the only problem with our stay was that when we checked in we did not recieve the two queen room that we booked. the hotel was overbooked and so we had to take a king room with a sofa bed - an uncomfortable sofa bed is not the same as a regular bed. other than that, the hotel was beautiful and super fun for kids!! we would definitely go back.

The hotel was beautiful as always but due to the holiday weekend, the place was understaffed so a lot of the services we take for granted were not there. The first room we were given overlooked the parking lot and they considered it a resort room. After paying for the upgrade, the room that we booked had not been cleaned. The manager provided a free buffet which was good as most of the items had been eaten, there were no plates and the coffee was delivered after I had eaten. The pools were over-crowded and there were no chairs or towels at some of the pools. When i commented on all of this at checkout, they waived the resort fee which i did not know i was going to have to pay. Bottom line is I am more disturbed with Hotels.com and this hidden fee than with the overbooked hotel. I would make sure you go on non-holiday weekends to ensure you get what you paid for. If not, just complain if the service is inadequate as the hotel did what they could to make up for any shortfalls in their supplies or services.

None of the maids spoke English. There were not any pool chairs available, even though there were many empty chairs with towels still on, so we were not able to secure chairs. The Adult pool (where we ended up) allowed children in the pool. Our room was not cleaned one day, we had to secure new towels, empty our own trash and had no clean glasses. The front desk removed a couple of none accountable charges, but then sneaked one back onto the ending. Lets just say Westin Hotels have never been one of our favorites!

This is a lovely hotel and great for families. I would not recommend for couples or elderly couples on holiday weekends or spring break because it is packed with families. And I do mean PACKED. It is not the place for a romantic getaway. They definitely fill the hotel by offering specials etc. Every pool is busy and overcrowded on big weekends. Everything is very spread out, alot of walking. The restaurants on property are over priced and the food is mediocre. This sounds like a bad review, but actually it IS a lovely hotel, the rooms are very comfortable and well appointed. The staff is friendly and tries very hard to accomodate you. If you have young children up to about age 12- they will have a great time, just be prepared for the crowds. Bring scooters or bikes if possible to get around the grounds.

I was very upset to learn that the "fees" hotels.com charges did not include the hotel resort fee which I thought I paid for already. Next time I will just book through the hotel since in the end I did not save any money. Very disappointed! What "fees" did I pay if not the hotel fees?

Wow!!!! This is a great place for families to stay. The room was spacious and included a small refrigerator and a giant bathroom. The grounds were impeccably maintained and the staff was very courteous. My only complaint would be that the pools tend to get a bit crowded......but you can likely say that for many resorts in the area. If you have kids, do not wait until the last day to check out the game room that is adjacent to the main lobby. Great fun and all of the games are free. We will definitely stay here again.

Spent a long weekend at Mission Hills. Liked the resort and room was good but the service left a lot to be desired. We dined in the restarurant on the first night, food was good but the service was very poor, and at these prices you expect more, clearly not enough staff. Check in and out was OK but indifferent staff. I wouldn't stay again or recommend to friends.

The price was great on hotel.com however the Westin charges quite a bit extra once you get there for their "resort fees" once its all said and done I don't know that we really got a discount... great spot though I will stay there again.

A very good value for this type of property, however if you are not going to take advantage of the golf, pool or spa's, you might be better served going to a "non-resort." Close to PSP airport, it's a short, easy to navigate drive. Room was exceptionally comfortable and spacious, and much to my pleasure the wi-fi worked perfect.

The Westin Mission Hills is a huge sprawling place right on a golf course, so if you like golf you will enjoy the proximity. I found it to be tired and in need of some TLC. I was there with my daughter to watch the BNP Open at Indian Wells. We got to the hotel late after watching tennis all day and dinner, so we went straight to bed. I woke up at around 4am because the room was very hot. The a/c box on the wall said the room was 74 degrees, but the unit was set for 67. I called the front desk and they asked if I wanted someone to take a look. I didn't want my daughter woken up and didn't want to deal with anyone at 4am so I said no. The clerk, who was very nice, put me on hold for a moment, came back and said that the handyman said he might be able to fix it from outside the room. A little while later the room cooled off. Our friends who were also staying there had the same issue but didn't call. The next night it got warm too, but not as warm as the first night. Makes me wonder if this is a money saving measure. The screen door on the patio was also completely off the track and leaning against the wall. Finally, the front 2/3 of my car was hit with hose or sprinkler water which then dried in the sun requiring washing my car again since that kind of water can etch the paint. I mentioned all of these things at check out and they refunded one day of the resort fee. Not impressed. I think I will look for another place to stay next time. Oh! The restaurant with a nice patio near the pool was great! Our waiter, and especially the guy who bused the table were very nice. My daughter loved her burger, and she's pretty picky about her burger quality. My pork tacos were great too.

