Barcelo Nervion Hotel - بيلباو

This hotel was great for our stay in Bilbao, Spain. The location was very conveniently located near a local light rail stop. The service was efficient and friendly. The room was very comfortable and clean. The internet service was free in the lobby. I have only good things to say about this hotel.

Great proximity to between the Guggenheim and the Old Town. Each less than a 10 minute walk. Rooms are small but clean. Lobby bar is reasonably priced for breakfast.

reasonable price vs quality a good choice

The location could not have been better- right on the river and within a 10 minute walk to the Guggenheim, lots of resturants and cafes, and town square. The staff were rude and not helpful in assissting with tourist information. Our room had two twin beds which were pretty confortable. The TV only had a few English speaking news channels. We found that most people spoke Basque or Spanish, but very little English (we speak Spanish so it was ok for us).

Hotel is well situated for exploring Bilbao, particularly close to the old town, and just across the river (a footbridge and short stroll away) from the Guggenheim area. We stayed for 3 nights and had no quarrel with the size or presentation of the room - not glitzy but neutral. We were at the back of the hotel and it was incredibly quiet - even sleeping with the window open we could only hear the birds; no traffic noise at all. Note: we had no car with us, but noticed that the parking garage underneath the hotel was full for the duration of our visit. Wi-fi was free in the public areas of the hotel but access charged at 10 euros in the bedrooms. The only downside for us were the surly and generaaly unfriendly staff - both on the reception desk (less than helpful) and the bar staff. All our interactions away from the hotel suggested this was the exception that proved the rule - everyone else in Bilbao was welcoming and friendly!

Good location for Guggenheim and all central Bilbao, parking tricky or expensive, reception were sometimes a bit short, however our Spanish was limited

All in all good value for money: Excellent location close to everything of interest in the city. Staff is friendly but poor in english. Service is OK - though not on top: We tried to get help with at rental car, but that was totally impossible. The walls between rooms not very sound proof, and if you get noisy neighbors it might be very disturbing. Climate ok as long as you keep the AC running.

My husband and I were just in Bilbao to attend a family wedding. Since we would be in hotels for 9 days we looked for one with reasonable rates. We found the Barcelo Nervion to meet all of our needs. Firstly, the staff were very efficient and professional. The room was nicely furnished and always very clean. The area was lovely, within walking distance to nearly everywhere we needed to go. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and will stay there again, upon my return to Bilbao. .

we stayed here for 3 nights for a wedding in bilbao. great location just over the river from the main town, mins from the old town and Guggenheim museum. The hotel is well maintained and the rooms are of decent size. The ground floor is open plan with reception, bar, seating area and restaurant. Only negative point is that there are no windows and the marble tiled space is a little soulless / corporate.

Rooms are pretty old and sad looking. The carpet could definitely use an update and the flat bumpy pillow is due for a change. I understand you get what you pay for however we are staying at the Barcelo Avenida currently and it is a gem!

Friendly staff, clean comfortable rooms, great breakfast buffet for 10 euros, and very conveniently located in the city. Highly recommend.

The hotel is in a good position on the river but the room had the view of a light well. When we arrived the receptionist said they had no record of my reservation (don't think it was hotels.coms fault). The accepted it only because I had my booking receipt. We had booked a double bed but given twins, the room was basic but the walls were like paper you could hear everything in all the rooms connected, the person next door started banging on the walls when we were talking very quietly at 11pm and when the toilet flushed in the room upstairs it sounded like a car crash. So I would advise anyone to pay a bit more and stay at a different hotel if visiting Bilbao

-In the rooms. They have a slow/ weak wifi connection in the lobby though. Clean and modern bathrooms- and a great location.

The hotel overall is nice with pleasant staff. The carpet in the rooms is really dirty. You hear a lot of noise in other rooms. Fairly decent location. However, parking garage was full and we were forced to find somewhere else to park......not easy!

Despite being given a room at the rear of the hotel, it was spotlessly clean and comfortable with a great view of the Guggenheim and also the surrounding apartments flower boxes on their balconies. Free wi-fi in the hotel lobby which is a great place with a bar, cafe and restaurant all located together. Food was great with an express menu and an eat all you like buffet. Amazing quality and value ! Ten minute walk gets you to the bus stop for the airport and it was only 10% of the cost of a taxi. Overall would definitely recommend this hotel for a stay in Bilbao

Very good value for money. Good position and short walk to all amenities. Friendly staff.

Needs more powerful wireless - I was running many laptops at once for meetings and it ran much too slow.

This place is great - nice facilities/common areas and helpful staff. Room was small and simple (quite European) but comfortable and clean. Location is fabulous right on the beautiful riverwalk and short stroll to Guggenheim.

My stay at this hotel was very pleasant. I had a room in the back that was very quiet. I imagine that a room with a view of the river would have been noisier because of the traffic. Staff was very courteous, and everything was super clean. The small fridge in the room was very useful. I would return there any time. For my budget, I could not have found better.

