The Madison Concourse Hotel and Governor's Club - ماديسون

I'm sure this was a nice hotel at one point, but it's now old and shabby beyond the glitz of the lobby. The windows let a lot of sound in--especially the countless 5am garbage trucks working the downtown area. The parking ramp, is basically a bomb shelter with low ceilings, and that's fine, but it could use a major cleaning. It smells and looks like an ashtray.

This was a nicer hotel, great location and not more expensive than other cheaper locations.

the price was too high for such a small room and bathroom. The bed was not even a queen, just a double. Next time I'll stay somewhere else.

This is the first time I ever wrote to complain about a hotel, but I have to get this off my chest. They were doing very, very loud renovations beginning at 6 AM. I understand that the facilities need to be updated, and I have no problem with that. Waking up to endless hammering and drilling at 6 AM after having been working on a project until 3 AM myself is not the way I wanted to start the day. I had a huge meeting at 11 and I was annoyed and exhausted. I would have stayed elsewhere if I'd known I was going to be listening to construction at the crack of dawn.

Overall a great place. However beware of the parking garage below! very low ceilings and SUV's may have a problem.

Great location, friendly staff & a beautiful hotel. We went Governors level, which includes appetizers from 5:30-7:30, cocktail hour from 5:30-10:30 and breakfast (with bloody mary bar) the next morning, all included if you chose that level. We always try to stay at the Concourse when stopping in Madison. We've also stayed non-governers level, and had a wonderful stay, too.

We were in town to visit our daughter and watch her run in a 10k race, It so happened to be Halloween weekend. Even with all the craziness around the area, it was still a beautiful stay in a nice hotel. The loud music from the stage was a little disturbing through the late hours, but the rest of our stay was wonderful. As always, Madison is a great city to visit, and the Concourse is our favorite spot to stay.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel in the Governor's Club Whirlpool Air Tub room. We didn't take advantage of any of the Governor's Club features, but we greatly enjoyed the whirlpool air tub. The room was quiet and comfortable, and the hotel staff was very courteous. We had someone come by to offer us ice and additional towels, which was nice. Also, they gave us an hour later check-out, which we greatly appreciated. When we left the hotel, there were several great restaurants in walking distance, and on the day we left, there was a farmer's market a block away, which was fun to wander around. Overall, we were very pleased with the hotel and our stay.

It was a wonderful place to stay. Service was great and very friendly staff.

Easy underground parking, staff friendly, room exceptionally clean and comfortable. Right in the center of town next to beautiful state capital. Convenient shuttle to and from Camp Randall.

The Concourse is excellent in every way. If I say too many positive things then it'll be harder the next time to get a room. The Governor's Club (concierge floor lounge) changed the pictures of the governors past and present for a lot of photographs and pictures of the Capitol Building. I liked the governors. But that's the extent of my disappointment. It's a great place.

Hotel has it all, central to everything so walking to great restarants , bars, and attractions capital building next door. Taxis are only 5 if you hate walking but it is a walking town with sites to see and people to watch. Rooms are excellent and quiet. Bar serves killer friedn curds and beer. pool and jacussi are inside and great.

Very nice hotel with great view from room. The Governors club makes it worth the stay. There were 3 TV's in the room. They all were not able to display all channels and none were HD. For a hotel this nice, I was surprised a bit by this. Service was outstanding.

First if you book - book the governors club - nobody tells you this until you get there - and once you do just know you will be waken each day at 5 AM to Madison Road Crews on 3 sides of the building beeping and banging. I feel for the staff - but at the rates they want they should be discounting during construction OR DISCLOSE THE NOISE ! ! ! ! !

I stayed only one night, for a friend's wedding at a venue one block away. Thus, the location was ideal. However, was very much looking forward to a good shower as my home bathtub was backed up and I hadn't been able to fix it before I left. Thus, was utterly disappointed to find the same problem with my room's bathtub. I showered that evening before the wedding and finished in ankle deep water (yes the drain plug was pulled up!). In the morning, I showered again before leaving and the water still hadn't fully drained! Also, for such a short stay, was disappointed to find the parking garage floor with large pools of standing water, and my room key didn't work upon arrival at my door so had to trek back to front desk.

