This place was a great hotel, great location and a rooftop restaurant the is only to be believed!! Staff were very friendly and helpful, and a great location.

The location was good to catch the bus or train. View was gorgeous from the restaurant. The food in the restaurant was horrible, but the food and service in the bar was spectacular. Spyros and Yianas were so kind and took good care of us. Nothing exceptional about the hotel, but it was ok.

The restaurant and bars are Amazing as are the public areas. The room however just ok. The towels were very well used. And there was literally dust on the vanity. I wiped my finger through it. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

We stayed in one of the panarama view rooms. The room and the view were spectacular.

Good Hotel overall. Nice location. Beautiful view of Acropolis from the 7th floor (restaurant).

Used to be 5* maybe 15 years ago. Only good - the location. Close to Plaka/Acropolis etc. Wafer thin walls, can hear people next door snoring, flashing toilets etc. Housekeeping start hoovering 8am - not good way/time to get woken up. Cheeky hotel charges 3 euros for simple local bottle of water that cost 20 cents in the shop next door and any other 4 star hotel gives for free. Breakfast basic - not worth the extra euros you will pay for it. Much better choices in Athens - dont get misled by the 5* rating and the fancy communal areas - hotel is not a good one if you cant get a good night sleep - especially for the money they charge you. Avoid!!!

I loved the hotel's location for walking around town; the staff even helped guide us to a mass transit stop that is up the road from the hotel. I look forward to staying at the Royal Olympic Hotel again.

This Hotel is centrally located in Athens. I had no complaints with this Hotel.

Very good hotel. Surprisingly quiet at night for city centre. No music channels on the tv. Internet stopped working after first day.

Comfortable hotel with friendly staff. Breakfast was excellent with panoramic views of the acropolis and Athens. Central location so walkable to the Acropolis, Plaka, Parliament etc.

Great hotel! Got upgraded as we were travelling in November and there were not so many tourists. The hotel room was fantastic, the view great, expecially from the rooftop bar/restaurant. Only one point not very optimal is the sport facility, which was outside the hotel, around the corner and quite hidden. Other than that very helpful personal.

We were very satisfied.

Reception staff very friendl, helpfu and informativel. The most wonderful views from the roof terrace both day and night. The hotel is perfect for site seeing, most sights are in walking distance of the hotel. Our room had a balcony overlooking the pool and was a perfect location for two days pre cruise. We would stay again.

This hotel is perfectly located to see the ancient sites in Athens. You can walk to everything. The king sized bed turned out to be two twins pushed together under a single headboard. The restaurant is very expensive. The food is ok, but you pay for the view.

We only had one night at the Royal Olympic but would stay again in a heartbeat. Beautiful room overlooking the ruins that could be seen lying in bed. Gorgeous, spacious marble bath. Reasonable cost and amazing rooftop restaurant with magnificent views!

We had the Panorama View and it was beautiful!! The room was excellent. Sadly, we were not impressed by the lack of courtesy shown by the breakfast staff. They were unsmiling and unhelpful. Although there was abroad selection of dishes, the quality was poor. No guidance was given as to the use of the Buffet. In contrast, our evening meal on the terrace was very good and the service excellent. The rest of the Hotel staff were extremly polite and the Doorman in particular was informative and helpful.

Please o not believe the photographs on the website, the hotel is not an iota of those. Rooms are small and basic, hotel is not ad grand as the photographs show. The best thing about the hotel is the location.

Great lobby, great location, and great rooftop view. It is walking distance to all major Athen's sites and the metro/bus station. However, the front desk/concierge service was unappealing. They were not helpful when it came to ask for directions. Also, the pool closed too early for a summer night.

The hotel was a five star hotel at a three star price. The lobby is grand, the pool was fabulous after a day of walking aroung Athens. The beds are comfortable. And everything is clean. The breakfast Buffet is well done with hot and cold items and very extensive. The roof top garden view for breakfast and dinner was spectacular. The Acropolis is about 4 blocks away. The temple of Zeus is across the street and the Plaka is across the street. FYI the pizza next door was the best. The staff was very helpful. We stayed an extra night!

