hte hotel was not up to the standards of the other hilton hotels i have stayed at. decor was very tired and in some places shabby.the only saving grace, was the view from our room. would not stay here again.

The hotel is situated across the river from Canary Wharf. There is a complementary ferry service which travels to and from the area every 15 minutes, and only takes about 2 mins. There is nothing much around the hotel itself apart from apartments, but as with anywhere in London, you are only a ferry trip or underground journey away from everywhere. The hotel is your typical 4 start Hilton, with a nice bar and decent enough rooms. If a good spa is important to you then this place won't cut it. The health club is a small/public one around the corner from the Hilton, with a small pool, a jacuzzi and a couple of sauna's. I didnt go in the gym, so can't comment on that. All the hotel staff were very friendly and helpfull. So..... to sum it up: Nice hotel out of the hussle and bussle of the City, but don't expect it to blow your mind. If you want a bit more class at an affordable, the Hilton in Canary Wharf looked nicer.

The bed is bit of tough to sleep on it. I experience the no hot water issue in our room. so, It was quite unpleasant experience.

The staff here were very pleasant and helpful, the car park is free and there's no congestion charge making it ideal to go into central London. The free ferry is vital however, without this service it would be difficult to get into London. on the down side the bathroom was a little outdated for a 4* and the grouting was missing in places. Over all the room was very large and we did have a view of the river and Canary Wharf. For a one or two night stay I would definitely recommend it. We didn't eat in the hotel as the cost was expensive but there was free fruit in reception to which we helped ourselves, this got us through until we found a much cheaper alternative. The hotel is perfect for visiting Canary Wharf and ideally placed for the O2 and the Olympic stadium about 2miles away) although there are a couple of rough areas to drive through to get to the hotel the area it's situated in is clean and modern. I have recently stayed in the Hilton in Canary Wharf, slightly more expensive but clearly newer!

We had a lovely stay at this hotel and will go there again. It's fantastic to start a day out in London on the river.

Good hotel, great service from staff. Good value menu in restaurant. Ensuite a little jaded and in need of a refresh. Otherwise great.

Not up to normal hilton quality , Room smelt of smoke so had to move and next room had no window !

We chose this hotel for its quad rooms (often 4 adults sharing need 2 rooms). It was away from central sights but easy to get to the tube using the hotel's free river boat then a stroll to Canary Wharf station. Breakfast covered all options and the staff couldn't do enough for you. The hotel was clean, tidy and well maintained. Beds were confortable & there was no noise from outside. Would highly recommend & will definitely be back.

Great location for Canary Wharf, very useful boat across the Thames. Breakfast has everything you could want, with great service.

If you are going to London and want to get to and from the city centre forget this hotel. It is a constant nightmare getting the ferry from the hotel to canary wharf and back there can be upto 20 minutes delays. On Sunday they do not run until 9am forcing me to pay 30 pounds for a taxi to the tube station. Very frustrating

Our visit was excellent in every possible way. We are looking forward to our next stay and would recommend this to anyone who wants to get away for a romantic weekend or just a weekend in general. The staff was extremely polite and very helpful. We will be back pretty soon. Our room was fab and the view from the balcony was beautiful at night.

Nice hotel and staff excellent. Its a wee bit out the way but there is a regular ferry to take across to tube/train stations. Recommended

We were a little disappointed with the washroom facilities in the hotel room and the beds were a little uncomfortable. The breakfast buffet was nice and staff were friendly. We felt the hotel needs some refurbishment .

My wife, two daughters and I booked a family room just for one night. We were met by very polite reception staff who duly checked us in with no fuss or bother. We were pleasantly surprised to find that we had a large room with a river view. When we noticed there was insufficient bedding we called housekeeping and within 30 mins all was rectified. The breakfast was included and was served in a lovely setting - the food and choice was lovely. The only very slightly negative point with our say was that the bathroom looked a little tired but it's not a brand new hotel. All in all, a great experience and one that we will certainly repeat.

