Clean room was huge. Breakfast was good .

Very relaxing. Staff was very courteous. They went above and beyond to make sure me and my family were comfortable. We had a great stay. The indoor pool was perfect since it was raining outside. The room was very clean and comfortable, very spacious for my family of 5.

GREAT

The hotel was very clean and the service was super friendly. The breakfast was just continental but was plenty. The rooms were big and the beds were comfortable. Our bathroom door wouldn't lock very well and the door wouldn't stay open. It would always swing closed, but it was not any big deal really. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay there again. It was close to downtown but not close enough to walk.

The Room was surface clean, but there was dirty feminine thing on the floor by the dresser and under the dresser there was trash, that the supervisor said they couldn't move the dresser, but we saw it just sitting on the bed.the staff put us in a room, then another guest knocked on the door to say it was his room, we went to the front desk and they moved us. then we went to dinner and our keys didn't work, so when we went to the front desk they said they had to move our luggage and when we got back to our room it was in our room but not where we left it. As if someone had gone through it.....it was a nightmare We made the manager get us another room elsewhere. he did so Reluctantly

Not located in a good neighborhood; close to freeway, power station, & doggie daycare. Staff was very friendly, helpful and accommodating.

I love the front desk employees they we very nice and helpful in giving us great recommendation on where to go and what was going on in town that day.. Very helpful thank you. It was a great location for a great price just 5 min away from down town.

Stayed here on the way to South Texas. Wanted something close to Alamo and River Walk. Exceeded my expectations. Very nice facilities and close to Alamo and River Walk. Staff was very helpful and told us about Fiesta that was going on on town. Very satisfied.

The hotel was great. I would definitely stay there again. My room was clean and the employees were very accommodating.

Not much of a view off the balcony, but very clean and a great price.

Hotel was located right off the expressway, not near the Riverwalk or other downtown attractions. Too far to walk. But it lacked there it made up for with a very friendly staff always willing to help and a clean, comfortable room.

good spot. just a short drive from the riverwalk and alamo.

Our stay in Best Western in San Antonio was both comfortable and the service was very professional. If we come to San Antonio again, we will not be hesitant to stay at Best Western again.

I liked the hotel. It was nice and clean. We walked to the Market Square. I thought it was closer to downtown but it was okay. I had a good stay. The breakfast is pretty good too.

Overall good experience, would stay there again.

The bed was hard

It was nice and cozy. Close to everything.

At first the room they put us in smelled like mildew and the ac would not cool the room down. So we had to switch rooms the next room was a lot better.

A car is a must here, although the location is near to the must-sees of San Antonio with a drive of a couple miles. We had one problem in that two of our party needed a handicap room; it was requested a week prior to the trip tho not at original booking; requested again at check-in; we were told none was available; that they'd "try" to find a shower seat. Not sure anyone tried, but on further complaint and request, the upshot was a handicap room was found for us with a required room change at 10:30 pm. Aside from that the rest of our stay good, facility understaffed, breakfast good, and price was right.

Pleasantly surprised that the in-room refrigerator was actually full-sized instead of the small ones that fit under the counter. We were able to buy groceries and fit them in the refrigerator to save money on meals. Everything was very clean and spacious (we stayed in a room on the first floor). My only complaint is that they used a room deodorant with a soapy clean smell that was overwhelming. If that had been toned down, our stay would be perfect!

The name says Alamo Suites downtown, however, it is not in middle of downtown, it is actually around 2 1/2 miles from it. If you have transportation that would be fine I suppose but I did not and had to take a cab to convention center every day because the surrounding area is very shady and unsafe. I was told about the trolley service but they let you out two blocks away and one evening by the time they dropped me off at the stop, it was dark and I had to walk in two blocks in the dark - very scary area. The sliding glass door leading to the balcony in my room was unlocked, the safety bar not down and I did not realize it the night I arrived (I informed front desk but they did not seem concerned at all), I only realized it the following morning because I was looking outside to see what the weather was like.

Overall the stay was great. The hotel staff was very friendly, helpful. The hotel was clean but certainly not spotless. The hallways smell a little funky and you could tell they tried to cover it up with some sort of deodorizer. We appreciated the effort, but it is probably time to put down some new carpet. The rooms were huge---the twin king size beds were very nice and very comfortable. The breakfast was adequate and the breakfast area was well maintained. The lady managing the breakfast area was very friendly and wanted people to be happy---excellent job. We enjoyed the waffles in the shape of Texas. We did walk to the Riverwalk from here, but it was not an easy hike, especially if you are going to walk a lot downtown. The neighborhood from the hotel to downtown is not great, but certainly not dangerous (unless you did it late at night or something). If you drive from the hotel to the Riverwalk (which we did 1 night also) you are going to pay $10 or more to park. Overall...the value for the money paid to stay there was excellent.

