Holiday Inn Express San Diego Airport - Old Town - سان دييجو

Nice and clean except the location. it's right next to the highway. Very noisy during the night.

I stayed for one night only before flying back home. Reception staff were friendly, however an error was made in taking my reservation for the shuttle the following day at 5:00 a.m. It would mean taking a taxi instead of the free shuttle. When I went down the next morning there had been a cancellation and even though I was the only passenger going to the airport at that time the Receptionist called the driver and I was taken quickly and efficiently to the airport. Made my day!

I stayed there one night for an early morning flight. The hotel and staff were nice. I had a room facing away from the highway and it was very quiet. They have an outdoor patio and pool area, but I don't see the point- it's so incredible loud out there because the highway is literally next to the hotel, so it's not exactly relaxing. It's in walking distance to Old Town, which I enjoyed. Can't comment on the breakfast since I left too early for my flight to try it. One note about the shuttle service- make sure you double check on the times. I was told the shuttle runs to Balboa Park/the zoo, but they never told me that it leaves at 9:30 am only and returns at 4:30 pm only. I was upset about this when I arrived at noon for check-in, but they did send the shuttle there as a favor to me, which I appreciated. So if you want to take the shuttle anywhere specific, make sure you inquire about the times.

This hotel was good. The location is perfect if you decide to stay close to the airport. The staff is nice and the breakfast acceptable.

Room was clean; bed comfortable and bathroom clean and spacious; shower was strong and water was nice and hot. Plus - free parking, free airport shuttle service and free hot breakfast. Staff very welcoming too.

They have good breakfast.

Even though my family and I stayed for only one night, it was an enjoyable experience. The complimentary breakfast was more than I expected. It was delicious and so much food.

The hotel was just fine. What made my stay special was the highly professional and friendly staff.

Very nice and professional staff! Not far from Sea World. Breakfast was pretty good too!

Only spend one day but hotel was very clean and personel was very nice and helpful. Only thing we did not like was that it is so close to the highway and our room was on highway side so you could hear the cars all night long.

The staff was absolutely wonderful! They helped me find a supermarket and the shuttle driver drove me over to it even though it wasn't in their normal route! Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I requested a room away from the freeway and had no issue with noise. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean.

I stayed here for vacation. All the staffs that I interacted with were very friendly and helpful. I could see that the employees were happy with their job.

We stayed here twice. Once on the way to Hawaii and again on the way back. The gentleman at the front desk was very courteous and efficient. Our room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and on the second stay they even opened for breakfast a few minutes early so we could grab something before jumping in the shuttle to the airport. I would stay here again.

This was located conveniently close to the airport. We had a very early flight, and were able to take the shuttle bus over. The driver was very friendly as was the hotel staff. Made our last night in San Diego very pleasant.

Close to transportation (rail, bus), restaurants. 10 minutes from downtown. Free breakfast was excellent. Pool was not exactly heated as advertised. Hot tub was clean and water temp was hot. Free shuttle to and from hotel to airport. Overall, a great experience!

The room was clean and quiet and the breakfast was good as any. The staff was really helpful and as a single female traveler, I felt safe and secure. Lots of families too which is always a good sign. I'd use them again.

Hotel was good overall. Underground parking was nice and secure. I hate when I have to look or pay for parking, so it was nice to have it easily accessible and free. Check in was easy, hotel accommodated requests of higher floor and one bed. Room was on the smaller side, but functional and clean. Style was a little contemporary. Better then i thought it was going to be. Breakfast was complimentary and contacted more selections then I thought. Biscuits and gravy, pancakes, etc.. Hotel is fairly close to all attractions. Was able to make it to local mall, Sea World, Old Town, Downtown/Gaslamp with just a short freeway ride and no more then 10mins. I would definitely stay here again.

This is another good example of the refurbishments that Holiday Inn has been doing to it's facilities. While pretty and well maintained, we noticed that there isn't much of a sound barrier between rooms and the halls can get noisy -- also, the Spa is a little out in the open - almost in the parking lot. Other than that, we will stay here again most likely on our next San Diego trip down from LA.

Hotel was very well situated to the airport & the car rental place. We were even offerred a ride from the car rental return back to the hotel. We were expecting to take a taxi back so that was very much appreciated. We would use this hotel again.

The Holiday Inn San Diego provided unparalled service. One of the best experiences I have had in any hotel and I usually stay in ones with more stars. It was very convenient and clean but the service was outstanding. We saved a lot of money when they collected us from and took us to the airport but they also took us to attractions and local sites completely free of charge. Would recommend them to anyone

The hotel was nice, close to the aiport. They apparently get a lot of people who stay overnight prior to flying out of San Diego on an early morning flight. Breakfast was fine, desk people were quite helpful. Room was fine.

overall this hotel was great. It is in the middle of everything and the staff is incredible. We actually ended up staying another night because we loved it so much.

