Homeless soup kitchen? across the street - a bit of a concern for safety at night. Also the walls seemed thin - a lot of traffic noises from the street below. Excellent breakfast buffet!

Everything was great. The hotel is only one of only a few to offer a free breakfast, and it was ok. The only thing I had a problem with was that the air didn't really work in the room. I mean there was air moving around the room it just didn't get to a temperature I would have liked. Other then that my stay was fine.

This hotel was wonderful. Stayed for one night to attend basketball game at Air Canada Centre. Was in walking distance to the Centre, Hockey Hall of Fame, CN Tower.. We were comfortable walking in the neighborhood. Parking was very affordable and the complimentary breakfast was outstanding. Located very close to expressway leading into and out of city.

I highly recommend people to stay at this hotel. You don't need to drive to any attractions downtown. Example, Acc Centre, CN tower and more.

People were very nice & helpful. However, Hallway had an awful smell. Room had an awful smell. Drain Pipe under the sink was leaking. No workout room in the Hotel.

This hotel was quite cheap and I had fairly low expectations of it. But it turned out to be very comfortable, extremely clean, and equipped with all the things we now expect from a good hotel. There was a decent breakfast included in the price which I didn't expect. And in the bathrooms--which are always a good test of a hotel--everything worked well, the water was wonderfully hot and flowed fast, etc., etc. Above all, the staff was polite, helpful, and very efficient. I enjoyed my stay very much and I will certainly stay in this hotel on future visits to Toronto.

We were very happy with our stay. We recently stay in Chicago at your Holiday Inn Express and were happy as well (rooms were a little smaller).

Hotel was clean and comfortable for the most part. Air conditioner was loud but had to be kept on all night to be comfortable. Neighbourhood was a little sketchy but my wife and I walked to Younge Street ( about 5 minutes) with no issues.

The staff were very polite, helpful and a pleasure to interact with Nancy

Loved the location of this hotel - an easy walk to my conference downtown, and surrounded by great restaurant options. Breakfast was fantastic. The bed was incredibly comfortable - I haven't slept so well in ages! Only complaint was that the sound-proofing could have been better; I could hear my neighbors a little too easily. All in all, would definitely stay again!

The hotel was quite clean and the staff was very courteous. It is an older hotel so furnishings are a bit outdated, but for the price and location it's an excellent value. The breakfast is free and was actually quite good - bagels, eggs, bacon, fruit, yogurt, cereal, pancakes, etc. There was no fitness room but again, for the price, it's hard to beat this hotel.

We had a great experience at this hotel. It was clean, everyone was super helpful, and it was a good price! Very convenient location and we would stay there again. Only thing that was disappointing was the expensive hotel parking.

My stay at the Holiday Inn Express, Toronto was very comfortable. The room was clean and the staff was very accommodating.

Easy access and great location to St. Lawrence Market. Walk through St.James Park and listen to Cathedral's bells on Sunday morning. Holiday Inn's manager, Para, was very pleasant and helpful to direct us to Hot House restaurant on Front St. for great casual dining experience. Nothing fancy about this hotel, well used but clean, very friendly staff. Will stay again to explore area again.

Positives: For the price, this was a great value. Close to all of the downtown activities and events. Room was great; bed was excellent, felt like home. The service got my attention most of all. Received a courteously call shortly after getting into my room to make sure everything was okay. That was appreciated. The morning paper, amazing breakfast (I say again - amazing breakfast) finished off a great stay. Negatives: Noisy - needs to work on noise reduction within the building. Sounds from hallway and adjoining rooms seemed louder than necessary. Doors closed with a loud clunk. Parking - cost seemed alittle high for 24hr period.

We were very happy with this hotel. Parking was easy, the hotel was close to everywhere we wanted to go. We would definitely stay here again. The staff seemed eager to please and check in was quick and painless. They even called our room a few minutes after we were there.

This hotel was a great place for me and a few friends to stay on New Years Eve. The hotel location is great only about a 12 minute walk to the Eaton Centre and about a 20 minute walk to Richmond Street. The hotel staff were very helpful and pleasant with anything that was needed throughout our stay at this hotel. They also had free wifi in the room and a great full continental breakfast in the morning. Only downfall had to pay $20 per day to park.

We picked the Holiday Inn Express because it was a reasonably priced hotel and it included breakfast. Hotel room was pleasant but basic. Bed very comfortable. Old style TV but worked OK so we didn't care. Breakfast had lots of choices and was very good. Reasonable walk to main events downtown and a quiet neighbourhood. We paid for street parking which was cheaper than the underground.

