Minto Suite Hotel - أوتاوا

This was my first time ever in Ottawa & I wasn't very happy at all with the customer service. When we arrived, we had a late check in and were supposed to have a late check out. Now I don't know what sorts of polices this hotel has for customer service but they do not have very good customer service at all. The front desk was always so quick to blame soneone else for their own mistakes. I asked for a 24 hr wallmart, I was sent across town to one that was closed at 12am then they didn't even apologize and blamed their "system" it's was a HUGE inconvienence since it was 4am and I drove 5 hours to get there and I came straight from work. Then there was underground parking that water system was down the entire weekend and it made it a huge inconvienence to get in and out they had to reprogram my parking pass 4 times & still never worked then only discounted 1/2 of the parking rate and blamed the ppl who run the parking garage.... Mind you it was a software problem within the hotel. oh and there were no working remotes in our hotel either. Things that I would think people would check... there was also no maid service until after we left. maybe this was a turn of unfortunate events but I am a strong believer in customer service since I work in the industry, this hotel had none. I don't know why they are even considered a 4 star.

Minto Suite in Ottawa is centrally located and has all amenities needed. The rooms (suite) are vey spacious and service is good..

No internet, and when there are 4 people booking a room, I shouldn't have to order 2 sets of towels, or the pillows for the pullout couch.

Pros: - Nice and spacious suite - Washrooms were clean and properly prepared - Comfortable beds - Staff was very courteous, and allowed us checking in a couple of hours earlier (thanks) - Parking was very easy - Overall, it was a great experience and I would recommend it to family/friends and would select this hotel if happen to be in this area. Cons: -A little off from the main attractions but not very far so its not a huge minus. Its around 20-30 mins walk from areas like Parliament Hill, Byward Market, Convention Center - Though washrooms were very clean and well prepared, the fittings+switches were showing signs of age and it would be great if they could be changed now. - There should be more signs for the elevators, the parking elevator was separate from the main elevators and we had a tough time finding one while getting off from the other.

I've stayed at the Minto several times and It's one of my favourite places to stay in Ottawa. Just double check that you didn't get a handicap room. The room itself is fine, but the shower head is only 3 feet high. They should have asked before putting me in this room.

Have been to Ottaw many times. We are a family with 3 children. The comfort, space and good cost of the 2Br suite gave us all room. Took a few food items with us so having that kept some balance for the diet. Great pool, great location to walk anywhere downtown, will be back there for my next stay.

I am always impressed by the cleanliness of all the rooms we have stayed in. I like how each room is decorated and cared for, makes me feel special when I stay at your hotel. The only difficulty is checking in as there is limited parking spaces. We recommend this hotel often to friends when they visit Ottawa. It is indeed an excellent hotel!!

This hotel is great for families, because they have suites that are basically one bedroom condos. You get a full kitchen (with dishes and dishwasher), washer/dryer, a table for four, a bedroom with 2 double beds, and a pullout couch in the living room. Location is great, pool, sauna, and whirlpool great, Prime 360 restaurant downstairs cooks beef to perfection. The hotel is also connected to handy in-out underground parking for a nominal fee, and a small shopping complex with a post office, wine shop, pharmacy, and a small 24-hour grocery store. Nice. Downsides: room service food is terrible, do not bother ordering it, and, in this day and age, the 21st century, they still make you pay for wi-fi. $11 a day, or $3 (I think) for an hour. For that price, I say include it in the room rate, and then advertise as "free wi-fi". Honestly, it's ridiculous - people use the web to check if tourist sites are open, where to eat, where to go. I went to Ottawa for New Year's and trust me, knowing if sites and eateries were open was a big deal. I had to use the data minutes on my smartphone, and it would have been a lot easier if I could just check on my laptop. Minto Suites, the lack of wi-fi makes your business look cheap. You give me a washer/dryer, dishwasher, and no wi-fi? This is the only reason I would hesitate to recommend it. Too bad, because everything else is great. But if wi-fi doesn't matter to you, highly recommended, because there's nothing else wrong with the place (besides the yucky room service food).

Friendly staff, big and confortable room with handy kitchenette. Very nice swimming pool with sauna and jacuzzi. 15 min. walk from the bus station. 10 min away from Parliament Hill. The best hotel I have ever been so far !

We reserved a 2 bedroom suite with a full kitchen; the hotel tried to give us a room with a microwave. My brother reserved a one bedroom suite but did not get the suite as reserved. We were suppose to have two suites on the same floor, that is why we reserved far in advance and were assured after speaking to management that they would be available. We ended up with two suites 3 floors apart. Why two suites? Two families from out of town celebrating Christmas with our elder parents whose home is not large enough to accommodate many guests. Anyway, we managed. A Christmas we will not forget.

walkable distance from all major attractiona.,good value for money for the size of the rooms and amenities and service. Hygiene in rooms is very good. Will definitely stay at the same place when returning to Ottawa.

Absolutely AWESOME!!! The service was beyond accomodating and looked after any need that we had!! Will stay again when in the Ottawa area!!! Thank-you, to the staff at "The Minto Suites"

stayed at the minto for 2 nights, service was great, room was great, its in a good location in the downtown area, when we go back to ottawa i would stay there again

I had a great time at the hotel with the girls. i had bought a night for my daughters birthday party, the girls had a blast, they loved the swimming and loved the room. i loved the size of the room and the view, it was an excellent night. i will do it again when money is good and more deals come up,

The hotel was full and the front deak was able to put us on a floor without alot of noise and activity. They did this without any request. Well done.

