This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The halls smelled like urine, the staff were smoking at the front desk, and the keys were deactivated after the first night of a 2 night visit. I requested a cot and the desk staff said he did not have a key to access them, our toilet clogged in the middle of the night and the desk staff again said they did not have a key to get to a plunnger. I had to urinate in the tub and leave early to fing a bathroom at the donut shop across the street.

I don't know where to begin. The carpets in the room were so dirty that they were sticky and felt strange to walk on. We had to keep our shoes on, always. Beyond any words to describe the carpets. NOT cleanable, they needed to be replaced. Our non-smoking room smelled worse than a poker room. The halls too. I sneezed several times and our 5 month old baby did too. If it want already paid for, we would have left. We did NOT renew and left. We went to the United inn, and it was perfect. The days inn has a view facing the thruway. The parking lot was our view, with multiple storage tractor trailer units stored in a unsafe way all on the back side of the building with trash strewn about them and on top. Including a telephone with cord. The place was worse than a college dorm. The trailers are unsafe because walking to the car, you have no idea what was behind them, or who. The windows in the room are sealed shut and don't open. Their was NO air in the room. Just a nasty smell. The room was so stale and with an ashtray smell, that if we weren't so tired we probably would've slept in our car and been happier. The words that came to mind while in the room was GROSS, NASTY, SMELLS, DONT TOUCH ANYTHING, and I cant wait until we leave. Look at the elevator, torn carpet, dirty, smelling, poorly lit halls smelling like an ashtray, and the room was the same! Also says there is a pool. There is a parking lot on the back side with storage trailers and trash. No pool. We would never stay in this hotel again ...even if it was free, unless they really put some money into fixing some serious issues.

What an unbelieveable dump. Shocked Days Inn Flag would let this atrocity exist. Carpet, bed, bedspread and entire room 20 yrs old. Water damage from shower curtain not fitting, no coffee in room, phone system was broke and missed very important calls. Steer Clear.

It would have been nice if you had a pool. When I called for the reservation you said you had a pool. Also the ceiling in the bathrooms were peeling. It would have been nice if you had bigger pillows. Overall the place was nice for a over night stay but not for extended stay say 5 nights without a pool

Room and hotel not that clean. Beds made alot of noise and very hard.

The hotel was not too bad. The beds were uncomfortable. There were two lamps in the bedroom that were not working. The juice machine was not working. Over all, it was not really that bad. There is a Denny's right next door so we had a good breakfast. The hotel is close to the thruway and not too far from the NYS Fair.

The beds and bathroom seemed clean, though I found a used facecloth hanging among the folds of the shower curtain. There was no fan in the bathroom. The room air conditioner was noisy but functional. The carpets in the corridor smelled of smoke and the one elevator had a badly stained carpet. I was dismayed to find our phone did not work, and was told that none of the phones worked, but I was welcome to use the front desk one anytime - not exactly useful for calling my daughter's room!! Also, I found out in the morning that my daughter's room's peephole did not work. That did not feel very secure! Finally, the service at the desk was mediocre. At check-in, it took longer than it should have just to confirm that we had a reservation and sort out our room keys - the machine for that had to be shut down and started up. At check-out, the employee barely glanced at me and certainly did not wish me well or ask me if everything about our stay had been okay. I will not be staying at the Days Inn Syracuse University Carrier. It does not live up to the chain's promises (which include, by the way, a room in which everything works).

The sheets and bathroom were clean, but that's about it. The comforter on the bed was covered with stains (on the inside). The carpet had black marks imbedded in it. The hallways were DIMLY lit, (both depressing and unsafe) and the rugs were FILTHY. The lobby was also filthy - the rugs had popcorn and food all over them, the chairs around the TV set were stained on both the arms and the place where might (I wouldn't) set your head. I DO NOT recommend this hotel - it needs a MAJOR COSMETIC UPGRADE!

Hotel location is so good. It is near to highway. But smell bad, dirty. stove broken, micro wave broken,

Hotel past it's prime by quite a few years. just like Syracuse. Friendly staff made overused hotel and non existent breakfast bearable.

