellent Happy Hour deals. I would certainly stay here again.

Very comfortable hotel with a very friendly staff. Complementary tea and sherry in the evenings was a wonderful treat. Can't beat the location, walking distance to everything. We only had two issues: we we're charged an extra fee for valet parking because we had a SUV, this was not mentioned on the website; and, we were informed at check in that the hotel's water system would be completely shut off the next morning one hour before check out. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay very much.

I booked this hotel after reviewing all the comments from several websites, including the hotels.com as they were all in the positive side. We went to San Francisco partly to celebrate our 10th Anniversary, and partly since hubby was attending a conference in Moscone. Location of this hotel is great since it is in a prime location that is close to Moscone, and my daytime shopping area. Price is reasonable too. Frontdesk service is great. They gave excellent recommendations on local traveling and restaurants. They can even remember our surnames when we returned to the hotel the next day. Gloria is very helpful. Size of room is a bit small, although we paid to upgrade upon check-in to get the room early in the morning, which the size should be larger already. View is great, overlooking the union square and nob hill (we were in a corner room). There may be noises from the cable cars at night though, but bearable. We enjoyed our stay very much!

This was my first trip to San Francisco, primarily for a conference, but we had some off time as well, and I enjoyed every second of it!! The hotel was right in Union Square, very convenient to all the major shopping and good eats. The hotel staff was phenomenal, always friendly whenever we entered and exited the building, gave us a map and directions whenever we had questions, flagged down cabs and loaded and unloaded our luggage for us!! We were VERY impressed with the overall atmosphere and service we received from the hotel staff. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel to ANYONE and EVERYONE who visits San Francisco. A special Thank you to Kensington Park Hotel for making our experience amazing!!

We had a comfortable time thanks to the friendly staff. We also enjoyed the impressive decorations of rooms, elevators, and lobby. The location is very convenient, of course. You'll enjoy live music at the lobby on Wedensday. Note that, however, there is one caveat to the size of room. We thought one Deluxe Two Doubles was fine for three adults, but the beds were too small for two adults and they cannot provide an extra bed due to the regulation of fire department. So we took another room (They told that this room size was usual in most of hotels in San Francisco, so this may not be a drawback of this hotel).

Great location within the city for restaurants and shopping around Union Square. Staff was friendly and very helpful as needed. The beds were extremely comfortable and great linens. We will definately consider staying here again on our next visit to San Francisco.

Every year I attend a show at Moscone Center. I look for boutique hotels to stay for their unique qualities. The Kensington Park is ideally located 1/2 block from Union Square. In comparison to other boutique hotels in the are I would say they need to step it up a notch. I recommend a bit more detail to cleanliness. They advertized a gym but it was 2 blocks away in their sister hotel. One morning I had to take a cold shower. I understand things happen, but they should have comp a free drink or something. The decorating was adequate but not wow. The concierge, Rubin, was wonderful and made spot on recommendations. I would also recommend that the "Gym" put up hooks for coats and replace the TV that seemed to be out for repair.

Great little boutique hotel in Union Square. Great location. Many reviews said rooms small but we thought fine. Bed was fantastic. Hotel staff wonderful! Tip on booking: try to book room on Nob Hill side of hotel as it is much quieter. Enjoy!

Wonderful stay! Charming hotel...great room...you cannot beat the locatin--walking distance to the subway..very friendly staff.. Definitley will be staying again!

Great hotel great staff especially if you belong to the Elks lodge

We didn't sleep well...the bed wasn't all that comfortable. However, the service was very, very good and the location was PERFECT...across the street from the St. Francis and steps from Union Square. We loved it, except for the sleeping part, which was just ok.

good location, great value, very attentive staff. stayed for 3 nights, used valet parking. The room is a little tight for 2 people who are not a couple

DO NOT ORDER Breakfast from the menu in the room because the menu is OUTDATED. The TV in my room was , as far as I could tell, hooked up to any type of antenna(Screen snow). NO Cable, poor water pressure and THIN WALLS. NOT what I had in mind..and the breakfast WAS AWFUL from wherever it came from. This place needs to update!

Location was great and rooms were clean. Only downside were that walls were thin so heard everything going on around our floor.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Kensington Hotel. The location was perfect. It's nice to stay in a small hotel that offers all the amenities of a larger chain hotel. My only concern was the pop machine was empty.

Bathroom tiles were a little shabby, but everything else was up to snuff. The night-time staff were really great!

Our first visit and after reading reviews of many other Union Square Hotels, choose this one. It cost a little more than the lowest priced but I believe it was well worth it from my research. The room and bathroom were spacious. We had a king bed. The hotel was quiet and yet just a half block off Union Square.There were no surprise added costs.

This hotel was VERY comfortable and fabulously decorated. We really loved the beds and they offered a very comfortable nights sleep. There was a protest going on at Union Square at 7am, so we were woken by chanting with a bull horn..irritating. The traffic noises at 7am were a bit much also. Even with the window closed, expect to hear a fair amount of noise. The reception desk staff was wonderful-very helpful in offering us options for dinner, even telling us price ranges for the options.

Two of your employees, Thai your maintenance man, and Bob your concierge, were outstanding. They were friendly, courteous and hard working. We felt that Bob was not treated fairly by a co worker who berated him in our presence because he was having trouble using the google map on the computer. The room was very comfortable except that the heater was not working and this was Dec. 27th and the weather was extremely cold. We were given a space heater that worked great but it would have been nice to have a working heater. The bed was fluffy and comfortable with great sheets and bedspread. The invoice read one amount but my credit card statment had a different amount. Not sure why that happened. I was charged four dollars more than the invoice read. Other than that the room was great and the experience was nice.

Great location, it also has free drink on the lobby which makes me feel sweet. But the room seems too small for 3 of us.

Recently took my mom on a whirlwind tour of San Francisco and we greatly enjoyed our overnight stay at the Kensington Park Hotel. The staff are extremely helpful (especially Bob & Rueben) and the location (1/2 block from Union Square) can't be beat. The tea and sherry service in the lobby is also nice. Our room was small, but comfortable and the furnishings are quite unique. The only criticism would be the coffee service in the morning (coffee is available in a closet on the 9th floor)--next time I'll grab my coffee while I'm still in my pjs before getting ready for the day. The happy hour at the restaurant next door to the hotel is also very nice. We definitely recommend this hotel to others and would certainly stay there again!

While the hotel is a smaller one -the rooms were fine and it is a great location being right near Union Square. Very quiet too considering it is downtown. Staff was great too.

With the other options available in the area at comparable pricing, I'll look elsewhere next time. Location is very good for shopping and dining, but the staff was more interested in chatting amongst themselves than assisting guests.

we stay in lots of different hotels in S.F. depending on rates our days of travel. There are many charming boutique hotels and this one we would gladly return to. Literally steps to the cable cars on Powell, 1 block to Chinatown gate, lots of very good restaurants, including one in same building. Walking distance to theatres, major shopping, all the city has to offer. We don't care about views since there are so many on stepping out onto the street and many great hotels cannot offer views! Service especially friendly and helpful. Basic double room is small; great shower and amenities.

My daughters and I stayed in a Dbl Deluxe corner room. We loved it. We could see the square from our window (1 of 2). The customer service was terrific. If you like small boutique hotels with charm , you will love this.
