I expected a little bit more than we received. When booked we asked for the club suite which was the next to the best, however, it was not. The room was very clean but a bit outdated! The bathroom needs a lot of help!! And when I see continental breakfast you would expect just a bit more than coffee, orange juice, toast, muffins or danish and fruit. All of the staff was very nice and helpful! The pool is another item, I really hope that adults don't want to swim in it! Two strokes and we are on the other side, but perfect for two or three kids!

The hotel staff was so pleasant and helpful. We were surprised at the continental breakfast in the morning. The hotel is really dated, (VHS and cassette players with Bose speakers built in) but it was clean and just fine for our stay. Bed was comfy and jacuzzi tub really great. Just a short 3 block walk to the beach!

Not what i was expecting for a three star hotel.

The staff goes out of their way to make everyone feel at home. You cant beat their location and rates.

Great. I often stay at this hotel. Had problem checking in with new, young , dark haired girl at front desk and later getting WiFi to work in my room. She seemed to have an ATTITUDE. Kept giving me misinformation, Hotel has great location, reasonable rates, clean and usually friendly.

Beautiful bathroom; comfortable room. Everything there we needed except a microwave. Was amazed at how close we were to everything....great eating places (especially Eggs and Things), easy walk to beach and our favorite bar in the Shorebird. For our first trip to Hawaii, Oahu, we had an exceptionally great time. Anxious to save our money to go back again if hotels don't price us out of the opportunity. Hotels.com proved to be a perfect site to shop!

Good location.....but hotel is very "tired" and needs some work. Staff was very good. Cont. breakfast was "marginal".

The hotel may be in need of refurbishing but the rooms are large and the staff very nice. Someone came up to my room at 4am to show me how to work the DVD player. We had a red eye flight back home and check out of our room at noon. We wanted to come back to Waikiki for dinner and asked how much it would be to park at the hotel for a couple of hours. They let us park for free. Very rare in Honolulu, to park for free.

This place was a great price within just a couple minutes of the beach. This was our first time at Waikiki and didn't know what to expect. If you want some good local flavor, I don't recommend the area. Its TONS of tourists and shopping. The hotel wasn't terribly nice, but we didn't plan on spending a lot of time there except for sleeping so it met our needs just fine, and the staff was super friendly and helpful.

Being a native islander I have passed this boutique hotel often and was intrigued as to the quality of rooms and the jacuzzy bathtubs and the location is perfect for those who enjoy the nightlife in Waikiki

The hotel was very nice. The hotel staff were extremely nice. The Continental breakfast was a bit lacking. I would definitely go there again.

Everything was fine but during the stay construction work got under way just opposite so the digger was going at 0800h. Not the Joy's fault. The hotel is really very well situated for a short stroll to Wikiki beach and the shops.

Great Value - Older property but great location. We were "upgraded" to a different room which was large, but dated.

Beds uncomfortable but close and convenient location. Clean room.

Street noise is much too loud, goes all night long, and the 'ammenities' fee is just rip off

The hotel staff were very nice and accomodating. The breakfast was just so so, expected Papaya there was none and they didn't have bananas either. The mufins were okay, bread was pretty white. The noise from the music they played all night was not acceptable. Also had loud street noise, so ask for an inside room. Our last night included a very loud shouting match outside between our hotel and next building, individual yelling obsenities and police were called. Individual sent to hospital. Glad we were leaving. Won't stay there again even though it was reasonably priced.

The location is good - close to Kuhio for bus/trolley transport, 5-10 mins walk to Waikiki beach, plenty of restaurants & shopping choices. Rooms are comfortable, but need to close windows at night to shut out noise if on Lewers St side of building. Good value compared to up-market hotels just a block or two away, if having a view is not important. A couple of small improvements would make this a really good place to stay: - there is no wi-fi, and in-room internet is expensive - breakfast is basic & a few extras like cereals & yoghurt would be appreciated.

Stayed for one night making last minute reservation. Good location right off the main street from the shopping. Two blocks to the beach. Friendly staff, old facility that has been somewhat renovated but still dated. Add $10"resort" fee to the quoted price. Also $19 parking fee if you bring a car. You get what you pay for with this hotel. No frills but reasonably quiet.

