after reading the reviews of this hotel i was a bit nervous until we got there it is an older hotel but the room was a good size and clean , there were poeple in the rooms beside and above us we did not hear them at all , there is a trucking yard next door but did not bother us at all, over all not a bad place to stay

Outdated hotel kind of dingy but the mattress was comfortable.

I spend the week living in Carlsbad for work and booked this hotel for conveineice and a pretty decent price. Everything was pretty standard, but my room was right next to the stairs which were really loud any time anyone went up or down them...which was a lot. The oil field workers stared making noise at 5am and the industrial parking lot next door had semi's honking their horns every morning. Otherwise, it was clean and alright. The chicken strips at their restaurant were awesome. I'll be staying there again next week but requesting a room away from the stairs.

the bathroom was very old and outdated. The hot water was scalding hot. The shower faucet was an old faucet that you could easily get scalded on. A new scald proof pressure balanced faucet should be installed in the bathroom.

The room wasn't particularly clean and the whole place was pretty run-down, but it wasn't as awful as I had expected from what the previous reviews said. We had my 2 month-old puppy with us so our choices were limited in where we could stay. It was the most expensive and least comfortable of the three hotels we stayed at on our trip. As just a place to crash after a long day of driving, it was decent. The people at the desk were very polite.

The hotel is located at the south end of Carlsbad which is convenient if you are headed to Carlsbad caverns. The neighborhood is not very nice in that you are surrounded by loud, oil and gas trucks which raise a lot of dust and emit a steady stream of smog. Standing out on the balcony was not very pleasant. For the price it is not a bad value and the people at the front desk were nice. But I won't stay there again because of the surroundings.

Non-smoking rooms reeked of smoke. Bathrooms in sorry disrepair. One of the saddest looking place I have ever stayed.

We stayed at this hotel several times during our trip to Carlsbad. Our rooms were always clean and well maintained. This is a good value hotel, if you are just looking for a place to sleep while in Carlsbad.

I was woken at 4AM by the sound of dripping water. The guest on the floor above must have been taking a shower, since water was dripping through the ceiling into my tub. I looked later in the morning and it was evident that the problem was known, but not properly attended to. There had been a very sloppy patch where the water comes through. I asked the desk clerk about it. All I got was a shrug and mumble in response.

Upon arriving found our room to be very odiferous (like cat urine). The toilet was backed up. The shower was black around the drain. Found a very LARGE scorpion/bug in pool. The staff was very accommodating. They catered to many of the 'workers' located in the area. Not really a 'family' oriented hotel. Definetly not worth the price-but when you book and pay in advance, you have to be willing to 'grin and bear it.'

The room had 15- 20 flies in it when we arrived. It was poolside, which meant we we were awakened by loud music from the poolside bar until it closed at midnight. The free breakfast had no meat, eggs or potatoes, but did have a waffle maker. I will never stay here again unless I absolutely have no money or time to go somewhere else.

Nice hotel, has a bar with restaurant on the premises, good stop for those continuing to the caverns or are on a way back.

We stayed on our way to Tx. The room was falling apart, literally. Shady characters, no service at front desk in the morning. Very poor complimentary breakfast. Will never stay at this chain again.

Nice pool. room has a musty odor, do not recommend this hotel.

wasn't that great...if it's a low price and you don't need much (just a bed and roof over your head) then book it. If you want some comfort and security - look elsewhere.

Room was nice.. Comfortable room & clean. Time for new carpert.. Nice large pool.. Hot tub out of service but to hot for it anyway.. Very busy hotel but it was quite.. Very please over all..

Upon arrival informed pool out of order, Temps in area 107 degrees. Facility old and dirty free breakfast shabby. Look for something better..

This is probably the cheapest place to stay in Carlsbad, NM. The motel feels very dated but is otherwise okay. Having a fridge was a big plus for me. The continental breakfast was par for the course.

Room was clean and ok for the price ,but the hotel was dirty,trash cans over flowing,beer bottles in the hallways, no water in the pool ,in gereral VERY poor maintance !

