Courtyard by Marriott in Portsmouth - بورتسموث

We missed it coming off the highway. The sign had an arrow pointing right so we turned right and went way up the street. Their sign is sideways, if it was turned, you could see it as you came down the ramp. Very clean, bed comfortable. We could hear very clearly what was going on in the hallways, a lot of noise. Price and location was good.

We really enjoyed the cleanliness of this hotel and our beds were very comfortable

Location was great, right off the highway. Breakfast not included was a let down. There was a restaurant on site but nothing provided including coffee?? Overall the hotel was clean and the service was good.

The only complaint I have about the Portsmouth Courtyard Mariott is that it can be a little difficult to locate initially. GPS may not be able to locate the precise location and you may drive around in circles for a bit... we certainly did. That being said, the hotel is clean, the rooms are a wonderful size, and the staff are friendly and cheerful. I would recommend it highly.

Everything was clean and updated. The fitness room was fantastic. I loved that the pool and hot tub were saline- so many hotels over-do the chemicals in their pools and make them unbearable to swim in! We had breakfast in the bistro the next morning and it was unbelievably good! This was even better than the bed and breakfast we stayed in recently- and less than half the cost.

Hotel was great. Staff very friendly. The lobby was redone and has the bar and food service there. Only criticism is its not really convenient or safe to walk to Portsmouth because of the road and lack of sidewalks until you pass under 95. Definitely not a night time walk. Taxi service is available which hotel has good contacts for.

Very nice hotel, very helpful people,,,,We had a leak in our bathroom on the first night and they took care of finding us a different room right away....Then we got charged for breakfast which was actually included, so they credited the bill and gave us tickets for the breakfast the next morning....Nice and clean and service was awesome....

We selected the Courtyard by Marriott in Portsmouth for it's location, which was convenient to both a wedding in Dover and shopping in Portsmouth. The hotel staff was very accommodating to let us check-in early, thus facilitating preparations for the wedding. In addition they were able to accommodate an impromptu family-breakfast-reunion for eight. Very comfortable stay.

The woman who checked us in (and, unfortunately, out, too) as RUDE, did not even look at us, or acknowledge us and acted as if we were disturbing her. Appalling! And our housekeeper, Barbara, even with not having to change sheets or towels, could not find the energy to replace our toiletries or wash the drinking glasses. We did not leave her a tip -- she needs to be trained to do her job properly. Overall, we we really disappointed and would not be likely to stay there again. The room air unit was very loud, children ran up and down the halls after 10pm, and, as at most hotels these days, breakfast was not included. Other than the overal cleanliness of the room, the stay was really disappointing.

Service was excellent. We ate there for 2 dinners and a breakfast. Food was good and reasonably priced. Hotel had good amenities. We were on the third floor and had highway noise occassionally. Friends of ours staying on the first floor had no noise from the highway. We wanted to get a hotel that was a short distance from downtown Portsmouth (about 1 mile) and it was exactly what we were looking for. Would recommend this hotel!!

Very nice,friendly staff,close to areas we wanted to see.

Pleasant staff. Clean and comfy room. Wonderfully fresh breakfast where they will cook your eggs to order, including omelets.

Very nice hotel. Close to the downtown area without paying the cost to stay downtown.

No disappointments. Either my GPS took me on a crazy route or the hotel was a little difficult to get at, but once there, had a very enjoyable stay. Room was clean, no smell of smoke or mildew (both of which we are sensitive to). Had a nice breakfast in the restaurant. All was good. Our room was also quiet (another issue of sensitivity).

The hotel is conveniently located if you are looking to do things in New Hampshire and Maine. The weekend we were there, the hotel was packed with guests attending a wedding. It sounded like the wedding reception was in the room next to us. The rude, inconsiderate people kept us up until 4:00 AM. Hopefully, you won't have the same type of bad experience as we did.

over all it was a pleasant experience. the hotel is clean and the front desck worker were very friendly and helpful.

The room was clean and had everything you would need. The front desk called a taxi for me. Which was also on time, clean and reasonable.

We had difficulty maintaining a wi fi connection. We could get a connection in the hallway and the lobby but would lose it upon entering our room; not very convenient.

