Room: Clean Breakfast: Bread, Cereal, Yogurt, Cake, Coffee & Tea Location: just one block away from Milan Centrale station. Staff: Nice Overall: I like its location - very close to Train/Metro station. If you will travel to other Italian cities by train, this is your choice. Breakfast is the standard type like other hotels in Italy. WIFI is provided, but not very stable. Many restaurants can be found near the hotel.

Stayed here only because of the location right next to the train station so we could pick up a rental car the next morning. Good enough to stay for one night but we would never stay there again mainly because of the very rude front desk staff when we checked in which left a very negative impression. He was very rude and impatient as soon as we stepped into the lobby and clearly disgruntled (he spoke to guests in a very bad tone and he was mumbling what sounded like very negative remarks about a guest who could not understand Italian). The elevator was dingy and every time we got in we kept our fingers crossed that we don't plunge to basement or get stuck in it. The room was musty and out-of-date but overall clean. Same with the bathroom. Breakfast was just okay, all other hotels we stayed in Italy had better breakfast both quality of food and service. WiFi was weak but got the job done, except that we had to deal with the rude receptionist because he had not given us the password at the check-in time as he should have and when we called in later he forced us to go down stairs late night because "he could not give it to me over the phone and had to write it down" -- not true, it was pre-printed on paper and he could have just sent one up. Street outside is noisy day and night as expected from a down-town near a train station and bar across street. Walls are paper thin. The hotel ignored our request on the reservation for an inside (courtyard side) room!

hotel location can be easily found and right next to central station. Reception staff is not so welcome & friendly. There is free WiFi within the hotel room & lobby, remember to ask the staff to give you the login & password as they will not tell you if you don't ask. The hotel elevator is really tiny, if you have large luggage, you have to separate and deliver to rooms. Inside the room, the lighting is not bright enough, especially in the bathroom, water pressure is not high enough. And our room is right next to the staircase, so it was noisy in the early morning (housekeeping).

Hotel was fine for a night. Bed was average, room tiny and breakfast wasn't good at all. Lady at front desk was lovely however, and it's a great location for the train station. Fine for a night, but wouldn't want to stay for longer.

Me and my family (4 of us) checked into the hotel on 30/1/2011. We were given 2 rooms with a connecting door , very convenient for us and the rooms were just nice for us. We enjoyed our stay there.

I've dealt with 3 of the receptionist and generally they are rude. They could have been more courteous for our questions. During the check-in, they had to hold our passport for 30-40 minutes and did not explain why they had to take so long. We would like to understand that they are processing our check-in, but as guests anyone would feel uncomfortable someone holding our passport that long. The room looks a bit old and run down. The dim lighting of the room made things worse. Apart from the strategic location near Milan Centrale, there is no other reason for me to revisit here. With that price or slightly more, there are many other hotels in the area which I won't mind giving a try.

Believe or not you will lose things (such as blackberry) where you put openly on the table inside a locked room!

Good location near train station on a quiet street. Nice and clean place. Good breakfast, coffee superb. Polite staff.

Made the stay easy

All that we could ask for for the price. Location -- Metro and train station -- excellent.

Best hotel for convenience & price (for Milan) . Walking distance to Milan Centrale statione, Airport bus, Hop on Hop off tour bus and various moderate restaurants. Small rooms, but clean; OK for one or two nights; shower only.

The hotel was in a great location and easy to find, right by the train station, with easy access to the metro. The room was small and rather basic by American standards, with rather thin walls and basic decor. Still the price seemed good and the people at the front desk spoke enough english to be very helpful. Make sure to ask them for a city map. Breakfast was decent, with some ok restaurants nearby. Just remember, most rooms in italy are fairly small, and even though there is a/c, it never seems to get that cold (as in most of the hotels we encountered).

This hotel was very convenient as it was near the train station. I like the small breakfast buffet. Nothing fancy but good enough to have a stomach full :)

THE HOTEL IS FINE IN ALL ASPECT, EXCEPT INTERNET FACILITIES. IT IS VERY AWFULLY BAD. YOU GET CONNECTED FO ABOUT 3MINS , ONLY TO BE DISCONNECTED AGAIN ;THEN CONNECTED AGAIN FOR 5 MINS AND OFF IT GOES AGAIN. REALLY FRUSTRATING. THE MANAGEMENT DOES NOT HELP AT ALL.AS FAR SA THEY ARE CONCERNED, IT IS NOT THEIR PROBLEM. ITS A SHAME FOR A HOTEL WHERE OTHER THINGS ARE FINE.

The Hotel is located conveniently (near the main station). However, the staffs on duty were unfriendly.

Ideal location very close to train station. The breakfast was good, the shower was good, the bed was good and clean (albeiate a bit firm for my liking), and the reception area was surprisingly large and the concierge was helpful. Happy with my choice of hotel.

The Hotel Florida is very conveniently located in Milan with access to the main train station nearby. There are some good restaurants and the hotel staff were very attentive. I had a problem with the shower head in my room and the front desk had it repaired very promptly which was great. I would definitely recommend the hotel for its convenient location and the price was very reasonable. The rooms are a little small but then who stays in a hotel room for very long when you are in Milan?

Small room, but serves the purpose if you want a hotel convenient to the central railway station.

The hotel was suitable for a one-night stay just before we left the country. Clean, but not immaculate. Quite a bit of dust in some places of our room, plus, a faint smell of cigarettes lingered in our non-smoking room. We had to leave the hotel at 5 am (2 hours before breakfast was served), so we asked if we could get a prepared breakfast to go. This service was offered at ALL of the other 3-star hotels we stayed at during our 10-day trip except for at Hotel Florida. They would not acknowledge this request. While we weren't upset, this would have still been a nice service for them to offer. Unlike the other hotels we visited, Hotel Florida did not make an attempt to go out of their way and offer exceptional guest service. All in all, not a bad place to stay for a day or two, but certainly not the best.

