Helpful, polite staff. Small dorm style room was clean, modern. Quiet. Good attention to detail for the spartan traveler. Flat screen tv, cd player, wifi, ceiling fan. Room temperature was always correct. Never had to wait for shared bathroom/shower. Reasonably priced shuttle service offered so I skipped airport return on BART (MUNI/BARTstation around the corner @ Powell.) Great city transport access within a block. Hold onto your transfers and see the city cheaply by bus/train. Ride the retro F Line! A blast. Good property. I'd return. The only negative was the pathetic Eurotrance music in the lobby. I guess that's still hip?

I booked this hotel for its location, central close to shopping area and the price was afordable if we compare to others hotels at the same location. Rooms small but fine if you are travelling alone. The breackfast for my opinion inexistent, better will be to say that there is not breackfast include. The staff very friendly and kindness.

The staff couldn't have been nicer. I enjoyed the Friday wine tasting, a nice surprise, and the morning continental breakfast was a good start for the day. Thanks so much to the kind, patient, and very accommodating staff. I will definitely booking again for future trips!

The location of the hotel is great! The rooms are a little small with very little room for luggage but the location and price superseed the size.

The stay was ok. Room was compact. The room was nice but small. No bathroom in room. It was in the hallway. U did have a sink and mirror in the room. I had to upgrade to double bed so I can get my own bathroom. The hotel was clean and the service there was great. Everyone was helpful. It's a great location. Lots of store and kind of close to the pier.

It's in downtown San Francisco. Traffic was really loud and the window glasses had no capability of keeping the noises outside. Two rooms were seperated by doors but not walls. We could hear our neighbour talking clearly. The room (luxury twin) was small. Beds were small. There was no desk in the room. I'm so disappointed. This hotel doesn't match what it charges at all.

This is a small and older hotel but the location and service make up for any 'tiredness' in the building. The rooms are very clean and tidy and quiet. There's a little external noise but what else can you expect in such a buzzy city.

an upgrade to a private bathroom from a shared bath, very small. The bed seemed a little small to be a queen size but more of a double. Tiny flat screen T.V.. Off Site Valet . Called down for the car 25 minutes prior as requested. It took 45 minutes because they share valet service with other hotels and it was not the Hotels fault with the delay. Nice continental breakfast and polite staff. More of a Hostel feel than Hotel. Location was GREAT though. Close to Union Square and Market street and BART station. Food store around the corner with other places to eat as well. Has a nice antique quality to the place.

Hotel hotel was nice and, the room, although small, was well put together. The staff was very corteous and helpful, but we had some unpleasant surprises: one of the towels was full of hair, the ice tubs were very dirty (with no plastic bags) the bed sheets were torn - little details that make you wonder about the things you don't see. I would not come back.

Here are some of the advantages about staying at The Mosser: The front desk people go above and beyond necessary with their customer service. The valet (Joe) is a real nice guy and will help you out with your car and getting around in the City. Nish, at the front desk, is very helpful too with guests. This is NOT your typical hotel with snooty service and people who don't take care of your needs. This is a staff that care about you and welcome you into their establishment like you were entering their home. They have delicious coffee and muffins in the lobby every morning along with the local newspaper, San Francisco Chronicle. The hotel is located at 4th St. and Market St. so you are close enough to walk anywhere in the city. I parked my car and walked to the game at AT&T Park. So easy. I will definitely return to this location the next time I come to San Francisco.

Excellent location and the service is ok. Very small room and the breakfast was the same muffin all week.

I have stayed here before. The beauty of this place is that there are many options for accommodations. For example, you can take a single room and share a bath, or get a larger room with a private bath. The building is older but the rooms have been upgraded and are very modern. There is delicious coffee and muffins in the morning in the lobby. There are complimentary SF Chronicles on the front counter too. Another feature of this hotel is that they are located in a great spot. 4th and Market. You can easily walk anywhere in the city. I parked my car and walked to AT&T Park right down 4th St. and left on King. I also walked to North Beach and Nob Hill. No need for your car. The hotel staff are all very nice. Mr. Joe is a big Giants fan and he takes great care with your bags and your vehicle. He's a nice guy too! Nish, at the front desk is very helpful. While I was in the lobby having coffee and muffins on Saturday morning, he took a lot of time with visitors to San Francisco pointing out interesting attractions and giving directions to people. Very personable. You don't always get that in hotels. The young lady at the front desk is very nice too. I did not get her name but she was very helpful to me the day before I arrived advising me to check in early so that I would not miss the start of the Giants game at 1:00PM. All in all this is a great place to stay, it is affordable with options, it is centrally located, and has a great staff that care about the people that are staying there. One last thing; I did not mention the housekeeping staff. They were all very nice when I talked to them in the hallways or elevator. They are all doing a fantastic job! I will definitely stay here when I return to San Francisco.

The hotel and rooms have been remodeled within the decade and are clean and contemporary. The staff were great. The best rate around. Small, and some have to share a bathroom (I didn't). Great wi-fi. No coffee in room, but muffins and coffee in lobby in the a.m.. Great deal for the $.

My friend and I stayed in a very small room with two twin beds - and that was about all that was in the room, too small for much else! Also the sink in the bathroom (we did have our own bathroom) was literally the smallest sink I have ever seen. But aside from the size of the room/sink, all the usual amenities were there, it was nicely decorated and very clean. The coffee was also excellent - organic, fair trade french roast - so no need to make a starbucks run in the morning. Overall, if you are not planning to spend a whole lot of time in your hotel room, the Mosser is a perfectly good place to crash each night during your SF trip!