This place is older, and it showed in the room decor, carpet and layout. We had a suite with a separate living room, which was nice, although the furniture and television were very worn and dated. The TV had poor reception and no pay channels such as HBO. The bed was comfortable however and the shower (waterflow) was decent. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Downtown is relatively close but not within walking distance. The price was good for what we got, and it served our needs as far as location and being a suite (my husband and I tend to have vast differences in our bedtimes so it was nice to be able to watch tv in another room without disturbing him). The continental breakfast was decent and you can actually get some of it if you're willing to participate in hand-to-hand combat to the death. The room they serve breakfast in is small and cramped as it is, but add a hundred or so guests and it was an outright mob scene. I literally had to shove and stab in order to get even a muffin. We didn't even eat breakfast there for the majority of our stay, it was just too much violence!

I enjoyed everything except the smell from the toilet (need to do a better job of sanitizing the toilets and put air freshners in the rooms, just a suggestion) but other than this the room was satisfactory, and especially the price compared to many of the other hotels in the area, i also enjoyed the continetal breakfast, and the management and staff were very professional and caring, they also refunded me 6 dollars that their coke machine deducted from my debit card, and i was very impressed with how they handled the matter.. I will definitely stay at their hotel again should every i vacate in san antonio, the location and price is perfect..Thank you..

Great price and close to freeway access. Loved having 2 king sized beds plus a sleeper sofa, gave us a lot of room to move. Hotel is older, beds not too comfortable. Pool warm and indoors. Breakfast adequate, full of guests and hard to maneuver when everything was packed into a corner, almost always out of coffee. WiFi was inconsistent, but all in all for the price this worked out just fine for our family.

there were a few issues with our stay....1st was we booked a 2 king bed with sofa sleeper and we were placed in a single king bed with sofa sleeper. That was corrected after my wife had to prove to the front desk that we paid for was the 2 king beds. which we almost didnt get because they didnt have any more available. 2nd issue was the screaming kids running up and down the hallway when people are trying to go to sleep. we didnt report this issue because the time management would get to 3rd floor the kids were no longer doing it. 3rd was parking lot is too small for the amount of business they do. they had wonderful staff, from the front desk to the ladies that cleaned the rooms. would we stay again if we go back to San Antonio, the answer is yes we would go back to this hotel again.

The main issue we had was with card access to our room and into the hotel itself. The card would eventually work but it is irritating to try six or seven times before the mechanism works. The location and hotel itself was great - once you got in.

Everything was great.. From the service to the rooms. Only issue i faced was that since i didnt have a car, it does tend to be a wee bit inconvenient to go to downtown. and the vicinity does seem a bit shady in the night. But if you have a car or can get a cab, this is a good place. its about 25 mins walk from downtown and about 10 mins from Market square. I will certainly recommend this place to my friends and will come back if i visit San Antonio

Hotel staff were excellent and were the best thing about the stay. Room was like an 80's apartment converted by a jack of all trades. Hotel is not exactly on the Riverwalk but is a short drive away. Pool was small but functional. Breakfast was limited to waffles, breads, boiled eggs, cereal but no breakfast meats.

My family of four only stayed one night, but it was a great stay. The staff was wonderful. They found a crib for my daughter and helped us locate the bus stops and stores that we needed. Vanessa was very helpful when I needed to get bus fare for our return trip. The indoor swimming pool was an added bonus for our family.

House keeping is lazy and doesn't complete their jobs. We arrived back to our hotel at 4 pm and they hadn't cleaned the bathroom out the room. They came in and took our towels but never brought us any. After having to go down to the office, they finally brought us a set.

felt I was next in line @ check in time they took other person instead.Workers were very slow appear not to know procedure for check in.Hotel rm cards didn't work had to keep asking to reprogram them

Pillows and bed covers had a bad dirty oder. They did not smell clean and fresh. Good size room and a lot of space.

Air conditioner did not work and they did nothing for me. Bad area. GHETTO...pool was small. Did not look anything like the pictures online. Will not ever stay there again, EVER..

POSITIVE aspects of this hotel: 1) friendly, helpful staff 2) the room was huge, comfortable, and clean 3) free wifi 4) free breakfast that provides variety and taste NEGATIVE aspects of this hotel: the location is horrible. There is a dog kennel across the street, the interstate is just a few feet away from the hotel, there are power lines and a wifi tower right in the parking lot, the pool is tiny and too full of chlorine, the breakfast area is so small that it looks like a fish feeding frenzy as guests try to get their food. If all you want is a clean, comfortable room, then it's a pretty good hotel. If you want ambiance, try another hotel.
