New York Marriott Downtown - نيويورك

The hotel stay itself was wonderful. However, the valet scratched and dented our car. We reported the damage as soon as we discovered it. Marriott won't accept any responsibility, claiming that all liability is with the parking garage. The parking garage did an "investigation" and none of their employees would admit to causing the damage so they claimed that they did not do it. I am stuck with a 3 foot long scratch and dent in my door. Very disappointed.

It was our first stay in New York, and it was a great experience all the way around! We were able to have an early checkin, and our room view was amazing. Our room was beautiful and clean. We were within walking distance to catch the Statue of Liberty boat. The service and people were so very nice and professional. I would recommend this hotel!!

The stay was pleasant and the room had a view of the statue of liberty. We normally stay in midtown so it was a nice change to be in walking distance to Soho and Chinatown. We opted for breakfast included. I recommend the breakfast entries, the buffet was not on par with the menu. Room was clean and desk service was efficient.

The location was great and my room on the 31st floor had a clear view of the Statue of Liberty!! Blue Planet Grill great food and 2 blocks away.

At check-in the front desk staff was NOT cordial at all and I was disappointed that the pool was not in service. Other than that, the hotel was nice, clean, roomier than other NYC hotels we have stayed out. The location is convenient, close walking distance to subway. The hotel restaurant was good, however, I do miss Roy's! I would stay again, if I do, I hope the amenities are available.

This is my fourth time staying at the Downtown Marriott and it never disappoints. The hotel is clean, convenient, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a hotel easily within walking distance to downtown attractions, such as, the 911 memorial, Chinatown, Little Italy, and the financial district, this is your place. I have no hesitation in highly recommending this hotel, and the Downtown Marriott will always be my choice when staying in Manhattan.

Great location next to the World Trade Center and many other sites. Staff was professional. We did stay during the Christmas Holiday so no work was being done at the World Trade Center. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Very enjoyable stay in Marriott Downtown New York, the room was always cleaned to very high standards and was very comfortable. The best hotel I've stayed in in New York but the location leaves it a bit far from the shopping areas but very enjoyable none the less

This is a terrific place to stay. Wonderful views, comfortable rooms with excellent service and easy access to public transportation. It is also just slightly out of the way from the huge tourist crowds in mid-town. I'd definitely stay here again any time I visit NYC.

Defintiely i would recommend to others ! great view of the hudson , location is great for WTC vistors of the site. rooms were clean... and room service was very professional. I will defintiely stay there again. Security is very tight near the wtc in this area you will feel safe.

loved it here. rooms were nice and clean. had a great view. about a block from 9/11 memorial. had a good breakfast place up the street. a little far from time square but subway to you right there. will be coming back!

The NY downtown Marriott was amazing. I only stated for 1 night in a basic room but it was nice. Very spacieous compared to most NYC hotels and well maintained. The hotel was very clean and the staff seemed to go out of theri way to make my experience as enjoyable as possible. I will deffently stay there again and will recommend this room to anyone. And lastly the location si great. Cabs around Manhattan are not that bad. It cost about 8$ to get to Chelsea Piers, 18$ to get to times square and about 25 to get to Randalls island so the location is great.

We were very pleased with our stay at the New York Marriott Downtown. The hotel was very clean and inviting as soon as we walked in the door. The doormen, desk clerks, and maids were very courteous and helpful. Our bed was extremely comfortable and our room was spacious. We certainly enjoyed our morning cappuccino at the attached Starbucks. We hope we will be able to stay at this same hotel next summer in New York. I would recommend it to anyone. Also, the subway system is very close which is important to us.

Great location, walk to the statue of lilberty, Eliis Island ferry, subways, South Street Seaport. Nice to be out of the chaos of Uptown. Both times I've stayd room has had a great view of Ellis Island. Perfect for a long weekend in the city. I would go back for sure.

The room was typical Marriott, absolutely fine but nothing special. The same goes for the hotel service. The hotel is located very close to the WTC site so some noise is to be expected when the room points towards this site. A nice breakfast that can be included in the room rate is served in the sportsbar.

Remember that when hotel room preference is given it is not guaranteed as we found out. We had asked for a room with 2 queen beds. When we got there we were told that this was not guaranteed through Hotel.Com website. However, hotel manager was very helpful and found another room with king bed and a foldaway sofa of queen bed size. This made our day. Thanks for the excellent service!!

