Pestana Rio Atlantica - ريو دي جانيرو

I stayed here after spending 4 nights in the JW Marriott down the street. That may be the first problem. This hotel just can not compare. Also they stated they were in the middle of a remodel, so there were stark differences in areas of the hotel.

The hotel put us in a smoking room when we specifically requested a non-smoking room. I believe the hotel was sold out and the next day they did seem happy to move us. The lobby of the hotel has obviously been remodeled and was beautiful but the hotel room need some attention. The carpet was old and dirty and the walls in several of the rooms were seriously scuffed. If you were going to stay at this hotel I would recommend specifically asking for the rooms without carpet.

Pool and lobby was great. Rooms were a bit older, with a musty smell. Location was fantastic. One thing -- a painting fell on my head in the middle of the night (3am). Obviously very scary in the middle of the night for a woman staying on her own in Rio. I reported it to the front desk and they offered me to extend my checkout time free of charge. Overall service was fine, highlight was the pool. Conditions of the room were definitely sub-par and disappointing.

My business partner and I had a two-day layover before continuing to Porto Alegre, so even in winter, Rio is fun. The hotel was clean, attractive & modern with excellent customer service. They helped us attend a Brazil A League match at Engenhao Stadium (a trip highlight). The restaurant was good to very good, with an excellent breakfast included in the package we chose. The rooftop bar (tended by Marcos) was comfortable and convenient, with snacks, drinks, pool access and a view from beside the pool of the Copacabana beach. Marcos was a top notch bartender, and introduced us to the wonders of Brazilian cocktails like caiprinhas and caipirissimas. Overall, next time I'm in Rio I'll have the Pestana near the top of my hotel list!

Amazing rooftop with nice size pool and a hot tub. I was in a room on the side with a small balcony, but facing another building so the room was kind of dark and no view unless you step out on the balcony. Nice breakfast buffet. Very friendly front desk staff.

O quarto em que fiquei hospedada não correspondeu ao valor da diária, tendo cortinas de plástico ao invés de box no chuveiro, cama de casal improvisada com a junção de duas de solteiro, entre outros itens que decepcionaram.

Achei um absurdo a cobrança da taxa de R$ 85,00 para uo da internet em plena Era global.Me desculpem, mas deve ser menor este valor e também as opções de frigobar são pouquissimas.

O hotel está velho,os móveis antigos,a limpeza do quarto um horror.No check-in não achavam minha reserva,ficaram me indagando quando e como havia feito minha reserva.O quarto era péssimo e a higiene dele deixava a desejar.Na manhã seguinte chegamos para tomar o café as 10:20 e a recepcionista antes de mais nada nos perguntou se tinhamos conhecimento de que o café da manhã era até as 10:30,..qual o problema?chegamos 10 minutos antes do fim!E uma vez dentro do café da manhã,quando mal havíamos sentado a mesa a mesma veio nos perguntar:vocês ainda irão se servir do buffet?E sem mais fecharam uma cortina onde havia a mesa do buffet...Como disse um hóspede que,assim como nós estava pasmo com a falta de respeito com a qual estava sendo tratado disse:se soubesse que este hotel que se diz ser 5 estrelas iria me tratar tão mal assim teria me hospedado em uma pensão,e tenho certeza de que lá teria tratamento 5 estrelas...Não recomendo a ninguém este hotel,invistam seu dinheiro em qualquer outro hotel de 2 estrelas e tenho certeza de que ficarão muito mais satisfeitos que eu.Ridículo o que fizeram com a gente.Uma amiga que também estava comigo em viagem teve que pedir para a camareira limpar novamente seu quarto no momento do check in,pois ainda haviam algumas "lembranças" deixadas pelo último hóspede,como por exemplo no banheiro,pelos intimos e urina...Uma VERGONHA!!

O valor cobrado é muito elevado para o nível de serviço.Não acho nada caro nem barato, tudo depende da entrega, e neste caso está desequilibrada.Costumo ficar mensalmente em outros hotéis da região a serviço e são mais baratos.Desta vez estava com a esposa e resolvi ficar num nível melhor.Minha surpresa foi que paguei o dobro e a qualidade é igual ou inferior ao hotel que me hospedo semanalmente.Além do mais o Hotel parecia um reduto de gringos cheios de prostitutas

Uma enorme desilusão. O valor está além do oferecido. O Quarto de doer, com esparadrapos ao redor do ar condicionado, minusculo e com um carpete extremamente velho. Uma pena!!! Os membros da recepção descohecem ser um hotel 5 estrelas e nem falar na ausencia de ar condicionado nos corredores entre os elevadores e os apartamentos, Decadente,