First, checking in was an ordeal. It took 45 minutes to get our rooms. Then, one room was already occupied and it took another 30 minutes to find another room which was not even on the same floor as our group. Next, one room, which was clearly a non-smoking room, reeked of cigarette smoke and was quite offensive. Finally, in the morning, there was NO hot water. We were forced to take cold showers, which was horrible. We will not return.

There was no hot water in the hotel. I was forced to take a ice cold shower. I booked a non-smoking room and was placed in a smoking room. The worst hotel experience I have ever had. I did not expect much to begin with and this stay did not meet my expectations. Don't even count on the breakfast.

Had a two night stay at the Days Inn Syracuse Univ. The following items were reported to the Inn's desk staff: 1. The mattress on one bed had a broken spring that was protruding from the entrance side of the bed,which might have penetrated the user's thigh if it had not been noticed before hand. The mattress should not have been on the bed at all. The entire side showed a total collapse. 2. The AC unit was so loud it was not used because of the noise. The room became extremly hot. 3. One one the floor lamps was defective and could not be used for room illumination. Broken socket.

I almost did not stay here because of all the other reviews. But I took a chance and was glad I did. The staff was very pleasant and the coffee was good.. The hotel is in need of renovation but it was obvious by the construction containers out back that it was either already happening or will be happening soon. Despite the normal wear and tear on the furnishings and the building everything was as clean as it could be. The only problem I saw was the usual mess left by inconsiderate fellow travelers. Someone left a dirty diaper outside a back exterior door. They could have taken 50 steps and put in a dumpster. (The hotel staff removed it as soon as they were informed of it's existence). A short drive away are some very good restaurants (in a corporate area). The hotel itself offers a lite breakfast but there is a Denny's across the parking lot and Dunkin Donuts across the street. Very close to I-90 easy on and off.

I wasn't expecting much for the price but it was even worse than I thought. The service was terrible, the entire hotel smelled like smoke, and the rooms were dirty. I checked in late at night and didn't see the bloody fingerprints on the bathroom door or the drips of blood going down corner of the room until the morning. I couldn't get out of there fast enough.

Being that this was a quick trip to Syracuse for a Job interview, i didnt come here expecting 4 star hotel service. therefore, this place was what i was looking for: roof over my head with heat, a shower, and a bed--which is what i got and for the price i thought it was all right. there were a couple of things i noticed though--when i checked in the staff told me that i might not have towels in my room, and that i was SOL if this was the case and i wanted to take a shower because they didnt know where to get the towels. i thought that was interesting but luckily i had towels in my room. also, bright and early at 5:45 am the next morning, another customer loudly tried to come into my room, (fortunately i had the security lock on) but that allowed for me to be frightfully woken up. then the front desk called and asked who i was because she had no proof that anyone was supposed to be in my room. thought that was very annoying because she talked to me like i was a child. otherwise my stay here was ok. if youre looking for a simple place, with the bare minimum of what u need for a night, this will suffice.

It was okay. I wasn't happy with missing tiles in the bathroom.

Stay here only if you have no other options.

The beds were as hard as a rock. None of us slept including my kids. We left a day early to get home to our own beds.

This was the worst hotel I have stayed in for a while. It was not in a good part of town. The people at the front door were talking about a stabbing that happened to their friend the night before and it looked like a drug deal was going down in the parking lot. The check in was fine, but when I got to the room there were enough towels for 2 and our reservations included 3 people. We stayed for 3 days and had to ask for towels every day. The ceiling in the bathroom leaked above the toilet, so if the room above us flushed the toilet we got a shower. Apparently it was known by the front desk because when we complained, they went directly to the room above us. The cleaning was horrible for the first 2 days but got better the third day. It was like a transient hotel and I would not recommend it to anyone

Overall, this would have been a satisfactory hotel experience except that there were no toiletries in the bathroom (soap, shampoo, etc.), only one set of towels was provided for a reservation for two people, AND only scalding hot or freezing cold water in the shower!!

