The room was dirty there were items left from the previous guests coffe machine was very dirty

There was nobody at the recepiton at out arrival and we were not the only guests waiting. Rooms are clean but look old, old TV and old funrniture.

Good place to sleep and shower between a trip to six flags and Riverwalk/Alamo. Not the cleanest room but good enough for the price. Air feeds from outside so if anyone is smoking in the vicinity it comes right into the room. Very convenient to six flags and not far from downtown San Antonio.

I just chose the hotel because of the cheap rate. Breakfast was not the best. I got diarrhea after eating the scrambled eggs. But the room was decent. Cleanliness was average. Good for a short stay. The staff was nice. The room when i first entered was too stuffy. I just opened the door and put the AC on full blast. It was good after that.

Very Central location to Sea World and River-walk,and just down the street Fiesta Texas; the room was Clean, but did need some cosmetic touch-up especially in the Shower and bathroom. Otherwise it was a great Experience. Mostly though the Staff like past times was very helpful, and even willing to help look things up on the web if they didnt know the answer to a question. Also, the breakfast every morning is always a Plus.

appliances and decor were very dated!

We had to throw ourselves against the door to open it. It was so stuck we almost gave up. They wanted us out as soon as possible and kept pounding on the door. They were really bent out of shape that this was a prepaid room even though the motel was virtually empty. We chose Howard Johnson because we thought it was a standard good motel chain. This was a great disappointment.

I'll be back!! Close to shopping, restaurants, easy access to major highways. Clean spacious & comfortable room. Breakfast hours could be a little longer-may until 10am. I was on vacation so I slept past 9am most mornings. Nice to have a fridge and microwave in the room as I didn't want to spend all my money eating out. The only problem I had was my room key card --who knew that having it near the cell phone would do that?-I called the desk clerk and he came right away and fixed it!

The staY WAS VERY GOOD LIKED THE BREAKFAST EVERY MORNING, HOUSEKEEPING WAS FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL . AND ONLY ISSUE WHEN I WAS THEIR LAUNDRY FOR HOUSEKEEPING WAS DOWN EITHER THEN THAT RECOMMEND AND WOULD STAY HERE NEXT TIME I VISIT SAN ANTONIO.

Really good deal if you go thru hotels.com the hotel was pretty good, dated but ...no plasma tv like motel 6 but really good bang for your buck.

Hotel was surprisingly nice relatively clean and great location to reAd the reviews it was a dump I will stay here every time business brings me to San Antonio.

My sister and I enjoyed our stay very much other than the problem that is following. We appreciate the staff there. Much personality. We were only 30 minutes from our final destination.The only reason for the 3 and 4 was: The toilet kept refilling about every 15 minutes. The tank leaked out that much water. We had to keep the door shut to not hear the eruption of water going into the tank.

It was OK... The toilet makes a lot of noise every half an hour

Blankets on the bed had holes, tears, cigarette burns

We booked this hotel for a last-minute stay in San Antonio. It was a great price, and the room was comfortable and fairly clean. The hotel is pretty outdated, but that doesn't bother us. The continental breakfast was yummy and had a good selection. My only complaint was that the bathroom didn't appear to be super clean. There were a few hairs on the floor and, like I said earlier, wasn't updated. For the price, I was not disappointed in this hotel.

The staff at Howard Johnson Express were above and beyond. I wasn't satisfied with my first room, so they allowed me to check 2 others and pick which one I preferred. I thought that was extremely accommodating. I was very satisfied with the one I picked. It was clean and very comfortable to stay in. Then the next morning I had already washed my hair before I realized I didn't bring a comb. I called down to the desk and they provided me with one. They were extremely friendly and went out ot their way to please.

I had to have a place to crash prior to a medical appointment with a 5 am showtime. The hotel was conveniently placed to allow me to get to my appointment without excess travel. The building is starting to show some wear and tear and needs some TLC. The paint in the bathroom was pealing around the shower stall and you could see that mold was building under the paint. The facility could use some better security as there were some pretty unsavory characters hanging around all night including what appeared to be "Ladies of the Evening".

This hotel was not for our liking.The only good thing about it is the distance to Sea-world.nosy not clean and expensive

Overall ease to locate hotel, this was spring break week so hotel was full, no extra pillows nor towels. we put the DO NOT disturb sign on the door when we left each day and with this you would expect for housekeeping NOT to come into your room but they did anyway. In-week price was OK stayed Thursday thru Sunday price for Fri and Sat was x3 times the price of Thursday and in my opinion way TOO much $$ for this hotel. Convience for resturants, HEB, Target was right aroung the corner and Fiesta Texas is just up 2 or 3 exits and the Imax theatre too.

I was incredibly disappointed with my stay. The blanket had SEVERAL holes in it like moths or rats had gotten ahold of it. The safety lock on the inside of the room broke off completely so that it couldn't be locked which was very disconcerting since the doors were accessed from the outside.

Terrible hotel rude staff. Rented our room out on the second night. We came back to the hotel that night only to find out we were stranded with no room. The front desk clerk was rude and did not care about their error. Very bad experience do not stay at this hotel !!!!!

The staff was very helpful and courteous. The breakfast was delicious. The location was excellent, close to restaurants, shopping centers and minutes from the amusement parks. The overall experience was great and I would recommend them to my friends and family.

could have stocked the breakfast better but definitely adequate.

bathroom smelled funny. we didn't even bother to shower because the towels were paper thin...

The hotel room was not well maintained. The drywall above the shower surround was cracked and there was an iron burn on the carpet. We ordered a rollaway bed on the second night and the cover for the foam pad was shredded. On the morning before checkout, someone called our hotel room, claiming they were from the front desk and needed my credit card number to pay for "incidentals." I didn't feel comfortable so I went to the front desk. They informed me it was a scam. If the hotel staff knew people call to scam their guests for credit card info, then I would hope they would post warning signs for their guests. The bed sheets were also very thin. I would not recommend staying there.

We booked 3 rooms...family vacation, all were dirty, one smelled of smoke, one bathroom smelled strongly of urine with smears of seething on the wall, trash in the drawers of the dresser, numerous lightbulbs out in room, comforters had several patched up holes, corners of rooms were dirty, shampoo/lotion in some rooms and not in others, 3 bath towels for a room booked for 4 people, called for more towels at night and they said they didn't have any....the staff were nice enough and the breakfast was a plus but would NEVER stay there or any other HJ again...if you value cleanliness at all, stay somewhere else!! We over paid $100/night!!

I have been there before and it was alright....its a good place for the price...the only problem I had was the remote didn't work and they couldn't fix it....I had to push the button to turn the tv but it was alright

Stayed here at least 5 times. Always clean professional staff. Recommend highley.

It was close to where I was going. The staff were personable and very helpful. Access to the Hotel from highway was convenient as well as hotel to highway when we left. We enjoyed our stay and the rate was awesome. The hot water in the shower and the shower itself was a nice reward after a very long and stressful day. We had a great stay. Thank-You.

The hotel was a little close to freeway but noise wasn't too bad . Getting on the right ramps and so on was problem sometimes. Good breakfast.would stay again.

Very nice stay frige could have been colder in order to keep our food cold
