This hotel is in a good location, not far from all the attractions. It's clean and the rooms are big for Amsterdam. but quite old so don't expect modern rooms. If your room does not include breakfast go to a nearby cafe the breakfast has a poor choice and is overpriced for what is available.

Stayed here for 3 nights over Easter break. Standard room very spacious, clean no noise from streets. Only negative is price of breakfast at €17 but there are plenty of places near the hotel.

Beautiful room, facing the canal Tram station is right ahead efficient reception and very helpfulrecommended for couples

Small and friendly hotel. We arrived early and our rooms were not available. However we were checked in and our bagage was placed in a locked store to enable us to head to town. This service was provided at no extra cost which was pleasing. Breakfast was very good but rather expensive. Rooms are spacious and maintained to a high standard. The hotel is located in a pleasant area, just outside the centre of the main town. It is within walking distance to all the main sites but far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the towns centre. The hotel bar shuts at 11pm promptly, so bare this in mind if you fancy a nightcap! Overall, really enjoyed our stay at this hotel.

This was not a bad hotel, in an excellent location. It need major work and upgrades. Definitely not a 4 star hotel, considering the quality and conditions of amenities, decor, services, etc.

The room was magnificent! Large by European standards, bathroom was large too. Huge windows with partial view of the canal. Bed was great, sink and shower were great, furniture in the room was amazing, so much space ...enough for a table and sitting area in addition to the full queen, desk, armoire, 2 night tables...unbelievable. Flat screen TV too! Staff was excellent, polite, friendly, and helpful with restaurant recommendations. Computer in the lobby was free for some reason while we were there and they gave us the code to just use it. Location was central to everything. On a pretty canal and walking distance to nearly every major city attraction. Definite recommend, would stay here again in a heartbeat!

the location is excellent, away from the dirty side of amsterdam, and close to shopping and restaurants...but the service here was non-existent...the staff could not be bothered even looking at you let alone making you feel welcome...together with the general disrepair of the building, i just can't recommend anything about it...look elsewhere

Excellent hotel. The staff were polite, helpful and efficient. The location was perfect for eating, shopping and easy access to transport including trams and canal boats. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. My room was on the fifth floor and was the corner room therefore we had a double aspect view of the street and canal below. The bed was extremely comfortable, the shower curtain did fall down however it only took a couple of minutes to replace. We only stayed for a night but next time it will be longer, The cleanliness of the room and facilities could not be faulted. My one criticism is that a light breakfast is not included in the price. However, there are lots of places to eat nearby and of course you could eat in the hotel restaurant which we chose not to do on this occasion.

The hotel is very nice and clean but doesn't have air conditioning and the summer months can be very uncomfortable as we found out in late June. You don't want to open the windows at night because of all the street noise from crowds, trams and club goers who hoot and holler anytime between 2 and 4am. The location can't be beat because it's walking distance to mostly everything or literally a few yards to the #5 tram which will take you all around Amsterdam. I would stay there again, but not in the summer. Fall or Winter would be really nice after the kids go back to school and the weather is cooler.

The hotel was well located and convenient to most attractions and many restaurants.. The building has lots of 'old world' charm. The room was clean and the bath modern and spacious. One problem was that our room faced a busy street and the trams were somewhat noisy, especially at night. The rooms are not airconditioned, however it was not warm during our stay, so the fan provided was ok. The hotel staff was pleasant and helpful. I would stay there again, provided that it was not during hot weather.

While in a good location, this is not a four star hotel. Convenient to museums, shopping, bars and restaurants plus a tram stop outside the door, however, we only discovered late at night that there were no extra blankets or pillows supplied in the room. The mattress was not of the comfort standard I would have expected. You must pay extra for breakfast, more than that available locally such as at the local flower market. Front of hotel can get noisy at night. In Amsterdam you also pay an extra city tax on checkout. Overall it was ok, but does not deserve four stars.

