I'd stay at The London again. Lobby is small but elegant. Room was quite large for a NYC hotel. Loved the bathroom. Ours had a double shower. Bed was comfy, room was quiet. I wouldn't say there's anything particularly distinguishing or special about the hotel, but it is quite nice and priced reasonably. I called ahead to let them know about my parents' anniversary (we'd reserved them a room, as well) and the hotel left them a very nice fruit basket, chocolates and sparkling wine which was quite lovely and appreciated.

The London may be as close to Times Square or the Theater District as other hotels (such as Double Tree or Renaissance), but it makes up for it in the following ways: 1) It's beautiful. The rooms have swoopy, curved sofas, a great lounge chair and a modern desk. 2) Bathrooms are gorgeous with white marble, lots of lighted mirrors, and nice amenities. 3) A huge walk-in closet with drawers, shelves, and full-length mirror. 4) Good service from the Concierge. In other hotels, you have to wait 10-30 minutes in line. Here, there's seldom a line, and at most, 1-2 people ahead of you. The concierge staff are very helpful, no matter how simple or complicated your request. The only hiccup to our stay was the construction noise in the mornings. There was NO information about that on either the hotels.com or the hotel website -- shame. You should warn guests in advance. If you're traveling with kids or teenagers, or just have more than one couple, definitely go for the suite. The extra space is well worth it!

We stayed here for a special occasion and our stay was amazing! We were upgraded to a corner suite on the 51st floor with spectacular views! Also we were happily surprised to receive a complimentry bottle of champagne and chocolates. The hotel is modern and beautifully decorated and the staff were friendly and very helpful. Will definitely stay here again the the future!

Cannot recommend this hotel enough, we stayed with our three teenage children, the staff, the food, size and comfort of the rooms and bed were all top class. The hotel is perfectly located very central yet the rooms were quiet enough to ensure a great nights sleep - we will definitely return. PS the gym is superb.

Perfect hotel, great location.

Great location and nice large rooms well appointed. Terrific for a NYC weekend getaway. Check your bill before you leave as the refrigerator is "wired" for movement and we were mistakenly charged --- but no issues to correct. Lastly avoid their in hotel restaurant (Gorden Ramsey), it is over priced and underperforms. Too many other good spots to choose from.

A good hotel for the weekend - if you can afford it. Good location, clean if somewhat sparse rooms, and professional hotel personnel. Good access to public transportation and taxi's. Lobby is very busy and minimilist in size and decor. Not a place to sit around while waiting for someone to arrive. Overall, nice hotel but I wouldn't want to live here.

Pro - Arrived at 10 am hoping to just check our bags & were able to check in. The staff all were very personable. Suite was comfortable. Con - Our room and the halls were a bit worn, though functional

The staff tries to remedy any issues. There is a bit of construction near the hotel but the bedroom is still quiet. This time I slept on a cot in the sitting room and heard a bit more noise but the cot was comfortable and I managed to get a great night's sleep. The second tv didn't ever work in the sitting area but I was always too tired to mind. The hotel was having wifi issues. I love this hotel and the staff tries and even if they don't want to come through, if pushed they will. Location is ideal for theatre,5th ave shopping and museums, and Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center.

Stayed two nights at The London NYC in March 2012. Got a free upgrade to a suite which was very nice for the price I payed. Spacious and high quality interior. Very comfy bed and big bathroom - only thing lacking was a bathtub but the 2 m2 shower made up for it... All in all, an excellent choice for staying in the Big Apple. Will stay there again - and then make time to try the Michelin star Gordon Ramsey restaurant in the hotel...

It was fabulous. Location, hospitality and great rooms.

This hotel worked very well for us. on business but with a desire to "feel" NY...hotel itself was attractive lobby, very good bar for drinks (great bar tender, Greg, been around for 18 years, NY guy), lots of places within a few feet of the hotel, restaurants, bars, deli's, etc. Price we paid was fair for NY, particularly for what we got.

The hotel was great as always. The only complaint is the room service menu for breakfast. The cereal was terrible!

