The carpet was dirty, room was very small, walls were thin, you can hear the people going up and down on stairs and knok the door of next room. Booked a quadruple room but turn out a triple was provided. The staff were ok and helpful. Breakfast is good.

This hotel was hard to find. We walked past it twice. The staff were helpful enough but not overly friendly. The room wasn't a bad size but there was an unrequested single mattress in the floor which took up lots of space. The shower curtain was dirty and the decor not very attractive. It wasn't an awful place but I wouldn't stay there again.

Great hotel. Staff were very helpful. The rooms were clean and quite roomy, as there were four of us. Access to complimentary WIFI and a computer with a printer. Short walk to Gare du Nord and Gare de l'est. Grocery store and many good cafes nearby. Easy access to the rest of the city, with the train stations being so close by. The hotel is a little hard to find, as the "Rue des Petits Hotels" is only one block long. The hotel was just next to the "Marche St Quentin" and Rue Magenta. I'd definetely stay here again.

Ideal location for tube and Gare Du Nord. Quite a noisy location. Lots of sirens at night

I booked this hotel because being close to gare du nord was my highest concern. It takes 4 min to walk to the train station. The hotel is a great, well run, nice cold breakfast with cheese, ham, and hard boiled eggs. The room was medium size, good size bathroom and everthing was clean. Inspected for bedbugs and found nothing, the room was clean. This hotel was adequate and comfortable. Restaurants were all around. If the center of Paris is your destination, this may not be convenient. It would be a minimum of 15 min by metro.

Very convenient for the eurostar. 5 minutes walk from Gare Du Nord, and about 20 minutes walk into the centre (Les Halles). We asked for one of the refurbished rooms at the back of the building - which did us very well. Would definitely stay again.

The staff was very helpful. The location was a short walking distance between two metro stations, which allowed easy accessibility throughout central Paris. The matresses were old, the rooms were small and dingy, but clean (which is most important to me). There is a grocery store just a few doors down, which is a great option for breakfast, snacks, and water. The rooms were nothing to brag about but it is priced comparably low. So, if you are not knit-picky, I would recommend this hotel.

Great location. Short walk to train station. Room was very clean and comfortable. Room was located near very peaceful alley so there was no street noise. Great service and helpful with recommendations. Would definitely return and recommend to others!

Paris Est Lafayette is well located for arrival on train from CDG, near Gare du Nord. Also just a few minutes from a metro station that got me wherever I needed to go. Travel was made easy by helpful and pleasant woman at front desk. Room was fine for one person, though two would be crowded, but that is to be expected for such a reasonable price. Clean and bright hotel. Neighborhood is not posh but I didn't have problems as a single woman.

Good experience here on a mother/daughter visit to Paris. Location worked well for us: metro was not too far, we parked the car in the lot very close to the hotel, and the breakfast was fairly good. I would definitely go back!

After our Berlin hotel this one was a bit of let down, however having read most reviews on Paris accommodation it was pretty much as expected. At first look the room appeared 'dingy' - the decor could do with refreshing and up-dating but the bed was very comfortable; the bathroom was adequate plus there was a fridge and everthing was clean. The lift was tiny, but the stairs were large and quicker to use. Breakfast offered pretty much the same thing each day, but again it was plentiful and the staff were friendly. Lots of places nearby for eating at; metro very close and close to both Paris Est and Du Nord stations for Euro/Uk arrivals and departures. Rooms not so soundproofed but after a day of sightseeing a comfortable ensured a good nights sleep. First time we had the experience of having to hand your room key in each time you went out??but the system seemed to work and reception was 24/7 and again polite and helpful.

Pros: near Metro stations and Gare du Nord (CDG access), clean, and very nice staff! Cons: The room (double-bed) is not spacious, windows are not soundproof enough, rather far for walking to main attractions. The wifi in the room went down on Thu. and was not fixed for several days... We booked several days in advance, and were certainly happy with our choice.