My girlfriend and I trained to Amsterdam Centraal from Brussels-Midi and then took a tram to the hotel. Definitely worthwhile to get an OV Chipkart across from the tram rails, saves you money and time in the long run. The stop to get to the hotel is called Prisengracht, which is the street the hotel's on so it was REALLY easy. Tram dropped us off right in front. The hotel is kind of old which contributed to its character - winding halls and short, steep staircases (these is also an elevator). Our room was quite big for the price and we got a ton of international channels which was appreciated. The location is the best part: seriously, it doesn't get any better than this. We were here over New Years so being some blocks from the city center was appreciated. Walking distance to anything you could want to do though - it's only a 20 min walk to the Centraal station - the Van Gough and Rijkstad Museums and there are a ton of good places to eat and drink nearby. The one thing I will say however, and maybe it's not fair of me since in the hotel binder it warns you of this: the room phone, and the credit-card phone in the lobby hall, are INSANELY expensive. Don't even use the phone in the lobby hall and if you use the room phone don't call the UK. US calls were pretty cheap but to dial the UK (and anywhere from the lobby cc phone) I was paying more per minute than I spend on lunch each day. That said I would totally recommend this hotel to anyone, except those who only want to party, as the hotel is fairly quiet and specifically asks that the party remains outside.

the hotel was as I saw it through hotel.com. the location was perfect, near the museums. The hotel had an affordable breakfast that made it unnecessary for us to go out before 8 am.

Customer service skills from staff were lacking. Everyone we encountered at the front desk were rude. No air conditioning unit available in the room. Temperature is controlled from the front desk only. Big issue with turning in your room key at the front desk everytime you left the hotel. They claim it is for security purposes and standard practice, but I have traveled all around the world and have never encountered this before. I felt like I was in a dormitory checking in with the front desk everytime I came and left. The staff was very rude in these discussions as well. This issue alone would prevent me from returning to this hotel.

I would expect a lot better from a 4 star hotel... I've stayed in 3 star hotels that are cleaner and look nicer. The rooms look very old, and although they were clean, they looked dirtry from the old carpet and curtains On the other hand the location is perfect....

The hotel was not only what I had anticipated for being in Amsterdam, but it was incredibly spacious for a room in Europe. I had the most incredible view from room, and several windows to look out upon the city and canals. The receptionist was very helpful and friendly and directed me to all of the closest museums. The beds were the most comfortable that I had experienced up to that point and I slept like a baby. There is a bustling city so there was some noise, but it didn't bother me in the slightest. I intend on staying here again next year.

Nothing bad to say about this hotel really. Good location. Good service. Clean room. Fully supplied room. miniBar, AC, ice machine on the first floor, TV English channels were plenty(they forgot to turn off the PPV channels the first night...OH YEAH!) They lady at the check in desk was nice and gave us a room at noon. We were up for 36hrs. Our room had a good view, but in Amsterdam it is hit and miss. You CAN get a room facing a brick wall. The tram was outside the room, but you get used to that after 15min. We have been to Amsterdam 5 times before. This was the best hotel we stayed at, but most expensive.

cant fault this hotel in anyway. The reception staff were brilliant right from checking in to checking out. Location was right in the centre. Room was clean spacious and would definitely stay here again and would most certainly recommend to anyone.

Rooms quite large by European standard. Room 107 was huge! Modest hotel but was located in a great part for food, entertainment, and especially transportation. Noise was not an issue. Hotel located right on canal. For a great steak go the the New York Steakhouse in the entertainment centre 3 min walk away from hotel. For directions, or any help - ask for Nico - he was fabulous and knows what he's talking about!!!!!!! Some of the other staff weren't quite as helpful. Nice - but did not offer their clients much help on some basic needs. Overall, I would still highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel was walking distance to shops and eateries and pubs and everthing else that we did.The room was very nice and clean. The only negative was no free internet.

Like the rating above, I was happy with cleanlyness, the room was nice - good size , reception service was ok, too, not overly friendly, but certainly not unfriendly. Location is good, lots of eateries around. But noise level from the street is extreme! To leave window open at night is impossible due to tram and people (and all night) , which is a bit a problem on hot days, as there is no aircon.

I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived at the hotel and stayed for 3 nights. I asked for a room with a view, which was a great view of the canal outside the front of the building. Some have complained about the noise from the tram and people walking by outside, but I found the noise level to be quite acceptable and the bells from the tram were actually soothing in a way. I often left the big bay window open just to feel like I was a part of this bustling city, while cozy in my room on the third floor. The staff was pleasant and friendly, but in that particularly distant way that Amsterdammers are known for. However, they seem to lighten up a bit when you say "Dank u wel". Even if they look at you like you're out of your mind trying to speak Dutch. The room itself was fairly large for Europe and the bed was quite comfortable. And the bathroom was clean and modern. I think the best part of this hotel was its location. It's right near the Leidseplein with dozens of restaurants, bars, stores and coffeeshops nearby and a tram stop on the corner for when you might want to explore other parts of the city.

