I am sure this used to be a grand hotel but it badly needs some updating. The rooms were dark, the plumbing was challenged, the curtains were broken and there were hairs all over the carpet. The restaurant, however, was quite good.

This hotel is absolutely one of the bests in Cincinnati. It is a little hard to find. I had a room with king bed facing the atrium. I was here over the weekend and live piano was being played every night. The bar is fantastic with a nice selection of drinks. I only had breakfast in the restaurant. Very good service and food but the menu was not that special, just the usuals like bacon, egg, omelettes and pancake. The room also had a mini bar with a wide selection of drinks. The hotel also had free internet. The parking is 26$ a day which I don't think is that much.

The Cincinnatian is definitely a historical hotel with a great location in downtown Cincy. It's a block from Fountain Square and less than a mile from the Great American Ballpark. Loved their black cab service too, but there were more than a few things to improve on. We did get a large room with double queens, but the carpets were quite outdated as was the bathroom. It's not that it's not clean, it's just in need of a major update. The front desk was very proud that they still use keys (not the programmable card keys), but they should work properly and be checked often. Though we always got into our room eventually, it was a pain to struggle with inserting the key for 3-4 mins every time. May not seem like a big deal to everyone, but with kids in tow and sometimes in different degrees of sleep, it was a real annoyance. The Cincinnatian was anything but cheap so expected/assumed some usual features like a pool and easy access to breakfast on-site, but there was no pool and we couldn't have breakfast on-site (unless we get room service) because we needed reservations. The front desk recommended a decent place for breakfast a few blocks away, but it was something you'd figure a 4-5 star, higher-end hotel would offer. I like older hotels, but they have to make sure they're updated enough to keep up with the Hiltons and Westins down the block. I could have gotten reservations at either chain for less and probably not have had to even think about some of the things that were annoyances to me and my family. I'm sure it's a great feature, but I needed to print out something off the internet and was led to a tiny little booth where my 2 yr old and I barely fit. I'm sure it's cool to someone without kids, but it was a struggle to find any room to maneuver even if it was for 10 mins. The front desk did not charge me for the pages I printed which I appreciated. I would recommend the Cincinnatian to friends without kids however because a lot of our complaints were because

We spent the night in the Cincinnatian Hotel as part of a two day getaway. The hotel was centrally located in the heart of downtown Cincinnati with several shopping attractions, museums and restaurants within walking distance. The biggest complaint about our stay was the overwhelming live band that we could not escape while in our rooms. Our room faced the interior of the hotel above the bar and restaurant. There was a live band playing music the majority of the evening and into the night. Our plan was to spend a quiet, relaxing night in the hotel room before our romp into the city. Although very relaxing, the 4 hours of very loud jazz music that drifted up to our room did hinder the quiet atmosphere we wanted and expected. Thankfully the band finished at the modest time of 11 p.m. and the rest of the night was a dream after that! The room was nicely furnished and modern. The bathroom and shower were exceptionally clean and highly enjoyable. Our overall visit to the Cincinnatian was excellent and I would not hesitate for even a moment before rebooking at this hotel again for our next visit the the wonderful city of Cincinnati.

I booked this hotel on expedia so I didn't know much about what i was getting into.My boyfriend and I both agreed this was the best hotel we have ever stayed in. Anything we asked for they made it happen within two minutes or less. Not once did I hear an attitude or problem when we asked for something. We wanted to eat in and wanted it delievered from outside the hotel.. We didnt really want pizza but they said that was pretty much the only option so they recomened larosas for they had an extencive menue. We did not bring our laptop so they printed the menu for us and brought it to our room within minutes.This hotel is worth the money to spend the night. I can explain how amazing the room was. The shower was the best shower I had ever taken and the next morning i didnt want to get out of bed I was so comfortable.Dont look at any other hotel.This is where you want to stay.

Our recent stay at the " The Cincinnatian" was quite pleasant. We chose this hotel after reading about the recent remodeling of the common spaces and individual rooms, each one reflecting the character and architecture of the old building. The ammenities checked all the boxes. The hotel offers local transportation via a London black cab named "Maxwell" although its location is within easy walking distance of downtown destinations. The staff was friendly and dressed professionally which easily gave an impression of comfort and elegance. We look forward to returning to this Hotel whenever we are in the Cincinnati area.

We enjoyed our evening in Cincinnati and the hotel room was nice but the bed looked laid on and chairs dirty. We stayed on the top floor and unfortunately heavy rains rolled in and it sounded like we were under attack. The sound was so loud we barely got any sleep. Next time I would simply ask for a new room because the overall atmosphere is lovely,

This hotel is wonderful and the staff is outstanding. I travel at least 3 times a month for business and usually stay at Marriott or Hyatt type hotels. As a result I am not used to the great service provided by The Cincinnatian Hotel. I loved it! I was especially impressed with the wonderful shuttle service from the airport and back. The driver called me on my cell phone as soon as I came off the plane and told me he would be there to pick me up outside of the baggage claim area. Everyone makes you feel as if you are their only guest.

The staff was attentive and accommodating. We enjoyed the music in the lounge on Friday and Saturday nights and breakfast in the restaurant. Our room was clean and quiet. And the complimentary taxi service was an unexpected convenience. We would stay here again and recommend it to friends.

