We visited for a Bruin weekend. This is the ideal place to stay for a trip to UCLA, albeit on the pricy side. However, you get what you pay for; this is an amazing experience, very lovvely surroundings. A great hotel with friendly people.

Not the W hotel im used to like the one in Miami or New York but I was amazed by the level of friendliness and professionalism the staff at the W hotel Westwood showed. They accommodated all my needs and I'm a hard person to Plz, and I was very pleased . I would use that hotel again.

This hotel is nicely appointed and has very friendly and helpful staff.

Great staff and service.....

not a place if you want to party, this location is more low key. A lot of parents of UCLA students staying here

Very nice and chilled vibe. Great rooms with seperate lounge area.

Recently stayed at what they call an "upgraded suite", nice room, but the issue is the shower. I tend to stay at 4/5 star hotels, this time around trying to get ready to go out on the town, turned on the shower in room 1220, it makes the room smell like it is on fire or burning. Nothing exists to be able to know how hot or cold the water is. So either expect a really nice burning from the water or to be ice cold.

Nice hotel, food very expensive, but very close to other restaurants and shops.

Just as you expect from the W brand. Top notch hotel in a splendid neighborhood. A nice excape inside the city.

Valet parking cost USD 35 a day which was a relatively large additional cost to us.

From carrying my bags up two sets of stairs to printing documents, W Hotel Westwood does not live up to its promise of whatever/whenever. Everything seemed to be a hassle and for an upscale hotel it was not comfortable. Although the clogged bathroom sink was fixed quickly, a Best Western has better amenities. Tip for getting around the $14 a day wifi is login to the wet bar free daily wifi.

Context - we traveled as a family of four - my husband and I, one big dog, and one toddler, we got the king corner suite. Guest service - I find this to be the best attribute of this hotel. Though one would expect good service from a luxury hotel, unfortunately, I do not find that to be consistently the case across all luxury hotels. This W has good service. 1. Check in - we arrived one day late, but the lady at the reception gave us one additional night since we already paid for the stay. I thought that was very nice. 2. Dog friendly - it's nice that nice hotel chains increasingly allow big dogs. They delivered a dog bed, dog bowls, and a list of vets and other places for dogs. 3. House keeping - very friendly and helpful Room decor - modern and nice as one would expect from W Size of suite - the suite was described as ~700 sq ft. Maybe it was, but certainly did not feel like it. It felt small and only slightly bigger than other non suite rooms I have been in. I have been in consulting for many years, and have practically lived in hotels at different price range. Bathroom - this is the part of the room that bothers me the most: 1. Instead of the standard 1.5 baths at most suites (such as at Westin, Conrad, Ritz, and even Residence Inn), this one only has one bathroom, which I find to be inconvenient. 2. Small single sink bathroom - the only bathroom is very small 3. Most nicer hotels have now a curved shower curtain rod that allows the shower to feel a bit bigger and the shower curtain not touching your body. This is a feature that usually comes with a heavenly shower at the Westin chain. This bathroom did not have that and it honestly felt gross that the curtain was touching my arm. Equipments - No iPod adapter in the room while this is a common feature in most hotel rooms. it has a DVD player that did not have a digital output and the remote control was broken. Being a big fan of the W Hotel chain, this stay at the W Los Angeles-Westwood, did not disappoint. Great laid back location in a residential neighborhood in Westwood. With only being approx. 10min away from Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive and more shopping and restaurants makes it an ideal location. Hotel itself is a beautiful property with friendly staff, spacious rooms, good food and drinks with a happening scene thats not too intrusive. With quick access of the 405, W Los Angeles Westwood - Definitely will be my hotel of choice on my next visit to L.A.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable. But noise from the bar and other areas when "events" are going on can really cause a sleepless night. I have stayed several times and twice noise at night coming from the hotel has been a problem. 3 o'clock in the morning is not the time for loud music!