The hotel has a very good standard, but it is a little bit hard to get there and it is nothing of interest nearby.

Great value for money and lovely hotel. Bath looked a bit worn and was told by reception that we had to pay for breakfast but I had already paid online for it to be included. Glad I took a copy of my reciept and all was resolved. Brilliant location and easyaccess to O2.

The hotel was a little further out than expected, but we were grateful for this as there were thousands of people in London to celebrate the New Year. Very happy with the hotel and staff. Paddington station were charging £8.50 per item to hold luggage while we spent our last day sight seeing - but the hotel offered to hold it for us free of charge. Would definitely visit again.

Usual quality of service etc but the hotel decor itself is well overdue for a bit of a touch up job

A bit outdated room on the ground floor. It was clean. TV from the previous century, why not a flat screen with more channels. But overall it was a good stay. What was a bid strange?: the male breakfast room manager, trying to do popular, was talking '2011' language to a 55 year old. Not appreciated and not very HILTON like. What a Muppet. 'HI" follow me, instead of: Goodmorning Sir, please follow me. I am getting old.

I'm not sure I shoudl tell you how good this hotel is as I want to make sure there are rooms available when I go next time! Buffet breakfast is the best I have ever had, always stocked up from crossiants to full breakfast salmon, cakes, fresh fruit the and you get a flask of coffee or tea on your table. Service is superb and all the staff are attentive without being in your face and say good morning to you. Would suggest you get it with your room as its £18 a head! We had a martini and lemonade and a double rum at night and this cost £16 (ouch) lovely pub about 30 yards from the hotel, and if you are happy to walk 15-20 mins there is another pub hidden away called the Salt Quay where the food was excellent and good value. If may seem out of the way but at the price its well worth it. You can get the Hiltons own boat across to Canary Wharf and back free of charge. The O2 isn't far from there, about 3 stops ish. Closest tube is the Rotherhite overground, and this is a 25 minute walk but as i say if you cross on the boat to Canary wharf you can avoid this. very pleased, and at Hotels.com prices, even more so, thank you to the hotel! We stay at this Hilton at least once a year for a London weekend Break. This was the first time we used Hotel.com and had no problems with the booking. We had a room in the warehouse conversion part of the hotel and it was excellent and better than the new build rooms. If you can get a room in the 'old' section then go for it. Hilton Breakfasts are legendary and did not disappoint on either morning. They really do set you up for the day. One of the best things about this Hilton is the riverside patio. Even in October we could sit outside and watch the river and the towering buildings of Canary Wharf. We liked the free ferry service to Canary Wharf where we caught a Thames Clipper Service up-river to The Embankment. Excellent service. If you are 'surprised' by the Hilton Bar prices then there are 2 pubs within 150 metres of either side of the hotel offering better value. The area is genuinely quiet and feels safe. With the bus service that stops outside the hotel and its closeness to Canada Water & the Jubilee Line getting into the heart of London is simple on the tube as well as the river taxis and the tube service out of Canary Wharf. The Hilton at Rotherhithe offers a quality choice against the more Central London hotels. It certainly offers better value than say The Hilton at Green Park which is eye-wateringly over-priced. Well done to Hilton & Hotel.com, can't wait for our next visit. Graham & Sheila.

The Hilton Hotel was on the Thames opposite Canary Wharf, the staff where helpful and friendly, the hotel is in need of some long term work but overall it is clean, tidy and nice bar and reasonable prices and the weekend was good value. A pity that the DLR wasn’t working and it would be most advantageous if the hotel had a late night service for collection to get back to the hotel late from Canary Wharf (Mini Bus every 20 minutes?). The cab was very costly!