Shuttle to and from the airport was nice but you have to schedule it and it only runs certain hours. We stayed on our way to and back from Maui and it wasn't bad at all. The only thing was the neighborhood its in was a little beat up. Would stay again.

Very close to airport and Oldtown. Although one-day stay, we loved this hotel. Only one tiny disadvantage is that this hotel is very close to highway, but never mind! The car noise is rarely bothering you... Sealed window effectively prevented noisy sound, I think...

The hotel was clean, new, cute, and comfortable. We were literally minutes away from everything we wanted to do: Old Town, Sea World, and the Gaslamp District. The neighborhood is a little weird, but there is a lot of security on everything in the hotel. Your room key is needed to get in anywhere. The parking is covered and under the hotel, there's a nice jacuzzi, and the breakfast is SO good! I was hesitant booking at first, but it was definitely worth it.

Location is great: near the airport, old town, and downtown. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great hotel for the price.

I had pretty low expectations of this place because the ratings before me did not look all that exciting. I wanted it because of the price, convenience to airport, and the free shuttle. Plus it is a chain so you can't go wrong in my eyes most of the time. I really LOVED this hotel. We got in very late and I called for the shuttle the moment I landed. We got to the place for pickup and our friendly driver was there waiting. We got to the hotel and the front desk gentleman was extremely welcoming. The lobby was also very nice and we strolled into the 24 hour gift shop/vending area and thought the selection was great. The breakfast was good and the coffee was good as well. Our room was clean and very comfortable. I didn't hear any noise at all from the highway that people wrote about. I could see the highway but didn't hear it. We had to leave at 5am the next morning and the front desk even called us at like 5 minutes until 5 to make sure we were still coming for our shuttle. :) I would DEFINITELY go back here and stay. Very well kept hotel and I travel a lot. Perfect for the value. I recommend it highly.

This recently renovated hotel is perfect for anyone wishing to stay in a reasonably priced, clean establishment. Very convenient location, with underground parking facilities. Very nice!

We were pleasantly surprised with our stay at this hotel. It's in an odd location, but an easy few block walk to Old Town and very close to highways to access downtown and the beaches. Our one complaint was the spa was overly-chlorinated to the point our skin itched for 2 days afterwards. We only went in that one time because it made us so uncomfortable. Overall a great value!

Grea Hotel, friendly and they have a shuttle that takes you to Old Town, Airport etc. Friendly staff.

Staff was extremely helpful at check in. Something had gone wrong with our air conditioner while we were out and maintanence was at our door to fix it almost as soon as we hung up the phone. Room was clean and comfortable. My only complaint was ease of getting a luggage cart from our room (It was in a separate building with steps leading down).

This deserves a 3-4* in terms of service and facilities. Front desk were really nice, letting us check in at 10.30am as we were early. Wifi was really fast The hotel has undergone a $2milion or so renovation so room and everything is new. Free snacks/breakfast Lovely receptionist And free shuttle to airport and other places. Very impressive.

Holiday Inn Express in Old Town is very good value for money. Free breakfast with good choices, free wifi that was very quick and reliable, free shuttle to the zoo and other attractions, a pool, jacuzi, and a convenience store in the lobby that is open 24 hours. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. We walked into Old Town from the hotel, but it took about 20-25 minutes, so don't go in heels! The expressway is right next to the hotel, but the noise wasn't a problem in our room. Ask for a room away from the expressway. The shuttle to the zoo got us there at 10am and picked us up at 4:30 - which was a perfect amount of time to see everything. The only thing I didn't like was when I asked the front desk to call us a taxi to take us to the GasLamp district, they called someone named Nick who they seem to have a contract with. We waited ages for him to show up and he had other people in his van going to the airport. He charges a flat rate - no meter running - but we forgot to ask him how much before we got in. He charged us $16 to go 10 minutes into town. We'd have been better off with a proper taxi. Ask for the rate before you go; or ask for a real taxi.

This hotel was good for me as I arrived late at night and left for meetings early in the morning. It is convenient to the airport and to the highway. There is highway noise if your room is on that side of the building. The breakfast was good and staff was helpful.

I loved this hotel. The staff was excellent, the free shuttle service took as to every destination on our list and the amenities are great. Highly recommend this hotel!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The location was fabulous. Every day we walked into the Old Town. From there we could catch the San Diego Trolley and the train. Plenty of places to eat and drink. The hotel was clean, excellent value for money and offered free internet. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.
