Hotel Al Sole - البندقية

This hotel was the most expensive hotel we stayed in during our 2 week trip to Italy and by far the worst. Our room smelled the entire time we were there, even if we left the windows open all day. On our last full day we were asked for our key as we were leaving to sight see for the day, when we said we were more comfortable taking it with us, we were chased into the street by a staff member and told we HAD to leave the key. When we returned that day we had to give our room number to get our key back... I could have said any number and they would have given me the key, not a comforting feeling. When we return to Venice we will either pay more of a nicer more central hotel, or we will go for a bargain so we won't feel like we have wasted so much money.

This was a great hotel, quite close to everything, including transportation to and from Venice which proved to be useful when we were leaving. There were great restaurants nearby and the room we had was fantastic - high ceiling with a view out over the canal.

Great hotel, lovely location, great staff, good breakfast. Easy walk from coach or train station. Thoroughly recommended.

Lovely hotel in a reasonable spot, just not my cup of tea. This was one of the dearest hotels on our trip, and I didn't feel at all comfortable - felt like I was staying with my rich cousins. We had baggage man insist on carrying our luggage to our rooms, after we have carted them all over Italy we are quiet capable of doing this ourselves, He then proceeded to show us how the blinds work and then I suspect we were supposed to tip him, as this is not custom is Australia it is not something we are comfortable doing, so we don't do it -I am aware that the Americans do it all the time, The rooms were nice, the view great,, breakfast good, we just didn't feel comfortable. Had to pay extra for Wifi.......it's a business and they're there to make a buck, that's just how I felt.

As they say, everything is relative. This hotel in American city would probably be located in skid row, but in Venice it is a very nice (and expensive) hotel. Our room was modest and had a very nice and functional bathroom. Our window gave us a very nice view of the canal in front of the hotel. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was included and adequate. The staff was very friendly, spoke English, and were very willing to help us with our questions. The hotel is just a few blocks from the train station, and this is important when you are lugging your luggage and going up and down the over 400 bridges in Venice.

Of all of the hotels I have used across the UK, Europe and in the USA this was perhaps the most satisfying. Beautiful without luxury, it offers a stunning garden setting for breakfast and opens onto serene rio-side view that left me with a sense of belonging. Breakfasts were substantial and regularly re-stocked by quietly efficient staff. Front desk staff were unfailingly polite and as helpful as any I have known before. The room was clean and comfortable, though we did have twin-beds joined. The bar is strikingly attractive wth a well in the centre. I had the best glass of wine I have ever tasted at a price that compared favourably with anywhere in the city. The problem I found was that it closed at 10. However, there's a friendlly little place next door. The complimentary water-taxi to Murano was an unexpected bonus, as was the discount and reservation at a fine osteria across the street. We have stayed in smarter and slicker hotels elsewhere in Venice but when we retiurn it will be to Hotel Al Sole.

Nice hotel short walk from the bus station. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful

The breakfast area of this hotel was it's biggest bonus. Sat in the sunshine under green vines was a lovely relaxing way to start the day. The hotel had a real rustic feel and the windows made you feel like you were in a very traditional venetian hotel. The hotel staff were helpful and friendly, giving us restaurant recommendations and booked a music concert for us. The area had plenty of places to eat but had a quiet feel to it. Nice to get away from the bustling crowds at the end of a busy days walking. The water bus was within easy walking distance and although we enjoyed the walk to the main sites I wouldn't like to have to do it more often than a couple of times. The room was an adequate size but wasn't the type of room to relax in for long. More a bed for a night. However, after speaking to friends we had more room than some in rooms closer to San Marco and Rialto bridge. The bathroom was ok but could do with being updated as the shower was in a strange position and the fan, if left on made a strange smell. However, the view from our room meant we always wanted the window open!!! Overall a really enjoyable stay and compared to the prices of other more central hotels, good value for money.