Nervion has a great location - a short walk to the Guggenheim, Museum of Belle Artes and the Old City. Hotel is clean, well maintained and very reasonably priced. Also, free internet. I would stay there again next time I go to Bilbao

Only complaint was that parking was very expensive, and breakfast was not included.

Overall, this was a great deal. The bar and restaurant in the lobby was very convenient and always happening. The location of the hotel was ideal. Everything was clean, comfortable and the staff was very helpful. I would go back there.

This was well located to all the sights and within easy walking distance of everything in the main areas of Barcelona. We found a fantastic Japanese restaurant almost next door, great fresh food for a budget price.

Perfect locale. Lovely walk along the river to the Guggenheim. Short walk in other direction to the old city and shops, banks and food. Not many restaurants within a 2 block radius of hotel but there are some toward and in the old town which is a must see for the charm and the shopping and the hotel has one. Breakfast buffet was good with plenty of options, bar in lobby with food that was just okay. Lobby large and comfortable with plenty of seating, elevators and tiny parking garage for tiny cars right under the hotel for 20 euro. Hard beds, large pillows, flat-screen tv, bathroom provided soap, shampoos, hair dryer, bidet. Rooms were clean and hotel was well kept. Not a luxury hotel but not a shabby dump either, great mid-class accommodations. Ask for a room on the river side. Helpful and accommodating staff and free wi-fi. Bilbao was a surprise, very clean, vibrant and efficient city. We went for the Guggenheim and fell in love with the entire city, especially the old town area. Plenty of public transportation to take you anywhere you need to go. We drove in from Madrid and it was a breeze to get in and out of the city and to this hotel.

I would not stay anywhere else in Bilbao. Fab location on river. With easy walking access to old town, gugenheim and city centre. Staff were excellent and the lobby bar had a good atmosphere. Book ahead for fab room rates.

Excellent value (only if booked online though), great location for Guggenheim and Old town (although a bit of a trek to the airport shuttle bus stop). Rooms are clean, although initially put into a smoking room. This was corrected, but no assistance was offered to move the luggage, and several trips were needed to exchange keys/bags etc. Stay on upper floors for views, as lower floor windows look out onto the AC vents...

If your life depends on staying the night in Bilbao and every other hotel is full, try the Barcello Nervion. Stayed in six Spanish hotels on this trip - this one by far the worst. Rude staff, cramped room with no facilities and very uncomfortable beds. A last resort kind of place.

Everything is within easy walking distance;including the airport bus stop.The city is well served by public transport so forget driving.The hotel is busy and compact but facilities cope well enough.

I wanted to introduce my youngest daughter to Bilbao en route to stay with friends. She loved the hotel, cool and modern, so centrally located on the river, a short walk either to the restaurants and bars of the old town or to the exciting experience of the Guggenheim. i look forward to returning.

Hotel situated walking distance to calatrava glass bridge and guggenheim museum. Budget hotel with most anemities. However lacked the comfort of upper scale hotels in the area. Upon arrival hotel clerk was extremely rude handling a phone call and inputting in the computer. I thought the rudeness left when i left Madrid. However, the down side came as i found insects on and around the couches of the hotel room. To no avail our one night stay was comforting as the location showed.

The rooms were great, good location, but the staff (all of them that I interacted with, multiple people) were unhelpful and bordering on downright rude.

I was staying in this hotel with my two friends for one night as part of our trip. I don't have any complaints about this hotel. Considering the rate being paid, it was clean, the staff are friendly and it it well located for one to explore the city by foot. I would have appreciated if the parking charge had been high lighted beforehand though.

The Hotel was in a great central location on the river and near all the attractions such as the Guggenheim, The Old Town and central parks. The major thing that was wrong with my stay in the hotel was the uncomfortable bed, it was pretty much rock hard. Besides that, all the staff were very helpful and it was pretty darn clean.

the best thing about this hotel is the location on the river in walking distance to the Guggenheim, which we loved, and the old quarter near the theater. the reception staff was not overly helpful or friendly. watch out for extra costs for wireless, parking, breakfast...

Hemos pasado un fin de semana en este hotel en dos habitaciones, una triple y una doble. Las habitaciones son confortables y están limpias, pero algunos detalles no están especialmente cuidados (por ejemplo, el mando de la TV estaba desgastado por completo y funcionaba a duras penas) El fin de semana que pasamos allí había un congreso y, a pesar de estar ubicados en la cuarta planta, durante toda la noche escuchamos la música como si la fiesta fuese en nuestra propia habitación. También es cierto que no se puede valorar un establecimiento por una situación excepcional como esta, pero podrían habernos alojado en plantas más altas. El trato por parte del personal ha sido muy correcto. Los precios de la cafetería son asequibles respecto a otros hoteles.

mas que todo las alfombras dan la impresiòn de que el hotel esta sucio es simplemente que estan muy deterioradas, un cambio no les vendrìa mal; por lo demas todo el servicio es muy bueno.

Muy buena ubicación, buenas habitaciones, buena higiene. El personal muy atento, buen servicio de bar, Todo 5 puntos, salvo la cena, poca variedad de platos, a ese aspecto le doy solo 3 puntos. Regresaría y lo recomiendo.