I was really excited to stay at this hotel as it is very convenient to downtown Madison. It has a lovely lobby and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. There were coffee pots in the rooms. You could purchase coffee in the lobby for $2. The parking was next to the hotel and there was a daily charge. I had a couple of concerns however. On the first day of my stay, my room was never cleaned. Granted, I was only out of it for about fours hours that day but I did place the "Service Please" sign on my door. I also advised one of the maids that I would be gone for awhile and could they please clean my room next. Secondly, on both days of my stay, the hotel staff vacuumed the hallway outside the guest rooms early in the morning, waking me. On the last day, someone was using a jackhammer somewhere in the building (honestly) which resonated throughout the entire hotel from 9:00 am until I checked out at 11:00. I understand cleaning and repairs are necessary but these activities should be done when the majority of guests are up or out of the hotel. Overall, I liked this hotel and would recommend it. Given the overall quality, I am surprised the management misses on little things. I recommend you try this hotel!

I spent one night at the Madison Concourse with my husband and two small children and we had a great time. The location was terrific for walking around downtown Madison and, especially, for taking in the beautiful, new children's museum. The staff was very friendly and helpful and pointed us to nearby kid friendly, tasty restaurants.

Staying in the Governor's Club rooms is a pleasure. The rooms are big, clean, and comfortable. The added bonus of breakfast, hors d'oeuvres, and drinks makes the extra cost well worth it.

everything was amazing at the Governor's Club. The rooms were better than expected - beds were comfortable - very clean!

Very nice hotel. Was surprised there was not a refridgerator in the room. Security was high during our stay because of Teacher protest at Capitol.

This hotel was very accommodating when I needed an early checkin. The restaurant food was excellent and very reasonably priced. The room left little to be desired. Although I had a "Capital view", i could care less, the window was not a large sunlight inclusive view. The linens and the room itself was not what you would expect in a 4.5 star hotel. The bath was nothing special. This is an old hotel, 1970's circuit, and the beds and linen were such that bed bugs were ever present on my mind. Service was fine. The following night I said at the Sheraton across from the Alliance Center and for half the price the room was FAR superior.

The address is was not in my GPS, I had to call to get directions, lot of one-ways downtown Madison. Everything was great, except the Governor's 12th floor breakfast was poor. La Quinta and Residence Inn have much better breakfast.

We knew the clearance was low but wow, low means LOW! We fit our Tahoe in but it was a hairy scene to say the least. We probably should have parked across the street in hindsight but oh well. Hotel is awesome and Governor's club is a MUST. Dan the bartender was great and the variety of food and drinks was outstanding. Definitely will be our place to stay when we visit our Alma Matter!

The Madison Concourse is great. It is in a perfect location where guests can walk to all of the great restaurants downtown (within 5 minutes). If you are going for a football game, the 30 minute walk is beautiful and worth it, but a $2 shuttle is available from the lobby to let you spend a little extra time at breakfast if you want.

Great location and great staff. But definitly not a four star hotel. It is on a level of Motel 6 / Super 8 motels with a fact that it is in front of the Capitol.

The location was great, they have the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, however, the room air conditioner was quite loud. I would recommend staying at the Governor's Club level, as the lounge with drinks and appetizers was a great way to begin the evening.

The location of the hotel is perfect. We were close to State Street and the State Capital. You can walk everywhere, which is why we chose this hotel. This was our second stay here and we will return!

I've stayed here before for work conferences and love the area - I also lived in Madison for 5 years. Being downtown Madison - esp on the weekend- is great fun. The hotel had nice views on the Capitol or towards the lake and the staff was very nice. The parking is a little pricey - seeing as a few blocks away you can park for half the price. The Dayton Street Grille in the hotel also serves fabulous food at a decent price.

Terrific location right near the capitol square--you can't beat it for proximity to restaurants, shops, and things to do. Very reasonable overnight parking. The room was comfortable and plain--moderately current decor. We enjoyed the small pool, hot tub, and sauna very much. If I got a great rate again, I definitely would stay here on a future visit.
