This hotel is ideally located to enjoy Toronto. Handy access to the subway, major shopping malls and other venues. The hotel needs a bit of updating, but it's reflected in the price. Overall service was good, staff very friendly and helpful. This hotel is equated to a no-frills hotel, but location is great and it's clean. If you have a large vehicle to park, the hotel parkade will not accommodate it as it was built for small cars and SUV's. Very tight corners!

A very tired room with treadbare carpeting and an old TV. It was pouring rain and I was very tired. I was hoping to have a nice relaxing evening in a comfortable hotel room. I had stayed there before but never had booked through Hotels,com. I think they saved the worst rooms for the online bookings. Staff was lovely.

The hotel staff were exellent, and did everything they could to make my stay as pleasant as possible. I stayed in a Single occupancy room, which was nice enough and average size. I had difficulties with their wireless internet signal, though the front desk was more than helpful, even arranging an alternate room with a stronger signal after all other efforts had failed. The Hotel itself is nothing spectacular, but the rate was very good and having stayed there, I feel it was a more than fair price, especially for the quality of service.

Whilst conveniently located to, for instance, the AGO and THE FOUR SEASONS, we found the parking to be expensive and inconveniently situated. An almost four - star hotel should have more than three tissues in the Kleenex box and coffee packets and cups, albeit paper, readily available without a guest's having to call room service. Certainly, small nuisances BUT....

We got a GREAT deal on this hotel, otherwise we wouldn't have stayed here. The hotel itself is located right in downtown Toronto. Our room, on the 20th floor, looked directly at the CN Tower, which was only a few kilometers away. The room was a bit on the small side, but lacked no comforts. The bed was comfortable and the bedding was fabulous. The pool and hot tub were deserted and were nicely maintained. I could tell that the hotel needed some sort of a facelift, but was fantastic as is too. The breakfast was quite great, compared to most breakfasts.

Excellent location. Check in and out were done fast, even though it was new years eve. Front desk and other staff were helpful. If parking is full at the hotel, there is a lot right next to it and its cheaper, but no in & out. The room was ok, the furniture and tv are dated, as well as the outside the corridors. Need new wallpaper, carpet, paint. Great location, lots of things to see and do nearby. But it does need to be updated.

When we put based the room it said there was a DVD player... There was not. They didn't even have one to bring to the room. There was no hot water in the morning around 11am. Web we left to go shopping we came back and the maid turned on our air conditioning.... It was January. The air was so dry we were sniffling the whole stay. Sounds fun huh.

The hotel itself is great and the staff are helpful and prompt at responding to guest requests. The rooms themselves are okay, but the more "standard" rooms need updating. The bathroom in my room had both towel racks falling out of the wall, the tiles and toilet were stained with rust, and the spout for water in the bathtub practically fell off completely when switching to the shower head.

The hotel itself was generally unexceptional. Just wanted to say to be careful at check-out - I was charged for parking although it was included in my reservation. The person at front desk even said that "parking is never included" in an online reservation. To the hotel's credit, they did reverse the charge after I forwarded them the e-mail reservation which showed that parking was included.

We had a good stay in this hotel. The service was excellent and the location was great. The only problem I had was that our room was right next to the elevator and things were a little noisy overnight. I would recommend.

Convenient location. Clean. Can be noisy if the helicopter from sick kids arrives.

The hotel was in a great location, The lobby was lovely, the staff was friendly, the room was clean. The decor of the room was dated but homey. My biggest complaint was that the walls were thin and it was hard to sleep because every time someone entered their room the door made an awful clunk and woke me up. Additionally the room was very hot and I couldn't find anyway to control it other than opening the window. If you are going to park under the hotel do so with care. It is very hard to navigate safely, with sharp corners, blind spots and two way traffic. On the plus side, the elevator landed me right by the front desk. Cost was around $21, which is mid-range for the area.

I have stayed here several times. Some of the rooms are very fresh appearing but many rooms still look tired. The parking is very reasonable for Toronto. This is a good clean neighbourhood where you are very safe except for the politicians at City Hall. Their restaurants are very good.

we have been staying at the Metropolitan Hotel everytime we are in Toronto, the location of the hotel to all the downtown events& shopping, makes the stay worthwhile. Staff is especially cordial and helpful...

The Metropolitian Hotel is worth a look anytime you visit Toronto.