My husband and I can not say enough good things about this hotel! Everything from it's staff to the cleanliness to the quiet atmosphere. It's exactly what we needed! Everyone there gets it!

The Cincinnatian is a classic hotel in the heart of downtown which offers lots of touches of traditional sophistication. From the doormen in their 19th century uniforms to the bell hops, from the front desk clerks to the old school room keys, everything harkens take to "the day". This is not the place for people who want state-of-the-art modernization. The room service is especially pleasant and the Palace restaurant is top drawer.

While I understand this is a historical building, for a traveler on a budget, I have to say I've stayed in better hotels for much less money. The hotel staff were very accommodating and provided excellent service; that was the best part of the experience. The room key (actual key, not electronic) got stuck in the door, and was hard to remove, the room's decor was VERY dated for a "luxury downtown hotel", and the amenities that were offered were not what you'd expect for the price paid. The floor in our room was uneven and slanted downward toward the street, so it felt much like walking down a ramp. On our way down the stairs to leave for the evening, I nearly fell down the stairs because of several loose tiles on the landing between floors. Next time I visit Cincinnati, I will be choosing a different hotel.

When I requested a nice view from the highest floor possible, we were given a view of the inside of the hotel while other guests ate dinner below. I specifically asked for a nice view and was disappointed with the result.

My girlfriend and I drove down to Cincinnati for a concert and overnight stay. I was very impressed with the friendliness, service, and all around condition of the hotel. Staying in the Atrium Queen room we ended up with a top floor room with a balcony that overlooked the indoor courtyard. Being history buffs, we especially loved the fact that the hotel was built in the 1800s, and that they used actual brass room keys instead of the plastic cards that so many hotels use nowadays.

When I made dinner reservations, I told the receptionist that it was our anniversary. She repeated that back to me, but on the evening of the dinner, none of the servers knew. That information had not been communicated to any of the staff who served us that evening.

I really enjoy my stays at the Cincinnatian. I occasionally stay there when I go to Cincinnati to attend Cubs/Reds games because it is an easy walk to the ballpark. I enjoy walking the marble staircases and their wifi hookup is seamless. I do have a couple of complaints, however - - first of all, they really should 'get with the program' and put coffee makers in each room. I enjoy my morning coffee as I am getting dressed and ready before leaving the hotel room. So having free coffee service in the lobby (and only until 9:30 am) just doesn't work for me. Also, the $28 valet parking charge is out of line. So I park under Fountain Square for half that, though it is less convenient. Overall I will continue to stay here, though I also sometime trade off and stay at other downtown Cincinnati hotels.

I was only there a single night, but the hotel was nicely appointed and the hotel staff was attentive and thoughtful.

I booked a larger room for a bachelorette party and we were thrilled with both the size of the room and the luxurious experience. We had a balcony that overlooked the inside of the hotel and a nice large bathroom. The location was very close to lots of great restaurants and nightlife. I would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is beautiful! We stayed in a one bedroom suite that was fabulous! The bedroom was spacious and the "living room" was huge! We had two bathrooms that were very, very clean! The bed was very comfortable! We were very satisfied with our stay and would definitely stay there again.

Lovely hotel, location was great. This was our second visit to the Cincinnatian each time was for an event downtown. This second visit didn't seem to have the support staff to accommodate room service at 11pm and breakfast after 11am on the weekend. Staff seemed to be short handed. Otherwise, lovely location and room.

We had a great stay, everything was beautiful, very comfortable, had a terrific meal at the Palace restaurant.

My husband and I had never visited Cincinnati. The Cincinnatian Hotel was well located next to upscale shopping, restaurants, and easy walking distance to ballfields and the riverfront. We really enjoyed staying at the hotel. Employees were friendly and hotel was lovely.

Well the overall stay was nice and the staff were very friendly. But Theres no parking for the hotel unless your gonna pay $28 a night for valet parking. Theres no min fridge or microwave. Their restaurants menu is very expensive. When we were checking in and out the door man watched us open the door with the cart, so he wasn't doing his job. Oh and you have to pay another $200 up front for any cover charges you might use.

Don't be fooled by the pictures on the web-site. I don't think that there have been updates/improvements to this hotel for a very long time. The "fit and finish" of the hotel is very outdated. There is charm in the sense that it is historic, but there has been nothing done to mesh old with new.

Good location. Good service. Nice bathroom. Wort bed I ever slept on.

This is simply a lovely hotel. The service is top-drawer. The rooms are beautifully appointed. The downstairs bar is extraordinary. Even the room service eggs were perfect.

Great location, spacious room, luxurious atmosphere. Nice to have free Wi-Fi, still a rarity at luxury hotels. Bed lacks a nice pillow-top and sheets weren't soft at all.

The hotel as nice but I wouldn't consider it to be a 4 1/2 star hotel. The beds are really hard. There isn't a pool or hot tub. Some things need to be updated. Small old TVs. The staff were very helpful and nice!

This is a historic hotel in city center, just a block or so from Fountain Square. Staff was friendly and generally accommodating. I had an atrium view room, which had a small sitting area. The room had a nice flat screen TV and the bed was extremely comfortable. Not a bad option but I would not go out of my way to stay here again.

Great location, decor is somewhat outdated. Service was great. Room was clean. HUGE bathroom. Parking is very expensive with valet. But worth it. I guess! Valet guys are quick. Would recommend it.
