Rates are reasonable but had a mix up on the bill between Hotels.com and Comfort Inn. Almost was charged twice. Hotel not easy to find. Lucky we had a GPS. The Complimentary breakfast was very nice.

We arrived at 3 pm our room was ready. Room was very clean. Had a Frig, Microwave & coffee pot. No coffee so I called the front desk and they immediately (within 3 minutes) were there with the coffee. Excellent service. The BREAKFAST was great. Not continental. I would stay here again and would advise everyone to use this hotel. The price was good and the service couldn't be better.

We checking in at about 3am and the front deck Rep Hector was soooo very nice.. Checked me in like 5min that was a plus would be coming back...

I booked the room and paid for it through this site, however when I gave them my credit card to hold for damage and incidentals they charged my credit card for the room AGAIN! It took over a week and several phone calls to even get in touch with a manager and then it was several more days before I got a refund. The customer service at this motel was awful!

We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the hotel and the helpfulness of the staff. They were willing to go the extra mile and appeared to be more than happy to do so. The continental breakfast was better than most in this price range. If we were going to Santa Cruz again we would not hesitate in staying there again

You can't beat the very heated swimming pool and hot hot hot jacuzzi!

This place was horrible. The staff there was rude. Said we should not complain because we paid the internet rate. They did not tell us about the construction going on. Woke up to hammers and saws at 8am. I have never been to such an unprofessional establishment. Would never go there again.

This is a quaint hotel that has great personality. The breakfast was large, sporting sasuage and biscuits and gravy, but it did not taste very good. The sausage was cold, and the gravy and biscuits were VERY salty. The wifi and cell signals were good. They had laundry facilities there as well. As we were eating breakfast and again while doing laundry, we met a man that was very odd. He was agitated and was ranting about various things and was using foul language. He stated that he visited this hotel every year, and the staff did not react to his being there, as if he had been there before. The only regret we have about visiting here is that we came in the fall and the pool was closed.

i would have liked pay per view to see a newer movie

men next room to us next door was very noisy. had to complain. they partied till 2:30am. they were rude and loud, they vomit in the halls. they cussed all night. i have two children with me and it was very unpleasant stay. an unrest full night and ...may never return.

This motel stay was one of my worst ever! The bathroom was partially unpainted, remote control didn't work, comforter was filthy, but most importantly the service was awful!!! Rude employees and inconsistency between reservations and actual charges. We did not have a roll a way bed as arranged and when we ask at office we were told we could have one if we could carry it to our room ourselves! Although the location is central to attractions, next time i will travel more distance for better accommodations and service!!

The web site makes you think it is a recently built motel but in reality, it is an 80's vintage place. It has had a few little upgrades in the bathrooms but nothing more. The lighting in the rooms is terrible (not where you need it and in the case of the bathroom, linked to the exhaust fan, which roared as though a bag of marbles was flapping around in it along with the fan blades.). The rooms had that "motel smell"...you know, a mix of room deodorant and bathroom cleanser. The refrigerator froze our water bottles. The complimentary breakfast had only highly sugared choices. The bananas were so green they were inedible.

Only saw 2 star rating when I booked online,But the price was there.Room was clean, didn't smell Parking was good,room was quiet even tho it was close to traffic. Bed was not a sponge, where you sink into the soft spot.

We really enjoyed our stay. Close to everything. Our grandaughters first vacation. She rated the pool a 10, bounciness of the bed a 10, Breakfast a 10. It was her vacation for 4th birthday, she liked the Hotel better then the boardwalk! We will stay there again next year.

Only stayed one night. Good location just off the highway. Nice pool area wih spa. Dennys is just opposite, and the hotel provided a good selection for breakfast.

Hotel is very very worn. Air conditioner in room had smell of burning wires and then quit working. The pool was very dirty, dark stains on tile of pool.

i would stay again.manger not very nice,but one person doest speask for all who work there steve was nice when we checked in.

This Comfort Inn is conveniently located w/r restaurants, freeways, and the UC Santa Cruz campus. It is well kept and the managers are friendly. They serve a standard breakjfast: fruit, cereal, milk, coffee, pastries. I recommend the place.

