Prescott Hotel, a Kimpton Hotel - سان فرانسيسكو

The staff at the hotel couldn't have been nicer or more attentive. The decor and architecture were charming; like an old world hotel. However, we booked a king bed and stayed on an undersized queen. We did not sleep well at all. It was quite warm, too, even though we turned down the cooling system. We enjoyed the special afternoon appetizers and wine and breakfast touches as well. I used the fitness center on the 8th floor which was adequate for my needs. If it were less expensive, I would stay there again. It is in the perfect location at Union square, too.

the staff at the Prescott were friendly, and helpful. we walked absolutely everywhere from the hotel - great boutiques.. great restaurants.. we even walked to the wharf and over to market street.. The robes were a riot. and the room was comfortable..we booked a little suite -

Very quiet, comfortable easy night sleep. Staff were very friendly and attentive. I'd definitely stay here for future trips.

I've stayed at many Kimpton Hotels, Monaco,and such. One of the reasons is the wonderful wine hour with music and painting. That was why we chose this hotel. When we arrived for the hour, there was no music, no paintintg, no ambiance, and terrible wine! We did hear other patrons making similar observations. I suggest if this is an added service for your guests, try to make it a memorable one. The Hotel and staff were very nice. Thank you.

Service nice & friendly, Postrio restaurant outstanding, good size room, great location. Only complaints were that the room smelled strong like cleaning products, the trim details in the room were a bit worn. Note that this hotel is in an older building but nicely refurbished but maintains the old staircases and banisters, narrow hallways,etc. Not for someone expecting new & modern feel.

quaint boutique hotel close to union square. clean, neat and tidy. room fairly small but all amenities included.

We stayed 5 nights at the club level of this hotel. Complimetary wine and drinks for club level guests is a treat. For the club level guests a continental breakfast is included. In America a continental breakfast is pastrys, jam, soft cheese, bread, juice and coffee. On the continent this would almost always include 2-3 different cold cuts. Those were missed. The building was somewhat strange. The club level was accessed by taking an elevator to the fourth floor and the walking over a ramp to an adjacent building where another elevator awaits. Not a problem for me, but maybe something to take in mind if you are having problems moving about. Overall I was pleased with my stay and at the price point it was ok. A friend of mine stayed at the parc 55 wyndheim for the same rate and I believe this to be the better offer if available

The hotel is very nicely located in the center of SF with easy access via tram to other parts of the city. The breakfast room is magnificen, art deco, a very good breakfast. Staff is very very friendly. Overall it's a good hotel but I probably expected a lit more luxury for a 4*, it's getting a bid old and rooms are small.

Kimpton really lives up to their name. Amazing how much better of an experience you get when you shell out just $15-20 for another star rating up. It really does make it worth it. This is a more intimate property that gives you more privacy while maintaining all the sophisticated amenities you would want like Wifi, Flat Panel TVs, Room Service, et al. The staff was very gracious with checkin and checkout and were all extremely pleasant.

We had 11 of our 12 high school classmates stay at The Prescott Hotel. Our 12th lives in San Francisco. A couple of evenings we gathered in the lobby and never left the hotel. We even celebrated a birthday and the staff brought plates, forks and napkins. We laughed alot and they were very nice and accodmodating. The Hotel turned out perfect for our group. Surprized to see several people with their pets, which we enjoyed, and the staff seemed very accomodating to those with pets, too. Would recommend and stay there again. Some folks in our group did say the noise from the street woke them early, but we had a room on the 6th floor and didn't experience any street noise.

The Prescott Hotel was a really nice place to stay. We were heading into San Francisco for 2 days and just 1 night. This place afforded us a beautiful room right in the middle of it all. The complimentary wine reception and morning coffee bar was an added bonus.

Valet Parking was too exspensive...

They could be more generous with their continental breakfast

This is an older, well maintained hotel. As a single, female traveller I found the following features worked very well for me: easy to use free boarding pass printer in lounge area, comp glass of wine in the afternoon between 4 and 6, walking distance to BART Line on Market (about 4 blocks) so that I could take train to the airport, a quick walk away from Union Square for shopping, freee wifi access through the hotel site. My quiet room was up on the 6th floor facing a light well, no view but a window that opened for fresh air. Nice toilettries in the bathroom.

