Wonderfuly clean. Very comfortable and accommodating. Good amenities including organic menu options. Close to the Capital.

GREAT hotel. Wonderful service, very pleasant helpful staff.

Fancy hotel in a very good location in DC. Very good service from staff. Also pretty pricey, but that was expected. However, the bed was uncomfortable, and no matter how far down I turned the temperature on the thermostat, the room temperature would not go below 72. I had high hopes of a great experience, but I am disappointed to say the experience was not worth the price.

The Hay-Adams is the best in DC--great service, perfect location and elegant.

Beautiful hotel and the service was great.....the bar/lounge was a little to nois, filled with the after work crowed

The Hay-Adams Hotel is an outstanding hotel and the only place to stay if you are visiting Washington, D.C. and want a 5-star hotel. It is directly across from the White House and therefore in a perfect location to visit the National Mall, monuments, museums etc. as well as being close to Georgetown. The hotel is a beautiful historic building and the lobby is wonderfully scented by a giant bouquet of white roses. The rooms are absolutely lovely with high ceilings, original molding (ours had a large bay window as well), the beds and bed linens are in natural tones and are so lush and luscious it is hard to get out of bed to go sightseeing! The service is incomparable. I had a formal dinner to go to on Saturday night, discovered that I needed some emergency tailoring on my gown and the concierge got a tailor to come to my room, pick up my dress, and had it ready for me 3 hours later! It was just amazing. And after your weekend or stay- don't miss the Sunday champagne brunch, which is outstanding. I travel all over the world for my work and the Hay-Adams Hotel is my very favorite hotel in the U.S.

A one night pampering and preparation before a conference stay at the Omni Shoreham at Woodley Park, which I also recommend, was just what I needed. Well worth the extra expense. Five Stars!

The hotel was conveniently located. The service was the the highlight of the hotel. The bar resturant had great drinks and tasty food. The breakfast menu was extremely expensive and not worth the money. This is not a child friendly hotel and they do not offer a child's menu. Parking is $45 a day.

If you are looking for the quintessential Washington hotel the Hay Adams is it. With unsurpassed customer service and an old world feel of hotels past look no further then this fine hotel were elegance is standard issue.

This was my second time staying at the Hay-Adams and I remembered it as a refined old hotel in the perfect location, across from the White House. Despite one glitch, that our room was not ready at 4:00 check in time which was a little inconvenient since we had 6:00 dinner reservations, it remains a very nice hotel. Other than the check-in, the service was very good, including the provision of clean towels at the entry door to refresh after hot and humid sightseeing in the capital.

this is a good hotel hard to fault.

Excellent hotel, especially considering the price. Staff was friendly, only downside was the shower!

Hotel and room were very nice, but room was a little on the small side, and overlooked a "central courtyard" (for mechanical equipment, etc.), which provided light but not much of a view. Staff were freiendly and extremely helpful.

room was very, very cold when we got in and it took us 2 follow-up calls for someone to come up. I wouldn't have minded but my older parents were with me so they were uncomfortable. I wanted to treat my parents to a nice and historical hotel such as The Willard but I was disappointed. The restaurant on the premise Cafe du Parc was not impressive either. However, the staff were courteous and you cant beat the location.

Absolutely the most wonderful hotel; well deserving of all its amazing ratings. Service was impeccable, staff friendly and incredibly helpful, rooms just amazing.

I found The Hay-Adams to be the perfect base for sightseeing in D.C. Extremely comfortable room, great service, good food, wonderful concierge. Not inexpensive, but worth the cost.

There is a reason the Hay Adams is still a standout in a city full of great hotels. The service was personal, and even better than what I expected. (My 15 year old son even commented on the fantastic service!) Everyone from the door man to the front desk to room service was outstanding. How I wish I could have the HA housekeepers- they were incredible. We will definitely go back!

I love the Hay Adams. Makes you feel like you are in a special place - and then when you walk out the door and see the White House, you know it's true! And there is decent coffee up the streeet!

The hotel location and service is excellent. The only complaint I have is with the noise level. A large trash ben was emptied everyday outside the rooms on the alley side. The 1st morning was 5:30AM and felt like an earthquake.

