Omni Austin Hotel - أوستين

Construction each day on floor above us starting at 7:00 a.m., turn down service left a bag of ice on counter & completely soaked my iPad cover ( thank goodness iPad was not in it), fire alarm one night which we didn't hear on our floor, but were awakened three times saying things were corrected. Would not return.

Hotel staff was terrific and the location couldn't have been any better. My friends and I went to Austin to go hang out on 6th Street for the very first time and was very pleased with the hotel and how close it was to 6th Street along with everything else. I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone.

Everyone was very accomodating and helpful as I was travelling with a baby. I would stay here again. Also, the bed was comfortable. Not cheap and ultra-soft.

Room was nice. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Only complaint was renovation of nearby rooms could be heard starting at 8:00am on Saturday. Would stay here again.

Great hotel, Rob the conciergie was fantastic. They had some short term construction that was annoying (not a huge deal). They also have a great rooftop pool, with a perfect view of the city. However, the spa is broken and apparently there is no plan to fix it. Lack of the spa is the main gripe I have!!!

This is my 4th stay at the Omni in Austin, TX and there will definitely be a 5th. The staff are friendly, professional and very service oriented. The rooms are good sized, nicely appointed and quiet. The downtown location and easy access to freeways make it ideal for doing business.

There was construction going on during our stay that I was unaware of when I booked the room. Our room had to be changed to one much less accommodating. Only 1 comfortable chair to sit in. Sirens going off and announcements of evacuation and emergency's just after we checked in and tried to rest after traveling. We called the desk after wondering what to do on the room on the 13th floor that they had given us. We were told to just ignore it. Thankfully it was an accident somewhere that tripped the alarm. I have to say the staff were all very nice and tried to make up for the inconveniences by tickets for free food and drinks. Once the construction is over things should be as expected. I don't travel very often anymore so it was still a bit bothersome.

The hotel was great - clean, reasonably priced, in a great location, and with a friendly staff. The pool was great, although the walk up the stairs is a bit dodgy. Starbucks in the lobby is convenient. Rooms were 10/10. My only complaint was that on my final day there, someone from the hotel staff knocked incessantly until i woke up and opened the door. This was at 8:30am, but checkout wasn't until 12pm (noon). This is odd and probably not the best practice.

Stayed 2 nights at Omni Downtown. Location is great because it's close to major attractions downtown. Easy and not expensive to take a cab to South Congress. Service at this hotel is superior to many other high-end chains. The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. They helped us change rooms because the street noise from all the bars on 6th street is quite loud.

They were doing construction every morning at 9am which prevented us from sleeping in.

Great location to walk to 6th st and all of downtown Austin; hotel bar is lots of fun too with great drinks! Close to lots of restaurants and bars ; rooms super comfy and clean ! Valet parking is very Convenient ; close to capital too ! I live this hotel and have stayed here 5 different times!

Close to everything down town, freindly staff, overall great accomodations!!

I love this hotel and stay there when I'm in Austin. The location is great, the service wonderful and the rooms are so nice. Unfortunately, on this stay they were renovating the floors above me. I woke early to hammering. Although you have to give a little in these situations, the vacuum going down the hallway early in the morning was irritating. But the topper was the shower. I had to jump out of the way of the water every 20-30 seconds because it would go cold. I won't go back until all construction is gone! Ask before reserving!

We spent 4 nights at the Omni in December 2011. We had booked a room with a king bed since we have our toddler sleep in our bed when we travel, but they kindly upgraded us to a suite since they had availability. Our daughter really enjoyed having space to run around and play. Couldn't have asked for a better holiday gift! The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel.

If i head back to Austin ill definitely stay at The Omni, Clean , comfortable, great location.

The suites on top floors were under construction and this information was not noted on hotel.com website. Otherwise the hotel was great.

This is a beautiful hotel.....but beware!! They charge you a significant fee per day for wi-fi for EACH device. They also charge an outrageous fee for parking EACH day. Since it was close to 6th street, the street noise was terrible and the constant police and ambulance sirens caused a restless night's sleep. Get a room with a view of the lobby and you should be fine.

