Excellent stay there. Would rebook in a heartbeat.

It was ok. When we checked, they did not have our reservation.

The hotel is very cozy and nice, but the furnatiru has seen better times. My bed was not very comfortable and the leinen was lacking freshness.The washroom and shower cabin have surprised being spotless. The personnel is very helpful and pleasant. I really enjoyed the breakfast. The location is amazing! Overall if you are travelling without any high expectations and are planning to spend time in Montreal and not in your hotel room it is your best bet!

the staff were nice. but the room we had was small enough for one person. The location is good in downtown.

Sure, the hotel is dingy, the walls could use new paint, and the elevator smelled terrible. But, we weren't looking for luxury accommodations. What we got was a cozy room with hardwood floors, friendly staff, clean bathroom, strong hot showers, and best of all, breakfast brought to our room! We also really liked the location of this hotel. It's just around the corner from dozens of restaurants, coffee shops, and other stores (pharmacy, book store, etc), yet off the main road so it's not noisy. Also, parking can be tricky in such a busy area, but the hotel has its own parking lot! I found the staff very friendly, and breakfast arrived promptly at the requested time. There are a lot of people complaining about this hotel on this website, giving it a bad review. But seriously, what are they expecting for this price? A hotel can't afford to update the bedding and paint every few years unless it charges high rates! Personally, I'm totally fine with sacrificing frills for for a good bargain. This hotel certainly has no frills, nothing fancy, but it's a solid place to stay in Montreal without breaking the bank, and we'll definitely go back there if we visit Montreal again.

The hotel is close to downtown but a bit sketchy at night. Parking is tight but always available - ask for the gated additional parking lot if needed. Staff is very nice and extremely helpful. We got bed bugs bites the last 2 night with the last night being so bad that it woke us up in the middle of the night. The bite sites are still bad after a week.

Listing free parking as one of Hotel St. Andre's amenities was a draw. Now that we've visited I can see why people pay for parking...you want to be safe! Items were stolen out of our car, glove compartment gone through, although no broken windows. I never feared for my safety and the area is rife with homeless people

Great location, free wireless internet, free parking, free breakfast (delivered to my room). Not a very attractive interior, but it was clean enough. Overall great value for thrifty travelers (but not professional-level comfort for business travelers, or something like that).

A great, charming , affordable place. Nice sized room with character. And best of all, room service breakfast every morning!! And free parking to boot!

A great budget hotel close to all the main transport hubs. The hotels interior was very nice - the room a little dated but great! A decent breakfast served directly to your room. Staff were friendly and helpful! All in all a great place to stay!!!

drove 5 hours from NY to Montreal arrived at the hotel around 09:00 AM to park my car and hoping for an early check-in. Roger at the front desk was very helpful and did let me check-in early and had the room clean STAT. Location is great it's 10-15 minutes max walk to Chinatown & Old Montreal. Lots of nearby cafes, bars, and restaurants. Parking is free too! And I almost forgot, breakfast was great and it was free!!!! =)

We love Hotel St. Andre, it's a great value, free parking (rare) free internet (rare) and free breakfast brought to your room every morning. Croissant et Baguette! Coffee or tea. Very nice staff. We used to stay at 4 star hotels in Montreal, but St. Andre is where we only stay now.

This is a decent 2 Star hotel that could (and should) invest a little money to make the stay more enjoyable. We came expecting a 2 star hotel and it didn't disappoint. The Good - Perfectly located one block from Ste Catherine St, it was a short walk to shops, restaurants, Old Montreal and the Metro. Limited parking but since we showed early enough we grabbed a spot and didn't have to use our car for the rest of the weekend. The front desk was very helpful and pleasant. The room was a decent size with enough space to settle in, use the free wi-fi at the desk and move with around without stepping on each other. The most surprising feature was that the free continental breakfast was delivered right to your door, at the time of your choosing. That's above and beyond for a hotel like this. The breakfast is no-frills (croissants, baguettes, coffee, tea and juice) but a perfect way to start the day before heading out. The Not So Good - The key things you want your hotel room to do is give you a place to get a good nights good sleep and shower and shave. Otherwise we'd all just sleep in our cars. The mattress was older, hard and probably 10 years past it's best before date. The bath towels were paper thin, small (don't expect to wrap yourself up and walk around) and barely sufficed in drying us off completely, though they were rough enough to do a great job exfoliating. My feet have never been softer. Both of these issues could very easily be rectified but it's what one expects at a 2 star. I would think twice about staying here again (though not completely dismiss it). Loved the location, price and service but they need to update/upgrade to really make it a return destination. However if you manage your expactations with this hotel you'll be content. And potentially have softer feet.

with inexpensive price,free parking,nearby metro,walking distance to old montreal and st.catherine street,we had a wonderful time in Montreal and certainly will go back to this hotel again in the future and will recommend it to friends. the staff at front desk were very friendly and very helpful with all the information we need.Thanks a lot.

