MY HUSBAND & I WERE TRAVELING WITH OUR 50 POUND BLACK LAB DOG AND THE HOTEL WAS GREAT! THERE IS A DOG WALK AREA OUTSIDE WHICH WAS VERY CONVENIENT CONSIDERING WE WERE DOWNTOWN GRAND RAPIDS! THE ROOM WAS CLEAN AND THE STAFF WAS VERY FRIENDLY. WE HAD DINNER & BREAKFAST IN THE HOTEL AND THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT!

they overbooked and did not give us what we had requested. We wanted and booked a King and got two double beds. We had asked to have two rooms together and had one on floor 4 and the other on floor 8.

Across the street from two of Grand Rapids' major museums, and a very short walk to downtown. The staff was friendly, professional and knowledgeable about the city. The rooms were clean and well-appointed. There is a bar, restaurant, pool and spa on site, though I didn't use any of them.

The beds were comfortable and the rooms seemed to keep outside noise to a minimum. Doorman was alert and helpful. Night desk clerk was friendly and acknowledging. Movement in the room was cramped for three people. Check-in could have used additional help. Had to wait at least 10 minutes to get to the counter. Don't know what is the norm as we don't travel very often. Location and price were right!

Management and hotel staff were EXCELLENT, a pleasure to deal with. Great location, walking distance to bars and restaurants. Pet friendly, again, management very helpful attending to our needs with a medium (50 lb) size dog. Room was clean. I booked this hotel for convenience, that being the proximity to downtown Grand Rapids. Only complaint is price. I stayed in an Executive Suite (one average size room, king bed, sleeper sofa, mini fridge, sink, and microwave - *NOT* a kitchenette however). I have paid MUCH less at other chains for rooms that included a full kitchenette and were just as nice. Overall, however, great experience.

Had a great stay, as usual. When I come to grand rapids, I always stay here because of it's great location! I will be back for sure.

Hotel has been recently & tastefully refurbished along with cheerful service. Close to everything; across from Ford Presidential Museum & the Public Museum on the Grand River; 2 blocks to Convention Center, shopping, 50 resturants; 3 blocks to Van Andel Arena. Price is great in comparison to other downtown hotels along with free parking.

The hotel was right in downtown Grand Rapids and was a $5 cab ride from everything. The lobby, elevator, hallways, and rooms were all very clean and the front desk staff was extremely friendly. If I come back to Grand Rapids again, I know I'll be staying at the Holiday Inn Downtown.

Holiday Inn Downtownb is just that, walking easily to center of town with huge number of restaurants and stores along with the new Art Museum, the Presidential Library and the river side Public Museum. The Van Andel Arena & Convention Center are only 3 short blocks. Hotel has been nicely renovated with a pleasant entry, comfortable rooms and good service.

I've stayed at this hotel a few times now and I have to say it's one of my favorite hotels in Grand Rapids. It's in a great location and it's very nice and clean. It's usually a much better price than it's competitors across the river and in my opinion it's just as nice. You can still walk to all the fun stuff to do in the downtown area. It's just a short little walk over the bridge and you are right in the heart of downtown. Great hotel and highly recommended.

Everything from the front desk to the restrurant was very nice... my problem began when I was charged within three days of being there with another room charge. When I called they assured me it would be taken care of... after several other calls , a lower amount was credited. Which then led me to another call to finally resolve the issue...

It was a bit noisy being right next to the highway and it took a bit of time to get the room warm but other than that it was nice. The cleaning woman did try to get in quite early but it was mostly funny. Don't plan on watching any good TV though...only a bout 6 channels.

Great location for downtown events. Rooms very clean and comfortable. Restaurant had excellent service and food.

I couldn't believe that we were given a handicap room. There was a desk, no table, with just one chair so we couldn't even sit together to have a drink. Also, it had just a full size bed. I felt like I was going to roll out of it all night. There was no little frig in the room for any drinks. I was totally disappointed and I could have stayed several other places for less money and now I wish I would have.

The Holiday Inn is a GREAT place to stay and the Price is Right. Nice friendly check in desk!

While the location and maintanence of the hotel was very good, I can't recomend this hotel because the room was so uncomfortable. The air conditioner would not cool the room below 77 degrees, way to warm on a hot Fall Day. The thermostats simply do not work, or are limited as to how low the temp can be set.

We spent a night here for Artprize even tho we live locally. It's a great hotel at the perfect starting off spot for walking G.R. during Artprize. It was great to soak in the hot tub after walking all day. Will definitely do it again next year.

We have stayed at this hotel many times and always enjoy our stay! Had a wonderful meal in the hotel restaurant upon arrival. Great food ! Comfortable accommodations! Within walking distance to many attractions ! A great place for the price !

The room was nice, but we would have prefered a king-size bed. All we could get was two double beds. We like the roominess of a king. The tv was good, but the channel selection would revert to a small part of what was available, and there were no directions to fix this. I had to figure it out for myself. I had stayed at this hotel for work, a number of years ago. We had returned a few years later, and enjoyed the stay. I picked tihs hotel primarily for the location. It is directly across from the Gerald Ford Museum, and just across the river from downtown Grand Rapids. There is much to do there. Also, it is right next to the freeway, and very easy to get on and off, so trips to the surrounding area are very easy to accomplish.

We stayed at the Grand Rapids Downtown Holiday Inn for two days and would recommend a stay. The hotel is centrally located and a close walk from breweries and downtown restaurants. The rooms were clean and the entire staff, including the hotel manager, was very friendly and gave us great recommendations. I would definitively stay here again.

The Holiday Inn in downtown Grand Rapids is a great location for visitors looking for a hotel within walking distance of museums, good restuarants and cultural attractions. It is also very close to the highway interchange, which makes it easy to access. The rooms are clean and newer, although a little small for a family of 2 adults and one child. The bathrooms could have used hooks or other means to hang wet bathing suits. We had breakfast at the hotel restaurant. The menu had a large selection and the food was good. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would return.

The Holiday Inn is located in a great location easy access to the high way and still within walking distance to all the venues. The staff was very friendly and informative. I would definitely visit this Holiday Inn again and recommend to family and friends staying overnight in the Grand Rapids area.

The was nice and the price was great for the room and services received. The hotel is also in an ideal location downtown.

The whole staff was very courteous at all times. They acted like they really wanted to provide quality service. The food at the hotel restaurant was very good and not over priced. Plus my kids were able to eat free. My children especially enjoyed the pool. The pool started out at 3ft. This was perfect for my 7 yr old. Good location. I would defiantly recommend it for the family.

I end up in Grand Rapids for work and always choose to stay here. It is in a great location, there are many bars and restaurants in the area and plenty of things to do around the hotel. I have recommended this hotel to others and they have enjoyed their stays just as much as I have.

Always wanted to stay downtown for the Festival of Arts. Booked this room for Friday and Saturday night. It was a short walk to all the festivities and we had a great time. Room was always clean and staff was very friendly. Great weekend.

For the price, this is the best hotel in Grand Rapids. Staff is friendly, rooms are clean and updated, and rooms are $100 less than the JW or Amway (at least). Convenient walk to downtown.

The room seemed a little narrow but I believe I was place in the room with an exterior closet cut into it, just off the entry door. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.
