Chaminade Resort & Spa - سانتا كروز

The hotel did not look anything like the photos on the website. The website showed this gorgeous room with beautiful views, and that was not the case when we arrived. The floors were filthy, I wore some white footsies and the bottom of them were black from the dirt on the carpet. There was no refrigerator or microwave provided. Overall, I would not come here again.

Great place to stay for some piece and quiet. Beautiful grounds, and the surrounding where amazing.Great restraunt and bar. Loved and how he picked us up and took us back to our room, it was a good walk. Bathroom towels are the only thing I would change. Loved the decor!!

the only downside to this hotel is it's not at the beach...the flipside is it's in the woods and absolutley beautiful with the beach still 5 minutes away...you want out of the hustle and bustle....stay here, it's beautiful.

We stayed for 1 night and thank gooodness its only one night. This hotel claimed to be a resort and spa but in no way I got a restful stay here. Room 206 temp control or a/c didn't work they tried to fix the problem I guess but the room remain very hot and the ceiling exhaust made an annoying sound even when we turned the temp control off. They call it luxury no way its luxury I bet the motels by boardwalk had better rooms. Will never come back to this hotel.

Hotel is nice. Horrible customer service. 1 restaurant closed, no one answering at Room Service or at Front Desk. Dirty tables which were never bused at the one restaurant that was open.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at the Chaminade Resort and would defnitely go back. The room was very comfortable and the location was beautiful and central to everything.

The room was fabulous, the area was enchanting, and the stay was too brief for my wife and I. I took my wife there for her birthday and we were both impressed with the hotel, the many trails surrounding the hotel, and the hospitality of the people who work there. We would like to go back during the summer to enjoy it even more.

There was no temp control in the room we were cold all night, the lunch we had at the bar & grill was horible!! The salad was yellow, not to mention that the waitress spilled a whole glass of tea on the laps of wife!!

I signed up for a king and got 2 queens, then they charged me a resort fee of 25 dollars!!!! This place was OK for a resort/spa but I've definitely been to better places. Nothing special.

This is such a nice resort with so much to offer. Nice pool, volleyball court, hiking trails and spa. We took our kids here and we all had a great time.

We had couple's massage at the SPA - excellent service and excellent massage. I was impressed by how the young lady can do such a good job! I*f you are at the hotel, got to try the massage.

Very comfortable and clean room. Nice bed. The heated salt water pool and jacuzzi were awesome!

my first visit was awesome! when we walked in the whole place smelled like a spa. Our dinner that night was top notch. we ate out on the patio at sunset and the night was perfect. i had the fresh fish and my husband had the pork chop. the brussel sprouts were great. we like to work out and really enjoyed the gym and hot tub. we made our next reservation as soon as we got home to check our calendar. next time im going to try the spa!

The location of the Chamoniade Hotel is really great. The Resturant and Bar areas have really beautiful views and it adds to ones relaxation. We just ate breakfast and it was OK, the views really helped make a difference. and the friendlieness of the staff. The private spa area was spotless and very inviting. On the down side the general spa and pool water was dirty and unappealing. The carpets in the corridors to the rooms looked unvacumed during out whole stay. The room however was spotless and very comfortable. I would give this hotel one more stay only because the views are fablous and private spa is really nice.

I checked in very late and made my way to my room only to discover that the guy at the front desk wrote down the wrong room number when he gave me the key card. My key card didn't work, after trying a few times I went to look for a house phone, couldn't find one, used my cell phone to call the front desk who said someone will be right there. When security showed up to let me know, the hotel lock was on the door - which meant someone else was in the room. So glad they didn't wake up. My room was across the hall. When I woke up in the morning, found a note from the hotel saying the power was off for the whole hotel. So much for my nice relaxing morning. Got a call from the hotel about 9 am saying that due to the lack of power they were offering compliementary breakfast in the main restaurant. Made my way to get some breakfast since I didn't want to sit in my dark room and eat the breakfast I ordered the night before. After breakfast I thought I'd sit by the pool, since my idea of going into the sauna was out due to lack of power. After close to an hour at the pool, maintenance came by to close the pool. Turns out that if there's no power, there's no circulation in the pool...which could contaminate things. At that point I decided to just check out and cut my losses. At check out I was toldI would be not charged the resort fee (good thing, since there was no way to use any of facilities they offered) and since on checking in I wasn't told there was a resort fee. Overall, it was just bad situation at a nice hotel. Oh and when i left at noon, there was still NO POWER.

We were on the second floor of one of the out buildings and there wasn't an elevator to get luggage upstairs. Room service left much to be desired when they didn't bring utensils and also forgot one item. A robe was also missing from the room.

Main building and dining room first class with great views. Outlying room and hallway smelled of strong mildew door. Rooms med total Rehav.

Chaminade is a convention center/hotel that has a restaurant, bar, swimming pool, and full service spa with something for each of your guests, including a gym, steam room, sauna, outdoor hot tub, Japanese pond, and a lovely view of the hills and ocean. My guests were delighted and appreciative of it all. Money well spent.

