Bedford Hotel & Congress Centre - بروكسل

Travel a lot, but would not stay there again. Lobby looks nice, then you go to the rooms. We had NO ceiling, phone did not work, key hard to use ,and heat was not working. When asked to changed they were not happy. But at least we got a new room with a ceiling although hallway outside door had no ceiling. They did have a good breakfast buffet.

The Bedford is a distinctly old-fashioned hotel on Rue de Midi in Brussels. Its position is really excellent, in relation to Grand Place and the other town centre attractions. I stayed first at the Bedford in 1997, and I don't think they have done any upgrading or modernisation since. This gives the hotel a distinctly old-fashioned air. Our room was comfortable, but - again - in need of extensive refurbishment and a deep clean to meet contemporary standards. I WOULD stay there again, though - breakfasts are reasonable, the comfort level is satisfactory and the location is excellent.

we had a great stay at the bedford,staff were great, great location, very central, it's one of the best hotels' we have stayed in in brussels, the room was great, & the breakfast was very good, hot or cold, there was bacon, boiled eggs, scrambeld eggs as well as your continetal style, it was a fab breakfast !!! we are staying here again in june. we have stayed in other hotels in brussels, but this one come's tops, there are bars & shops by the hotel, which was good, its waking distance to the grand place about 5 mins, its perfect , the staff are very helpful & the hotel is very clean, loved it !!!.

I am a regular customer. That means that I am generally satisfied. I miss a full refrigirator in my room, since room service for food is limited to only certain hours.

Hotel Bedford is close to the train station, grand place, the "p" statue, restaurants and bars. The hotel lobby and breakfast area are nice. I stayed in room 220, the carpet was worn through, the beds were crazy soft (not firm), the heating unit must have been broken because there was a space heater in the corner of the room, and the TV was a tube type with missing buttons. There is no way I could have brought my girl friend to this hotel, we would have had to find another hotel.

Dont stay here, breakfast poor, rooms outdated with frayed sheets, hotel room not serviced one day, room that we booked wasn t kept for our arrival, tried to offer apartment that was damp and smelly, which we did nt accept.

This hotel is like a dignified dowager, old-fashioned maybe but charming and friendly. A special word of praise for the staff who are amongst the friendliest I have encountered in a hotel of this quality! The location is not as prestigious as it once was (the Three Boulevards have lost some of their lustre in the last 20 years) but the quietness of the area compensates.

If threadbare carpets and worn out mattresses are what you're looking for in a four star hotel, then stay at the Bedford.

Close to centre but if on business you will need to walk for nearest metro. Hotel is labelled as four stars but is not four stars. There is refurbishing going on. Very few 4 star amenities. Wireless only in lobby.

This is a terrible hotel. How is it marketed as 4 star?! 2 at best... What a joke, a waste of time and money. Go and/or stay in Brugge, Ghent or Antwerp. Plenty of wonderful hotels in more interesting and safer cities.

The rooms need desperately renovation. The wall to wall carpet in my room on 3rd floor was disgusting. It had so many stains and so worn out that I wonder they still sell these rooms out. Can't even think of walking there with no shoes on. Also the ugly giant size blue leather armchairs were so unattractive that one would never touch them. I suggest the management to pay visits to the rooms and and consider whether they would like to stay in rooms like that. Also the stained cigarertte smell doesn't really meet the requirements of a non-smoking room! The hotel advertises itself as 4-star hotel. At least 2 of the stars should be dropped!

This is a misleading hotel. A grandiose entrance disguises dreadful rooms. I was attracted to the hotel by the fitness centre and wifi access. The former was one of the worst hotel type fitness rooms, with no cardiovascular machines. The wifi access was erratic at best. My room smelled dreadful and there was no proper heating. Definitely one to avoid.

I went back to the Bedford in December for the first time in 14 years, and I was pleasantly surprised. The Bedford's position is excellent, within easy walking distance of Grande Place and the other central Brussels attractions. I would describe the Bedford as a good mid-range hotel. Our room was comfortable and quiet, and parking is available adjacent to the Hotel. Breakfast was good - if busy. One "area of improvement" would be to provide "tea or coffee Making Facilities" in the rooms. As we drive there, we will be bringing our own kettle, etc. next time. We have already arranged to return at Easter!

With a little bit of effort this could be turned into a 5 star hotel. The lobby, D.R. etc is great. The carpet throughout needs to be cleaned and or replaced. The mattress was very uncomfortable, the pillows even worse. The only thing great is the location.

good location, nice appearance but rooms run down. Breakfast good variety but very busy. We unfortunately were disturbed by other guests having a party until 3am the staff did deal with the situation when asked. A nice enough hotel. Hot shower, clean, comfy bed, good location, and great breakfast.

