Super 8 allowed Hotel.com to overbook...therefore upon my arrival, they did not have a room that I requested and booked thru Hotel.com. I had to settle for a smoking room or a room with a small bed. I got the smokers room and it smelled like a ash try and was in Poor condition. Thank God it had a good AC. The location of the hotel was excellent.

I have stayed in many hotels. Everything from Omni quality down to motel 6 no frills quality. This hotel was somewhere in between. To be honest I would of given all 5's, but here is there reason I did not. The bath tub seemed to be clogged and drained way too slow. After being in the shower for about 2 minutes, approximately 3 to 4 inches of water would be standing in the bath tub. That is a minor issue. Admittedly I did not bother contacting maintaince, because I didn't want to be disturbed. The free continental breakfast was ok and worth trying out. The internet connection was pretty smooth, despite other reviews I read on this site. Plenty of parking. Hotel staff did not talk much (which is fine by me), however seemed friendly. I want to also say my tv had a remote. I noticed a complain on this site that their room didn't have one. To be honest having a remote or not was not important to me, considering I have a netflix account and utilize it often on my laptop. One surprise to mention was the refrigerator. I was not expecting one. The fridge kept my items cold. Also it had a hair dryer, iron and ironing board. Despite the one complaint mentioned above, I would recommend staying at this hotel, and I plan on going back again maybe in 2 weeks. Overall I give this hotel a solid B.

horrible hotel.....

I had put in the special notes for the hotel that I request a late check in and a roll away bed. The room I reserved was for My family which includes two adults and four children. I reserved two queens with an optional roll away bed. Said it could accommodate 3 adults and 3 kids. Well, I received no problem with the late check in at 10pm when I arrived. However, I asked if the roll away bed was in the room already. I was informed that she had no knowledge of it. I asked then if I could get one brought up... late at night.. we all wanted sleep. She informed me that the maintenance man had already gone home for the day. The next morning I asked if it could be brought to the room as we were leaving for Fiesta Texas... she said sure... We get back around 9 and still no bed. I go down to the front desk... and I was told the guy had forgotten about it and had already went home... Long story short.. never got the roll away so we were stuck sleeping on two queens with 6 people. What really man the situation suck, I noticed the maintenance man, front desk staff, and most of the employees were related.... and lived just behind the main building in two of there rooms. And were out barbequing all weekend and drinking to all ours of the night making loud noise. My wife found touch left by the clean up crew behind the end tables, in the drawers, and behind the TV stand. Really a very bad hotel.

Hotel was best found using GPS support. In quiet residential neigborhood off but not far from interstate.

Our stay at this hotel was terrible. We had to extend our stay, and did so through Hotels.com. The foreign staff was very hard to understand, and very irritating to deal with. Upon extending our stay, we didn't "Check back in" with the front desk, so they canceled our reservation and locked us out of our room. After this happened, they requested payment in full for the next night even though he was looking at my Hotels,com reservation. I will never deal with this establishment again. I travel to San Antonio for work several times a month.

Not a bad place. If you're looking for the Ritz, you'll be sorely disappointed. But for the price range, this is a decent place to stay. Staff was really friendly and helpful.

The hotel owners do not staff the front desk with friendly or trained staff. The internet service is slow or sometimes does not work at all. Don't expect any help from the front desk. When checking out, you can expect a delay while the front desk finishes personal conversations with other staff. On checking in, expect a delay while the front desk finds reservations for the two people in front of you. Also, check in early, else you will find yourself with the room with a TV that does not work or no lock on the door.

Great price for short stays. Room was well appointed and clean; however additional maintenance is needed. Bath tub flaws appear to have been covered over by painting; it needs to be refinished or replaced. Also, the bathroom door would not latch.

Some rooms have microwaves. Check in early if you want a microwave or remote control for your TV. TVs are old.

You almost miss the hotel when seeing it from the highway and, at first, it doesn't look like it could have more than a half-dozen rooms. Once you drive in, you see that hotel is actually turned sideways and is HUGE, consisting of several buildings! The staff was very friendly and had all my info and check-in and out was quick and efficient. Had slight problem hearing them because the ladies tend to speak softly, but very courteous. Room was large and heater/AC was good, but room smelled like cigarette smoke (probably from days when that was allowed in the room). Beds were good size but a bit worn out and saggy (need to be replaced soon). Linens were clean but appeared to have some permanent stains that need to be bleached or have the sheets replaced. The TV was large but sound was a bit tinny at times (possibly due to storm front moving through area. Bathtub needed a bath mat (I had to use a towel) as the tub is very slick. Water pressure was great and lots of hot water. A fridge was in the room, which I like even though I didn't use it this trip. Continental breakfast was better than most I've seen. Along with the usual fare, it included waffles. Staff was helpful with finding things. Overall a nice place to stay for the overnight traveller.

Price and location near an event we were attending were primary factors in our selection of this hotel. Staff member who checked us in was pleasant & efficient. Parking was available and well-placed in view of room. Room was generally clean and reasonably well supplied (towels, etc) but cleaning staff appears to be somewhat weak on fine points. For example, it was obvious that they had not dusted behind the nightstands in a considerable amount of time. One other downside--at least in winter--was that, unlike the air conditioner, which appeared to have an automatic temperature control function, the heater had to be manually switched on/off several times during the night as temperatures in the room changed. Did not eat breakfast so am unable to comment on that subject.