The Prescott is a fine hotel located very close to Union Square. Staff was very attentive and accommodating. Parking is an issue (valet only as far as I could tell). Restaurant breakfast was unremarkable. Rooms look out into other buildings, had to keep the blinds closed. Good shower and bed.

This hotel was a great experience for a 3 day weekend trip to San Francisco. Close to a BART station for airport transport, close to great shopping and restaurants. Museum of Modern Art within walking distance, too. Hotel personnel were warm, welcoming people from the doormen, front desk, conceirge, and waiters/waitresses. Breakfast was excellent, both food and ambience. Size of room was adequate, although the mattress could have been upgraded. All in all, I would recommend this 4 star hotel.

The service was great. The location was perfect. The only thing we did not like was having to go in one elevator, traverse a short distance on the 4th floor and then get on another elevator for the "club" side and then up to our room on the 7th floor. 2 elevators was a little tiresome after a while. Another advertising annoyance: the picture of the Prescott online looks like this grand entrance and opening into a large lobby. The entrance is small and looks nothing like the pictures on lines. But, all in all, it was a good experience and we enjoyed the hotel.

I thought this would be a very nice hotel, but the room ended up looking kind of like a generic chain hotel- and the heating in the room did not work. I called about it and they told me that the heat in the hotel was a bit "tricky"-- it kept blowing cold air so I finally gave up. San Francisco gets cold so I was not happy having to keep my coat on in my room. It's not very conveniently located and there is no coffee maker in the room. I asked about this and they did bring up a coffee maker but I discovered the next morning that it was all decaf. I wouldn't recommend this one, sorry.

The hotel is conveniently located just a couple of blocks west of Union Square. The staff were freindly and informative without being fawning. Daily wine tasting was appreciated, and there was complimentary coffee off the lobby in the morning but make sure you don't arrive towards the end. Our room was comfortable and clean and the bathroom was noticeably larger than most. I really couldn't find fault with anything but I found merit in many aspects. I'd return, and I did like that the hotel management actually reads customers' reviews as that indicates they want to fix anything that's not quite right.

The hotel was downtown in a nice location. Upon arriving they offer vallet parking at $44 per night with in out privileges which is not a horrible price but the next street on the right has a garage almost immediately on the right that has better rates, valet and in out privaleges. The hotel and room were very nice although a bit dusty. The service was excellent they helped us find the spots we were looking for and getting anything else we needed. We did not go to the free wine hour or eat at there place but the prices were about the same as most places in the area. Overall I would stay here and recommend it.

There are many hotels in the immediate area but this one is at a good price point. It is a better value than the nearbly JW and more intimate. While older, it is well kept and one block west of Union Square park. Beds are quite comfortable and bathrooms well apointed and spacious. While the floor above me creaked a bit, overall it was very quiet - no slamming doors. I had free internet and continental breakfast. Dinner at the restaurant was very good. It is a hike to the convention center (8 blocks) and you don't want to go/stay west from the hotel into the tenderloin district as its gets real bad real quick! Wine reception each day was nice. The club level has free hor'devours (cheeses and pizza) as well. For a hotel closer to the Moscone Convention Center (more $$$) check out the Marriott or the Palace (with a great sushi restaurant). For a cheaper hotel in the Union Square area try the Hotel Beresford (or Bereseford Arms) and for more luxury try the Parc 55. The highly rated Chancellor Hotel is another good one in comparable price range. Note that hotels on Powell are going to be noiser with the cable car, bums, etc. and strikes outside some hotels are common so check the reviews.

We stayed here for an evening, and the experience my wife and I had was terrible. The room was super small and the only thing that was good in the room were the curtains. The view out the window overlooked a dark shady ally. I regret staying here. The next day we moved to a beautiful hotel next to the Union Square. It was called Villa Florence and we had a great time there. The hotel staff were great and the Italian restaurant adjoining the hotel was fabulous. If you are looking for a place to stay in SF downtown, Villa Florence is the place. Don't stay in the crappy hotel. Also, the hotel only has vallet parking and they charge $45 for 1 night of parking.

Decent hotel, good and friendly service. Close to shopping malls and Union square and BART. Hop on/off stop next to them. Abundant restaurant in the AREA.

Comfortable and super convenient location. Good match of price, comfort, location and service. Staff was very responsive and helpful. Nice value and we will go back for sure.