My family stopped here on our way home from Acadia. It is extremely easy to get to from I-95. Staff was excellent and very helpful, with a terrific dinner recommendation and coupons. Beautiful, clean place, with a nice pool with a bit too much chlorine. Room was very attractive but a bit small for my family of 3. Also, the A/C unit was noisy. Amazing breakfast buffet, but we were charged a fee for my daughter, even though we had booked this with the "Breakfast included" feature on Hotels.com. All in all, a mix, but more positive than negative. Portsmouth is a really fun and interesting city to explore. In my 50 years, I had never stopped here before, but we all loved the city. I highly recommend a stop and a tour of the beautiful gardens in Prescott Park. Bring a picnic lunch, and enjoy the passing ships.

Customer Service was not at all up to standards. We had a wedding to get to and I had asked for an early check in. Kept on calling...they were not at all accommodating. Ended up checking into the room after 11 pm!

Great location - short walk to everything you could want. Staff was incredibly polite - a nice treat. Clean. My only complaint is the breakfast could be much more natural - real ingredients and less additives. I'd stay here again (but wouldn't eat at the hotel).

I really enjoyed my stay. The room was spotless & the beds were very comfortable. I would say the hotel restaurant was ok, but nothing great. My friend had to send her steak back since it was over done, but the chef came out to appologize for the inconvenience which was nice of him....we did finally get a steak that was done to perfection. The breakfast buffet was pretty good. I would definitely recommend this hotel and plan on returning.

We have stayed in rooms that were less expensive & much cleaner. The housekeeper needs to sit on the couch & look at the room from the customers perspective. Room 211 had someone's inhaler & dirty tissues between the end table & side of bed. There was lip marks & handprints on glass of sliding door. Deck smelled like someone had urinated on it. There was also a cough drop & pistachio shells under table that tv was on. Had we not got back to the room so late after dinner & already been unpacked we would of asked to change rooms. Overall, very dissappointing.

It was okay. Bit of a ride to downtown. But, overall , will probably use hotel.com again. thanx

An attractive, quiet, modern hotel with a fireplace and attractive breakfast room greeted us when we checked in. We booked via Hotels.com and got an excellent rate at the last minute, and our free breakfast was very much more than continental. Our room had a desk and a couch, and we enjoyed the view out the window of the beautiful trees surrounding the hotel. We really needed a get-away from our jobs, and it was restful and pleasant to stay at the Marriott and eat dinner and brunch at an Italian-vegetarian restaurant Radoci in downtown Portsmouth. We look forward to going back soon!!!!!

The hotel quality was just fine and the staff very nice. My only complaint really goes to hotels.com and not to the hotel itself. When I made reservations over the phone I was told this hotel was in the downtown center -- it is not; it is in an office park just a bit too far to walk to downtown. Hotels.com should make sure its operators can look carefully at maps and give accurate information,

Went to hotel for New Year's Eve and found out when we got there that they didn't have shuttle service to the downtown 1st night events. The other Marriott Hotel in Portsmouth did have this service, why not here? The taxi wait was over an hour! We looked forward to the hottub and when we went to use it the following morning it wasn't working. I would rather use a different hotel next time!

We stayed at this hotel with our two children. The room was set up well for families, with such niceties as having the sink outside the bathroom. The room was very clean and the beds comfortable. Location makes it easy to get to downtown Portsmouth or to hop on 95 to get to Kittery, etc. or on the Spaulding to get to Durham. One piece of advice: ask for a room on the side away from the highway. It gets a bit noisy!

Great stay here. Check in and out was quick and simple and the staff was very friendly. The elevator went out of service at one point and it was a bit of a hassle to walk to one end of the building and up two flights of stairs, but that was out of their control. Overall...a great hotel and kept up VERY well!

The staff was great!! Too often you go places and many do not have meaning behind "have a great night" or "thank you for coming to stay with us." The staff was genuine in their words. The room was clean and comfortable! I would recommend anyone to stay here!

Never slept a wink. HVAC came on every five minutes for 3 seconds. Very loud and totally annoying.