This is a fleabag. Hotel is old, not well-maintained, and smelly. For the cost per night, you can do better. Stay elsewhere.

My stay was a horrible experience. Unfortunately the entire town was booked due to college move-in and the State fair. While the people working there attempted to accommodate all the upset people, the hotel is run down. Most rooms only had one towel, mine had none. It was very musty and the carpet was wet. The showers barely put out any water, and the water was only lukewarm. The only good point is the bed was somewhat comfortable and it was quiet so I was able to sleep.

Where do I start -- the rudeness of the workers (swearing about other workders), the key to the wrong room, the no towels, no soap, no hot water, the crowd hanging around the lobby and outside. As a frequent business traveler, I can't even believe this hotel is still open and in business. Not only did we have a bad experience, everyone who was checking out that were part of the Syracuse Univ. visit, were also extremely angry and mad about similar issues.

The hotel was located right off the highway, which was very convenient. The check-in process was straight-forward, and the lobby was clean and well-presented. Our fourth-floor room was clean, but despite its being a non-smoking room, we could smell what seemed like smoke in the room (we were not absolutely sure if it was cigarette smoke - it just might have been the chemical used to clean the carpet). The beds were comfortable, and the pillows, particularly nice. The only nit was that the bathroom door would not lock inside, but this was not a big deal. The complementary continental breakfast was nice. Overall, a very good value for the money and I would recommend the hotel to others.

The clerk was very rude at checkin and checkout. The room was dirty: curtains, floor and bed. Fire the maids and start fresh

mat5ress Spring were to weak and were making noise when turning myself. Also Toilet was not flushing, but was fixed immediately after we came back from our outing.

this hotel was horrible, worst stay ever. rooms were not clean, toilet seat was broken, bed is hard as a rock, air conditioner was too loud could not sleep and barley worked, could hear every single thing happening around us. the service at the front desk was awful, was treated poorly and yelled at. i do not under any curcumstance recomend this hotel to anyone.

This Hotel is very very embarrassing hotel, we wont get enough hot water for bath, bad maintenance no one care over there. i am really surprised once i saw that room...very very old beds, if u move bit u can get a noise. Totally i disappointed.

I wouldn't want to stay here for any length of time, but the Days Inn was fine for a short stay. The bed was really hard and made a weird crinkling sound whenever I moved, and the window in the room looked right out onto a truck parking lot, but it was reasonably clean, though the rug was stained. Check-in was efficient and accurate, and the staff cordial. The breakfast was adequate, and -- most importantly to me -- the location is good, just a few miles from Syracuse University and near a slew of chain restaurants and the Carrier plant. So if you are going to the University for graduation, Parents' Weekend, whatever, and you don't want to spend a small fortune on a closer hotel, the Days Inn is fine.

This hotel needs a makeover with new staff!!! It was so filthy and old...and the staff needs to learn some manners!!!

Average for the price, but the room was in need of repair. Bathroom was very shabby and toilet not secured to the floor. Also, very noisy with hall sounds and doors slamming coming in loud and clear.

Was a decent motel for the area and price.

The lady in front desk had nocustomer serv. training at all. The room needed to be clean. Was a long stay at this hotel because the smell of cigaretts and smoke was to strong specially for us because we are a not smoking couple. I will not recommend this hotel to any of my friends or to any person who will want to stay there.

great for a place to crash, clean, good value

dirty, dirty, dirty. lumpy bed. poorly maintained. noisy ac that only sometimes operated. if looking for true value, spend $10-$20 more and stay at the Comfort Inn, which is located just around the corner.

This was the cheapest hotel I could find in the area for a weekend trip to Syracuse for a Fottball game. It was exactly what I was looking for. Cheap, clean, conveniet.

Clean only on the surface. Dirt and garbage under the dresser, the room had an oder and the front entrance was in serious need of repair and update.

Amazing price for an average hotel.