Teeny-tiny room with ridiculously high ceiling. Minimal closet/drawer space. Small bathroom with a tiny shower. In-room safe didn't work - we asked to have someone come to fix it, but no one came and we ended up doing without. That said, the hotel is extremely well located - a short walk from the bus and train stations, which is important in Venice since travel is by foot or by boat. The hotel was very quiet, in a nice area. The A/C worked well and was almost completely noiseless. The buffet breakfast was good, but with no hot food except boiled eggs. Great croissants (eat your heart out, Paris). When weather permits, which it did our entire stay, breakfast is served in a nice courtyard. Given the options in Venice, one of the priciest cities we've visited, Hotel Al Sole is a good choice for the cost-conscious traveler.

I was really please with this hotel. The room is big and clean. People working the front counter are very nice. The breakfast is excellent and there is a huge selection. It may not be as central as I would have like to be in Venice but I would definately stay there again.

Great hotel, convenientely located, excellent breakfast and friendly staff. Beautifully restored historic building. My husband and I had a great stay at Al Sole hotel. Santa Lucia train station and Piazzale Roma bus terminal are 2 minutes walking from the hotel, as well as the vaporetto stop.

We weren't sure what to expect, coming from a 4-star in Rome to this 3-star in expensive Venice. After making our way on foot from the train station, as all Venice travellers do, we arrived at the Hotel Al Sole sweaty and cranky. Service: Linda at the front desk service should be mentioned by name, as she was most helpful and quickly checked us in. She provided an excellent recommendation for dinner and also hooked us up with a (astonishinly expensive but...) private taxi ride to the Piazza San Marco. I was expecting staff to push boat rides to Murano but no one mentioned it and we were glad for that, as we didn't really have time or interest to take that trip. The private taxi driver was great - boat was gorgeous and we enjoyed prosecco as we make our way down the Grand Canal to the Piazza. Rooms: Rooms were a decent size and typically European stark (a bit of a transition for those in my family who are travelling for the first time - this was not the hilton!). They gave us a complimentary upgrade to garden view, which was fine. Bed covers and towels were threadbare. Mini-bar contained only 2 waters and 2 sodas - no wine or other refreshments. Bathroom was a decent size but the shower was terrible and water leaked all over the floor, hair dryer was from the 1950's and completely worthless. Wifi: was an issue. There is a 12 euro charge for 20 hours of use that did not work at all in the room. We got it to work in the lobby but it was very spotty, and when I asked the front desk man to reset it, he did and I incurred another 12 euro charge, which he did not mention (I found it on the bill at checkout). Location: A good walk from a vaporetto stop, which is a challenge given the complexity of walking in Venice. Very difficult to find! We did like that it was off the Grand Canal craziness and in an area that was not very touristy. Complimentary breakfast was good and there is a lovely garden area to begin the day. Al Sole made us feel we were in Venice. The hotel has character and is perfectly situated on a quiet canal only 10 minutes from the bus station. There are quality shops and restaurants nearby. Service was excellent. and we were allowed to leave our luggage and return to await our evening flight home. The bedroom was small but very clean. Beds were firm and the shower wonderfully fierce. The lift was welcome after a day's sightseeing. Breakfast is eaten in the beautiful vine covered courtyard and the buffet offers plenty of choice. The hairdryer was rather feeble but adequate for a three day stay. As two 'seniors' we'd thoroughly recommend it.

We were very pleased with the location, the cleanliness, and the service at the hotel. The breakfast buffet was excellent, catering for all tastes, and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

I could not find or recommend a better place to stay in Venice for the money. Great outdoor garden for breakfast and very nice hotel personnel. It is the second time I have stayed there and I would stay there again. It is my choice in Venice!

