Everything was great and staff was very friendly

We stayed at the Hyatt Fairfax for three days to visit Washington DC. The hotel is located about 20 minutes from DC. A bit confusing to find of the freeway but we got the hang of it after the first day. The hotel is clean and the room was spacious. Our room had a king and a double bed. My daughter loves to swim, however we found the pool was not open in the morning. The breakfast in the Nova Grill was great and we had excellent service. We would stay again if we return to the DC area.

We appreciated the fact that the Hyatt is a highly rated hotel for the price that was available, but the reason for the price is very apparent. The fact that all "amenities" are extra explains everything. The lack of in-room refrigerators and wifi is highly disappointing in this day and age, and to charge "fees" is outrageous in my opinion. The fact that these exorbitant fees exist could have been eased a bit had the rooms been properly built. No sound proofing exists. There was a cheerleading something going on the weekend we were there. Conveniently, these parties were placed on every floor and were constantly running and yelling up and down the hallways until after 10 o'clock. A call to front desk didn't appear to help. After 10, we got to listen to the people in the adjacent room talk until well after midnight. This wasn't something that required a call to the front desk as they should be allowed to talk in their own room. We should, however, be allowed to not hear them if the rooms were properly maintained for comfort. This is the second time we have stayed in this hotel and the second time it did not meet our expectations. Upon checkout, we were not asked how our stay was and for a hotel that appears to pride itself on service, this is a little disconcerting as they either don't care after they have gotten the money or expect certain feedback.

All I had time for was the event I was attending.

I like everything about this hotel including the staff!!

It's okey for 1 night. The lobby, hallways look dark and dull. Needs an update. Internet access is not free.

Terrible, no power for 3 hours, on a valentines day weekend! Over prices for what you actually get, not worth it at all

It was fine until Sunday morning when the power was turned off, not the hotel's fault. Also they put flyers out Saturday night. I also reserved a smoking room and upon arrival there were not any. Kind of cold outside to smoke - but thats where I smoked.

Great room, comfortable bed and very quiet. It's the second time for my visit, and I'm sure I will be back.

Very Good

The stay was fine, very comfortable. Only negative is the WiFi is not free. Most hotels provide this service and was surprised that with cell and laptops part of most families luggage, not convenient to charge a fee.

Room was lovely, hotel was very nice, coveniently located to the Metro Station to go into DC. Looking forward to returning. Cafe has a wonderful buffet for breakfast. Wish it had been free. Was $17 per person. Only went once for that reason.

Impressed with room size and comfort!

We have a couple compaints about our stay: 1. The pool was only open 5-10pm, we went down to swim at 9:30 and were told we couldn't swim. Then no swmming the next morning. We inquired why? and were told Virginia Law says no swimming w/o a lifeguard on duty. I have never heard of such thing, and I stay at hotels ALL the time, so we checked that out and it was falsefor hotels pools in Virginia. 2. $9.95 for in room internet at a Hyatt, come on!! There are many other hotels that offer much more than we got at this Hyatt. There's alot of competition out there and you won't be ble to compete with this lack of amentities even if you have the Hyatt name. We probably would not choose to stay at a Hyatt again.

Got an excellent price for a great room. Hotel was very nice. Only negative was that the rooms were not very sound proof. Overall a very good experience.

Food was horrible and way over priced. Room was clean and arranged nicely. The customer service was ok but seemed very short staffed.

very good stay

Trash in room was full from previous guest. There was urine on the toilet seat. Otherwise, everything was fine. A lot of construction going on and parking lot had a lot of trash.

Pleasant

I thought this hotel worked well for the conference I attended. The shuttle was very helpful to avoid driving at night.

I was impressed when I walked into the lobby but from there it goes down hill from there. Staff wasn't friendly or helpful... Food was ok... Room was huge but outdated and not as clean as I would like... Pool was cloudy and the lifeguard was falling asleep. Great location! Near lots of restaurants and shopping!

Hotel seems nice. However, the entrance and exit were hard to find. Room was spacious enough, but I noticed stains on sofa and carpet. People worked at the breakfast cafe seemed not caring about younger guest. The front desk people were very nice and friendly, but were slow. The interior of the hallway reminded me of college dorm... lack of artistic taste.

Photos of room do not represent rooms. Should not have to take hairdryer from top of closet. No place to put coffee pot. Staff was excellant very professional and helpful. Would stay again if they update rooms.

very good, but no Fridge, or safe in the room

If you travel as often I do you will eventually encounter noisy neighbors in the room next to you. Unfortunately, for those of us who need to respite, whenever we stay in a hotel with paper thin walls, and the couple in the room next door goes on a two night sexcapade until 4 a.m., your purpose for going to that hotel is futile, and your money spent is wasted. The desk manager after personally hearing the ruckus, offered me a cup of coffee and said, "we are sorry for your convenience." Certainly, there was more that could have been done, other than for my wife and I change to another room, if he cared. I am livid and this Hyatt hotel has lost guests who are "considerate of other occupants" forever.

Overall my stay was very good.

Great hotel & area. Room was comfy, great bar and lots of nice staff, eager to help.

Good except for the breakfast waiters who spoiled our stay.we had breakfast already paid which was a buffet self service only the waiters served the coffee i did not think that deserved a tip and if anything i would have tipped them on my last day. Well they gave us the cold shoulder especially a woman called Rosa she was the worse. I did not expect that from a Hyatt hotel were service depended on the tip. Very bad manners.

excellent in every way since I got a very nice rate ... if I was paying the full rate I'd want free wifi and a fridge in the room. It's weird that lower cost chaing can give wifi and fridges in king rooms but the Hyatt doesn't? But bed, TV, housekeeping, front desk all excellent.