It is very good to stay at this hotel. Too lucky. I certainly will come back. I have to say one thing, this hotel is very close to paris central railway station (gare du nord), but it is not too noisy. And a lot of shops are near here, you could reach food and good sweet in next traditional market. Also if you want to go to airport and any big city in france, this is also very good one night stay in paris, cause you could move easily in paris. As for hotel, the service is totally good, and they are friendly, in english, and the best part is i never spent such low price in paris hotel, with this quality. Room is not too small, compared to euro standard. And shower is hot. They even have a small refig. in the room, and room is with window and enough clean towel. What else you could expect? They also have escalater, it is not usual in old building in euro, so stay here, you wont be disappointed.

Loved this hotel! After reading other reviews we were prepared for either nice or rude hotel staff but found all staff to be helpful & friendly or at least accommodating. WiFi worked great for us in lobby & in room. Bkfst was 6euros if booked the night before & was plentiful & tasty. Only drawback was heat in room - asked two times for help & staff said they would send someone to check it but no one came. We opened windows facing center (off street) & it was quiet enough in our neighborhood to sleep w/windows open. Neighborhood felt safe enough (certainly not elegant area) & we were very close to 3 Metro stops. Would definitely choose this hotel again for price & location.

We were pleasantly surprised with the location & quality of the hotel & especially by the friendliness of the desk staff. After reading the reviews on Hotels.com & Trip Advisor we were prepared for rudeness but found both the day & evening clerks to be helpful & friendly (relatively - they are Parisians after all.) The hotel bkfst is 6Euros if booked in advance & was plentiful & good. The only real complaint we had was the heat in the room - it was hot throughout our whole Dec weekend stay & when I asked at the desk, they said they would send someone to help but never did. Luckily the windows opened & we were able to sleep comfortably in our room facing the inside of the hotel. It was quiet enough for us. Would recommend this hotel & would stay there again.

The room was very small but we did not spend much time in it so that was only a minor issue. The location of the hotel to one of the main train stations was great and we were able to walk to every major site except the Eiffel Tower from our hotel. The restaurant in the hotel was over priced so we did not eat there. There were so many other places to eat all within walking distance that we never ate at the same place twice.

Hotel was situated near the train station (Nord) so it was convenient and easy to walk to. Room was spacious for out needs and not overly priced. The area was quiet. Shame about the rather rude woman at reception who checked us in. Apart from her the other staff were very helpful.

As most know you don't get american style value for money anywhere in europe., but this was a reasonably-priced, centrally located little hotel. Room was clean, bigger than any room I ever paid an equivalent price for in London. Friendly staff who were happy to speak English when needed.

It was very close to Gare d'Nord however the area offered very little in shops or restaurants. The clerks were bored and seemed upset to be bothered with us. The room was okay but was rather drab. Our TV never worked and they just said it was new and hadn't been programmed. Overall, there are too many hotels to bother with this one.

This hotel was steps away from the train station and the metro. The hotel employees were nice and very friendly. The hotel was clean, however the bed covers looked like they were bought in 1980 from a thrift store. The bed sheets and towels were clean and newer. The rest of the hotel seemed to be fine. The hotel served the purpose but was nothing special. If you are looking for a convenient nice hotel at a nice price then this is the hotel for you. If you are looking for a hotel to hang out in then you may want to look at others, but who comes to Paris to hang out in a hotel, not me.

A very conveniently located hotel and with friendly staff. I've stayed at other of the hotels in this same street and I can tell this one was better in comparison in all aspects. I would recommend it if you are just stayimg for a couple of nights.

No bath but they do have good aircon. I think they own the Guinness World Record for tiniest elevator. For this prise tho everything seems overpriced.

This hotel was listed as a 3 star. I don't know how it could have gotten that. It was at best a 2 star. The room was old, the carpet was in bad condition. I will never stay there again.

This is a 3* hotel that does what it says... nothing special but great location to Gare du Nord and reasonably priced (for Paris). Do not expect any sort of luxuries, the hotel is old and carpets/furnishings worn but rooms were clean, quiet and a short 10min walk (with luggage) from Gare du Nord. Only complaint was that non-smoking room needed the windows opened on arrival as clearly people had been smoking. But there was a lift, so that evened things out! I would recommend if you're just looking for a bed to sleep - that's all.

The hotel is in a reasinably good area even though some corners smell of urine but it is the problem with Paris - it seems getting worse by the year. There are homeless people around and more than I can remember from previous trips. The hotel room is small but is nicely maintained, and the breakfast is very good. It represents reasonably good value. I would recommend it to friends.