it's the little things that work both for, and against this hotel. In the plus column, I didn't meet anyone there that wasn't prepared to make my day and stay great. The fact that they took such great care of my kids, engaged them, and made them feel welcome was fantastic. my kids did not feel out of place, and I was particularly happy that they could skateboard around the campus comfortable because of the nice, wide sidewalks. Even the other guests were friendly about it. But the little things made the room feel over priced, and the experience a little... uncomfortable as well. Things like the dirt ring around the bath tub... where you could see that they could scrape it off, and checked to see if they could scrape it off, but didn't actually go all the way to scrubbing it clean. Things like warm drinks at the restaurant, sent back, only to be replace by another warm drink with the explanation that- that was as cold as it got. Things like paying for the salmon entree to put salmon on the salad... a good $20 addition... really???? And when finally trying to pay for my meal, having the experience interrupted by a cockroach running across the path between myself and the waiter. Things like having the cleaning crew block paths, and entrances while trying to move about. Things like finding a stained bed sheet... it looked cleaned... but with a permanent stain... eessshhhh. All in all. I feel like I way over paid... and wonder if that is a hotel dot com issue. I know I could have gone down the road for a more unique experience at almost half the price. but don't know if I could have done it with my kids--- It was almost worth the $ having my kids feel comfortable... but I doubt I will ever return.

If you want to use your cell phone while staying in this hotel, be aware of it that you pratically don't have a signal in most places, certainly not in the room. Hair shampoo was not supplied duriong my stay; but the fitness room is excellent.

We stayed for a recent father - son weekend and found this hotel to exceed our expectations. Pool and golf facilities were outstanding. Resturant was very good. Staff were excellent. Will stay again. Was close to other golf cources we played and airport.

I was very disappointed in the overall experience I had this past weekend. From the inability to receive a late check-out, to the maids attempting to come in the room and push us out hours before departure time. They even opened the door once and failed to secure it when they realized we were at breakfast. My room had a dusty spider web which had been there awhile. Our dirty plates piled up on our table for the entire breakfast even though it was a buffet.

During the 5 days after checking out, the Accounting Department charged my bank account quadruple the actual charges, seizing my funds until several calls later to resolve. Who wants to do that after a lovely vacation?

Great location near agua caliente casino, and near by shopping center, very big resort, quiet, peaceful, and friendly staff! Would stay again!

Satisfied with our stay. Love the express check out , except for the extra $2+ per night they charge extra( no detail given) Definitely will recomend to friends.

We had a nice time over all. The staff was generally very pleasant with one unpleasant exception at the front desk. Property is very large. I enjoyed AM walk, 1 mile from one end to the other. If you don't golf of play tennis it's a little isolated from surrounding areas ie; shopping good restaurants. Definitely have to drive to get anywhere of interest. Pool areas were a little crowded but we went when kids were out of school. The weather was fantastic, 78 degrees in December ! PS The spa was clean but front desk was not up to par & the facial was OK, not great.

My wife and I stayed at the Mission Hills resort in the Palm Springs area over New Year's weekend. I have stated the Westin resort in Phoenix, which was terrific, so I expected a similar experience. Our room although quite large with the pleasant view was sparsely furnished and lack all sense of style or charm. Tiles were loose in the bathroom floor. One sink had a nonfunctional hot water faucet with only cold water available in that sink. Housekeeping neglected to empty baskets and the cleanliness was very basic. I would note that the room itself would be good for a family with a couple of kids because of its generous size. While the food in the main restaurant was good there was very little choice with regard to places to eat at the resort and the menu at both the bar and the restaurant were very similar . Additionally because of a lack of eating facilities one had to wait both at breakfast and dinner in order to get a table. The small store on the premises which did provide for some coffee and snack foods ended up under stocked because according to the clerk someone had forgotten to order new food for the store. I expect this place would be good for young families with children as there are good pools and lots of room for kids to run around. I would not recommend this to couple's. Its price category along with the $27 per night "resort fee" addition would make one believe that this is a high end luxury hotel which it is not. At the end of our stay the clerk asked if we had been happy with our stay and I said "it did not live up to our expectations" her reply, "oh I'm so glad you liked it" a programmed response that indicated she was not really listening but just fulfilling her program speech.