Great location, but very noisy with gangs off young people hanging around out side. Breakfast was a wast off time

If you stay here, do ask for a room not on the street. Overall the room was average, but served our needs to be very close to the train station since we only stayed 1 night. The bed was comfortable but the rooms were small as are most rooms that are in older buildings. Good price, convenient location, but just average.

it is overall a nice hotel for the low price. the elevator is small, the beds are decent, the bedding is sketchy, the lobby is teeny tiny. i read a lot of reviews about the staff being rude, luckily didnt run into this problem at this hotel. but italy in general, service is not really key nor does it hold a candle to service you would receive in the states or in asia. it is literally steps away from the central station, which was convenient for us as we did lots of day trips. we literally just came to the hotel to sleep and shower and to put our suit cases down. if youre looking for comfort in any sense of the word, this place is not for you. it is more convenient than it is comfort.

There must be nicer places nearby. While the lobby was modern and the subterranean breakfast nook OK, the room and hallway were depressing. The bed too was not comfortable.

It was ok, not very clean and the window of are room kept opening. In a good location the train station and tubes for going to the centre x

The hotel was close to the main train station which was convenient to just walk over. The hotel felt more like a hostel than a hotel. Our room was not cleaned well. There was a used showed cap hanging in the bathroom and there was hair in the sink. Also the sink was clogged and water would accumulate. The breakfast was very basic and not much of a variety. If you wanted more, it was at an additional cost. If you are arriving by train and only need to stay there for one cheap night, then I would recommend it.

Close to the Central Station, close to good restaurants, free internet access, nice breakfast, nice room, at a low cost.

Hotel is quite good. Location is great (near the railway station), and this is the main plus. Breakfast is very poor, rooms are too small.

We would definitely stay at Hotel Florida again for the convenience to train, bus, and metro. The room was clean and comfortable by Italian standards. We were not able to have the breakfast because it did not open till 7:30 and we had to catch the Malpensa Express by 6:30. This trip to Italy the breakfasts at our hotels seemed to start on the late side, which was disappointing. We did not bring our own laptops and could not use the Wi-Fi, so also would have appreciated computer access with internet. Please beware of the extremely slippery tub and bathroom floor, which resulted in my having a very scary fall out of the shower.

Very close to Centrale. This is not, notably, where the Malpensa Express comes in, but an easy-enough Metro ride away. Centrale does appear to be the big train station for many other destinations (including Venice). Metro takes you to the Duomo and more central areas very quickly. Plenty of cheap and easy food along Via Vetruvio. Hotel is perfectly nice, bit spartan, but absolutely good for the money and location.

bed was soft. train and airport shuttle great location.

I found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful. When I needed help locating the hospital in which a friend was staying, they quickly tracked it down, printed out directions and a map, and told me where I would find a bus to take me there. The location of the hotel is so convenient for getting around Milan and points beyond. And there's a great restaurant right around the corner. This hotel and its staff helped make my stay in Milan a most enjoyable one.

We stayed in this hotel in September 2010 Very good locaton, very clean, comfortable room, good breakfast . Excellent value for the money. Canadians.

I have been to Europe enough times on a tight budget to know what to complain about and what is good for the area. What we might rate as a three or four star is a little different than what Europe might rate as a three or four star. That being said, I was quite pleased with our hotel. It was extreamly close to the main train station (only a block away) and the subway is convient so that you can get to the heart of the city. The nightborhood was typical of being close to a trainstation and might want to watch for beggers but still felt safe enough. It was quite as well with a cute window view of the courtyard. I would request definately not getting the street view.

Main issue is around the paper thin walls. You can hear everything from rooms around you; taps running , TV, converstaions. Hotel is just around the corner from the main railway station and Metro. You are four metro stops from the Doumo. Very convenient. The open top tour bus has a drop off stop near- by. Very convenient

We only stayed overnight and left. The neighboorhood was scary...this was one of many hotels we stayed in in Italy...so not afraid of most neighboorhoods. The AC barely worked, the beds not very comfy, If you only need a place close to train station to change trains...ok....but otherwise....wouldnt do this one again. One good thing...there was a Mailboxes etc next door...so it gave opportunity to ship home the over shopping we had accumulated.

Hotel Florida is great, except for one major point. If you are looking to get regular, unrestricted internet, you'll be disappointed. This hotel seems to block everything except port 80 (web), which means no email access (though gmail web access worked fine), no Steam, no Netflix or Hulu, etc. Personally, I was writing an exam for school that needed to be uploaded during my stay. Hotel Florida's 'content filter' blocked my upload. If you are staying at this hotel for the price and internet access, stay somewhere else or plan accordingly! Otherwise, the accommodations were fine.

Hotel had previous reviews regarding neighborhood and crime. As a police professional I saw nothing worse than any other city. I saw no dirty streets or drug activity. Other cities in Europe are much worse. Breakfast was a little skimpy, no meat or juice. Very close to central train station and restaurants. Even small grocery stores to buy your own food. Price was good compared to other locations. Caught tour bus localally. MXP air port bus was at train station. Easy on, easy off. I would recomend to others if traveling to Milan for a short stay.

The hotel was conveniently located to the train station which was why we chose it. The staff was courteous and efficient. Breakfast was good. The room was adequate. The only reason I would not recommend this hotel is that you can do better for the price.
