The temperature control in the room was not working, I get frustrated when it impacts the qulaity of my sleep. The front desk staff need to smile more - they seem like they are going through the motions more than wanting to genuinely help.

Hotel needs to be updated soon. Mattresses are well over due to be changed. It was a good experience we will return. Pet friendly is a must for us. Thanks

It's a little out of the way from downtown Ottawa. I was heading to Kanata so it suited me since hotels there were booked. Nice, modern and clean. Nice swimming pool. Lots of families.The price was right too. I would stay there again.

The first night was great, so we went again in the morning to the pool/slide. The lifeguards were really good. Unfortunately we arrived back in the evening to have paramedics tell us that there was a chlorine issue in the pool and kids had rashed and trouble breathing. Both my kids had showers after being in the pool and one ended up having a rash on both legs and the other had an allergic reaction and had to take benedryl for 2 days. Would not go back...

We always book a hotel with a pool for the kids. We had a room that opened up to a pool that we could NOT use because the hours 6-10 at night. The desk clerk said the hotel does not cater to kids during the week and yet the hotel was full of kids everywhere. The pool hours should be prominently communicated on the website so we don't find out after we get there. We asked for a cot and were told it is a fire hazard despite us using cots all the time in other hotels. It is awkward to ask a kid to share a bed with their grandfather. We ended up getting a second room. We will be warning our friends about the lack of accommodating features of the Travelodge in Ottawa. It was a completely unpleasant experience.

We were on the side over looking the garden. We didn't hear the pool or slide running. Our children loved it and so did we. The wave pool and slide was open late, and was clean. Only downfall for the pool was that there was no washrooms in that location it was located by the front desk. The hotel wasn't far from tim hortons, swiss chalet and dominoes was within a block. Difficulty getting there by car as the hotel is located on a one way road. we had to go around the block to get onto the 417 or to drive west on carling.

The first thing I noticed in my room was that I didn't have a fitted sheet on my bed. There were 2 flat sheets, and I could see the mattress. It must be at least 20 years old, worn, dirty, and sagging. The mattress cover was filthy. On the upside, the bathroom was recently renovated and clean, with warm floors. I didn't try the breakfast or the pool, but the dinner at the restaurant was good.

This hotel is an excellent example of "good enough". Our room was perfectly clean, with a newer mattress. However, the decor was outdated including a smallish tube TV and a finicky air conditioning/heating unit. Several of the amenities in our hall were out of service (ice machine, etc) but staff was very friendly and helpful to point out other locations. They sensed that we were a quieter couple, so placed us at the end of a hallway where there were few disruptions. However, generally the hotel is pretty busy because of the conference center. It is conveniently located right next to the highway. Short drive into downtown Ottawa and to the Scotiabank Arena (where we were headed). However, the immediate neighborhood was less than stellar. It seemed perfectly safe, but very much "edge of town" with only strip-malls and such nearby. This will do the job if you're seeking something at a slight discount that is "good enough."

The huge wave pool and water slide made this a great hotel for children; ours were 7 and 12. We weren't able to get the room to be as cool as we would have liked. There was a need for more dollies on which to carry luggage, and have a dollie that would permit one to hang up items.

Had difficullty with controlling the heat and when adjusting to cold the fan was very noisy. Did not have the greatest sleep. Also would be nice to have several tea bags in the room as well for those who do not drink coffee.

I slept ON the blankets because they looked so worn. The room smelled of smoke too. I was told breakfast was from 8 until 11 only to get told at 10:15 that it had ended at 10.

Stayed here before good place no extra frills but clean and comfortable

The hotel is too old. I think they should need to upgrade. For example the carpet in the hallway and many more.

Okay hotel. It was a bit noisy but there was a school trip with lots of kids running up and down the hallways.

Nice place to take the kids for a little get away A little run down and if you want to eat you have to drive not much close by

I was disgusted with the service at the front desk and the lack of focus and how poorly the so called computer crashed devasted the quality of service. Let alone the fact that no one acknowledged you or made any attempt to show they cared. Needless to say the room was okay. I spoke to the manager and she advised me they pride themselves on their service. Looks like pride does not mean much to me. In fact I asked to speak to the manager when I finally got checked in but only in the morning did I speak to her and only after I requested to again. Surprise it took ten minutes to have a manager come and speak to me. I did not ask for any rebate or return I just ask them to get better at it. Oh well we talk with our feet and I am not going back. I hope they get better at the pride of service.

Hotel was nice, pool hours we not convient. With little kids there and the pool not being open untill 6pm, they don't have long to swim and then i still had to find another location outside the hotel for entertainment

We were here for one night - New Years Eve with our Son, Daughter, Son-In-Law an Grandchildren. We had 3 rooms in total (all on same floor one of which faced the pool area) We chose this hotel for the indoor water park. It has a wave pool, water slide, hot tub and kiddie pool. Just enough and pleasant enough surroundings to be enjoyable. Lifeguards were great. They had to shut the pool down for 45 min to try and balance the chlorine level. They were very apologetic and we had a great time joking with them. The hotel and rooms were very clean. There was always a staff member vacuuming, mopping and picking up. There was a HUGE hockey tournament in Ottawa that weekend (10 to 12 years olds I think) Luckily not in the pool. NOW, the only reason it didn't get top billing from us was because of the dinner buffet. For $16.95 each ($9.95 for children) it was very pathetic, a lot of money and not all that great. The breakfast buffet at $10.95 each ($5.95 for children) was just so/so as well - not a huge fan of powdered eggs. We would certainly recommend this hotel and would have no problem going back to stay again. I can't forget a big shout out to Chantel for her help. Great job!