The Metropolitan is wonderful! My boyfriend and I live just outside of Toronto so we always look for bargain prices when we want to stay in the city for a night. For the price, the hotel is excellent. The carpets could use an upgrade, but the rooms are clean, sheets are fresh, plenty of clean towels and the service is excellent.

Room was small, but clean and comfortable. The French Provincial decor is looking tired and the bathroom fixtures were pretty basic and dated, nothing fancy there. But, the linens and bedding were of nice quality and newer than anything else. Wifi was inconsistent at best. Hallways and rugs all looking like they need a facelift. Service at front-desk and lobby was fine, we were only there one evening. It looked like a pretty good deal for a Monday night downtown, but when you add the resort fee for the sketchy wifi, fitness room, business centre, etc, plus the parking fee and taxes it became less so.

The hotel was in a great location it felt like it was two blocks from everything. Great restaurant, has a clean pool/hot-tub, staff extremely friendly and helpful, bed comfy... But... Much of the hotel is in need of an update. The rooms are outdated (but clean). Pool and hot-tub seemed to be chugging along, but I'm not sure how much longer they will keep working, and the pool area was showing its age. I would definitely stay again, but not sure if I would recommend to others unless more work was done to "modernize" the hotel.

A great place to stay. Very reasonable rate for the room I was in, excellent restaurants in the hotel and an easy walk (or very short drive) to many more, as well as to major attractions like the AGO. Friendly helpful staff, neat and clean facilities. I plan to stay in the future if the same rates are available.

The room was smaller then we were used to, but it was clean, the service was excellent and we enjoyed our stay. Hard to find a restaurant for breakfast at a reasonable rate, however there is a great Market called Longos. We will definitely return. Many thanks to the staff! Doug and Linda B from Ottawa

Even before we arrived at the hotel staff was eager to help us have a really enjoyable stay. They were courteous and informative. They helped us to manage aditional fees that we might encounter on our trip in the best way possible. All staff were very courteous and friendly. Room was clean and worked out perfectly for our needs. Location was minutes to the Eaton Centre, Nathan Phillips Square and a short drive to the Exhibition Grounds where we attended the Royal Winter Fair. Very accessible.

I liked the hotel given the location and price. The room was smaller than the pictures really portrayed, though the bed was comfortable. The location was pretty decent, walking distance to everything you could ask for, though parking was very hard to find, as we got there for the check in time, and their parking lot was full. Given the positives, I'd stay there again, though would probably figure out a different place to park before hand given how small their underground lot is.

Hotel is located centrally downtown, short walk to most venues. Found the room to be very small and attempting to work on laptop on the desk provided was difficult to say the least. Had to remove all of the paper, magazines provided by the hotel (stacked on the floor) to get enough space to set up my laptop. The closet could hold an ironing board and a couple of items on hangers but nothing else so suitcase, and anything else had to be left out.

I'll be brief. The rooms are dark and outdated. The shields to the electrical outlets were pulled out and left on the floor. The bathtub grout had black mold. It needs some basic updates.

I must admit that this hotel seemed a bit more glamorous when reading about it online than actually seeing it in person. Although there are no gross problems, it was somewhat generic without the kids of amenities that I was expecting from the reviews. I visited friends at other hotels while in Toronto and found their rooms to have more and better amenities and upkeep. The Metropolitan is not bad, but it's not great either.

The big problem is rooms are divided by a flimsy door with no insulation. I got some noisy neighbors and the management refused to do anything about it. Eventually they sent security to talk to these guys. What was beautiful is that I could here the security guy telling them that the pain in the butt guest next door was complaining!

This hotel is expensive and it looks like one -- certainly inside the lobby. However, my room was way too small with no microwave or fridge. Breakfast was not included which was a great inconvenience. But it saved me a lot of time and commute due to its great location. Number of eateries surround the hotel and it is walking distance from many attractions in downtown Toronto.

Good downtown location, great value.

I was very pleased with this hotel. The room was clean, the staff was friendly and it served it's purpose. It's not the "swankiest" hotel out there but I wasn't in TO to hang out in my room! The bed was super comfortable however the TV in the room was quite small and the quality wasn't great but again, I wasn't in town to be in my room the whole time!

Not going to lie. Did not know what to expect. Considering bad experiences with other hotels...but really pleasantly suprised. :P