We stayed here two nights just to be close to sixth street. The Omni was in the perfect location. However the selling point for me was the excellent service. The front desk staff was extremely helpful, even to the point of giving answers to questions that I didn't know to ask. At check in it was explained that they book the rooms in blocks to separate those seeking peace and quiet from those wanting to party on Sixth Street. We were in the later , but they said if we found it too noisy, we could be moved to a quiet section. Housekeeping cleaned the room without ever being seen. The bar staff were friendly, and service in the restaurant was excellent. On the second morning, our waiter at breakfast even remembered everyone's beverage preference from the first day. I won't be looking around for anyplace else to stay in downtown Austin

Didn't give it all 5s because some dust on television, other than that all every one was very professional, with great personality. They helped point out attractions and restaurants. Close to 6th street, so cops at night but not too bad.

Omni is a great hotel chain, this one in particular its in great location, its what you expect out of Omni, but still they lack a good gym, they dont have sauna or indoor pool like Omni South Park also in Austin, and since the cost fluctuates from one Omni to the other it depends, to party downtown, this is the best bet., if you want to relax Omni SouthPark

Noise: Construction noise 7 days a week - all day, every day. If you stay here, plan on being out of the hotel from 9am-5pm during the week, and 11am-4pm on the weekends. Room Service: Order was cold and was missing two of the five items ordered. Hotel Lobby: The Starbucks looks like a convenient and welcome addition, until you realize the coffee is luke-warm, and they close (best I can tell) right after lunch.

A group of 8 of us stayed here for a bachelor party weekend. All being in our late 30's, it was hardly the stuff for another "Hangover" movie but what we enjoyed was the comfort and cleanliness of our rooms, the fantastic location, and the supreme friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The building is an architectural gem too. Special thanks to our bartenders at the lounge bar who kept us in good spirits, and the concierge for endless suggestions. The roof-top pool was pretty spot on too!

Overall our stay was good. There were some issues because the night we stayed there was a black out. Some of the staff was not being very helpful like they should be. I believe the proper procedures were not followed. Other than that the rooms were really nice, clean and service was great other than that incident mentioned.

We found a great deal on hotels.com for this booking. Upon checkin, we were pleased with the location, the lobby and the ease of check in. Once we got to the room, we found it filthy. Glass rings on the coffee table ~ made us wonder what else had not been cleaned, as the end table clearly had not been. Figured we'd let it slide and enjoy the room. Upon attempting to take a shower, I found that the shower would not stay on! Tried to tie a towel / washcloth around the knob to keep it up, and that didn't work either. Now a bath in a confimed dirty room! We contemplated calling to have the room changed, but with our plans, there really was no good time for the inconvenience.

Yes, this hotel is remodeling on the middle floors (less than a 1/3 of the floors). You might hear workers from 8 or 9 till 4 or 5 Monday thru Friday. But trust me, this hotel is the BEST location for 6th Street. First time Austin visitor from Houston. LOVED IT. You are 1 block from everything, and lets face it people - pay the extra 30-40 bucks and stay here - You will save $20 on cabs and a fortune on a DUI. Oh yea, plus its a VERY nice hotel, we were very impressed (ask for a "suite", which includes a very nice balcony in the unremodeled floors, same price, VERY worth it. Nice people too :)

I enjoyed the hotel. Reasonable room price. Great location. Starbucks coffee in the morning!

Let me first start off by saying I usually read these reveiws and have a hard time believing someones experience could be that bad. It's the "you have to consider the source" and "some people just can't be pleased" situations that make me question the absolute validity of the reveiw. This is also the first time I've written a review of a hotel(I've stayed at hundreds before) I just felt that this stay was so terrible that I had to let others know just how horrible this stay was for me and my family...... I booked a 2 bedroom suite for New Years Eve Weekend for my family and I. We have 2 young children so we called ahead to make sure our room was ready. We'd rather wait at home rather than sit in their lobby waiting on our room.(sounds like we've had that experience here before?) We were told no problem the room is being cleaned and should be ready shortly. We arrived at the hotel aroud 3pm after our short 1.5 hour drive to be informed that our room is not quite ready. The front desk representative said "the guest that was staying in your room failed to check out on time and therefore put them behind schedule" After waiting approximately 45 minutes I checked on the status of the room and was told they were still cleaning it. I asked how long it takes to clean a room since I called at approximately 1pm and was told it was already being cleaned...it's now 3 hours later. A guest services manager comes out and says it not being cleaned that actually they are having a maintenance issue with the room. We were told from this representative he can't believe that we were able to book that room because it's supposed to be remodeled. The issue is they can't turn the hot water on in the room. To make a long story short we were given a room on the 10th floor to take a shower in and checked in to our room on the 15th floor. To access the 15th floor from the 10th you have to go down to the lobby and get on another elevator to take you up to the 15th.(slightly incovenient) Our room

Went to Austin for a night got this hotel for a great price. Heated pool on the roof, great service and friendly staff. This place had a very comfortable bed and an awesome tub with jets. Loved it and will stay again.

