good stay very clean and convenient

Les Suites is a good value overall, but be prepared to sleep on a VERY ROCK HARD mattress or sofa. It's almost as if I slept on the floor. The pillows were also similar to rocks as well. There beds are nothing like the West-In. However, the hotel was clean and the service was good.

I have stayed here a few times. I asked for a complementary upgrade to a 2-bedroom suite since I was with my kids and was given this without question. Always nice when this happens. The staff were good, the parking was fine (and at $17/day, not too outrageiously priced). The kitchen had everything I needed. Lots of restaurants and bars nearby since it is on the parameter of the Byward Market. Even grocery stores within walking distance, so one can take full advantage of the kichen. Swimming pool is not exciting, but adequate. Basically it was good value for the money. Only complaint is the loud bar right across the street from the main entrance. I was on the 7th floor, and apparently this wasn't far enough away. Other than that, I had a nice stay and will stay there again. One of the better values (perhaps the best value) in Ottawa.

Nice hotel in the heart of downtown Ottawa. Very close to all the night life, restaurants and attractions. Having a full kitchen and dining area was convenient also.

This is a place I would recommend if bringing your family or sharing with several other people...2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms was very welcome with our gang of 5. It was a busy St. Patrick's Day weekend and my only complaint was our reserved room was already occupied, had to wait for another room with no offer of compensation.

From the moment we checked in at the desk we were treated extremely well. We were upgraded to a premiere suite since it was our anniversary and the manager brought chocolates to our suite. We were given a late check out too which was just lovely. Thank-you to the staff! We will definitely recommend your hotel to friends and family.

This hotel is in a great location and offers great value for the price. Suites are large and the kitchen is stocked with everything that you need. Fronk desk is very polite and helpful. Free internet is always a bonus but we did not use it. Free Parking would have been nice instead of $17/day.

My family and I arrived at 3h00 at the hotel and we were dealt with such efficient staffing and very cordial people. The young lady at the front desk upgraded my room and verified later if everything was OK! We got the personal touch, I WAS IMPRESSED! These two days were the best in a long stay of hotels during March break! I came home very relaxed! Thank you for a great stay!

I've stayed a many hotels in Ottawa and Les Suites hits the bottom of the list. This is my first bad review. The hotel allows pets so if you don't want to hear dogs barking all the time, I recommend you stay elsewhere. If you have allergies you definitely don't want to stay here. They don't separate the floors with pets!!! No rooms are pet specific so likely you'll get a room that has had animals in it. When I first checked in, I discovered black hairs all around the bathtub. Gross! I was staying at the hotel over the weekend and someone checked into the room across from me and left their pet locked in the room for the WHOLE day and for the entire day, when I was trying to work, all I could hear was a dog barking and whining. When I called the front desk to complain they said they would call me back but they didn't. I had to call down a second time and speak with the manager who said the only solution was for me to switch rooms because she couldn't reach the owner of the dog, and the dog was not registered with the hotel. So I moved rooms and ended up with a room that was extremely dusty. Again I called down to have someone dust the room, but even after a few days house keeping did not even dust the furniture. And I mean a thick layer of dust. The hotel is not sound proofed at all. I could hear banging doors, kids screaming, pounding above my room and barking dogs during my entire stay. The furniture is very worn and uncomfortable. The beds are hard and the pillows are terrible. The elevators are extremely slow so expect to wait. One positive is that the hotel has a good location right downtown, but the negatives seriously outweigh the positive.

Great location! Great for traveling with others all staying together in the suite.

Great location to take in Winterlude. Close to the canal, the Byward Market and Rideau Centre. We booked a 2 bedroom suite. The hotel had overbooked these suites so ahead of time let us know and offered us 2- 1 bedroom suites for the same price. It worked out even better (and the rooms were beside each other). The hotel is 70s-80s vintage, and not all updated. Our room was not updated but the couch and bed were comfortable. The kitchen appliances were old - we needed help to get the oven to work and the toaster didn't work so they sent us up a new one. The dishwasher was noisy. Overall, the service was excellent. We we asked for something it was looked after immediately. A great family spot to be able to eat in and relax in the living area without being cramped.

The elevators were few, slow and my husband even was stuck when one stopped between levels 5 & 6. However, when we got passed the elevator problems, the suites were a great place to have our family reunion!!

The staff at the reception are stupid, when at your room sleeping you can hear the outdoor noise, the staff are inexperienced but the rooms are nice and big. I wouldnt come to this hotel again due to the experience of the staff. The parking garage is too small and tight. Not really worth the money unless your going clubbing which is really nice because once you step outside you find the clubs in walking distance in a matter of minutes.

Les Suites Hotel Ottawa easy to get to get to in the center of Ottawa just steps from most of the major sites and attractions of the city. We always enjoy our stays at Les Suites.

helpful at 1st but very noisy area definatley no smoking anywhere after we were told smoking allowed on balcony then get 3 hr notice of power outage for 8 hrs which would have been a total inconvience

great location for a great price

Was not sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised to see how neat the rooms were and conveniently located the hotel is to amenities. Good value overall.

Parking is extra and the ceiling is low! Our SUV touched some of the low hanging ducts!! Stayed when it was Frosh week and could hear all the street noise. Easy walking distance to Parliament and easy access to HWY.

