The hotel is dated and collection of buildings that are not on same floors so that even though you take an elevator to your floor your room will have narrow stairs to it.

the hotel was clean and comfortable. the information that you have to pay 4$ for 24h internet use on this site was wrong (4$ => 1 hour). Such wrong informations are disappointing and annoying. the personal was helpful and friendly.

I knew it would be a very basic hotel but our room had no window, the shower wasn't working well and the bed was just ok. these are the things I need in a hotel -- the rest of the time we were out in the city.

This hotel is in a great location, on the fringe of Kings Cross and within walking distance to the CBD. Kings Cross railway station is a 5 minute walk from the hotel and for anyone driving there is off site parking also a 5 minute walk away. The parking station offers discounted parking for hotel guests. The hotel is a little dated but the rooms are clean and the staff were excellent. We had a balcony room on the Macleay St side and it was quite noisy, not that it bothered us, but I would suggest you request a room on the other side of the hotel if traffic noise bothers you. No tea or coffee making facilities but there are lots of great restaurants, coffee shops and a major supermarket all within minutes from the hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that would like to stay somewhere close to the city and all its attractions and also the nightlife of Kings Cross. Rates are reasonable but it really is the location that makes this hotel great.

hotels in sydney are expensive so you expect poor value for money. the room was big with separate kitchen and good desk. the furnishings were very dated though, the bed not that comfortable and the linen old. my 2nd floor room had one tiny window which opened onto the air con vent, even in the middle of the day no light would get in...the window also only opened 10cm but there was no fresh air anyway, just air con exhaust. that made the room quite unpleasant to be in. the internet is also very expensive. if you want to stay in potts point it's good, but i was a bit disappointed with the area - darlinghurst is a better bet if you want inner-city suburb vibe.

No ramp from front entrance into the hotel. Bathroom fan not working, room very pokey and tv reception was bad except ABC, SBS and Channel 9. No toaster or microwave. Only a kettle and bar fridge.

The room next to the lift is very noise. The staff were very helpful in moving our room. Location was good.

I found that the cleaner did not do the vacumm, while we request for make up room. So we did not have a good and clean room, after the few days.

If you like a lot of stairs to get to your room, despite anelevator access and street noise all night long, because you want to be close to the night time entertainment then this is your place. Staff was very eficcient,, but the street noise did not diminish all night. I would not recommend it to my firends.

The room was fine, but small. Hallway overly airfreshened. I wouldn't want to spend much time there, but who cares because you're in Sydney!

The hotel is conveniently located (only about 5 minutes walk from kings cross station). Bus stop in front of hotel. Surrounded by many restaurants and cafes. A big super market (and liqueur shop) Woolworth is apposite the hotel. I initially had problems with TV reception, I switch it off and on and problem was solved!! There was no view from the window in my room (second floor). However, the room was clean, serviced regularly and very efficiently. Good air con in the room. Staff was friendly and helpful. I arrived earlier than check-in time and was offered to leave my languages at the reception which I did (many other people had done the same). Good value for money. I will definitely stay there again.

saved me from awful so called hotels at other end of street that I eventually had to leave as they were so awful.

Had an extremely comfortable stay, room clean, friendly staff and top location

There was blood on the bathroom wall and roaches in the hallway. Our room smelled like mold as it was next to the plant room(whatever that is). Our room was on the first floor next to alley. We were woken up every morning at 7am by trash trucks (including on New Years day). The hotel was in a very shaddy part of town and is more of a 1 and a half star hotel Not. A 3 Star Hotel. Upon check out we asked for help with our luggage as there were no elevators, they weren't able to help us as they had no extra help. This was the worst experinece of our lives. If you want to ruin your experience in Sydney then be sure to stay at this big dissapointment for a hotel.

We arrived later in the evening, if we had the chance to have changed to elsewhere we would have left. The bedroom was not clean, smelt dusty. the Air conditioning unit was hanging off the wall. The mattresses on the beds were very old and worn, very thin, at least the bedding appeared to be clean. Bathroom and kitchenette had been updated but not to a high standard. We appeared to be in a red light district therefore eating out locally we felt uncomfortable.

Hotel is a very nice and it has a good location. Not too near a centre but there is a many car rentals near hotel and also for a people who wants to walk and get to know to Sydney...

I have to say I paid for a 4 star price for a 2 star hotel. The room was nothing more then a full size bed with a bathroom. Barely enough room to manuver around. The location of the hotel was on the border line seedy to convient. Won't be stay here on my next trip to Sydney.