Very well located hotel in the heart of Brussels. Minutes from Grande Place etc. A number of very friendly and professional staff. All round good, basic hotel.

Bedford is not for casual travellers - leave it for coach groups, conferences and the military who stand smoking outside. I had paid for a twin bed - they gave me a single. The TV didn't work, and was not replaced after I complained. The heating didn't turn on. The door lock perpetually didn't work - I changed 4 cards until I learned the handle needed adjusting. The lobby staff, sometimes 'at lunch', were indifferent to helping a fellow resident who needed a screw-driver. A high price for a poor room

The hotel is ranked 4 stars but it is barely a 3 stars hotel. Probably it was a decent hotel 30 years ago, but since then it was never renovated. The room was small, old, with different pieces of furniture and with an old bad mattress (I asked them to change it but they told me they did not have better mattress, so they put a board under the mattress to support it). The hallway was dirty and full of dust. The only good think is the location, but the hotel does not worth the price.

Stayed one night at Bedford Hotel. The hotel would benefit from renovation. Room was shaggy with worn carpets and tobacco burns here and there. It was difficult to get right temperature water from the shower. The air in the room felt stale and it was not possible to open the window. Location and breakfast OK. Relatively cheap but can't recommmend.

The lobby area is very attractive, and the location of the hotel very convenient to sightseeing. Before I move on with the rest of my review, I must say that I have stayed at many European hotels in rooms that are old, small, with twin beds, and am not a really picking person as long as the room is clean, quiet and the bed can be slept in without crippling me. This is the first time I have given a negative review to any hotel I have booked on-line after looking at the websites and photos, thinking I had a good feel for the quality of the hotel. I was first given a room (103) down a hall with no ceiling, just exposed wires and duct. The room did not look at all like the photos of the "double" rooms on the website, it was small and crammed with too much furniture making it difficult to move around. The bed in the room sagged in the middle with the foot being about 10 inches higher than the head. I had just had back surgery a few months previously so I went to the desk to ask for a different room, I was told ALL the beds in the hotel were like this (they were remodeling, which was not disclosed during booking or on their website) and that they didn't have any other rooms available, so they put a board under the head of the mattress, which didn't work, I then needed to ask for the wi-fi password, the phone didn't work so I went back down, they sent someone up, couldn't fix the phone. Next I could hear the person in the next room clearing his voice and humming as if he was in my room, the worse part, I could hear everything that went on in his bathroom. I went back down, asked if they had a "sister hotel" since they had said they had no other rooms available, they said no, I told them I would pay more if I could just have a better room, then I was given room 214, a "business suite". (amazing, since I had been told they were fully booked) but the room It was clean, mattress was still old but not as sagging, and I could not hear other guests. Some of the help was kind, som

This hotel needs its stars removed. It is simply the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The room although expensive and a triple room, was dirty, with stained carpets and decoration from the 1980's. All of the furniture was damaged and scratched and the bed was so worn out that it was impossible to sleep on. The pillows were disgusting not something you would want to put your head on. The plumbing from other rooms ran through the bathroom in the room so you could hear the activity of other bathrooms. The walls were paper thin again you could hear every word. I complained to staff and asked for a room change and they were less than helpful and just said that all rooms were the same and the hotel needed investment. I went back a second time and this time they seemed to find it quite amusing that I was disgusted with what I had been given. Although I booked for 2 nights, I left the next day, and again the staff were not apologetic in any way and were amused that I had left. Please do not give one euro to this hotel as they make zero effort in every direction. Disgusting, dirty, old, and with an attitude from staff I have never seen. DO NOT STAY HERE,

This hotel is in an awesome location, about halfway between the Brussels Central and Brussels Midi train stations. It's near a very touristy area with great restaurants. The hotel however is a bit outdated. The room was small but clean. Two twin beds were used instead of a queen... not ideal if traveling with your significant other.

My sister and I loved this hotel! Right next to everything in the city centre, we easily walked everywhere. The staff were incredibly nice and helpful. Our room was very nice and clean, very comfortable. The included breakfast was also great, it had everything, and the staff working there in the mornings were lovely. Even after just one or two mornings they remembered us and were always friendly. I would definitely stay there again the next time I visit Belgium!