The resort has a lot of facilities but we didn't have enough time to enjoy all of them. However, the room condition was below our expectations for a Westin brand. First of all, the complimentary toiletries were missing in the bathroom. Then, we noticed that the coffee supply weren't topped up. There was no creamer and stirrer for the coffee. On the morning of the second day, housekeeping called while we were asleep to ask if we want to have the room made up, which is kinda unexpected and not in a good way. We told them to come back in the afternoon but they never come. On top of that, our toilet bowl got clogged up and the resort only sent someone to our room to fix the clog after a second call. For the price that we paid for the hotel and as part of the Westin brand, the service experience we received for our room was below our expectation.

This Hotel was great overall . The only problem is when using your cell phone signal is bad and the price is a little high . I would highly recommend this hotel. This was my third trip staying at this hotel great place to stay.

we were told at 2.00 when we arrived that check in was not till 3:00 in the afternoon and that our room was not ready. When we finally arrived to the room we had bugs in the bath tub, so I find it hard to believe it had been occupied at the time of our arrival or the person that was responsible to clean the room did a terrible job. The hotel was big with no sense of center of where to meet besides a Parking lot

The resort is beautiful and the restaurant and lounge service is great. The room is not what I expected for what I paid. At the very least I would expect a spa tub. Bugs present in the bathroom and the area surrounding the room was not "resort like"

OK food but lousy service. the waitress forgot our salad and brought it after we finished the entree. We had to find our waitress to pay the bill, she was talking with other employee's. The room was clean but the grounds were unkept. We got our reservation from hotels.com and didn't save anything because the hotel charged us $27 per day for parking and unwanted WiFi. We were given a room across the parking lot from the service entrance!

This is a lovely place! Manicured grounds, beautiful pools. Dreamy beds. Delish food. Every hotel person you pass greets you! We'll be back for sure!

Great rooms but its far from the parking lot . Room service is great but limited to after hours menu. Luggage carry was offered, but didnt realize rooms were far away from parking area. Nice clean rooms and you definitely need to use the cart service there. Overall a quiet family resort with beautiful pools.

Fantastic, clean, and very comfortable. Pools not overcrowded. water slides for kids. Rooms great, clean carpets, new beds. We never left the hotel:)

Let's cut to the chase, this is a Westin and it just feels like a time share location not a resort like in Los Cabos or Hawaii. Lot's of good activities but not close to shopping and everything is pretty pricey.

Great property! Rooms were big and the the lady at the front desk went the extra mile and made sure all of our rooms were next to each other! Would have been nice if there had been a little night life on the property, a place to hear music and dance... The spa was lovely, nice and relaxing. Several pools to choose from. That was a bonus, since we all left our kids at home and spent our day in an area away from the noise and splashing. We are considering taking kour kids back ( and husbands) for another visit!

I loved the location, away from the typical city life and yet all that we needed was there. To see Westin at night was eye candy. We felt like we had taken a trip to somewhere tropical, our favorit thing to do. Westin, thanks for the memories! See you soon

I found a coupon on line that would give me a $50 credit at the hotel. I called to confirm the credit and what we could use it for. I was told that breakfast wasn't included in the room but that I could use my credit for meals. When I arrived at the resort, I was told that the credit could only be used for the golf resort (that was overbooked) or the spa. Very disappointing!!

Great hotel, very large resort, location is sort of middle of nowhere, but it is very quiet. Great stay, would stay again!

Great place to take your family!

The weather is scorching hot (119F) even in the beginning of September. So it's important to have nice pools, which they do. We have two kids and the 4 year-old loved their water slide located at the main pool. Our room was clean and even had an empty frig to store milk and drinks for the kids. The ponds in the back patio added a nice touch and the ducks running around were charming and the kids loved it. The surrounding area was great and don't forget to visit "The River" mall for some good food.

Went on a 4 day vacation getaway w/husband and 4 kids. Had the Best time Ever!! Lots of pools,water slides,live music, ping pong poolside,kids crafts, and did I mention a bar. The kids were entertained and we got to relax by the pool all day. We took a shuttle to the Villa pool the second day and enjoyed ourselves even more. We will go back ASAP the kids said that they LOVED IT! Me too.

We enjoyed our stay at the Westin Mission Hills, in Rancho Mirage Ca. the staff was excellent, especially the concierge, Cora. Our 2 french bulldogs were welcome and treated very well, with heavenly dog beds.we had a great stay, in spite of the super hot weather.

I love this location and staying st the Westin Mission Hills (only hotel I have stayed in while visiting in Palm Springs) I would recommend this hotel to anyone, I always try to get a room located in their "Las Brisas swmiming pool area, it is also their adult pool.