Walking distance to Gare du Nord and the Metro. Front desk staff spoke English, breakfast buffet was sufficient.

Excellent hotel, friendly and helpful staff. Air con in room was very welcome. Breakfast very nice and plenty of it. Location was ideal, very close to Gare du Nord. We stayed in a triple room which was very spacious.

If you plan to go to Paris to visit the city, you need a good location, reasonable or above average comfort courtesy, and convenience. Paris Est is all of the above. Most folks arrive via Charles Degaulle and take the RER inton town, arriving at the Gare du Nord, luggage in hand. Leaving the station, Paris Est is less than a ten minute walk. The rooms are small but nearly everything in Paris is smaller than in the US, so no surprise here. The important thing is the staff is very helpful and friendly, a family atmosphere as it were, th lobby, breakfast area, adn rooms are impeccable, and the price is very reasonable. You can drop your things, take a nap to cure your jet lag, hop in the shower and you're off to see the sights using the RER/Metro at Gare du Nord as your home base. There is a loevely covered market and two convenience stores right next door, and a bucnch of brasseries.cafes across the street from the train station. Lastly, if you have two children traveling with you, Paris est is one of the very few hotels to have four-person rooms. That is what got us in the door and we were pleased by everything else.

Very good hotel only 600 metres from Gard du Nord. Would recommend.

Searched for a hotel for our family of 4 that wouldn't break the bank for our one night stay in Paris and found the Paris Est Lafayette. It was a great location coming in from Germany to the Est train station - just walked to the hotel a few blocks away. Had a room for 4 that included a separate bedroom with a double bed and 2 twins in the main room. Although it was small it met our needs and was clean. The staff let us store our bags when we arrived in the am and then stored them for us the next day till our evening departure. Very convenient to catch the metro right at the train station and go see all the sights. We didn't have the breakfast, there's a grocery store right around the corner where we picked up some croissants and rolls. Would certainly return to this hotel .

I was very impressed with L’Hotel Paris Est Lafayette. If one arrives in Paris by train at La Gare du Nord (North Station), you can walk to the hotel with your luggage in less than ten minutes. It’s probably 15 minutes’ walk from La Gare de L’Est (East Station). Please do not waste your euros on a taxi unless you are a large family with several suitcases. I was surprised just how close the hotel was to La Gare du Nord. For taking the Metro, guests have a choice of three stations, each within walking distance of the hotel. There’s a lovely grocery store three or four doors down from hotel, and there are many restaurants in close proximity (many situated closer to La Gare du Nord). The hotel has free wi-fi, which was incredibly convenient and helpful. I could make online bookings for day trips and sites around Paris from my laptop, and the hotel worked with me to print out my information. The rooms are small, but remember that you are traveling in Paris! Besides, you will probably only be in your room to sleep and prepare for the next day of exploring the beautiful, magnificent city of Paris. The rooms (which have air-conditioning!) are kept very clean on a daily basis, and the staff is very friendly. I enjoyed conversing with them in French, but if you do not know any French, almost everyone you encounter in the hotel is bilingual and can communicate well in English. Convenience is key, and Paris Est Lafayette is centrally located, with easy access to the Metro, fine cuisine, and grocery stores. I would stay there again on a return trip to Paris, and would recommend it to friends and family. Amusez-vous!

The hotel staff is not very friendly. We were promised free WIFI, but there was none. We could not access the WIFI from the room. The front desk did not help with that either. They are unfriendly and curt. Surrounding neighborhood is not the best, but it is a 5 - 7 min walk to Gare du Nord . Room was big and clean.

It was close to the metro and train to airport Staff was pleasant Breakfast was good and a variety of choices only negative was the 3 blocks late at night from metro was a little scary but better after seeing it in daylight Can see Eiffel tower from room windows exciting at night

i would like to say that i had the best time in paris and it was much better thanks to the staff of the hotel. People is very kind, the environment is familiar and it is a quite place. Thaks to all the people there who do their best for making their guests feel confortable. :D

The room was pretty spacious and very clean. We had all that we needed there. The rooms were quiet. The hotel staff was helpful and friendly. We had a lovely time at this hotel. The location was very convenient for us as we came to and from Paris through the Paris-Nord train station just 2 blocks from this hotel. The Metro station was pretty close as well so it was easy to get deeper into the city during the day.

