The hotel is very basic. Bed, dresser, shower, etc. It was clean, though the shower curtain was moldy. One thing that would make a big difference would be for their shuttle to run downtown/to Old Port. Then the distance (it's about a $10 cab ride) wouldn't seem as big a deal. Seems silly that it doesn't, as it runs to the airport, etc. All in all, a decent place to get a night's sleep.

Hey, do you like being woken up at 3 a.m. by rowdy hotel guests and constantly slamming doors? Do you also like complaining to the front desk about this, only to have them look at you with a blank "what am I supposed to do" look? Well then, La Quinta Inn is the place for you! We stayed here two nights, and dealt with rowdy other rooms both nights. On top of this, the room had a noisy heater, the elevator for the hotel takes about five minutes to operate (there's only one), and the aforementioned doors aren't rigged to close gently.....they slam, every time. So every 10 seconds during the day, you're feeling your room shake from a slamming door.

Great hotel to stay in Portland. However, I do not understand why people with pets are put on the fourth floor. Great stay anyway.

I thought the staff was very friendly and helpful. I really liked the relaxed atmosphere and thought our stay was a good value.

The room wasn't very up to date, but it was very comfortable. We walked the mile or so to downtown and it was just long enough to feel inconvenient. The neighborhood it's in didn't feel the safest either. The cab ride back to the hotel that night was about $10, the room was clean, the bed was super comfortable, breakfast was good, and the price was right. I'm satisfied.

We walked into our and it reaked of smoke and musty mold. Not impressed. However the beds were very comfy.

We enjoyed our brief stay. Quality of continental breakfast was excellent

Very comfortable mattress!

Near the Amtrak, affordable and clean, Staff was nice and a great continental breakfast. Smoking and non smoking. 207 taxi co. is nice to get around but it is a $10. bill to get to Old Port District

The hotels in Old Port can be pricey and they seem to book up quickly. The hotel itself was well kept, the staff were all very friendly and helpful, the location is up past Congress street which isn't the best area. I'd recommend taking a cab if you are going any where especially at night. Cab was $10 (tip included) from the hotel to Fore Street. The only negative thing about this hotel is that the bed was the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept in and the pillows were horrible. Bring your own if you can! Also, make sure you check the temperature on the thermostat before you go to bed, the room gets very hot and it's pretty loud when it turns on. For the price, this hotel is worth if if you're staying for one night.

Very pleased with the hotel and amenities - especially appreciated the early morning shuttle to the airport. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms very clean and fresh; beds very comfortable.

The room was clean. The people were friendly. I had wonderful conversations with everyone, even with the cleaning crew. I'll come back again.

We picked the hotel by close proximity to a meeting in town. The neighborhood looks a combination industrial/low income housing, which left much to be desired.

Service was great. Breakfast was okay. You get what you paid for basically.

Our first impression of Hotels.com was the guy on the other end of our phone who not only booked it for us but gave us INCREDIBLE directions on how to find this hotel. He was very patient and kind. The room was clean and very comfortable.Thank you hotels.com! We were there to sleep not to use ammenties except for breakfast in the morning. The breakfast area was booming with lots of hungry customers!

Friendly staff. Rooms very satisfactory. Very comfortable beds with warm blankets. Toilet paper holders rather far from toilet; require a stretch. No body lotion provided. Good continental breakfast. Good Thai restaurant nearby, but grubby neighborhood; not nice to walk, especially at night.

Our room was better than expected. All the linens were bright white and the room was great! Everything I needed was included and the breakfast was very good too. The only thing I could have asked for was PBS as an option among the TV stations.

Our stay was okay but one drawback of the hotel is that there is no restaurant in the hotel.

Hotel was good for a 2.5 star, but walking distance is a little far to attractions.

we found the location great and and the room very comfortable. We would stay there again Thank you for the great breakfast also.

Staff was excellent. Convenient to Portland and I295.

The hotel itself was fairly clean but the location was a bit away from the downtown area. It was raining and difficult to see the lines on the roads as we made our way downtown where all the resturants are. No shuttle service downtown.

Very friendly staff. They gave many suggests of restaurants in the area and tourist places. Bed was comfortable and the rooms are quite large.

Hotel was more than ok, but not excellent. Very clean and comfortable, however the beds were a little soft. The surrounding neighborhood was kind of bland, especially compared to the old port, but the price was excellent, given that by car we were very close to the port area. The breakfast was rather complete, but we had been on the road for almost 2 weeks and were getting tired of that selection; not the hotel's fault. An inside pool would have been nice given we were there at end of September.

I don't think I would stay here again. Nothing like the LaQuinta in Tuscon, AZ....

This was an excellent location for seeing a SeaDogs game. The surroundings are nothing special (right near the highway and in a more "industrial part of town), and It's a bit out of the way for getting into downtown Portland (about a 5min drive away). However, if you don't want to worry about parking (or having a few beers) at a baseball game, then this is the perfect location to stay a night or two at.

Staff was very helpful with requested information. However the swimming pool was filled with algae and looked like it had not been clean for sometime. Also while trying to relax it was a little unnerving to have two dog running aroud the pool area. The staff did take care of the problem when notified.

Room was clean, staff was very nice. I had a non smoking room but the Hallway stunk of ciggarete smoke. The room did too but I stopped noticing after 20 or so minutes.

I very disapointed for the amount of money I spent. There was a dried up dirty washcloth hanging on the shower curtain when I checked in. The bathtub was covered in "someones" hair, private and other. The bed had dirt and hair in the sheets when I pulled them back to go to bed.The following day when they came and refreshed the towels and made the bed, they still left the "dirty washcloth" hanging over the shower. I am canceling my reservation I have in September for 3 nights, as I cant see spending that amount of money and having the remians of the person before me all through the room.