I like this hotel. The room I stayed in was very very very small but immaculately clean. The shared lavatory and bathroom down the hall were no problem to me. I appreciated the hotel's very good location (accessible to all kinds of transportation). The staff was helpful and cheerful. Some people would consider the neighborhood questionable, but this is San Francisco! You come here for the colorful street characters. This is part of the experience. If you are not spending much time in your hotel room, this hotel is an excellent option.

My boyfriend and I always stay here when we visit SF. The prices are competitive and hotel staff is very friendly and helpful.

I really love this hotel. I stayed here over spring break for 4 nights in San Francisco. The location is great, right off Union Square. The hotel staff was friendly. The rooms are small, and may not be right for everyone. You do also get some street noise because this hotel is in the heart of everything. That being said, it's quirky and unique and the price is great. Also, good fair trade coffee in the lobby in the morning. I am a fan.

The only thing I have to say negative is that the rooms are tiny, and the restroom is a community restroom. If you are ok with this then you will enjoy your stay.

I booked a single room at the Mosser, with shared bathroom online and from Australia. I expected it to be a little like backpacker accommodation, although, from the photos, it seemed a bit more up-scale. I only had two days to explore a slice of San Francisco, so I needed to be central. I had a great stay. The BART train from the airport delivered me within a 2-minute walk from the hotel. I arrived way too early, but the staff were more than helpful. As a matter of fact, the staff were incredibly friendly. I was connected to the WIFI and comfortable in a sofa in their gorgeous entrance foyer in no time, with a check-in much earlier than I expected. The room had an oversized and comfy single bed and the 'shared' shower and toilet never had traces of another person having been there. These amenities were also only a few steps from my room, which meant I rarely bumped into anyone - what I m trying to say is that it really wasn't an issue not having an ensuite bathroom. All in all, this is a great place for a lone traveler and certainly an extremely female friendly hotel and city.

The hotel is conveniently located in downtown San Francisco and it is easy to access via the BART system. My stay at The Mosser was very short, but I was very impressed with the cleanliness of my room and bathroom; I give a thumb up to the cleaning staff for its dedication in keeping the hotel neat. I had a great time in San Francisco and I will stay again at The Mosser.

My night at The Mosser was great. As soon as you walk in, its aesthetically pleasing, and the staff is very friendly. Probably what really stands out to me is how the rooms are so modern looking. Everything in the room I stayed looked like it was made very well thought out and cleverly designed. The rooms aren't as huge as some places but the hotel seemed to make the most of the space that was available. Another great thing is your right in the middle of downtown, the biggest social hub of San Francisco. Its a huge plus that every kind of public transportation is within a block. You can pretty much get anywhere pretty easily from there. All in all, my stay was great, everything was clean and contemporary, they have coffee downstairs in the morning if you dont feel like going to Denny's right around the corner, and for the price, I thought it was a bargain.

My stay was a short 4 days. I had no problem with my accommodations my room was small and clean, the bathroom was workable so what more do you need. The staff was very nice and available when needed.I would probably stay there again.

I was a little worried about the rooms with a shared bathroom, however in four nights of being in the hotel there was never a problem. I didn't have to wait at any time. The hotel was in good condition, my room had everything I needed and the location was perfect. I was in SF for a conference at the Moscone Center and I was there in a block and a half (right past a Starbucks). Market street was nearby, plenty of choice for food/shopping. I would stay here again.

Last time, I rented a room with a bath, and it was great. This time around, I decided to try the shared bath, and I have no complaints. The bathrooms were clean; there were two showers on my floor, and one men's and women's bathroom. Hotel was a little warm, but I like it a lot colder than everyone else on earth, and opening a window solved my problem.

The hotel was very nice and well decorated. The room was very little but cozy, clean and with a comfy bed. The only thing is that shower bath and toilette is shared, not bad at all but if u wanna take a shower u have to get out of the room.

This is a very convenient location for tourists since public transportation and Cable Cars are nearby. A big shopping mall with restaurants is around the corner. The rooms are small but nice enough if you need a comfortable place to spend the night. The only letdown was the breakfast which consisted of tiny muffins and coffee at the front desk. You might also want to look for more affordable garages near the hotel like Soma Grand Parking for example.

The Mosser is in a great location, great area of San Fran, close to major streets so it's easy to get transportation. The hotel rooms was the smallest I've ever been in, very little room around the bed. We got the hotel with the shared bathroom (to save money). Their was a shared toilet room and a shared shower room. Both were very clean, and was never in use when we wanted to use it. However, I would advice against getting the shared bathroom (for obvious reasons) as it just wasn't convenient to have to leave the room to shower and use the toilet every time. We did save money, but I didn't think it was really worth the inconvenience. So overall, great location, small rooms, good service, avoid the shared bathrooms. If you can get the hotel for a good price, I would recommend it.

The room was just a little too small to be called "comfortable" - I guess par for the course in SF. That said it was very clean and had a modern style. Staff were friendly enough. Brilliant location for what I wanted (dinner and drinks close to Union Square). You could do a lot worse than stay here.

Quaint, cozy, little gem off Market. Loved the unexpected amenities. We'd go back.

I booked a hotel room thinking I got a bargain. However, the room was with a shared bath which I had never seen in the US and only heard about in Europe and Asia. The fee for a room with a private bath brought the price to be about the same as the Marriott across the street. The room with a bath was acceptable but inferior to the Marriott at the same price.