This hotel is absolutely wonderful. The rooms are stylish, spacious and quiet. The hotel staff, especially Maria at the front desk, is gracious, poised and helpful beyond compare. Stayed at a 5 star during our last visit to NYC and would easily catagorize our experience at The London as comparable to a 5 star stay.

We loved it...Especially my 14 year old daughter when she found out the boy band One Direction was staying there. The service and our suite were above expectations. We will definitely stay there again!

Clean, high-end, luxurious with helpful staff and all the premium amenities, I loved this Hotel and will definitely return.

For the price of the rooms at this hotel, I expect to receive at least the same service as I would receive at any 4-star establishment. Instead, service was awful and unresponsive, and our stay topped off with hotel security racially profiling one of our party. When we got to the room there were full garbage cans with the previous guest's garbage. Yuck! Then, although the hotel immediately agreed to provide a small complimentary fridge for me to store breast milk, I had to call the front desk three times over 2 days to actually get it. The same issue arose when we tried to get a luggage cart, which despite three calls never came after 45 minutes of waiting. On the morning of our second day we woke up to loud construction. The hotel claimed to have placed a note in our room notifying us of this possibility, but there was no note. Then finally, when one of the members of our party was coming back to the hotel she was stopped by security and denied access even though she was a guest with a working key. Instead of attempting to verify that she was a guest, she was just told, "no, you are not a guest here." Our friend is Venezuelan, but other than looking like she is from a Spanish speaking country, there is nothing "suspicious" about her. She is well dressed, well groomed, speaks perfect English, and had her room key with her! It was absurd, and when I spoke to the manager she initially suggested that the stop had to do with a high profile guest, but that was nonsense because they hadn't stopped anyone else and it would have taken only one moment of their time to verify that she was in fact a guest staying in the room number she provided to the security guard. We reserved this hotel because we wanted a multiple bedroom suite and good service while traveling with small children. I've had far better service at every other hotel I have ever stayed at in New York, and there are quite a few ranging from 3 star to 5 star. I will not stay here again.

We are native New Yorkers who stayed for a romantic night away from home in a "luxury midtown hotel". It was nice enough, but not what we expected. To be fair, we're a bit biased from having stayed at The London, West Hollywood (California). Now THAT is a luxury property. This felt like a converted office building or old Condo. The rooms were spacious for a midtown hotel, and the service was lovely. It just was lacking that "wow" factor. 4 stars, for sure. 5 stars?? I dunno... I don't think so.

Lucked out! Got it for a great price on short notice... Lovely suite. Kind service. Reminded me of a hotel I stay in in London. Close to everything. Would have booked it again for future stays but could not get the same price range.

My husband and I loved our stay at the London. We had a big room with a separate sitting area that we enjoyed inviting friends over to gather before dinner. The bathroom was great with two shower heads and the lighting in the bathroom was awesome. ( I would however add a sliding door to the shower enclosure. The water does spray out into the room a bit the way it is designed.) The gym was also spacious and well equipped. And we ordered room service from the Gordon Ramsy restaurant and were very pleased with the food. All in all a great room for the money in NYC.

Had an amazing birthday night with my wife. Highly recommend the hotel. Great location, staff, amenities, etc... Living the life of luxury!!!

Excellent service, nice size room had a great 4 night stay in January 2012. Would recommend to both business and vacationers. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Love the location of this hotel if your goal is Midtown. Staff are always very helpful.

Lovely hotel in a great location. We stayed in a London suite, which was great and huge for New York standards. The only downside was the cost of things like tea and coffee if you wanted them deliverered to your room ($15) as there weren't the facilities to make your own but that's nothing to stop you going.

Service is top notch and reminds me of the quality you get from international 4 star hotels. We stayed at in the London Suite which was perfect for a family of 3 with more than enough room to spare. The amenities, service and location were all perfect.

I thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated staying at the London in NYC. Staff were friendly and helpful, the location was great and the rooms were very spacious and well decorated.

Great room. Incredibly quiet. Well appointed and comfortable. Great restaurants attached too! Charming stay.