Terrible hotel! Lobby dirty, had to wait 10 minutes to find a reservation clerk, very moldy bathroom, water in shower did not work, send to wrong room (that was occupied), noisy, maid service in room before we were gone for the day so they were there while we were trying to get ready to leave for the day. After cleaning, still moldy. There are other motels in Carlsbad.... and I am sure any one of them would be better than this one. Yuck!!!!

This was such a bad hotel as far as cleanliness and maintenance and noise that we packed back up and drove all night to get home in another state rather than stay there. The hotel rep. did try to accommodate us with a better room after the faucet in the bathtub FELL OFF, but the 2nd and 3rd room options were just well below standard as well. The hotel took dogs, but the open grassy areas were covered in dog poop clearly not being cleaned up after. At 10pm at night, the clientele were being so loud, and many kids were riding bikes and scooters all down the sidewalks in front of the rooms. The mattresses were weak and springy, and we werent going to stick around to see their idea of breakfast. Horrible experience.

I was surprised at how nice and helpful the staff were there and how well taken care of the hotel was. It wasn't supter flashy, but comfortable and not very far away from the caverns. The breakfast was good too. It was a good place to stay for the price.

This hotel seems to be making an effort ( I guess they put new carpet in the rooms) but it is one of the most disgusting and depressing places I have ever stayed. Sadly, everything was sold out in the area and I had no choice but I literally took a bottle of lysol, sprayed everything down and wiped it off myself. The room was disgustingly dirty. There was caked ketchup on the desk table, dust and hair on the in room coffee tray, a sad, sad lobby. Just terrible, I couldn't wait to get out of there and skipped the breakfast so don't know about that. I do want to say the front desk person was very professional and calm with a line 5 people deep. Kudos to him!

The room we got looked like there was feces wiped on the wall. The drapes had been cut with scissors to fit around the heater instead of being properly hemmed. The bed was fairly comfortable, but the sheets were yellowish. The towels were HORRIBLE. The only good thing I can say is the water pressure in the shower was awesome! But, they did shut our water off for about an hour without notifying us. And the free breakfast? Lousy! I would NEVER stay there again.

The room was dirty. When we left a guy asked us to help him because his car was broken down. Apparently he had tried with several other people as well.

Very dirty rooms 108,110 There is black mold in the bathrooms,blood on walls, Furniture breaking down Would sleep outside before I would stay there.

The stay was great for 1 night. Hotel could use some upgrades to rooms. Overall it was a very pleasant stay.

Hotel with good location, but bad maintanence, clean rooms, OK for just to spend a night. All laundry machine were broken and dirty.

Was the only thing available at the time online, now i know why.... everyone else must have gptten the memo...This Place was GROSS, dirty bathrooms, breakfast area even made my 14 yr old gringe, enough said!!

The pool and bar were very nice. However the bar could open earlier than 3pm on weekends. It's not a 5 star hotel but the bed was comfortable and the TV had ample stations.

The first thing we noticed about our room was the smell. There was mole in the bathroom and the general condition and clenliness was not what we would want. The listing showed a restraunt on the premises. THIS IS NOT A RESTRAUNT. IT IS A BAR!!! And a rather rowdy bar at that. Don't bring kids here to eat. Luckily the waitress was kind enough to recomend another place to take the family for dinner but this town is rather slim on restraunts. Try Danny's Bar-B-Que.

The room was horrible! The floor had huge stains on it, and the toilet was broken. There were people all in the parking lot that were not supposed to be at the hotel at all....they weren't guests. My husband and I both felt very unsafe, and we actually left....ate the money we paid for the room....and booked another one for the night.

A very clean and up to date Hotel. It was newly remodeled and clean. It had a Great Continental Breakfast, a VERY Friendly staff and a super Sports Bar. After reading reviews that there are no GOOD Hotels in Carlsbad I was pleasantly surprised. Very Close to the Caves.

Clean, comfortaable and roomy

The rooms were large but the bathroom tub was not properly cleaned out. The soap and shampoo provided were pretty bad as well. The complimentary breakfast options were good however.

The hotel is quite old and run down on the outside. A water main broke while we were there and we were without water for a while. I don't think the hotel was a very good value, but the service was fine and the rooms were clean.

I loved that I could take my pet.The swimming pool was clean,but the jacuzzi was not working.The bar was alright too.I would stay there again!