Unhelpful staff,no room service they couldnt even bring milk to my room when I wanted to make a cup of tea, they actaully say milk will; be ready for collection at the lobby....and the noise!!! the indian restaurant advertised on their website doesnt even exists! they were doing massive work at the back of the hotel and the construction would begin at 5 in the morning and last all day...couldnt get any sleep at all! for what they are charging,its not worth it...I wouldnt go back to this hotel!!!!!!!! when I tried to complaint abouty the noise at the staff at the reception they looked at me like I was demented!!!! they are obviously used to all the noise!!

Hotel is reasonably priced, no frills but clean and confortable, and conveniently located to public transportation and the Botanic gardens. Only complaint was the outside noise on Saturday night..

Overall stay was excellent, TV receiption not the best

The hotel was at the more residential and quieter end of Kings Cross. It is a reasonable but steep walk to Woolloomooloo where there are soe great places to eat. The room was basic even though we booked a premium room with balcony. The double bed was so short that my feet were hanging off the end and I am only 5'7''! The pipes in the bathroom intermitently vibrated loudly and sounded like a didgeridoo. The 'Signature Indian Restaurant' that is advertised has closed down.

Clean and get staff.

If you like a retro experience, from the days when hotels were pokey little places and felt like they were cobbled together from whatever random building existed there before them, you'll love the Devere Hotel. If, on the other hand, you're looking for a modern place to stay with things like vaguely comfortable beds, minibars, bathrooms large enough to turn around in, and walls made out of something thick enough to at least muddle the sounds from your surrounds, look elsewhere.

The hotel was not far from an adult entertainment area. However, it was conveient to mass transit and was itself clean and comfortable. It was certainly reasonably priced and well worth the price.

This hotel is quite close to Kings Cross station and although sometimes this neighbourhood gets a bad wrap, the hotel is placed in quite a nice location with restaurants close by. It's only a few train stops away from the main sights of Sydney and the staff will happily help you with any queries you may have. The bedrooms are clean and well maintained with plenty of space. I had a great stay at the Devere Hotel.

I only stayed for 1 night at the DeVere. The room was very adequate. Very clean and had what i required. Its only the level advertised but it was very satisfactory for me. The front rooms on the main Road would be noisy on a weekend night. Thanks.

good for the money

it is good for the money. you get what you paid for. Service not great. no free internet but concvenient location.

The hotel would have been OK for a budget accomodation but I payed well over AUD 100 per night for a single róom which was small and not very comfortable - that's too much

First time I stayed I got a budget single room. You really get what you pay for. It was tiny, dark and grubby. Second time I stayed I ended up in a superior room with a double and a single bed. Hotel could do with a lick of paint and the room wasn't the cleanest. Also the lack of hot water was a problem. Shower was tepid at most. Staff are helpful enough but two of the girls from my first stay were busier talking about their weekend than paying attention to me. Also room cleaners seem to start very early, I had a knock on my door at 9am to see if I wanted my room cleaned followed by constant hoovering. The area of Kings cross is a bit dodgy to say the least but once you get off the main street onto Macleay Street where the hotel is it's fine though I wouldn't recommend walking there at night. Honestly, if you're looking for comfort and cleanliness then I'd look elsewhere but if you are looking for convenience and price then this hotel would suit. definitely for someone on a budget but nothing to write home about.

Very clean, no frills, great location! $2 wash and $2 dry. I'd stay here again.

Hotellet ligger ok til, men rommene er veldig små. Man må omtrent inn på do for å kunne stå opp av senga. Ikke spesielt godt vedlikeholdt, men ok renhold. 3,5 stjerne er i allefall en for mye!! Internettforbindelsen er dyr og dårlig.

繁華街が近くて比較的タクシーも楽につかまります。部屋がすごく狭いので一人旅行で寝るだけだったら十分だと思います。フロントも比較的親切でした。

Huoneen lattian koolaus epäonnistunut. Lattiat notkuivat ja narisivat niin omissa kuin muissa huoneissa askeleiden alla ja se kuului huoneesta toiseen. Sisäilma hieman tunkkainen. Ilmastointi oli, muttei auttanut paljokaan ilmanraikastamisessa. Kokolattiamatto ei kovin siisti. Ikkunaa ei saanut auki. Kylpyhuone oli siisti ja hyvin varusteltu. Lakanat vaihdettiin ja muutekin huoneen varustelusta huolehditiin hyvin. Hotelli oli rauhallinen, eikä kadulta kuulunut paljokaan ääntä. Keskustaan n. puolen tunnin kävelymatka, juna asema ja bussipysäkki lähellä hotellia.