We spent two nights at this resort and were overall very satisfied with it. A fridge in the room would have been nice. Since we were attending the Santa Cruz Blues Festival we didn't have much time to take advantage of the pool or spa facilities. We had a very good meal in the on site restaurant. Since it was raining and we were in building 800 which is about the furthest away from the main building we drove to the restaurant and took advantage of the valet parking - very friendly and efficient service. The only disappointing aspect was the parking (or lack thereof) outside of our building. There were no parking spaces on either night outside our building or any of those nearby. We ended up having to park away from the building in some alternative guest parking. I think marking some spaces with the building room number would have helped to alleviate this problem. When I mentioned this to the person on reception when checking out on Memorial Day, "I'm sorry' in a very insincere voice was the reply. Whilst I realize there was not much the receptionist could personally have done about it, the tone of her response was quite nauseating.

We did not sleep very well. If you are on the first floor you can hear the people above you walking. Definitely not a 4 start hotel, probably should be downgraded to a 3 (at most). That said, staff was friendly.

Room was kind of worn and badly soundproofed. Service at the restaurant was 2 stars tops. I did not get what I ordered, the wine glass was dirty and the meat was not cooked as ordered but still tasty. The Spa was a highlight. Very nice! The pool was ok but the facilities are a bit ticky-tacky

Have stayed here twice before and love it every time. Clean, quiet, beautiful land, decent prices.

Wonderful stay. Get away with girlfriends for a weekend of pampering. Beautiful location and grounds. Ask for forest view, otherwise will be on ground floor overlooking parking lot. Spa was absolutely wonderful. Great restaurant as well.Hope for a return trip in the future.

I have heard back in the 70's and 80's, the Chaminade was the place to stay in Santa Cruz. Unfortunately, our recent experience would indicate the resort is well passed its prime and in desparate need of a serious remodel. While the grounds are lovely and the spa, fitness center and pool areas are well kept, this was about the only consolation we could find during our stay. Staff was very aloof; no sense of genuine customer service - we evidenced this at check-in, the spa, the restaurants and even in passing workers on the grounds. The one bright and welcomed exception was Coach Ron Nelson who went out of his way to give us a tour of the spa and offer input on where to go and what to do in the surrounding area. While the rooms appeared clean and nicely furnished, it was apparent that more than a coat of paint and new bedspread is needed - in fact, a complete retrofit is what would fit the bill. We could hear each and every step the guests above us took (until 3:45am the second night) and each was accompanied with the soothing sounds of loud squeaky floor joists. I'm almost certain we heard the flushing of every toilet in our building as well! The bathroom was the poorest use of space I have ever encountered in a hotel - there was absolutely no counter space to put any toiletries on sans a 12 inch x 6" long wood block/shelf attached to the wall left of the sink. I'm sure at one point, the bed was extremely comfortable, but the mattress sagged so badly that I ended up rolling right into the middle. And the food was less than average in spite of the stunning patio views. If you're looking for a Santa Cruz resort that offers a relaxing, "retreat" enviornment with amenities and customer serivice that follow suite, unfortunately the Chaminade is not it.

This hotel is dated and noisy. Sounds like people are in your room with you when you walk down the hall. We tried to make light of the 70s decor, but the truth is, we were pretty disappointed. Staff were friendly, and the location was good, but he hotel itself left much to be desired.

No question this is a beautiful hotel and my room was very spacious. I had the misfortune of getting a room with a phone that didn't work when I needed to reach the front desk. Plus, the ice machine outside the building was broken. I used my cell phone to reach hotel staff who were very friendly and helpful. Nice little outside patio was a nice touch.

I only stayed at this hotel for one night...but from checking in to checking out, the hotel staff was very friendly. The location was AMAZING!!! So the stay was peaceful from traffic noise and the city nearby. The resort's appearance was pretty, sitting on top of a hill surrounded by trees. The only somewhat disappointing things were; 1)we were on the bottom floor room and our upstairs neighbor walked loudly for about an hour at 1 am. It made it harder to fall asleep but I'm not sure how typical this was for other guests; 2) I wish the restaurant would offer a better price for breakfast. It was only a buffet when I just got granola cereal. That was an expensive bowl. Other than that the hotel overall was really nice.

Overall it was a very pleasant stay. We loved the beds (my daughter didn't want to leave) but the room was dark. I was surprised they didn't offer any help in finding restaurants and we only found out they had 4 on site dinning choices after we ate dinner. It was nice that we were in a secluded location but still near the everything.

very cold response at check in, very cold almost elitest staff. The hotel would not provide a copy of my bill when requested. I travel well over 100 nights a year and never had a hotel staff tell me that. before. The televison in my room did not work properly, and for the price, the space in the room was quite cramped.

Excellent, quiet, clean hotel. Check-in was easy and fast. Will stay there again when I visit Santa Cruz