- The room was priced OK for the Holiday Season. - It was nice to learn that Internet access and parking were included with our room fees. - Upon arrival, we discovered a large amount of dead flies near the room window (more than 20). We reported the situation to front desk and they seemed concerned. Even after "cleaning" our room, we still saw some dead flies on the floor. - Hot water was hard to get. We needed to keep the taps open for about 10 minutes before we got running hot water. - Complimentary coffee in the room was extremely poor quality - Indoor water park and pool were closed; no explanation why.

Nice Hotel, excellent location and comfortable. I recoomend this hotel to friends.

Spacious and clean hotel and rooms. Outdated bathroom, buttons on tv barely worked, neither did the remote. All in all my single night mid week stay was good!

In general it is fine.

We stayed at this hotel because it was on Hotels.com website with a high review and a low price. Nothing wrong for our stay but misleading for families, the waterpark was only open at night. The traffic in the area was mostly one way because of the construction, there was mud everywhere and barriers all over blocking you. Parking was awful because if you missed your turn to the parking lot you had to drive around in a circle a few miles through the contruction. The staff at the desk were polite but not helpful. We asked for an ext cord for a sleep apnea machine and they said they would bring it but did not. They had time to talk to us but did not engage us when we asked questions. They did not pick up the phone when we called down to talk to them. We were put in the back corner of the place and had a good 5 minute walk to the car from the room. Do not stay here if you are looking for a relaxing vacation with a waterpark. Is great for a place to sleep.

The hotel for my bussiness is out of the way; however I would recommend a shuttle bus of some sort to make it easier for folks travelling from the Airport to your location.

One of the big things about this hotel is the pool. Well, it's only open from 6-10PM on weekdays. They have lifeguards - which hover over us even when in just the hot tub. It felt a little odd...

not as impressive as advertised but the location (other than the fact major road construction right in front of the hotel) was what sold us on staying there. It was only a mile from where we needed to be each day.

The hotel and location were great but dinner in the hotel restaurant was very poor to mediocre.The baked potatoe was stale and had to be sent back.The sirloin was tough and the salmon fair.Desert was the only nice feature,cheesecake and chocolate cake.My advice .Stay at the hotel but don't eat there.

I stayed for 2 nights. The roads nearby were under construction, and I didn't sleep that well, but other than that, it wasn't too bad. The receptionists were friendly and helpful, and there's a nice souvenir shop. The fitness room was nothing special, but not horrible, either. There was one machine for doing various exercises with pulleys, 2 treadmills, and 2 ellipticals. No dumbbells or barbells though. But the parking was free and the rooms were fairly cheap per night, so it was worth it.

The rate I got was great, lucky it was a boys trip as my wife would not have liked the condition of hotel and surroundings. Linens and bedding clean enough but in morning after a restless night sheets had moved to reveal a very worn mattress. Room had view of pool which gets very noisy in afternoon and early on weekend. The staff were accommodating and restaurant had a hot buffet breakfast that was worth the $10 This hotel I'd recommend to family trips where value is a must and noise not an issue. Not for a quiet weekend away with wife though! You get what you pay for and the rate I got from hotels.com was fair enough

Stayed here with a baby for 4 nights. Close to major bus routes, and has a 24 hour shoppers drug mart across the street. Room had 1 queen + 1 pull out couch, and a door that opened out to the wave pool. Sort of noisy in the mornings when people would use the pool and yell and scream but it's not so bad... woke me up though! There were a few events going on during our stay (ie conference, party like a club with young ppl and alcohol smell everywhere), place was nice and clean, tidy, well-kept. Service ppl were friendly . Did not try the restaurant but it's open til 10pm. Had to order for late night snacks. Bed was comfy. The room has a mini fridge, coffee/tea, tv, desk with lamp, lots of outlets for charging your electronics, sufficient closet/drawer space, and a good size bathroom. Lighting was a bit dim though as the room is lit by about 5 or 6 different lamps.

Location of room unsatisfactory - complaint of noise when checking out, was shrugged off.

Hi, I would reccommend this hoel to anyone, my stay wqas very comfortable, it was hot in Ottawa while i was here and the airconditioning was perfect, able to be set in the room. The beds were comfortable, and the linens changed daily, if you chose. The bathroom was fine, and had everythingthing i needed, fresh towels daily. I went for a hot tub and swim and enjoyed it. This is great if you are travelling, and doing a lot of sighseeing and walking, to have the option of a hot tub at the end of the day, unfortunately the wave machine was broken, so could not have a truly great swim experience. The staff were friendly. I would stay again, I will be back.

The hotel itself was neat and clean. Staff were friendly and polite. There was major construction out front which made accessibility a bit of a challenge, especially since it was our first time being in Ottawa. Bed was too soft and quite uncomfortable.

The hotel over all is ok. It was clean, the staff were good. The room was clean but a bit dated. Keep in mind, you get what you PAY for. The cost of this hotel was low, so I wasn't expexting a 4 star hotel. My only issue with this protery was the parking. You have to park at the back of the hotel. They have a back door entrance form the parking lot to the hotel that is only avaliable during the day. At night you have to walk around a dark corner to get to the front lobby doors. This is an issue if you are alone or have bags to carry the distance. I did point it out to the managment and they said it was for security. Well, DUH, what about the security of your guest's that have to park back there!

Not bad, will do in a pinch. Looks like it was a 1970's hotel. Interesting view from the room lanai, it is of a massive wave pool which I did not expect.