Unfortunatly the air con was broken. We only ever book a hotel if it has air con so this was disappointing, there seemed no attempt to fix it either over our 5 days stay. The bed was the most uncomfortsble we had ever slept in, the pillows are ridiculously small and uncomfortable. The bathroom was tatty and has mould around taps and handles, also the ceiling was just horrible. The bar staff and reception staff lovely and very helpful. The breakfast staff were surly and miserable. Great location but tired hotel needs updating.

This hotel is in a good location, close to tourist attractions. The reception is warm and welcoming, however it does not reflect what awaits one, once in the rooms. The rooms clearly need refurbishment, carpets are badly worn and dirty, furniture torn and dirty. Room has a fridge (empty) - no minibar. A noisy hotel, you hear when the room above you has a toilet flushed. Reception at times seemed to be under staffed, long queues. Breakfast is rather limited.

The location was decent for the attraction and the hotel staff was very helpful in helping you navigate the area. The room was somewhat unbearable at times. Not sure how you dont have a/c in the rooms when the weather is so hot. Or how when you ask for two beds, you double small beds together for a king size. Not very accountable for a room for more than two.

This place has a great location within wailing distance of all the sightseeing destinations. Very tiny rooms but that seems tp be the norm in all of Europe. Very comfy bed with nice bedding.Very clean. The worst internet,unusable in rooms and the computers set up for customer use were relics and not much better. Nice breakfast provided.

This hotels lobby is very high end but that is the only part of the hotel that is. The rooms are clean but shabby and the breakfast is basic but decent. No air conditioning and with construction going on right outside the room at seven AM it made for a short night. The location is excellent as you can walk just about anywhere. I would recommend this but it is not a four star hotel.

Great location for walking to/from so much. Reasonably priced with the bonus of free wi-fi and full breakfast each morning. Bed left something to be desired, but for 3-days it was doable.

The hotel needs a revamp since the decor is old and tired looking. The breakfast was fine, but I felt real lonely having a beer in the overbright bar the previous evening, since I was outnumbered by the two staff in the place. The seats in the bar were splendidly uncomfortable. On arrival, the temperature in the bedroom was far too hot (felt like around 30 degrees) and I never found the light switch to some of the bedroom lights (ended up powering off the whole room to turn them off). When checking in at the right hand side of the checkin desk, the guy behind the counter greeted me in a friendly way, then suddenly stopped before he could say any more, looked surprised, then walked over to the guest queuing on the far left of the checkin desk, said the same big hi to him and just left me standing there, booking docs + passport in hand. Weird. Felt I'd just arrived in Fawlty Towers. On the plus side, the location is good and it's just a few minutes walk from the central train station.

The reception desk people were very friendly. The room is old, but the bathromm is new. Breakfast was just fair, no vegtables or fruits served. In general, its a very pleasent hotel. The distance from Grand Place is less than 10 minutes walk. The conference rooms are modern and well equiped.

The rooms were not welm maintained. The lady receptionist needs a course in customer interaction.

located in a slum area, not a four star, general area maintained but old fashioned, but room had a bed smaller than single, painted metal furniture, nonworking fridge, poor decor, no toiletries except generic soap, ok place to stay but not a 4 star, overall hotel offers many services but the reality is the rooms are poor.

The hotel is old and runned down with exceptional small rooms. However, what is worse is that smell...old, dust, dampen air which gives you an immediate sensation that the carpet, walls have not been cleaned/aired out for a very long time. The rooms are very noice sensitive so you can hear whenever someone is in the bathroom along the corridor and the overall impression was not exactly helped by the street noice either. So...DONT GO....

We realy enjoyed everything about the hotel. The location was perfect . The food at breakfast was plentiful and realy enjoyable.The hotel was spotlessly clean.The staff were very helpfull when we looked for information on where to visit. I have already recommended the hotel and the city to people. We hope to visit Brussels in the future and we will certainly look to stay at the Bedford

This hotel I would not recommend. To start with, there was no air conditioning in any of the rooms. We were lucky that the windows opened and we were on a center court yard for little noise. The room was suppose to have a fridge, which it did, but it was non-operational. Ask the desk about this and they said all the hotels fridges didn't work. The room was quite small, even for European room standard. Could not walk around the bed. The staff were not very helpfull either. I will say that it is very convienient to the old town area and made geting around nice. The breakfast was very nice. There are other hotels in the area that are nicer and more modern for the price you pay for this hotel. All in all, I would recommend staying somewhere else

This hotel is walking distance from the beautiful Grand Place, helpful staff and tours available at the front desk. The condition of the hotel is very outdated. This is not a four-star hotel. My fridge didn't even work! This hotel is a three-star at best.