The hotel is very close to the main strip but still very quiet. The continental breakfast was great and there is a little pool to cool off in. Everyone at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. Loved the jacuzzi tub in our room! Bed was a little too firm but still just fine. Internet is $10 per day but if you get a balcony facing the Starbucks you get free wifi on the balcony. Close to the beach! Overall very good!

Although the hotel was in a very good location for beach, shopping and restaurants the fact it was close to two Irish pubs meant it was very noisy late at night and affected our ability to a good night's rest.

Front Desk staffs are not approachable and unfriendly.They act like they don't want to be there and not very helpful with my questions and concerns. . They rather socialize among themselves than to help their guest.

My prepaid receipt said PAID IN FULL. But NOT. This is one of those hotels that tacks on a 'Resort" fee, you are informed about when you check in. I think Hotels .com should inform customers about these hotels ahead of time. Also, the restaurant bar next door had a Band on Sat. night that was so loud that the entire street was overwhelmed till they finished at 12:30

We loved it....we were pleasantly surprised and the staff at the hotel is very accomodating and very friendly.. There's a little pond w turtles and koi(carp)..location is walking distance to beach and in the heart of Waikiki... we are definitely going to stay there again!!!

this hotel right in the city of waikiki, room was spacious and plesant, very clean with balcony, view of city, arrived on an early flight and was able to have the room immediatly with an upgrade for a little extra. very reasonable . bathroom was huge and spotless. staff were very friendly and helpful. european breakfast was great with fruit, cakes, tea coffee and juices. great value and big saving by booking with hotels.com

Waikiki Joy was in a great location, close to all kinds of shopping. The First Morning we had ants and they came to take care of it right away. They were working in the hotel so every day there was drilling, the breakfast was not much to boost about. Just toast and fruit.... Otherwise a good hotel for the price.

Very nice hotel, good location, plenty of shops around, nice place to stay. Everyone was friendly and helpful.

Great location 1 block from other hotels that charge $300 a night. A way to stay there and afford other great Hawaiian treats

As others have commented the hotel is older but the beds were very comfy and the staff were friendly and helpful. Take advantage of the toasters and buy your own multigrain bread and peanut butter. It was nice to sit in the coutyard drinking fresh coffee, cold juices, eating pineapple and listening to the birds rather than a busy restaurant!

We loved the location and the people at the Aston Waikiki Joy. The room was very nice size and the bed quite comfy and the sheets were crisp n clean. But...it could use a LOT of refreshing and better cleaning. The walls, floors, furniture were very dirty in appearance and I had to literally wipe down the phone with an antiseptic wipe. As long as I kept my shoes on I didn't worry about the floors. The pool is very small. You can see how beautiful this hotel once was and could be again. Staff was great! Knowing what we know now, we would stay again, if we couldn't find another reasonably priced hotel.

When checking in all went well.But in the morning when asking at the desk about site to visit they weren't very helpful just said that there were brochures over there just help yourself to them, Plus when checking out the bellboy came to the waiting area said our shuttle was here with no offering of taking our bags to shuttle so was not impressed about the service.

My cousin and I really enjoyed are stay. We liked the location because it was only a block from our seminar that we attended at the Embassy Hotel for 3 days. We enjoyed the continental breakfasts. Our room was very roomy. Our porter Mike was super. We also had a great deal.

Rude person at front desk Melissa. Extremely bad mannered and in a bad mood Stayed in this hotel 10 years ago. No maintenance or upgrading has been carried out in rooms since. The hotel rate is high for what you get. Breakfast was a joke - not even cereal was offered Never return. Moved to Courtyard Marriott. one block away. I was greeted warmly and stayed in a renovated , clean up to date room Will return to the Marriott

Excellent location, litle bit noisy at night if you left balcony door open. Good value for money, very friendly and helpful staff.

hotel is very clean, central,bit noisy for sleeping at night as traffic very busy day and night,also breakfast could be improved a bit, otherwise we enjoyed our stay very much...

Wonderful staff, wonderful service. Regular room saved lots of money and was MORE than adequate! We stayed on the 4th floor facing Lewers (Street in front of the hotel) and the heavy duty doors and windows did a fantastic job at keeping the noise at bay. Our favorite hotel feature was LOCATION! For the 20's - 40's age group, the hotel is located near to all the best pubs-n-clubs! For shopping, well, you're in the jist of it! The beach was 8 minutes by foot... Overall, we loved our stay there!