The hotel room was for our daughter and her new husband after their wedding. The Hay-Adams did everything humanly possible to make them feel like special and treasured guests.

Gracious and Lovely Hotel, very close to major D.C. sites. We can't wait to go back.

Life does not get better than this. Even in a room with no view the hotel was a great value. The location cannot be beat.

While we were able to stay free as our reward night from Hotels.com, it is truely a lovely hotel. Yes you expect to tip the staff as ytu would at any 4-5 star hotel. The only disappointment was that the restaurant was not open for dinner and it was a saturday night. Not sure f this is normal (which appears to be the case) or if it was becuse of a large wedding reception that night. But there are plenty of fine restaurants in DC to pick from so not really a problem.

Due to the age of the hotel construction, the floors squeak when walking on them. Whenever the occupant of the room directly above ours would walk around at night, the noise (squeaks) would wake us from our sleep. the bathroom would not accommodate two persons at the same time. Very minimal size of room accommodations. The hotel is showing its age and does not do well when compared to other newer hotels in the same price category.

I can't say enough good things about our experience at the Hay Adams. I have never experienced this combination of excellent customer service and beautiful surroundings; Hay Adams is like staying at the Plaza, only with a smaller facility (I consider this a plus) and without the snobbery that often comes with the high-end service at the Plaza (another plus, obviously). The management has clearly taken the time to create a well-designed experience from the moment a guest arrives to the moment he leaves. Everything is considered; nothing has been missed. We will absolutely be back.

I loved this hotel! The staff and rooms were elegant and beautiful. Nothing was missed! I could move in there tomorrow and be happy forever! The view of the White house is AMAZING~~ and if your room doesn't look out to it - they will arrange for you to go up on the roof and take pictures! the staff is as friendly as can be and very accommodating! The concierge is a true Concierge - they handle everything for you! We were lucky enough to stay in the room that was Sasha and Melia's room while they stayed there - My kids were uber impressed to sleep in the same bed as them. The only thing i didn't like about the hotel was that the lobby smelled like dog pee? There are a lot of guests with dogs - as a dog owner myself I can totally appreciate that. But I know once 1 does his business on the carpet every other dog has to!

This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff is very gracious and helpful. The rooms are very nice without being overstated. Nicest comforters ever. Great pillows too.

Loved the location of the hotel. White House was just across Lafayette Park from the hotel. The Concierge Service was the best. Got us great tickets for the Lincoln Center and information on touring the Capitol. All the staff was friendly, professional and did whatever they could to make our stay memorable. Food in the restaurant and bar was pricey and not that great.

Très bel établissement avec un personnel très gentil et compétent, très bons souvenirs à connaitre..!!! Très bon emplacement idéal pour les déplacements. Vue magnifique sur la Maison Blanche et la ville ainsi que sur le parc par notre chambre au 8eme étage. chambre très bien équipée avec musique !!! Internet Wifi gratuit appréciable. Des bouteilles d'eau bien fraiches et serviettes vous sont proposées tous les matins avant vos départs en visites et à votre arrivée de très bons raffraichissements et cookies à disposition.... Bar resto très sympa pour le soir bonne qualité de produits, idem pour le petit déjeuner. (on s'est régalés) Bref superbe choix!!!!

Everything was very good. The dinner food however was not at the level of the hotel though, still it is worth staying there.

Muy cómodo, servicio muy bueno con mucha atención, el punto negativo - servicio en el restaurante en desayuno bastante lento. Pensamos que habíamos reservado habitación con vista al patio interior pero nos dieron habitación exterior con vistas de edificio al lado. De todas maneras volveremos.

excellente situation et excellent accueil pareil pour la chambre qui etait au calme, la prochaine visite de washington je ne cherche pas d'autres endroit pour y loger

We couldn't have been happier with our choice of hotel in Washington. The hotel is ideally situated across the park from the White House with superb views over the complex from the top floors. Every member of staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. The room was extremely comfortable with some nice extra touches such as fresh cookies and smoothies for the kids' nightcap. We will definitely return to this excellent hotel in its elegant surroundings.