We were booked in a smoking room, but were given a non-smoking room. When we called the front desk, they moved us right away. The hotel was lovely and elegant, the front desk staff and bellmen were very polite and extremely knowledgeable. The roof top lounge had an amazing view but unless you take the tours, you have to do a fair amount of walking. The food at the hotel is very pricy, and you will spend at least 175$ for a bottle of basic alcohol, like Jack Daniels, wine is much higher. We chose to eat at the local restaurants, which are much more reasonable and the food is delicious. The staff are very friendly, most speak English to a degree. The neighborhood is tagged and not very appealing, but overall it is a great place to stay and offers a lot of activities, especially if you are interested in tours.

Excellent location and a reception desk going out of its way to help. Did not appreciate the buffet style breakfast: fighting for food! And then, the room so small one could barely turn around. I had some good memories of this hotel, but the size and decoration of the room ruined all.

Air conditioner was not great and it was 35C

Everything was great. We even got an upgrade though one-bed room is in fact two twin beds put together. We already knew since we read it in other visitors' reviews. Breakfast buffet was nice in the roof terrace, but food was always the same and pretty limited. Pool was crowded and not enough chairs considering the size of the hotel. Overall experience was great. Would go back again.

From the pictures and the hotel info on hotels.com this seemed like a great deal. We reserved an executive suite with a matrimonial bed and a pool/garden view for our honeymoon yet when we checked in we were given a small room with 2 twin beds. We were then informed that the hotel was overbooked and they only had one available room with a double bed. We got to the room which was a CAVE!!! Not one window out and right next to the piping and elevator machinery. The staff was totally unhelpful and unfriendly. The restaurant and rooftop bar is ridiculously overpriced and the photos online are not proportionately sized. The rooms are not 5 star insize or quality and outdatedvand the pool is tiny and nothing like the photos.

Plastic bath and old curtain in the bathroom. Booked a double room but got two single beds... Even by booking 3 months in advance and mentionning our honneymoon..Good breakfast

Pay for the suite and you won't be disappointed !!

The royal olympic was a great start to our holiday, the location was very close to the under ground so it made it easy to find from the airport. The room was clean and the bed were quite firm and comfortable. the pool area was nice especially as it was so warm in athens! Breakfast was amazing, fresh food and sitting outside looking up to the acropolis was fantastic. overall we had a good stay and would be back next time we are in athens! we have already recommended to family!

Generally enjoyable stay here either side of a cruise, executive / balcony room. Clean & tidy with good decor throughout - great bathroom with huge double bath much appreciated. Some staff did not seem too happy, but mostly very helpful / efficient - slight problem with room quickly resolved. Restaurant / bar was good but patchy, the view is terrific. Easy walk to Plaka area for Acropolis and right opposite temple of Zeus. Car hire very nearby and stop by sightseeing hop-on bus within easy distance. Would stay here again.

Everything was great. We were on our honeymoon so they upgraded us. All of the special requests we had were greeted with welcome and handled. The only issue was that the King sized bed was really 2 twins pushed together, which was odd for such a large suite room.

It's not a 5 star. Its a 3 star maximum if you judge the hotel on its room quality. In its favor,for the price it's good value. But misleading advertising,Amazing location. Helpful front desk.Great rooftop with incredible views. No point in eating their food as there are loads of restaurants around.

Hotel was good and clean and the location was ideal. We found the staff very unfriendly and not at all welcoming on our arrival and during our stay.One example was that we went up to the restuarant on roof for dinner and not one of the staff spoke to us or asked us if we wanted a table, we ended up leaving and going to a small local restaurant where the staff were the opposite and we had a great welcome and served with great food. At breakfast the next day we again found staff unfriendly. I feel they are letting the hotel down.the hotel

it was my first time to athens and im glad we stayed at the royal olympic hotel. the staff were friendly and help however were a bit slow at front desk. elevators were old and u can only fit 2 people at a time with luggage. pool was nice. but the location was the best. its right out side the town of Plaka and the main attractions. would recommend to anyone
