Huntingdon Hotel & Suites on the Harbour - فيكتوريا

This hotel was being taken over by new management in March. Unfortunately the current owners are not keeping it up. The restaurant was closed, no staff, etc. My TV did not work so they offered me a different room as there was no maintenance staff. I changed rooms and the TV did not work in my second room. It is a great location and hopefully the new owners will bring the hotel up to a minimum level to provide a comfortable stay but right now it desperately needs updating. For $9 a night more you can go across the street to the Harbout Towers and enjoy an up to date hotel with a great restaurant and many amenities.

Our first time staying at this hotel, and it will now be our place to stay for all future trips to Victoria! What you get for the price definitely can't be beat. The hotel is a bit older and the decor slightly dated, but it's clean, the rooms are big, and like I said, you can't complain considering the excellent rates they offer and what you get for it.........GREAT value. I was actually expecting worse, but was pleasantly surprised! Not to mention that it's located in a great area right in the Harbour and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I definitely give this hotel two thumbs up all around and would highly recommend it!

Hotel service was great but I would not recommend the hotel restaurant --- the service was very very poor and the waitress was rude.

Can hear conversations between walls. With all noise in hotel from other guests could not sleep from midnight to 4:30 a.m. Staff did nothing to aleviate the situation and when discussed at check out they did not seem to care. Would never stay again and would not recommend.

on check in I was told I had been given an upgrade - I had booked 2 queen beds & was upgraded to one queen bed - bigger room - only problem was I was travelling with my sister - not much of an upgrade - had to decline

I can say without hyperbole or embellishment that the hotel room was 10 times better than the room I've rent in Seattle. I wish I could "transplant" that room back home!

Hi everyone i had stayed here for 2 nights and its wasn't the best. the lady at the front desk wasn't really nice, they didn't tell us that when we signed up for it that there would be a 200$ fee for each room and we didn't have the money luckily we had some one lend us the money. The light in our room went out and they didn't have someone working at the time to give us a new one. instead we had to use our own lamp for when we needed to use the shower or bathroom. the "exerise" room wasn't even there only to machines that were old. the jacuzzi was like a warm bubble bath and the sauna was warm not the best.

Have stayed there often and will continue to do so as long as the room rate remains one of the best deals in town. The hotel is frayed, faded and friendly and we like the James Bay location. The plumbing can be extremely noisy and the sound insulation from rooms above you js not the best. But we'll take it at the price.

A nice older style hotel with large rooms, quiet except for some low level music across the street. Allows dogs, but the rooms were clean. Great location, can get up and walk to the parliament buildings! Walked all around town and didn't have to worry about parking. Lovely area of town, full of snow birds, I think. Definitly would stay again. Also has coffee and tea maker so you can have coffee before going out in the morning!

Just an overnite stay but were very pleased

I found the rooms to be acceptable for the low price we paid. The front desk stay were not eager to help and had to be asked to take further steps to assist me in locating a tourist spot I wished to visit.

Note: You'll need a credit card even if you paid online with Debit, we almost couldn't get the room on arrival except that one person staying with us had a CC. We were just looking for a place to pass out at, so the room just had to be: - Cheap - Clean - Easy to check-in and check-out - Decent beds This place was all these things with the additional of 24-hr front desk service. The real exception was they were willing to hold our bags ALL DAY after we checked out while we went out to Victoria, without a car, we would have been carrying that stuff around forever. Great and basic place. The biggest complaint is that everything in the room is a rather old. But as long as your not going for the room, (you shouldn't be!! Victoria is great) you'll be satisfied.

The Huntingdon Hotel is just off the harbor, and It was just a short walk to shops, cafes, and pubs. We very much enjoyed are stay and enjoyed walking to the musem and the goverment building. Loved the underground parking and the staff was very helpful.

Very peaceful and quiet. The beds were comfortable and we had a good sleep, what more do you want.

good price for the off season. Room smelled old and stale. So much potential but going to waste as this hotel needs a major over haul.

The hotel was very clean, the room was spacious and well laid out. Staff was very helpful in giving assistance around the Hotel and directions to places in town.

Cool old place in a great location with really nice people and great service.

Good hotel with a large, comfortable and clean room. One drawback was that if your room was on the first floor (we were in a 'dog friendly' room) it was actually necessary to have two short flights of stairs to walk. Also, to get to breakfast, more stairs were necessary. This was fine for us but older couples might be in some difficulty. The area of the hotel is very nice, further from town but still near restaurants and other main attractions. Pet fees were higher here with a fee per day per dog where other places we have been charged per day period.

I want to write a good review of this hotel but just can't. We have stayed there twice because of the location , the rates, dog friendly, and parking garage but we would rather not stay again. There was plumbing noise from upstairs almost all night, and the carpets are filthy in the pet rooms and the regular rooms. The place really needs a facelift.

The staff where really friendly and helpful. the rooms where neat clean fantastic size and really comfortable beds with lots of room to stretch out on

This hotel offers good value and a reasonable standard in this very interesting area of Victoria. It is not fancy. I've stayed there several times and never been dissatisfied.

Conveniently located and within walking distance to all downtown and harbor activities. Underground parking for $9/day is pricey but impossible to park on street with 1 hour limit during the day. Nice enough room, but could hear neighbor's plumbing too well. Needs a microwave. Has refer. and coffeemaker. Bed was QUITE firm. Wind was blowing curtains in room with window shut but heater kept room warm in January. Plenty of fresh air! Breakfast/lunch room was VERY chilly in January. Had to wear a coat. Great hotel for the price. Really!

We go to Victoria every January for my Bday and stay at different hotels every time, we loved the location and comfort of this one so much I've just booked another trip for March!

OK, the location is absolutely the reason for the hotel's existence. I live in the area and have stayed there twice, but I've known of it for a long time. It's been around a while, one of those hotels with studio-style suites as well as the more standard hotel room with two double beds and an iron (etc). It's got an absolutely lovely breakfast room that looks out over a garden with the Coho ferry pulling into the harbour beyond. The rates are great, though do realize that not all the rooms come equipped with studio amenities of fridge, stove, dishes, kettle. Parking is extra. You can always take the chance of there being on-street parking in front of the hotel, but if you're wake up on a weekday, be prepared to get up and move the car because you can only park 1 hour on weekdays starting at 8 am. The neighbourhood is great; 10-min walk along the harbour to Fisherman's Wharf one direction, a good 30 min walk along the harbour to the famous blue bridge in the other. And behind the hotel is the James Bay neighbourhood. V interesting residential neighbourhood, quite safe to stroll about it, and even walk all the way to the Ogden Point Breakwater.

It was good for the price, but I wouldn't stay there again. I would have liked to be a bit closer to everything. The hotel is fine, staff is very friendly and nice; but it needs to be updated really badly. The room was clean; but the hot tub and sauna where pretty sketchy and run down. I requested a king bed and got a king bed, but it was really just 2 twin mattresses right next to each other, not all that comfortable. if you're going just to see victoria and don't care about the room; this is a safe and good place to stay. If you're going for the hotel room. I wouldn't recommend it. I did read the reviews prior to going, and I got what I expected so I wasn't at all unhappy with my stay (except for the seagull that camped outside my room and the musty smell of the hotel).

Great place to stay if you're town to have fun and not stay in your room all day. Good location for the bars and night life. Awesome pricing for an expensive town.

Things were fine except the TV receotuin quit. The staff tried another room for me but there was no reception there as well.