Les Suites was originally an apartment building and they have apparently kept all the apartments more or less as is. You'll find a full kitchen, a big bathroom, living room, and bedroom. It doesn't feel "hotel-like" at all. If you are traveling with a family, this is great. The apartment is also fairly well sound-proofed. There was a party of young people whooping it up down the hall. One we closed the door, we didn't hear them at all -- until they whooped it up in the hallway. The hotel is only blocks from Parliament Hill and very close to the Byway Market, which is great. The street itself isn't so great. However, we certainly did not feel in any way unsafe. We had other family members staying a few blocks away at the opulent Chateau Laurier. For twice the price, they got tiny rooms with no amenities, but a lovely, impressive lobby. I think we did much better.

A rather tired looking hotel; some of the desk staff were terrible (I'm looking at you Chris). The rooms are rather tired looking, but there's nothing wrong with them. The suites include a kitchen, but it is very tight with the crockery - you'll be fine for breakfast & a light lunch but don't expect to have what you need for a decent feed. It's in an ideal location for tourism between downtown & byward. All up, given the price I was happy with my stay there and would probably stay there again.

We have stayed at Les Suites many times due to convenience of its downtown location. This time, ended up in a room that needed some serious attention and updating . The dishwasher door was falling off, and the racks were rusty and did not slide very well. Sofa bed in living room needed replacement as back cushions were tearing away from the frame. Armchair seat cushion should have been replaced - was almost sitting on the floor when I sat down in that chair! Serice staff are very friendly and room was always clean. Would stay again, but hotel needs to get some rooms updated.

When visiting Ottawa Les Suites has much to offer visiting families. It is close to tourist sights, grocery supplles, the market bus transportation and has parking if you arrive by car. The suites offer a kitchenette for meals if you tire of eating out or are on a budget. The hotel has a lovely clean pool, a workout room and sauna when resting from touring. The only downside I found was that one block from the hotel we ran into drug use and begging which I did not like exposing the children to observing. The hotel itself was great.

The bed was really old and uncomfortable. The pillows were hard foam - like sleeping on a rock. How about investing in fitted sheets for the bottom of the bed? My feet were on the mattress at the foot of the bed and when I went to pull the sheet over I found out it was a flat sheet that didn't even fit. Two bad nights of sleep and I'd never stay there again.

Everything about my stay was great. Rooms were very nice and spacious. The pool and hot tub was great. And all the staff working there were very helpful and nice.

We enjoyed our stay in the hotel and i will like to visit again.

The hotel was in a very convenient location to tour Ottawa on foot. The suite was very clean and the service from the staff was excellent. The washer and dryer was a nice plus. I would gladly stay at this hotel again.

The bed and pillows were extremely uncomfortable

My wife and I found the room to be very comfortable and quite large. They were helpful, tried to accommodate us regarding the cost of parking which is expensive, by upgrading the room. They were prompt in responding to our evaluation of our stay. It was very centrally located in downtown Ottawa.

We really liked the size and conveniences of our room. The pool was adequate, but the gym was poor. Great location for walking everywhere in downtown Ottawa and Gatineau.

This hotel is a little dated and definitely a no frills but it was very clean. We liked having a kitchenette, i,e, having a fridge was great. The location is excellent as close to everything such as the Byward Market, galleries, Parliament Hill, etc. The hotel staff were curteous and very helpful. We were a little disappointed that there was not a restaurant although there is a cafe where one can purchase sandwiches, quich, drinks, etc. although we did not find the food particularly tasty. If you are used to staying at more high end hotels, this is not for you.

Hotel was great location, close to all the ammenities. We had a 1 bedroom tradition suite. The suite was great, but the bed in the bedroom was very hard and my spouse and I BOTH ended up with very bad backs from the 2 nights sleeping there. So bad that I have now been gone from there for 3 nights and I am still having troubles with my back from sleeping on that bed. I have not had any back problems for over 2 years, so this is not a good way to start a vacation. I also didn't like the fact that this hotel shares the pool area with an adjacent hotel. This is not stated anywhere on the website. Our overall experience was great with the exception of the bed problem. Great, clean and nice place!

The hotel is in a good location, short walk to the Parliament and the market place and to the kiosk for tours and to restaurants. I had booked for 2 people with hotels.com and when I told the desk clerk that we were 3 she wanted to charge me $25.00 extra for the third person. When I explained that I had discussed this with hotels.com she said that she would not charge me the extra money for the third person but she would have to speak to the manager. I don't understand why you would be charged for extra people when you rent a suite that sleeps 8. I did not book a room for one or two or three , I wanted a suite with a kitchen, living room, two bedrooms etc... I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to others.

This suite was very handy. We stayed here for 2 nights in the middle of a trip, and it was very handy to be able to do a little laundry and prepare a couple of meals in the suite. There was something confusing about the thermostats. We set the one in our room thinking it was A.C., but it was a heater. It took a while to figure that out. All the sites we wanted to see were within walking distance of the hotel.

Asked for a non-smoking room. Previous occupants had smoked.

I liked that the air conditionning system wasen't install in the bedroom, it made the bedroom area very quiet. l