I try to stay out of the cities. this was not bad as for the price we were paying was less than I had been paying

Don;t expect a welcome from the front desk or any thing positive from the hotel manager, but other than that, the rooms are excellent value.

Weere there for the funeral of a family member. The staff was professional (although some didn't speak english), but the accomodations were clean and comfortable. Would recommend them to anyone. The rates were booked on hotels.com, and were quite competitive.

Our room was comfortable and clean, and the price was good. Our bed had good support, our TV worked well, and the internet access also worked. The breakfast had a variety of food and the dining area was well maintained. On the downside, since the motel was old, it was showing its age. The door had a tendency to stick both intering and exiting. It was also hard to keep it open in order to carry in our luggage. The tub did not have safety slip protection on the bottom, so standing in the tub taking a shower could be dangerous. There was no night light. We had to create our own. The comfort and cleanliness out weighed the negatives. We would stay here again.

A little older than expected but, not bad for the price.

We really liked the location of the hotel, different stores surrounding the area, and the cleanliness as well. I would recommend this hotel to others.

We booked the king size bed with a pull out bed. When we got to the hotel room there was no sheet's for the pull out bed. When we went to the front office to get some he told us that he had no sheets. We all ended up sleeping on the same bed for the weekend. Our TV in the room also caught on fire.

The room was a standard Super 8 hotel room. I've seen better. I've seen worse. I like the convenience of the big signs on the railings showing which room numbers are where. The worst part was the breakfast from 7-10 am. We went at 8:30 and it was so crowded, there was nowhere to sit. I decided to skip breakfast because the line was too long and there wasn't much food selection. The "doorbell" was annoying too.

We got there very late so probably got the last available room for non-smoking. Someone had been there prior and room was dirty. They changed us to a smoking room. We checked out early and they gladly refunded our money for the night we cancelled.

Good hotel. Never had any problems.

Registration person was not friendly. Sheets smelled clean but looked dingy. Bottom sheet was not a fitted sheet and by morning the bottom sheet was half off the bed. TV was located inside a cabinet. Doors would only open like blinders and you had to sit directly in front of TV to see it. Have stayed at nicer places for less money!

The room was clean. Maid service left us extra towels even when we had the no disturb sign on the door which I thought was nice. We had a room close to the pool area, and therefore we heard all the kids yelling & playing late on Saturday night, so if this bothers you, you might ask for a room away from that area.

Hotel room was small, we put in 3 adults 3 children. Oh No No No it does not fit that many. It fits 4. You can not even get a roll away in the room. Smelled weid. Not a good experience at all. would never stay there again.

It was great the rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable, the bed sheets and pillows were soft, and the service was the best. Also the fact that we got the rooms last minute was the best.

Very good quality for price. Very small problems but taken care of as soon as they were mentioned.

We drove to see family in the area and this hotel was close to where they lived. We will never stay there again. The night desk clerk was sleeping when we showed up at 2 AM, he told us our room was given to someone else and that we would have to take the only other available room. I asked why and the only response we received was sometimes the rooms are overbooked and we have to use what is available. Once we were in the room, we noticed the bolt lock on the inside was broken as well as the door frame (like it was kicked in from the outside). We checked the lamps in the room and one next to the bed was broken (fire hazard broken), there was a plumbing snake outside our door on the grounds as well. We walked around and found the exact type of room that we originally reserved and returned to the front desk. The clerk did give us the room but he seemed not happy. The bathtub in the second room had paint peeling off of it. This is unacceptable. The breakfast that was offered was OK, the only thing we noticed was that the housekeeping staff would go in and get food not only for themselves to eat but also their families. We witnessed them taking food to a car a number of times. I thought the food was for the guests not employees. I would not recommend anyone to stay at this hotel, ever. I have pictures of the horrible conditions of the hotel complex and will be sending it to the corporate office.

Our stay at the Super 8 was fantastic. the service was wonderful. The hotel better than I expected. It was perfect for a budget location for myself and my family. We'll be staying there everytime we visit San Antonio.

nice clean rooms, the only minor problem was the tv is old and was getting all kind of colors around the edge

I would only stay here again if everything else did not exist, comedy or errors in checking in, hair everywhere in room, dirty sheets, dirty floors, no cups in room ... everything you would imagine in a Chevy Chase Vacation movie except raccoons

It was an alright place to stay this trip, but due to having to plung the toilet ourselves, and the bathtub peeling, we probably will choose another hotel to stay at next time we go to San Antonio.

Check in was fine, but it went downhill from there. I had to swipe my room key three times before the door would open, and once inside I wasn't sure the lock was securely latched so I had to be vigilant about using the bolt lock. The room seemed clean enough, but upon using the restroom, I noticed a very large hole in the wall near the tub. I taped the garbage can bag over the hole for my own peace-of-mind. I turned down the sheets at bedtime, and found a medium size black bug on the sheet. I had to strip the whole bed to be sure there were no more. I had a hard time falling asleep, worrying about more bugs, and because the bed was not at all comfortable. I woke with a headache. When I went to check-out (earlier than I normally would have) the clerk was very rude. He said not one work to me. Maybe he knows that his guests are not happy with this hotel! I would not ever stay there again.