空港からのバスが発着するローマ広場から徒歩5分程度の距離にあります。大きな荷物を持っておられると、運河を渡る階段を２、３度上り下りせねばなりませんが、それでも、いきなり水上バスで移動することを考えるとはるかに便利だと思います。 サンマルコ広場近辺よりも静かで、落ち着いた感じの街路で、ホテルの建物も歴史を感じさせるもので、雰囲気はとてもイイ感じです。 ひとつ難点を上げるならば、インターネット（ワイヤレス）のアクセスが非常に悪いということです。単に「遅い」だｋでなく、途中で「切断」されてしまうことも多く、フラストレーションがあるかもしれませんので、ビジネス向きではないかもしれません。 一般の観光目的であれば、素晴らしいホテルだと思います。

Ett jättebra hotel med supertrevlig och serviceinriktad personal. Frukosten var ok, varken jättebra eller dålig. Det absolut bästa med hotellet är dess läge, med utsikt över kanalerna och bara en kort promenad från Piazzale Roma! Ska man stanna till i Venedig och snabbt vill ta sig från bilen, båten eller tåget till hotellet rekommenderas detta varmt! Mycket prisvärt!

Wer hier meckert war noch nicht weit.

Hotel de bon niveau, très calme avec bon lit. Petit bémol : découverte le matin du 1er que le service de petit déjeuner commence à 8h30 au lieu de 7h30 comme d'habitude. Dur dur quand on a un avion à prendre ... Une petite info la veille aurait été appréciée. Mais en dehors de ce petit "bug" je recommande vivement.

Logés en chambre supérieure, le séjour fut très agréable. L'hôtel est bien situé, chambre et salle de bain sont confortables, petits déjeuners copieux, personnel à l'écoute. Dommage que la connexion wifi soit facturée en plus... Hôtel au charme un peu désuet qui sied bien à cette ville exceptionnelle !

Oppholdet her var helt topp. Hotellet ligger i en rolig del av byen. Kun 10 min å gå til buss stasjonen og vaporetto stasjonen. Praktisk å ta buss fra flyplassen til byen. Alt ligger også i gå avstand, bare ta på gode sko. Ellers er turen med vaparettoen ned hele Grand Canal en flott opplevelse, båt nr. 1. Den går litt saktere,og en får nyte turen mer. Frokosten på hotellet var også god. Når været er varmt kan en nyte frokosten på en koselig terrasse. Reiser gjerne tilbake hit. =o) Fornøyd turist fra Norge

Hotel très bien situé, peu éloigné de la gare routière et des parkings extérieurs de Venise, permettant d'accéder ensuite facilement à toutes les beautés de la ville. Service sympa, convivial et simple. Seul bémol: chambre peu isolée et bruyante ... surtout lorsque vous avez un couple d'italiens en voyage de noce à coté ;-) !!!

Hotelli oli hieman "sisämaassa" ja siksi kesti hetken löytää se... Hotelli sijaitsi mukavasti pienen kanaalin varrella. Henkilökunta oli erittäin ystävällistä, ja kutakuinkin saimme asiat hoidettua englanninkielellä. Huone oli pieni, perinteiseen italialaiseen tapaan sisustettu. Hotelli ei ollut hieno, mutta ihan ok majapaikka pariksi yöksi. Aamupala oli myös ihan ok; ainoa mitä puuttui, oli kurkku, tomaatti sekä juusto. Aamupala syötiin pienellä sisäpihalla. Ilmastointi toimi hyvin kesähelteillä. Lisäksi perushuoneessamme oli tallelokero. Ihan odotuksia vastaava hotelli. Jos haluaa tilavan huoneen tai vähän fiinimpää, ei välttämättä kannata tähän hotelliin mennä. ;)

Gangavstand fra buss sentralen i venizia samt båt taxi. Rolig beligenhet. Frokost i en nydelig hage.

Kommer gjerne tilbake. Sentralt og rolig område. Stedet og hotellet har sjel.

Hotellet ligger mysigt i dom bakre kvarteren nära parkerings huset (ca 7 min gång).

I gaa avstand fra holdeplass. Hyggelig betjening, rent og pent.