Roger, who checked us in was amazing. He was a fountain of knowledge and extremely helpful. The hotel is old and rather basic, but a good deal for the price, especially since it included free parking and breakfast brought right to your room at the time requested :)

The hotel's location was absolutely perfect. we were able to walk to almost all the places we wanted to see. the train station, tons of shops and restaurants were nearby. The staff was somewhat friendly. The condition of the bathroom was unacceptable. the shower was moldy and was not well lit. the connection for the cable was horrible and the screen constantly was filled with static. The bed was uncomfortable and only two flat pillows were provided. unfortunately, I would not recommend this hotel to my friends.

The hotel is located few steps off St. Catherine in the Village, so not recommended for people afflicted by homophobia. Easy to get on and off highway, good access to metro, shops, museums, and not far from Mount Royal Park. Lots of coffee shops, sex shops, and male strip clubs. Otherwise it's pretty much the place to sleep and store luggage, nothing more. The room w/king size bed was small, badly lit, had small fridge, 2 smallish chairs, table size of a pizza box and an antediluvian TV set. WiFi worked. The bathroom was small, had walk-in shower and toilet meant to accommodate left-leg amputees (if you happen to have both legs you'd have to seat side-ways due to the seat mounted too close to the wall). Some closet space. A/C worked. Rather quiet. Complimentary breakfast was edible. Free parking is limited to about 7-8 tight spots behind the hotel, difficult to get in and out, fenced, locked, otherwise no security. Public parking on the street and off, nearby. Overall: expect Motel 6 level of comfort.

Just a note, the room we stayed in was extremely small. Though it contained a double bed, it reminded me of a large walk-in closet. So though it was clean and cozy, it wasn't worth the $90 a night price tag.

its just across the street from the underground connecting to the Metro Station Berri-UQAM. this station is also the hub for all the different lines of the subway system. VERY convenient for getting around without a car. the hotel's breakfast (croissants, baguette, juice, coffee or tea) was sufficient to get you started for the day. The complimentry internet connection was great, could use with any devices. the rooms were well cleaned. we had a room with carpet, but we saw some that had hardwood flooring. the staff was very helpful in getting extra pillows for us, and also advices in how/where to go

Convenient central location, clean, fine basic breakfast. No complaints at all.

It's located in a very convient location in the downtown of montreal. However, make sure you know where you want to go and where you did not want to visit before you walk out from the hotel. It is near Gay village; and we went off into the wrong direction. That is not pleasant. But aside from that everything is great. The room make up is nicely done. And me and my bf did not expect a heart warming breakfast provided by the hotel each morning. Athough we knew there will be breakfast but we thought it wont be as great as it was provided. The hotel comes with free parking and wifi... so it's great. But rmb, spaces for parking are limited. The overall is a great experiece =)

This was my second visit to this hotel. The man at concierge has been there for years and he is so helpful and friendly. Hotel is in a quieter part of the city, not the nicest part, but definitely safe and within walking distance of a lot. I would go back again in a heartbeat. Bathroom was old---needed to be upgraded. Same with room decor. But overall it's a great place to stay.

Chose this Hotel after reading reviews, wanted a good value in a non-chain hotel. Just what we were looking for, something with character and comfort. Very happy with our stay. The front desk could not have been nicer or more helpful. As some have mentioned the parking is tight but I had an SUV and had no problem parking. Easy walk to many areas and Metro is close. I'll be staying there on my next trip to Montreal.

We were very happy with the hotel. The location was close to a major metro station so it was easy to get around the city. We appreciated the free parking, the free wifi, the continental breakfast inclluded, the refrigerator in the room, the non-smoking choice. They let us check in early. They were very helpful.

Great location - really nice services - breakfast delivered to the room - free behind the hotel parking.

we stayed for one night in this hotel and everything was ok. the room was clean, the breakfast was served in the room and it was pleasure. the parking was free. the wifi internet was also free of charge. this hotel is located in the downtown, and metro is near to reach. I recommend this hotel. the bad thing was no presence of water or any drink in the room and refrigerator.