Hotel well placed close to both city centreand the museum district, very comfortable, big room, friendly staff and great value in comparison to other hotels I have stayed imn.

room did not have A/c, and was very hot and humid so we ask for fan we got a small disk fan.Finally we end up opening the windows, it was too noisey, we could not sleep because hotel was in the middle of bars and night clubs, so noise continued until 6:00am. Beds mattress were very uncomfortable we end up with a back pain every morning. Bathroom had only a stall showers not tub,and it was very small that only takes one person at a time. when we request different room we always hit with we do not have a single room empty and we got this room because we check in late and they give away most rooms, even though they know we would be in late. I believe this hotel did meet 4* status, I will give it 2*. Also we were asked to pay taxes for the room even i explained that hotel was paid in full in the state.they forced us to pay it, so we end up paying to avoid problem in foreign country.

Excellent Location! You are a short walk from good restaurants, shows, or quiet along the canals with a tram stop close by for ventures further afield. The staff was friendly and very helpful. We felt like we were in a very quiet small city (with all kinds of options no other small city would have).

Our room was basic, clean, good-sized but lacked any "old-world" charm that we anticipated. Location is perfect and made up for any disappointment in terms of the room. Tram and bus stops are right by the hotel, easy walking to most Amsterdam sights, and canal activity right in front of hotel was always interesting.

Et utmerket hotell på mange måter, men vi ble skuffet over at frokostsalen i 2. etg var bygget om til rom og lagt til et upersonlig rom i kjelleren. Frokostserveringen nå framsto ikke som noe annet enn standard. Grunnen til at vi valgte D&T denne gangen var tidligere erfaring med personlig atmosfære. Den er nå borte

Vi var i hovedsak godt fornøyd med hotellet. Svært sentralt, gåavstand til alt vi ville se.Hørte svært lite fra gaten rett utenfor. Det eneste vi vil kommentere som negativt, var at det var svært harde senger.

Vi likte dette hotellet godt. +: selve rommet var kjempefint og stort, med litt hard seng og deilig bad. Jeg lå i badekaret og drakk øl ved flere anledninger. Beliggenheten er knall og personalet var knall. -: eneste minus var at det var dårlig utsikt og det bråkte fra aircondition. Rommene er veldig romantiske :)

Skønt hotel med en beliggenhed for mennesker der ønsker at træde ud i et pulserende byliv. Værelse standard er den gamle stil men skønt uden al den hightech. Der var rent og ordentligt på det værelse jeg boede på så det var alt i alt en god oplevelse

Vi havde en smuk udsigt fra værelset til Prinsengracht. Meget romantisk. Men beliggenheden tæt på Leidseplein er ikke god, dels fordi der kørte sporvogne tæt på hotellet indtil meget sent - og igen tidligt om morgenen, dels fordi nattelivet og den dermed forbundne larm var meget intens, især fredag og lørdag.

Hotellet ligger sentralt til i nærheten av alt; Starbucks, Ben & Jerry's, Hard rock cafè, McDonalds, Burger King, barer, restauranter og konsertklubber (Paradiso). Trygge omgivelser. Anbefales.

昨年一人で宿泊した際、大変気に入ったのでまた宿泊に決めました。ライツェ広場に近く、トラムの駅も目の前で、アンネの家は徒歩20分運河沿いを歩いて行けます。また、ゴッホ美術館などトラムで10分で行けるので、女性の一人旅でも安心できます。ホテルの部屋も古いですが、清潔でヨーロッパに来たなぁという造りで素敵です。

Det beste var størrelsen på rom og bad; det værste var frokosten som var sparsom og altfor dyr. Men det gjorde ingenting, da det bare er å ta frokosten på en av de koselige kafeene i nærheten.Greit med vannkoker og minibar/kjøleskap på rommet. Hyggelig betjening og fantastisk utsikt til kanalen gjennom det generøse vinduet.Alt i alt en god opplevelse, som gjør at vi gjerne kommer igjen.
