The Edison Hotel - نيويورك

My stay was great! The building has been under renovation for some time now so there are some daytime work type noises, This is such an awesome building withsuch an awesome staff though that I'm glad for the renovations however noisy!!

We were awakened at 3 a.m. one night with a jack-hammer above our heads. Apparently for urgent repairs. Still trying to get a reimbursement for that night.

Rooms looked great online! But when you actually see the hallway and rooms very disappointed! For what we paid.

We would do it again for sure. We came to NY wanting to see a couple of shows and one of our theaters was literally next door to the Edison. Made it really easy to fly in and see a show the same night. The room wasn't all that nice, but it wasn't gross. It's just an older building, you know? But overall, very satisfied.

I would stay there again... great stay for price.

This hotel was fine for the price and location, for a business trip where I just slept there and spent all my time elsewhere. Nothing fancy or particularly attractive, but clean. Front desk staff were very competent and friendly.

One of the worst experiences I've had with a hotel. The nightly cost was satisfactory, but upon examination of the room, I was apalled. Very depressing, small, old, and unclean. WiFi didn't work, despite having to pay for it! I requested another room, and front- desk staff unwillingly provided me one - which was not much better. Front-desk staff is worth noting. Very unprofessional, unaccomodating, and just overall rude. I was quite surprised, because I have never complained about a hotel in a review, but this one required special attention as a warning to potential customers.

Room was very clean. Shower ran either very hot or very cold, and that would switch back and forth on a whim. Desk/reception staff were cold, but doormen, concierge, safety/security staff were excellent. Our room was double-booked, but staff took care of this quickly and efficiently. Walls were thin, we could hear pipes of neighboring showers. The pub was superb, very comfortable and safe. Once off the main lobby, the higher floor hallways were quite aging and in need of a touch-up. Overall would rate this hotel fair to good.

The Edison was the just the right location for us as I was in New York to see a Broadway play. Everyone at the hotel was very nice, and the only negative was that the room and bathroom I was in was old and in great need of refreshing. The bath tub had stains and the room was dark with drab and dark fabrics.

Based on other reviews, perhaps other floors are being remodeled, but the 16th floor is not.

While the price tag at the Edison may seem reasonable for the location, don't expect the same value for your money as other cities. The front desk service was slow, rooms and amenities are decent but nothing to write home about, and the shower fluctuates temperature wildly. Great location and decent value for tourists; not a smart business decision.

The room was about half the size of what was shown in the pictures. The bed was falling apart and the mattress had indentations of all previous guests (you could actually see this indentation while the bed was fully made). The hot water took over 10 minutes in the shower. The woman in the room next to us was coughing like she was dying and the walls were so thin, it kept us up all night. There is only one ice machine on the 2nd floor in a flooded closet. We booked the Queen bed room but I think they gave us the double. We purposely chose something higher than the lowest rate, though I can't imagine what the people who paid less than us got! We were very disappointed.

The location was great, the lobby is great, even the bathrooms in the lobby were great. The rooms have not been updated at all. The bedding is exceptionally old and the carpet is very dingy. There was one outlet in my entire room and I had to move the bed out to access it. The cellphone signal is horrible and even the wireless (you have to pay for it) is not a great signal. If you are traveling on business, choose another hotel. If you don't have electronics or care that the bedding is dingy, this is a great hotel for the area.

Edison is a great hotel. It was quiet and close to times square. It has a cool bar and a nice dinner. The room was big with a huge walk in closet. The bed was awesome making it tough to get up the next day!!!!! I highly recommend the Edison.

It was only one night, the location was perfect and the hotel was beautiful. I will be coming back again!

The location is spot on. Lobby sitting area was simple old elegance. Not the Intercontinental but also,not their price. Room size was sufficient, I think the room was fine and clean but I definitely would rearrange the furniture differently to utilize the space properly :)And replace the lamp shades that had waterstains.Maybe this room was not remodeled yet. Tiny bathroom but surprisingly plenty of room to put out stuff. No body lotion. They are remodeling so I would love to see it finished. Front desk was helpful, manager was there to assist and took charge.No coffee maker in room.Not alot of outlets. Small LCD TV. Large,busy,slow Starbucks across the street. The only thing is that the hallways reminded me of was an old apartment building. Overall for this price and location, we would definitely stay there again. Do something with hallways. Call me and I'll fix it up nicely! And I'll even rearrange the furniture.