I was totally pleased with my one bedroom with kitchen suite competitively priced, close to all services, well maintained and updated. I was attending a conference at a hotel a block away and was happy to be able to escape to the peace and quiet of the Minto.

Will plan to stay there again when in downtown Ottawa. Can make your own food in your suite. Even has balconies for fresh air.

The small kitchen comes in handy when you need to cook or warm up food. The location is great and so is the fitness center. Great price for services. The only mishap is make sure to understand how the internet payment works as it was charge to my credit card and my room bill so for 3 days I paid for 5 wireless connections and was only credited once even though they promised to credit 2.

Only stay one night, very large apartment hotel, great value, recommended.

we stayed at the minto hotel from november 4th to 6th, 2011, and the stay was excellent. we got a good deal via hotels.ca (without the deal we probably wouldn't have been able to afford staying here) and were extremely happy with the hotel. the building is not new, but it has clearly been renovated. the room (we stayed in a one bedroom suite) was large and comfortable and the service was great. the only thing that i could bring up as a negative is that the rooms have a distinct 'hotel smell' - not mold or anything nasty, but noticeable. i am personally allergic to a lot of different things (mold, feathers, etc.) but i had no problems with the air in the hotel. all in all, an excellent hotel, especially if you can get a deal via a website such as hotels.ca.

I think this is the finest hotel I have stayed in, I like that it had a connecting convenience store, and other stores, food court and a conference place, I would definately stay again, also that it had indoor parking especially for big vehicles.

My wife and I stayed at the Minto last weekend for a weekend getaway. For the price, we thought the Minto was great. We had the least expensive suite, but it was still spacious and comfortable. After walking around Ottawa for hours, we loved coming back to our little "apartment" to relax! The bathroom was large and we had a little kitchenette. There was a small table with two chairs and a mini "living room" (couch & chair). The queen bed was comfortable. For weekend travelers, be aware that this is in a corporate/government area and that you will have to walk a little to get to tourist destinations - but nothing is very far. After parking our car under the hotel on Friday afternoon (very inexpensive to park), we didn't take it out of the garage until we left on Sunday afternoon. Byward Market, National Gallery, and Musée de la civilisation are about a mile. Parliament Hill is less, The Glebe is more. But all very walkable. The hotel offers free bikes for day trips.

The hotel was spacious, modern and clean. We were in town for an number of engagements. I only wish I could have spent more time just enjoying the suite.

Everything was great but a little pricey

I arrived at the Hotel the same time a bus arrived and had to wait 15 minutes to get up to my room. The TV didn't work in my main room but I was to tired to worry about it. The big thing was I asked for a wake up call as my cell phone was about to die and they never called. Thank goodness I woke up. They did take the parking off my bill. I am not sure i would stay again other then having a seperate bed was nice. Also they may have done more but since I booked through Hotels.com they couldn't!

Hotel was very nice, however the Prime 360 is not.

Travelling with a young family is always an adventure (we have a 2 and a 4 year old), but the Minto Suites anticipated our every need! We arrived late at night (so the kids were awoken from their sleep prematurely) and the staff presented them with buckets filled with crayons and colouring books--the kids were ecstatic! The room was very spacious and clean--and the kitchenette made preparing snacks super easy! The salt-water pool was also a big hit! For anyone travelling with a young family, we HIGHLY recommend the Minot Suites Ottawa!

I have to say that I have stayed at many hotels and the staff at this hotel were most definitely the friendliest and most helpful I have come across. They also have free bikes for use by guests which were great to go explore Ottawa`s fantastic bike trail system.

While the hotel location and facilities were very good, I was not impressed with the customer service of the majority of staff (with the exception of the porter or consierge who was excellent). For example, it took several attempts to to contact the hotel operator - phone continued to ring without being answered. This experience was not isolated to one day.

I travel frequently and these are the things I liked about this hotel: * Good location: Right downtown and walking distance to many attractions, restaurants and shopping centres. * Seperate bedroom: If you travel with small children they sleep while you relax in the livingroom * Dinette: You can buy your own food so you don't have to eat out all the time. * Washer/Dryer: Yes, I was suprised too. Do laundry on the road (buy your own soap though). * 1.5 Bathroom: The foyer powder room is handy. Full disclosure: I had to pay for parking and internet which is common at a downtown hotel and it was not unreasonable. I didn't check out the facilities (gym / pool) so if they are important to you I cannot vouch for them.

Very good location close to Parliment Hill and CBD. Nice pool and well laid out rooms . Like the private bathroom off the living room and two bathrooms. Also has room service and parking garage. Rooms are a little tired but adequate. Had to change room because the first suite smelled like cigarette smoke....like Europe need to stress a non smoking room.

We specifically requested two queen beds. At first we were given 3 double beds and then one king and one double. The front desk staff were curt and unfriendly. They said that they do not quarantee bookings from hotel.com when we tried to insist on the two bedroom (queen) suite. The paint in the main bathroom was peeling off the ceiling and mildew and/or mould was exposed! The kettle did not work but was replaced promptly by housekeeping. Overall, the suite was well used to the point of "dirty"!

When it comes to room and space to move around this hotel is fantastic. The carpet however have seen better days, the bathroom was not very clean ( found a huge hairball as soon as I entered the bathroom, and when I say hairball it actually looks like someone took the time to ball up a bunch of hair- pretty disgusting!) The hotel has potential, just needs some updating. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite which was very spacious and had its own washer and dryer. This hotel would work well for extended stays as there is a full sized, fully functioning kitchen where you can prepare your meals.