Had a great stay here at the hilton riverside docklands. really nice inside, room/balcony smart and clean, good bar and staff friendly. great view over the thames of canary wharf. took 25 mins to get to the o2, pleasantly suprised by our hotel taxi as we were goin to see snoop dogg, and turned up to the o2 in style in a mercedes 4x4 with tinted windows!! hotel pool and sauna great cure for a hangover. overall a brilliant stay and we will definately be going back.

I booked this hotel for a weekend away with 2 other people for a friends birthday. We had a fantastic time here & my friend really enjoyed her birthday, the hotel sent champagne to the Room & also decorated it with banners & balloons. The hotel staff were very friendly & helpful i would Definently recommend this hotel.

Carpets were stained, could feel the springs in the mattress, overall not happy :(

It is is not centrally located. They have eliminated the shuttle bus which conviniently took guests to the nearest train station. The only way to the Underground is by taking a ferry and walking a substantial distance or by taking a bus. Still by the time you get to the center of London you will loose a substantial amount of time and energy. The hotel itself is very nice. The room was great and the on premis restaurant reasonably good.

We had a great stay at this hotel. Conveniently located to bus and train stations. DLR also a great way to get around. Make sure that you get the breakfast package when you book with Hotels.com. It definitely is worthwhile. Will definitely stay there again whenever in London!

As much as we liked this hotel, we enjoyed the area - and the staff were wonderful, the advertised "Short Walk" from Canary Wharf tube station is very misleading. There are no signs to show which way to the pier to get the free ferry, and it took nearly 20 minutes to get to it, so if you are dragging a lot of luggage or are just off a long flight - be warned!

Great stay here, staff friendly and welcoming. Relaxing location next to the Thames. A little bit out of the center but not to much trouble getting in to all the sites. Always a pleasure to travel over to Canary Wharf on the ferry, then a short walk to underground. Only negative was the poor quality of food from room service one night ( after 12!) Other than that breakfast fantastic and barman in the evening welcoming and service first rate!

Hotel was great fun. A bit faded in its condition but lovely friendly staff. All Staff were very helpful and the food was great. Need to try harder to keep the breakfast stuff hot but its a small thing as the breakfast was great. Try and get a room overlooking the river. Transport to town via Canada waters tube and bus from hotel. Will do it again

Lovely setting on the Thames and in the docklands area with a curtesy river taxi. The restuarant and bar is in a converted warehouse.

The hotel is a collection of separate buildings. The lobby and outdoor areas are very pleasant. The waterfront open-air bar/lounge area is a lovely place for an evening cocktail. The deluxe plus rooms are very spacious and double the size of the regular rooms. Since the hotel is spread out over multiple buildings, finding the rooms by the room number is a challenge. There is only one handicapped accessible twin room. The elevators are tiny and slow. The free full English breakfast is sumptuous, which makes up for the slightly remote location of the hotel, We had our own vehicle so we did not use the free shuttle to the local shopping and underground station. However, we noticed that the queue for the shuttle was long at times and not everyone could get on. The hotel reception is not on street-level and the driveway leading to the reception is easily missed. We passed it the first couple of times even with a GPS. The hotel staff were all very helpful. Not a lot of restaurants in the neighbourhood, but the nearby pub recommended by the hotel serves great and authentic Thai food. It was packed on the Monday night we went. The hotel offers a free ferry pass to get across the river to Canary Wharf, where there are some very nice restaurants and shopping. Going to Central London by ferry is also a scenic and convenient alternative to taking the tube. We saw Tower Bridge opening during our ferry trip. The only disappointing thing was the lack of free wifi.

We were down for the London triathlon spent 2 nights at the Hilton Docklands hotel. The location was pretty good - we were able to access the London eXcel centre without too much difficulty. Free onsite parking was greatly appreciated - except beware that the key cards don't always work! The location is really nice and quiet. We enjoyed a brilliant breakfast overlooking the Thames!

Great rooms, nice bar and outside area, service not so great except for 1 bar-man, can't say his name but he was '**** the terrible' (superb, attentive bar-man). Unusual set-up but for the money I would plum for another Hilton....