This hotel in the 10th is straight out and down the street from Gare du Nord (it is around the corner from Gare de l'Est). An enclosed market anchors the Rue des Petits Hotels at the end of Rue St. Quentin. The hotel room is an acceptable space for a hotel in Paris and the hotel deserves its 3-stars. The breakfast is excellent and priced OK at 11 Euros/person. There is a flat screen TV, however, no English channels were evident. The neighborhood is OK although there appears to be more street people around than I remember. There are lots of restaurants in the are and it is worth going west to Rue St. Denis and the lower part of the 10th or even the eastern side of the 9th. Service is very kind and knowledgeable and there appears to be adequate security at night.d

The biggest issue was the staff at the desk. No one seemed to know what was going on. You would get a different answer from each clerk. The next issue was the computer in the lobby for guest use......useless! Couldn't even use it to print boarding passes. And if you could make a connection, it froze or gave you a page that said it couldn't connect. The room was fine. The breakfast bar was adequate and cheaper than the places on the street. Location was seedy.

Close to Gare Du Nord (3mins), this hotel is ideally suited for travellers arriving from CDG airport, the Eurostar from London or trains from Brussels, Amsterdam and farther afield. It's only a short hop away to Stade De France on the RER. Good restaurants and bars locally and approx 10mins travel time on the Metro to Ille de la Cite.

Comfortable and excellent location. Close walking distance (2 blocks) to the main Paris train station. Also walking distance to the Metro. Free use of the Internet. Small but overall comfortable room. The location was the best feature. Breakfast was not included with the room and the price for breakfast was not worth it. The hotel does have a lift (elevator), but it only fits 2 peopl with 2 bags or 3 people without bags.

We stayed for one night at the hotel, in transit from Paris to London. It is conveniently located. Rooms are small, but priced as one has to expect in Paris. What made our experience unpleasant was the failure to have any hot water in the morning. When I called to the Reception at 8.00 am to register my concern I was told apologetically that the plumbing would not be fixed until later in the morning. The receptionist later told me that he had no ability to offer a reduction to my wife and me because we had booked though hotels.com This kind of problem, which cannot be unusual, is one that hotels.com and hotels working with them need to sort out. If the hotel fails to provide expected services an immediate discount is in order, and the customer should not have to waste time filing a compliant with hotels.com - which puts the paperwork/e-work burden on the customer, and makes them less likely to follow up on a legitimate complaint.

I was looking for a hotel near the to Gare du Nord, as I was traveling on the Eurostar from London, with young kids. I was looking for a hotel that was clean, would accommodate a family of 4 in a single room. The hotel was rather hard to find initially, however once located, it was extremely convenient. We arrived in the morning and were staying only one night. We hoped to drop off our bags and go exploring for the day. It was a pleasant surprise to find that our room was already waiting for us at 10:30am. We were able to use the room to freshen after an early start in London. The neighbourhood seemed a little like a gheto, but many of the business were closed for the annual summer break. It would probably have been more lively. However, even walking back from the metro at night, I did not feel unsafe. The room was small but clean. The beds were comfortable. The shower had a good head of pressure. There was a small desk, chair and a closet and 3 beds; one double and 2 singles pushed together. There was also a tv and minibar, which we did not use. The few hotel employees that we met were friendly and understood both my bad french and english. Two doors down was a convenience store where we purchased water and soda. Breakfast was available, but at 10 Euros each, children half price, we decided that when in Paris, one should breakfast in a little cafe in the Latin Quarter. The metro station was about 10 mins walk. The following day, we checked out, and were able to leave our bags at the hotel for the day. We collected them on the way back to the Eurostar in the evening. So in summary, a small hidden clean hotel that I would use again.

I booked a quad room and was surprised that it was actually 2 mini (when I say mini, it really mean mini) rooms with 1 double bed and two twin beds. Nothing to complain as the price was reasonable. Hotel was also very close to Gare du Nord and Gare de Lest which was what we wanted as we arrived at Gare de Lest and left for London at Gare du Nord. It was also easily accessible to other parts.