I used to live in upper east side of Manhattan. It's been a decade since I moved out of state. I decided to take my mom and children for a quick NYC visit. Our stay at Marriott was really pleasant. The hotel is in a great location. It is easy to hop on to most of all lines of the subway. It is safe and we had a breathtaken view of the Statue of the Liberty. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Good hotel with some awsome views if you get the right room. My only comfort complaint is that my room had double beds and I would have preffered at least a queen size bed, if not king. Not having stayed in a Marriott in a long time (i typically stay at Hiltons), it was odd that there was no dressing mirror, actually no mirror at all outside the bathroom. So annoying if one person is in the shower and the other wants to comb their hair, adjust their clothes, etc. As with any part of lower manhattan, don't expect to find many nearby restaurants. There was a good pizza joint a block away on South End and Albany and they were cheap. There's more new restaurants by the water's edge, where the marina is, about a 3 block walk.

We are a familie of 4 who had a one night stay at the Marriott downtown hotel in New York in July of 2011. The hotel was chosen due to its location and because we had stayed at many other Mariott hotels prior to this. We had booked one room with 2 large beds. At arrival we found the airquality in the room not good. We started the airconditioning and hoped this would help. Since we arrived late at night we had to go to bed with the bad aitquality in the room. I woke up in the middle of the night and realized the air was no better. I could smell the bad air coming out of the aircondition-unit as if it had not been cleaned in a long time. The smell was real bad. It was obviously lack of maintenance. I was surprised since this was a Mariott hotel. And it was not acceptable. Next time I will consider (if it will be a next time) a Mariott hotel I will, at least, require to see the room before we move in. Secondly, we were not happy with the breakfast the next morning. The people were nice to us and the food was good, but everything took too long time!! Several tables were available when we arrived, but they had not been cleaned, and it took several minutes to make one ready for us. Thirdly, in order to get an omelett you had to order through a waiter and he/she was not there. They were doing something else. Consequently, we dropped the omelett and helped ourselves from the buffet in order to be able to reach the next plane. This was simply not good enough. A hotel of this magnitude and reputation must have breakfastarrangements which also can serve the guests who have a plane to catch and not have the time to sit all morning waiting for his omelett, juice or coffee !! We are a travelling family and stay at a lot of hotels. There are other hotel-chains which have arranged their breakfast in an other way such that guests can help themselves in a larger extent, such that the breakfast can be a quick and smooth experience. it was a good choice, all what you expect, nice room space, price, location and service but to be more honest, beware of the parking it's $65 per night!

Over all our stay At this hotel was wonderful. We couldn't have done it without the great price we received from hotels.com. The parking was a little crazy but it's to be expected for NY. We would definitely stay there again.

Breakfast was limited, wi-fi was advertised as free, but was not. wi-fi was available in hotel lobby, but we were not notified of this.

Great Hotel, Great location for tourist and sightseeing. Very busy location if not into the sightseeing thing. Great staff, very friendly and helpfull. Would deff stay there again. Quick walk to may locations.

Location next to WTC construction, quite ok, not so long walk to underground. A bit expensive stay, but still ok. Not ideal location as a bit far from Time Square... We had a one issue with maintenance guy wanting to fix our shower 8.30AM Sunday morning and got disturbed because of that. Likely some other called about a broken shower and by mistake they came to our room. Also some noise we heard in the morning from the corridor. Apart from that all good, nice staff and all!

I was wondering how I got such a good deal on a room at the Marriott... We found out when we got there. To begin with there is actually a seperate elevator for the lower floors (I'm guessing these are the less expensive rooms). At first we got in the wrong elevator- the nice elevator did not take us to our floor, it was not even an option. When we got there our room was decent. The main issue was the walls were not sound proof. Laying in our bed I actually heard the neighbors hanging their clothes on hangers in their closet and could clearly make out their conversation in the next room. I've never been in a hotel that was that bad as far as sound proofing. Overall I liked that there was a cheaper option at that location. The hotel lobby was beautiful, the staff were very friendly and helpful. However, it's important to understand that just because it is the Marriott does not mean the room is going to be luxurious. If you don't care about that this is a good place to stay that is not over-the-top expensive in NYC.