I have nothing bad to say about our stay. Everything was Top Notch.

Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a pretty cool design with a interior view that is basically a glass wall looking out onto the entire structure, lobby, bar, restaurant, and opposing building below (which was a shopping center on the first couple levels and the rest business offices). The room was clean if not super-updated and the beds were very high quality. Cons: Rooms that face the street, at least on the south end of the building will be BOMBARDED with club music from the rave-ish place on the corner a block and a half away (6th and San Jacinto). The upper floors of the building are under construction. There was no advance warning about the construction and we had to ask to move rooms because of the noise of both. We were moved to the opposite end and to an interior room which cured the club noise, however when I inquired "that's great for the street noise but won't that place us even closer to the construction?" the assistant politely responded "it's a quiet floor." Sure enough, the next morning, I was awoken by construction noise. Not *ridiculously* loud noise but I don't go to a 4-star hotel to deal with noise. Friday night was enhanced by a huge drunken wedding party, complete with people vomiting in the driveway - which the staff either seemed to ignore or be unaware of. Lastly, (and we found it a bit mysterious) - even though it's basically a really nice hotel, many of the guests, to put it frankly, were just kinda scummy and uncouth. Many of these things are not the fault of the Omni and overall we were satisfied with the service and experience, but our next trip to Austin we'll probably try to find a nice little B&B in the "SoCo" district.

We had to call the front desk to have our room cleaned one day and the maid came at 5:00 pm the next it was not convenient for us to have to remind them to clean our room.

We recently stayed at the Omni in Downtown over New Year's weekend. A friend of mine booked two double-double club rooms separately and checked in at the same time. They were able to accommodate us by getting both rooms next to each other, which was nice to have, considering we were a large group. Upon check-in, we were informed of their after-hours policy and they wanted the names of all guests for each room, which was no problem. We were informed ahead of time that if all eight of us were hanging out in one room, there could possibly be noise complaints and if we wanted, we could bring our party down to the lobby (alcohol and all). That being said there were a couple of times that we were all together and didn't hear anything from the hotel. In addition, we brought our dog to the hotel and paid our pet fee, with no trouble through the entire process. I had read online that dogs needed to be in a crate any time guests aren't in the room, so I brought his with us. I've seen some reviews complaining about this, but to me it was not a big deal to leave him crated while we were gone. To me, this a small request on their part (in addition to the fee) for the convenience of being able to bring your pet with you. The one real thing I could complain about is the price, but it's fairly understandable considering how close you are to 6th/Capitol/etc. But given the quality of the hotel, I think it was worth it. Speaking of the quality of the hotel, I would really like to say how nice the ENTIRE staff was. I didn't meet a single employee who wasn't extremely kind and helpful. When we would finish walking the dogs, the concierge workers would step out from behind the desk to say hello -- as a dog owner, this says a lot about the kind of people working there. All in all, the rooms were clean, the rooftop pool was awesome (although the hot tub was being refinished at the time - bummer), the staff was great, and being able to walk back to the hotel fairly inebriated was pricele

Loved our room and a great rate for Christmas night!! However, the hallways the next morning come to life very early to include housekeeping staff---UGH! So, if you are wanting to sleep in and relax, beware. This is not really a compliant, but more of an FYI. Otherwise, the room and the overall facility was great!

Mostly our stay was good with only a couple of small reservations that made it less than great. One issue is that the roof deck pool, while listed as being heated, was still pretty cold. It was a nice deck so the cold pool may not have been such a bother, but the hot-tub was closed either for repairs or the season. One of the things that drew me to the hotel was it listed a year round heated pool, the reality was a disappointment. Other issue was the maid service. I don't like grumbling about maid service but I found a couple of things that happened to be odd. First day there, they did not come to straighten the room until about 4:30pm, at which point we were back from a day of walking and just wanted to take a break. The next morning they woke us to do the room at 8am, which does not seem reasonable to me. Of course if I had thought they would come that early I would have put the do not disturb sign up the night before, but never before have I had a maid service come that early in the morning. We were there for a romantic getaway, my impression is that they are used to business travelers who are probably out the room very early until evening. Hotel is nice, but not sure if I would recommend it if you are looking for a romantic retreat.