Amazing location, room was small but fine for only one night. wouldn't stay their longer then a weekend

Awesome location to Times Square and Broadway. However, was not expecting The Edison to be so run down. Baseboards cracked and dirty, bedspreads gross, bathrooms tiny with a sliver of soap, tub was stained, plug fell out of outlet so I used a bandaid to hold it in place.

Difficult to describe. Decrepit throughout. Arrived at midnight and were told there is no running water until 5 am. Took one look at the room and suffocating bathroom and left. Really shocking.

The longest check-in I had in years --only 2 people on line and lost reservation, or computer down or card creator down. Hotel badly needs refurbishment: hall rugs are frayed and faded, rooms have nicks on walls and art deco wallpaper--that looks like it was last changed in the art deco era. Pluses: great location for theater, inexpensive on-site breakfast room

The Hotel Edison is so close and convenient to everything I wanted to see in New York. Yet it is so far from being in the 21st century! This place needs a complete "gut job" in terms of remodeling and customer service. I can't begin to describe how disappointed I was in my room, its furnishings, the size of the bathroom, etc. etc. Don't get me started on the horrible food and attitude of the waiters in the coffee shop. Speaking of attitude, someone needs to train the desk clerks on customer service. I am not telling anyone I stayed at the this hotel because I don't want to embarress myself.

Pleasantly surprised by how close the hotel was to Times Square and surrounding attractions. Room was very noisy because of construction across the street which made us not sleep much at all.

Booked a suite to sleep 3...and while not cheap, by comparison to surrounding properties was a deal. Hotel clean and nice but rooms are dated as heck, as if stepping into the 70's or 80's.. But is in the middle of it all, and can not be beat in that. Companion I was with is Bed Bug neurotic and did a complete check of the room, and all was clean. Bathroom small. But a nice property overall.

The two of us walked up from the bus station and took in the sights along the way, marveling at the afternoon confusion and crowds of Times Square and found the Hotel Edison just a few steps from the center of entertainment. Flashing lights, huge lighted signs, cabs, buses, thousands of people looking up, pointing, hustle, bustle and just like a scene from a movie- a total cacophony of urban life at the heart of the City that Never Sleeps. Entering the 47th Street lobby was a cool whisper of quiet and like stepping back 70 years with doormen, bell clerks, international clocks and attentive reception clerks. The marble floors and walls, the lamps, the murals...everything is just breathtaking exciting and the epitome of Art Deco. There are restaurants, bars and delis as well as concierge, travel coordinators and a small convenience store right in the hotel. Check-in was smooth and quick. We went upstairs and found a smallish room on the back side but clean and bright with two windows. Plenty of room for a couple- as long as you like each other! It was a quiet and restful during a whirlwind tour of Mid-town NYC. Subways stops, restaurants, delis, stores are close by and its walking distance to Central Park and world famous museums.' The hotel is literally dozens of steps from several theaters and a half block from the heart of Times Square, this is an wonderful place to stay to be super close to the action. Sights from movies and shows are all around, Radio City Music Halls, Rockefeller Center- everywhere you look it feels like you've been there on film. It should be noted that water straight from the bathroom faucet tastes as good as any I have ever tasted. The only complaints were not having a stopper for the bathtub and no ventilation fan in the bathroom. A coffee pot would have been nice. This stay was fairly expensive but wow!!...it made for a very memorable vacation. I recommend it highly.

This hotel is locate right in Time Square. Great price, great service, and great condition. Couldn't ask for a better hotel to stay in NYC for a couple of nights with my friends.

The room was very small. I booked a King Superior. The mattress was hard as a rock, no safe or refrigerator. The bathroom was even smaller. Very outdated. Location was great but I would never stay there again.

Can't beat the location!! It is an older hotel and the rooms are in need of updating, but were totally adequate. One rude waiter in the Sophia restaurant almost ruined our night, indifferent attendants at check-in and most importantly - NO COFFEE maker in the room or available in the lobby. First time ever for that experience! But definitely worth it for the price Hotel.com got the room for!!

The hotel is in the center of everything. The staff was very helpful and gave us great tips for things to see and how to get around the city. The only think I have to complain about is the jack hammer that went on from 11 pm until the following day at 10 am just outside our window. I know it was not the hotels fault nor could they do anything about it, but after a long day walking the city and no sleep, was not the best way to end my trip.