Good location, the free shuttle bus to Canada Water Tube station was a godsend but sadly that is stopping at the end of July, although alternative arrangements are in place via the Canary Wharf one, which should be fine. Room keys are a bit unresponsive and directions in the hotel could be a bit clearer, but these are just minor points. Breakfast was good but a little chaotic as there were 6 of us and it took a while to find a table and then get the cutlery etc, but the food was good. Lovely location next to the river to sit outside the bar or after breakfast. Staff friendly and helpful, would ndefinitely recommend and stay again.

Despite the tired look and feel to the rooms, this hotel met all our expectations and the staff were helpful, attentive and great ambassadors for the brand. We found out on day 2 that the shuttle bus goes to Canada Water tube/train station every 15 minutes from 8am till 11:30pm which saved on taxi charges for the same journey - which was a considerable savings. This service on its own made our stay a joy! the buffet breakfast are great value and we ate dinner on one of our 3 nights and that too proved to be great value. So - aside from the fact that the building looks a bit dated and our room had significant cracks in the walls, these can be overlooked as the service and staff more than made up for them!

Initial room - awful, small and very old fashioned and tired Second room once moved - nice decor and fixture & fittings but room size tiny, awkward/dangerous radiators in silly places, no air conditioning on 30+ degrees day in room with 50% of walls covered in top to toe windows, only one opening window which you can't leave open through night as someone could easily climb in as room was on ground floor. Plus load music from opposite gym that wakes you up in the morning. All in all very disappointing for a Hilton, which I thought were supposed to be good hotels. Will stay at a premier inn or holiday inn express next time as comfort would be higher.

Hotel is good, spacious room and great showers. Breakfast is decent. But location of hotel is far away from tube station so may not be too suitable for travelers. Hotel offers a shuttle bus service to the tube station but the bus was small and always fully packed so u have to wait for the next bus, and in the end u could spend 30 min just WAITING for the bus. If u are travelling from hotel to airport should get a taxi: we tried taking the tube and ended up missing our flight because of the delayed shuttle bus AND tube service

Positive Points: - The staff is first class. They are very courteous, polite, and professional. They welcome their visitors very well. - The views of London’s Canary Wharf district along the River Thames are exceptional and breathtaking. - The Thames Clipper ferry will transport you to Canary Wharf in less than five minutes. - This hotel is ideal if you’re commuting to Canary Wharf exclusively during your stay. Bear in mind there is also a Hilton in Canary Wharf itself. Negatives: - The location is not ideal if you plan to be in Central London past 11pm. You often find that you have to schedule your activities around the time of the hotel’s shuttle service. - The hotel only has one shuttle bus that holds less than 20 people at a time. It commutes between the hotel and Canada Water Station. If you should miss the shuttle at either location, be prepared to wait for 15 to 20 minutes before it arrives again. - The shuttle’s final run is around 11:30pm each day. If you miss the last shuttle, visitors are left to their own devices to find transportation. Be prepared to hail a taxi. Do not expect the taxi to come by the underground station. You have to walk along the neighborhood streets to get their attention. - No free wi-fi service anywhere in the hotel. Purchasing wi-fi service is extremely expensive. I would recommend a revision of the wi-fi service and perhaps offering the shuttle service 24 hours a day, should in case guests miss their trains or experience extraordinary circumstances. Additionally, more than one shuttle is needed. The frustration is evident for both the passengers and the driver. Personally, the inconvenience of the negative points are the reasons why I would not recommend this hotel for travelers visiting London. Even with a special guest rate, the location is so inconvenient that it would be worth paying a bit more for a hotel that’s easily accessible no matter where you are in London.

Hilton London Docklands - all promise and little delivery sums up this hotel. Great website, but the hotel simply doesn't live up to it! The room was disappointing, the breakfast was cold and the location couldn't have been worse. Don't use this hotel unless you want to get away from it all in London!