I guess if you want a mediocre hotel room in a great location with a bar / outside area that is a "scene" & a loud, pounding night scene, this might be the place for you. However, I expected (from the W brand) a more comfortable, well-designed guest room. It seems as if this was an apartment building in the past & they've converted the rooms without much thought to detail, design or layout. The decor was all over the place, the dresser in the closet was an after thought & there was absolutely NO counter space in the bathroom. AND when I went to use the computer in the lobby to print out my boarding pass, they charge to use the lobby computer. They also charge for WIFI in the room. Puh-leeeze. Service ranged from good at check-in to o.k. throughout our stay. If you want to be close to or in Westwood, the location can't be beat. However, for the rate, I will find more comfortable, more thoughtful accommodations elsewhere.

The location is great, and a W is fun with young people around, which you have, if you are a UCLA parent. But...the windows of our great view were filthy. The on-demand movie system didn't work. The restaurant service bordered on rude. There were no extra pillows. The mini bar didn't have any form of whisky. And when I requested an extra night's stay on check in, I was told no problem. When I confirmed 2 days later that it was ok, I was told no problem. So I was a little surprised to get a phone call at nine pm telling me I needed to check out the following morning (and I was going to be at UCLA from 7.30 am to 6 pm). I protested and the front desk said they would get back to me. They did. At 11.05 pm. "Sorry, we cannot extend your stay." I exploded, spoke to a manager (at 11.20) and got an extra night after all. In their defense, the desk manager when I left asked how our stay had been, and was incredibly apologetic when I recounted the sad tale. She credited me for our breakfast and for the movies which had never played properly. I'll probably stay again because of the location, but I may just decide to drive from Santa Monica instead...

Can't complain @ the W, everything is 1st class. Pool and bar are a little smaller than others, but still great. Sunday is movie night which is a nice twist to being by the pool in the evenings...

The room we had - a "Spectacular Queen Suite" - was just that, spectacular. It was huge with a large living room, separate bedroom and big bathroom. The shower was relaxing with excellent water pressure. The only downfall was not having a coffee maker in the room. I joined my husband on this business trip and it was annoying to have to run downstairs for a cup of coffee. To order it in your room cost over $20 ($14 with a $3 room service delivery fee plus tax...a bit absurd) - for coffee! Oh, and a bottle of water cost $9. Also, the restaurant didn't open until 7a - not convenient for a business traveler with early meetings. Other than that, a great experience at the hotel.

The W is a wonderful hotel. But I have to agree with the post that had front desk issues. My family and I were on a 1 night staycation. I left in the morning to go to work and was to return @ 1pm when my husband and kids checked out to enjoy a day at the pool. I called at 11:00 to be connected with the room and was told they checked out. and so began the 2 hour debacle in which I finally said I am calling the police to check the room if you don't. My 10 year old son had gone to the front desk to call me since the phone in the room didn't work (due to being checked out which no one did)and was told no we can't make outside calls. Who turns away a child! So I would recommend this hotel but be careful of the front desk.

T W is located in a great location with easy access to lots of fine dinning and shopping. It is also directly across from the UCLA campus.

The hotel was in a very safe, clean, and quiet neighborhood just west of Hollywood. The pool was very nice along with the spa and fitness center. My friend and I stayed for 4 days while apartment hunting around the city and the hotel could not have been more centrally located to everything on the north end of downtown. Great service throughout. I always stay at W's and this one was my favorite so far.

I have stayed at this hotel in the past and loved it. This time was different. I called the desk to report a piece of luggage that would be delivered by the airlines and instructed that if the luggage comes after 11pm keep it and I will get it in the morning. Instead, the luggage was apparently delivered at 2am and the desk called to let me know. Unfortunately, they goofed and I was awake for the rest of the night. I reported my mishap to the front desk and they said, "Are you sure," "we have a message from the night clerk, that he simply left a message and that the phone did not ring." I called the man back and asked him why he woke me up, and he apologized." Then, next morning I talked to the Manager and he said he didn't know what he could do. I just stood there and thought, give me a free nights stay. He recommended that I take it easy and he would comp me a breakfast. Nice but I was so tired the rest of my stay. After all that,I received a call at 5 am the next morning which woke me up and no one was on the other end of the phone. I was so angry. They do not have enough customer training to deal with issues that arise that should not happen to their guests.

The room was great close enough to beach for the price and serice as well as close access to hollywood attractions. Only thing I would have like to have in my room would have been a microwave it was the only thing missing.
