The Hotel is very cozy and they have a good staff. The continental breakfast was very nice. The restaurant next door is excellent. The location is great as you are within walking distance to South Street and Penn's Landing.

The breakfast in the morning was amazing. Far better than what I was expecting. The elevator is just about the slowest I've ever been on, we would have foot vs. elevator races up to the 5th floor. Feet always won. We were super close to a lot of the old city places to eat and drink. Overall, loved it.

The 'Old City' area of Philly is so interesting and good looking. Penns View is right there. Want to get around? There is subway and bus lines there. The breakfast is extensive and interesting. The place has wonderful wines. What more could you want?

Great stay. It was close to every thing I wanted to see and public transportation was right outside the door.

The hotel is small and personal - just what we like. It was very close to all the historical places we wanted to see. Convenient location to restaurants. I called before we arrived to ask if a view was available and they gave us a 5th floor room where we could see the river and the US New Jersey. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Would I stay again? Definitely!

A comfortable stay in a convenient and charming hotel. The receptionist was most welcoming and helpful and the breakfast was appreciated. It suited our purposes on a very short stay

A very nice place to stay. We were able to walk to almost all the attractions. However, our room was on the street side, so there was the constant noise of the highway.

The location is ok, but not convenient to everything.

A great boutique hotel find in Old Town Philadelphia walking distance to most downtown attractions and great restaurants. The breakfast is very good. Room was charming with a fireplace and whirlpool tub (large.) Only negative note is traffic noise from busy expressway. We will be back!

Location was perfect for our needs; quick hop on to the subway to other parts of the city. The continental breakfast was very good. The room was clean and comfortable.

The hotel was nice enough, especially for an historic building, but I needed to work while there and was not able to stay on the Internet...spent hours with tech support, hotel personnel, "engineers," etc. they finally convinced me it was my computer but after hVing my tech support check it out, it was NOT. Very frustrating! Also the elevator is SLOW beyond words. Other than that, the stay was fine.

Very nice boutique hotel. Good location and reasonably priced parking next door. Staff was very friendly and breakfast was good.

it was great, the staff was amazing and I was able to walk and site site all over town.

We stayed in the Penn's View for 4 nights and loved it. It is so different from so many hotels where all the rooms are the same and are impersonal. This felt like we were staying in a real bedroom, not just a hotel room. The location was great, a 5 minute walk from the visitor centre, a very nice continental breakfast was thrown in and the staff were friendly and helpful. You can tell it is run by a family and not a chain. We couldn't fault it so do go!

We loved the location -- at the end of the Market/Franklin subway and adjacent to several bus lines -- and close to many historic sites. The breakfast is fine and more substantial than those of many hotels in which we've stayed, with even enough variety to be satisfying for five days. A very comfortable mattress, and a wonderful evening restaurant -- what more could we have asked for?

Lovely hotel. Close to restaurants and bars. Advertised as walking distance to Constitution Hall but the blocks were long so second day we took the subway for $1.00. We arrived amazingly fast. Our only complaint was that the hotel is right next to the highway so noise was excessive when outside. Our room was quiet enough since the glass door was insulated. Balcony was very narrow . Breakfast was plentiful and the bar impressive with the extensive variety of wines. Overall pleasant stay

We have stayed here before, and it was nice to see that it's still as great as we remembered. Friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms, and all for a great rate. Will definitely stay here again...and again.

Location was OK but felt uncomfortable at night. A block from the subway.A bit pricey.

Cozy room, convenient parking, walking access to sights of the city in a great neighborhood filled with shops and restaurants. Be sure to visit the Aquarium just across the Deleware River in New Jersey.

Our reservations were very last minute and we booked the room on a lark just by price and location. We were welcomed after a very late arrival (past midnight). The manager was quite helpful and checked us in quickly. Parking was easily had in an small overnight lot right next to the hotel. We lucked out with a room with a jacuzzi since the hotel was nearly full. Despite being next to the expressway the room was quiet. Free Internet access and an unexpected complimentary breakfast buffet in a pleasant, quiet dining room. The meal included fresh waffles, do it yourself boiled eggs, fresh fruit and many other choices. The hotel had the feel of a small European hotel with personal service. We were sorry we were staying only one night but will definitely consider staying there on our next visit to Philly. The surrounding old city with its cobblestone alleys and streets intrigued us. Penn's landing in front of our room at the river seems a big draw as well. We will return to the hotel again on a future visit.

It was expensive for such a service. Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is next to the highway and it is quite noisy at night. I had good time there, but I won't go there again. Don't let the nice pictures from their rooms fool you.

great hotel in old city...phenomenal value, nice if you like a little older type of hotel...great location!!!

My family loved this little hotel. It felt a lot like a bed and breakfast. The staff was wonderful, the rooms were so nice and cozy. We will definitely stay here again.

The room was great for the value. Checking in was quick as easy. They still use keys for the door, might need to upgrade. Elevator was slow. Besides that, everything was great. The room was nice and clean and served its purpose. Conveniently located by market street with paid parking right next door. Would definitely reccomend and stay there again.

Hotel is very nice. Breakfast is fresh fruit, yogurt, make your own hardboiled eggs.

Great romantic getaway

We stayed at Penns View Hotel for 3 days last week, and it was one I the best hotels I've ever stayed at. Great location on Front and Market, walking distance to everything and right on the Market subway line. Staff is very nice and accommodating. Smaller boutique hotel with a nice bed and great new thick white towels and nice quality toiletries. We had a great view of the river and Penns Landing from our room on the third floor. The Panorama restaurant inside of it is also fantastic and known for its large selection of wine "on tap." There's a free breakfast every morning for guests -- probably the best part, with waffle makers and boiling egg baskets etc. By far one of the best hotels in Philadelphia and we will surely be back for our next trip in September!! Thanks for an awesome stay.

Boutique feel with each room having its own personality. Great restaurant. Good breakfast buffet. Friendly, helpful staff.

The first room I was given was smaller than my walk-in closet at home! Not at all as advertised! The room I stayed in was the size of a normal bedroom... The hotel does not have a parking lot or parking space set aside for guess, so you are forced to park at the highest possible rate in downtown Philly, with limited spaces! TERRIBLE PARKING CONDITIONS!

We live in the burbs, but spend a weekend in Philly every year to get away from the kids! Usually we stay at a chain hotel. But we found PennsView to be less expensive and more quaint, being a smaller hotel. It was convenient to a lot of the sights in Old City. The free breakfast was nice, plus they have a restaurant downstairs. The neighborhood is safe and has a lot to offer...Definitely recommended.