Was outdated in style, but kept very clean and the service was as good or better as any of the more expensive hotels in the area.... the continental breakfast had a good variety of foods so everyone in the family could eat something before we ventured out for the day. I will stay here again!

I had a great stay at the hotel,, the front desk was very nice, rooms where clean, walk to Dennys is a plus when your hungry...

We needed something safe, clean, comfortable and reasonably priced in Santa Cruz. The reviews on Hotel.com & price led us to this Comfort Inn which turned out to be very nice. We didn't care about being close to the beach, so we were able to get more quality without the high price of beachfront properties. Everything was in working order. Breakfast was a nice bonus and had a great variety. I would definetly stay again.

I like this hotel. The room was way better than what I expected.

Great price, very accommodating staff, great clean room. Free breakfast and newspaper, wifi. Pool and hottub. excellent freeway access and a straight shot to the wharf down Ocean St. The only thing that would be an improvement would be if it was down at the wharf. But then it would be a junk hotel, or twice the price. Thx jegan

Room was clean and quiet dispite being next to freeway on-ramp. Breakfast was OK, basically all carbos. There is a Dennys restaurant across the street for those who need more options. Would stay again.

just ok.. seemed clean though my daughter had bites on here legs next day.. fridge and microwave are great to have. but the walls are thin and the nite college kids consumed the parking lot partying and screaming and it was very loud all night. the owners should police this... also building has some system that turns on and hums and vibrates the whole building. it's like every room has thier fart fan on..... it wasawful. I was woke up all night by different things. I am planning on going to santa cruz to visit my daughter often over the next four years. I will not stay here again due to noise at night.

Place and room was sufficient for the purpose of our trip--we just needed a room to sleep in for an a.m. tour of UC Santa Cruz. It's an average 2-star place to stay. The front desk was helpful. She answered my question and printed the direction from the hotel to UC Santa Cruz.

The comfort inn at Santa Cruz was relatively comfortable if difficult to maneuver in and out of the parking area. The pillows were horrible, so much so I was tempted to purchase by own and donate. Very flat we both needed 3 each. The bathrooms had been updated and were ok as was the mattress itself. The hotel itself was directly off the main freeways there and that was good and bad. The parking is plentiful but coming in and out of the parking area can be challenging as there are many one way streets in the area. Everything was close by and if you go eat at the Santa Cruz diner just 2 blocks down. They have a very wide variety of selections for any taste.

We like to stay there because it is clean, decent and the price is right. It is not a luxury hotel, nor a new one, although they recently remodeled all the rooms. It has a pool, laundry room, free hi speed internet. Desk people are nice. Has a free breakfast, nothing special, but you can eat. We have stayed there several times and feel quite comfortable there.

I would recommend this comfort inn to people looking to visit the Santa Cruz area for the weekend. It is alot nicer to stay here then near the boardwalk. The rooms kept out a lot of the noise and the property had cameras to curb out of control partying and kids jamming 20 people into a room. Good place for the price.

Located on a tiny little one-way street- miss it one way, you have to go two more lights before you can u-turn, miss it the other way, you have to go around like, 4 city blocks. Staff is really micro-managing. "No overnight guests!" "No guests after 10!" "Only people registered at this hotel can be in pool!" I didn't have anyone else with me, but I still found this annoying. Walls were super thin. I got real familiar with the temper tantrums of the kid next door. Plus, I heard everything going on in the pool outside my room. Bed was not very comfortable, in fact it slouched quite a bit.

Very overpriced for the quality of the room. All rooms in Santa Cruz seem to be overpriced. For a very short drive the next two nights we stayed in Marina at the Ramada. Beautiful, large, clean and comfortable room for about half the price! They have tried to update and modernize an older building, but it could use some attention to details. Breakfast was okay...we've had better and worse.

Everything was above my expectation except the TV needed to be recoded and the instructions for internet indicated to use a cable, when instead there was WIFI needing a code.

The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. The other people staying were families vacationing. Easy to find and return to. Good breakfast choices. Nice town to visit.

I stayed there only one night, so I cant tell much about the area and conveniences., The room wasnt bad, what you can expect with these Indian family owned motels. It was cleaner than most of the motels in this class.

Nice, efficient mgrs. Well kept up. Close to downtown. Reasonably priced. Quiet. Everything in working order.