Just had the room for one night to go to see a DJ at The Guvernment. It was perfect in terms of price and location since I just needed a decent room to sleep for the night downtown. Would not recommend if you're trying to impress someone, but it's good for just sleeping! Would recommend if you just need somewhere to crash.

Perfect location for our girlfriends weekend away. Clean, pleasant helpful staff, good buffet breakfast. Only disappointment was we had booked a room with two double beds, only to find out that they were USA standard double which meant 3/4 beds for Canadian standards. We were able to change to a room with a queen and a pull out. Pull out felt springs the first night, better second night as I asked for and got a foam mattress from a cot to put on top of pull out mtatress, much better. Girls weekend away was great? 3 Sistas

Our stay was just so pleasant and Chris at the front desk was a delight to deal with. I will definitely be back to this HI Express. Great job HI Team...

I'm not a big fan of HI Express as they seem to use disposable *everything* and wrap it all an plastic. But if you need to be close to George Brown the location is perfect. Breakfast was surprisingly good, especially for something included with the room.

I'd say this place is fine for a night or two when you literally just need a place to crash, but otherwise I'd avoid it (maybe I was expecting too much as Toronto is expensive?). Front desk staff were polite but not as friendly or helpful as I have experienced elsewhere in Canada. The hotel and my room were dated, the room had four very narrow windows which meant there was hardly any natural light, and there was quite a lot of noise from the street. Rooms facing into the courtyard looked much better, with bigger windows also - not sure if these are a different grade? The breakfast was fine but why is all cutlery/crockery disposable? Made for a difficult eating experience and not very environmentally friendly.

Nice hotel, first time staying there and I would stay there again. Great location, right downtown close to ACC etc.

Best price, great location plus free wi-fi and breakfast! Other hotels downtown in our search were generally more expensive and did not include breakfast or internet. Our room was very clean and comfortable and the service people were friendly and efficient.

The staff were great and the breakfast was top quality, we stayed in 12 different cities during our holiday and this hotel ranks as the joint top with the Hampton in DC. It's within walking distance of most of the major attractions in Toronto and the area, although not great, is accessible on well lit main roads which you feel safe on, there are short cuts through lonlier areas if you feel ok to do that. Can't rate the breakfast highly enough, apart from needing either more room or to make sure the staff dont let single eaters take up a table for 4. This is more to do with the people staying being a bit oblivious to others though and not the hotel. Would recommend for a short or extended stay.

The hotel was clean and the room was quiet at the back of the hotel. The decor is a bit dated but not run down. The beds were very comfy. The front desk staff were extremely helpful and patient. Breakfast buffet was included which made life easier not having to find a place to eat first thing in the morning. It wasn't gourmet but a good selection and tasted good. This hotel is very central for everything in downtown Toronto. Definitely would stay there again.

The hotel was pretty close to downtown, like five minute walk to the eatons center. We were down for the Scotiabank marathon, and we were pleased to have the breakfast that they provide, lot's of choices and pretty tasty. The elevator wasnt working properly, and that was probably the only inconvience.

very pleased with hotel and staff all very helpful and friendly. The only thing was the hair dryer in our did not work glad our son had an other room.I used the hair dryer in his room.

I was staying there with my family. Everything was ok. It is a good choice in the downtown of Toronto. Everyhting is nearby.

This hotel is a great value. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. An excellent location, within walking distance to everything.

We had come to Toronto to see a concert at the Air Canada Center and walked there within minutes. This hotel is at the center of everything. Love the outdoor entrance too. Very quiet because it is a secluded courtyard type circular driveway. Parking was located in an underground garage. Very comfortable stay.

While the hotel was very convenient to places we wanted to go, the room was tiny, the bed seemed smaller than a queen. But -- the location was excellent for downtown activities close to the Rogers Centre.

The Holiday Inn was a great location for our stay in Toronto. We love to walk and averaged 3-4 miles per day checking out the sites around town. Staff were very nice and helpful!!

Great hotel, spacious, a bit noisy room (ask for non-connecting rooms, since we changed rooms because of it). Breakfast is better than expected, the breakfast room is a bit cramped. The location is great, everything on walking distance!!

The room was quiet and clean. The only complaint I would have is they are advertized as "Pet friendly" but have no place on grounds to walk your dog. You must walk across a busy road to use a park there. The breakfast had hot and cold foods and was stocked well. The workers were friendly and professional. I would definitely return there.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff was really friendly and courteous. Our room was clean and had everything we needed. The breakfast buffet included seemed very good but unfortunately we didn't have time to try it.

We booked 2 rooms, we stayed on the 12th floor. Great views of the water and CN Tower. Staff were great. Hotel was very clean. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It was a Great weekend for our family.
